Not gonna sugar coat it. Its an old facility thats been around the block. Could use some attention to detail. If you lift free weights, Id recommend a tetanus shot before coming here. But if none of that matters and youre just looking for a pump and an ego boost, then this place will provide. All hail the mighty pump!

They will never stop charging your credit card if you give it to them. This the worst gym I have ever walked into. The employees have their faces glued to phones. Rusty, dirty equipment. It is nasty and management is non existent. This gym is a health hazard. You would do better staying on the couch or working out in you driveway! Much better options in both directions!

It has everything you need for your exercise. With the plus of a pool, spa and sauna for a good monthly payment

So I give it 2 stars because they had no problem taking my money 5 years ago. And I’ve used it without issue for 5 years. Now I sit here to cancel my membership since I’m moving. 3 office employees sitting at desk on there phones. They tell me the manager has to do it and they don’t know where she is. 30 mins still waiting. Failure!

The gym can you use a little maintenance here and there. however, its got everything that you could possibly need its not too crowded.

Nice big gym but unfortunately upgrading and maintaining their equipment is not a priority. 95% of their equipment is 10 years old at the very least back from around the time when this gym used to be Lifestyle Family Fitness. I’ve been coming back on and off every few years to this specific location hoping that they would’ve at lease refurbished their machines but it just has been getting worse and worse. This has always been the nearest LA Fitness but I mostly go to the one in Vanderbuilt Beach Rd.

This location needs to consistently open on time. Rediculous.

I love this gym. Lots of bodybuilders train here. The equipment is older but there is a lot of it and not all of it is old. Dumbbells up to 125lbs. Very laid back environment, not a place to go to be seen or waste time. This is a gym you go to so you can work out.

Edit: the problems in my previous update have been corrected and the gym has also gotten some new equipment. Back to five stars for my review.I have to downgrade my review temporarily. I love the space but for the last 4-5 weeks, the gym has either had no running water or such low water pressure that there might as well have been no running water. Toilets dont flush and showers dont work. I thought they had the problem fixed two weeks ago but it is not yet fixed. I will update this review when the problem is finally solved. I am uploading a video that shows the water pressure on full blast.

People working there are cool and laid back. They do a great job maintaining operations. I havent personally taken up any of the personal training offers or anything.The location is an old building.Theres much to be utilized in the sense of potential for that lot.The gym desperately deserves an upgrade and more space. You can only sink so much money into fixing things before just rebuilding it all together.Most of the equipment is old which honestly doesnt bother me. Its a nice nostalgia throw back which gives it a good vibe. Equipment to people ratio is pretty off for when it gets busy. You end up having to literally stand and wait.(aint no body got time for dat)So going between peak hours is your best bet if you are there to work out and carry on with your busy life.Id say a demo and rebuild would do the place justice. Turning it into a two story would be a great method of creating more space, more equipment and more than likely over all experience. Perhaps a parking garage to match the upgrade.Of course that costs a ton of money as well.Thats my 2 cents of thought.

Amazingly friendly manager & staff. Awesome members that everyone had a smile on there face if we passed. As well as if they were in the middle of a work-out they had dedication on their face, and when I see that it fills me with positive energy. Thats what I need for my work-out. This is a GREAT gym if you like to lift weights. They have more plates, dumbells, and benches than any gym Ive ever been in. They also have a massive number of machines. This is a great gym if you are looking for a constant variety of exercises.

Call this place East L.A Fitness.Unfortunately this is the closest gym to me. Yes, its old and its not well kept. Wish Vanderbilt beach location was more accessible! Thats a real nice club.In the 5 years training at this facility - I haven’t made a single acquaintance or friend from the gym. This is so highly unusual as I’m dedicated and always train. My past has forever included friends I’ve met at the gym.The reason being is this location is adjacent the barrio and as an English speaking white guy I’m part of an extremely small minority. On a daily basis, there may only be a couple members fluent in English or none at all. Combine this with strong cultural differences and economical standing and forget about it…I just can’t take it anymore. Granted, I’m there to train and not chat, but it’s finally gotten to me. I want to train with more affluent folks who I can communicate with, have something in common with and perhaps establish some friendship.

I think the reviews of this place are terribly misleading. The locker rooms should be maintained better, I agree with that 100%. However, the equipment is always in good shape and they have more machines than Ive ever seen in any 2 gyms combined. So the paint job on some of their older pieces isnt perfect. I think the people who write that sort of thing are looking for something other than a great workout. This is a great gym. Period.

I wrote a negative review a month ago and feel since then this place has made a concerted effort to improve on the situations I brought up on my first review. Air conditioning/ventilation has been rectified. The mens room shows great improvement and I dont skeeve it as I had. Good job folks.

By far the worst La Fitness or gym for that fact that Ive EVER been to! The locker room, bathroom and showers are absolutely disgusting! The sauna is a joke its extremely tiny and the glass door is falling off the hinges, and for some reason it has a vent inside that blows cold air. The only good thing I can say is it has a good bit of machines...but they are rusted and need to be replaced. They also close earlier than any other La Fitness...this place needs to be shut down and rebuilt!

Update 4: On my last 4 visits, I have seen a concerted effort by staff to ensure the facility is clean and properly maintained, but on 10/28, paper towels were not replenished in one of the dispensers on the gym floor, and on 11/3, tiles were falling off the floor trimming (see attached pic).Original Review:This LA Fitness has everything you need, and it works, but its age is certainly showing. Equipment is old, the facility seems run down, although cleanliness for the most part is satisfactory. These negatives will not result in me terminating my membership, because in the end, I can accomplish my fitness goals and the proximity to my place of employment is convenient. There have been times where paper towels are empty around the facility and several urinals in the bathroom were out of order at the same time. Corporate office should green light a renovation project, because as of right now, the condition reflects poorly on the LA Fitness brand. There are three scales in the building, and each reflects a different weight. I chuckle every time this thought pops into my head. On one occasion, a member told me not to use a specific scale due to its poor calibration. When entering the building, its a 50/50 shot as to whether youll be greeted by staff. If you dont get greeted, its due to no one staffing the check-in counter, employees conversing amongst themselves, or employees focused on a computer screen and are oblivious to your presence.

A gym is a highly personal preference. The locker rooms arent the best. The bathrooms can be a bit unkept. However, they have a huge number of machines. Its one of the best variety of machines Ive seen. The dumbbells go up to 125 so theres plenty of weight. If you are into classes or group training, this probably isnt the place for you.

OK, so its not the cleanest gym Ive ever been in, but I think some of the negative reviews are taking it too far. Its a good gym and the people are so friendly. Lots of machines - tons of weights and dumbbells. Dont go right after dinner. It gets really crowded.

LA Fitness on Golden Gate, Naples.. Can only get 3 star because 1. Basketball court.=nice BUT outdoors in SUN. 2. Swimming pool is outdoors so cold on a Winter day and MOST evening.3. NO, THATS NO Raquetball courts NONE

Old equipment and staff aweful

A lot of equipment to really focus on certain muscle groups yet its old equipment. The hours are favorable to the staff and not the member. It smells bad, its hot, too many people socializing soaking up equipment. We couldnt use the water for a month due to contamination. Unfortunately this is the only gym around that offers a wide range of equipment.

Visited from out of town with a member. We signed up for a guest pass online, they called us to confirm. Once we arrived they would not honor the guest pass for non-Florida residents and tried to sell us a one month membership. If this is your policy, why not explain this on the phone when you called me? The manager, Angela was unapologetic about this deceptive bait practice.

Horrible gym. Dirty. Facilities don’t work 99% of the time

I had to cancel my membership for this gym in specific, the location is not convenient because it is close to a Busy inter state exit, for most of the time there is a lot of traffic. Also, the place is dirty, machines are old and dusty. The bathrooms are depressing. The nicer LA FITNESS are on Vanderbilt and bonita springs.But in Golden Ghetto is just not right.

Gym equipment is old, AC has been out twice in the 2 months I was there and they dont have any accessory equipment (like donuts). Oh and on top of that its the most expensive gym in Naples

Horrible the weight room A/C has been broken for several months. Now with high humidity and heat it is unbearable. I don’t know if LA Fitness is going broke or they just don’t care about their clientele any AC unit can be fixed in a maximum of 3 to 4 days. LA Fitness lies there’s a mold smell it’s unhealthy hardly a health club.

Went there to check out the gym and equipment as I like free weights. The person that greeted me did the pep talk and rushed me sign up without even letting me go past the door to check out the place. I told him that besides equipment, atmosphere is important for me and I needed to like the place as a whole so we walked around and the whole time he was pushing for the sale. I walked out after feeling the pressure. I joined another friendlier gym right after.

Very nice swimming pool. As a new member that is only interested in swimming workouts I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the pool area. It is a good length at 25 meters and very clean and well maintained. I had a great swimming workout and expect to be back on a regular basis. Good job to the Operations Manager on the pool.

Love the atmosphere here... and the many machine choices I have to train but I does need a little updating.

What has happened to this gym? Are they about to close this location? No air conditioning, several huge plastic air ducts hanging from the ceilings, toilets are not flushing and are overflowing onto the floor, machines are rusting, or are awaiting repair. When I ask personnel if the club is remodeling, they say they dont know.Whats up? Ive been a member for five years, and go at least 3xs per week.

Place is a mess! Over flowing waste cans, members dont rerack weights, paper towels left everywhere! The free weights do work just as good as a clean gym would and if you can ignore the trash in the parking lot, avoid twisting an ankle on weights all over the floor and dont mind filthy bathrooms this is the place for you to reach your fitness goals. If you need a clean gym I recommend Vanderbilt location.

Excellent gym. Im actually a huge fan of the old school equipment and set up of the gym. Saw a review about the water not drinkable and that was a temporary issue that was out of the gyms control. (They had a vending machine full of water in case you didnt bring your own or the staff was willing to provide you with a free water bottle if needed AND it was also posted everywhere in the gym that there was an issue and it was being addressed) It has been fixed so people need to cool their jets. This is a great gym with all the equipment you need and not nearly as packed with people as the vanderbilt la fitness which is nice. My only complaint is i wish fellow members were better at putting away their weights. They need to work on proper gym etiquette.

The Manager George there one of the best dudes out there, hands down the best customer service there, everyone talking bout some minor downsides this place you can still get a workout in and play ball and yet leave feeling accomplished. Love this place

Club is very well equipped and clean. Will be going there for about 6 weeks. This is my 3 rd time back at this club.

I was a member last year and came back. Its the closest gym to my home. The machines are older and not organized but there are plenty of them so you dont have to wait. The tread mills are older but work ok. The TVs in front of them dont give decent sound quality through ear buds. That needs to be improved. The equipment is cleaner this year than last but they need to install sanitary wipes to keep users actively involved in the process. Sauna is a bit small but they have one. Showers could be kept cleaner but not bad. Staff is friendly and when I joined I was called the first week for a personal training session.

The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The pool/spa is similar to a resort which is atypical from the Bonita and Vanderbilt clubs which Id recommend with 4 stars. The atmosphere at this location was a refreshing change!

This gym used to be farelly good but it has been without potable water for a long time ever since they brought vending machines what a coincidence the equipment is old an now they remodeled some area near the front and dedicated for personal training and put all equipment that was in that area were there was not enough room for all of them creating a very limited area to work out at you comfort.

Very disappointed with todays opening. The person that was suppose to open was 15 minutes late. (Besides that the gym opened at 8am). Everybody was waiting outside and anxious to go in.I have been member of LA since 2010, I never had any problem with it until I started to use Golden Gate Naples facility. Being late during weekends and holidays seems the norm. Its very inconvenience and unsatisfactory to be dealing with employees tardiness all the time. Bad customer service in overall.Everybody has different schedules and thats why we pay an expensive membership on time every month.Hope this get fix sooner than later and somebody actually do something about it.Thanks.-

Seems like corporate has finally visited this club and a clean up is in progress. Has been a very dirty and unkept location for a long time but in recent weeks a small noticable clean up has been visible. A long way to go but progress none the less. Hopefully it continues and my star rating will increase.

Nice. Friendly. Former Lifestyle Fitness gym. The locker rooms are hugh and pretty clean considering the amount of traffic that must come through there. I worked out at 630p on a week day and there were plenty of machines and weights free to use.

Place is filthy. The manager must walk in with his head in a bag. Garbage in parking lot, water bottles, paper towels, garbage on the way in, flag out front has been laying down for three weeks, not a good appearance. Mens locker room a mess, dont want to shower there when I see the way the place looks, both trash cans overflowing, paper towels all over the floor, looks like it hasnt been cleaned in weeks, smells. Equipment is dirty, looks like it hasnt been cleaned in a long time, floor is dirty, staff at front desk has his face in his phone most days, when told about locker room- he said he would let staff know. Hour later, paper towels were not picked up yet or emptied. Could be a real nice place if someone cared.

George was a great help to me when I needed it and he is very talented as well as the place was always clean and it smelled nice so it was an amazing experience.

Honestly I read the reviews was seckpt but once I talked to the manger George he showed me its not like that at all maybe then but definitely not now if I wasnt sick from food poisoning me and George would be grinding sets out all day. This is the gym to go to if your fresh to the gym life.

Equipment is older but well maintained. Prefer this location over vanderbilt which is much more crowded. Actually enjoy some of the old school equipment. Class instructors are good. Only have 3 stairmaster, and 1 is frequently broke.

Horrible RUSTY equipment. Everything is RUSTY!!! The metal frames and handrails on the cardio machines are all RUSTY!!! The old fashioned Nautilus weight machines are RUSTY!! This place looks like a health club from the 1970s, except it is 50 years outdated. Very sad looking gym.

Filthy gym full of 40 year old cardio and weightlifting equipment. Bad hours closing at 9 pm weekdays and 5 pm on weekends.

Big gym, not too crowded, my one wish is they had longer hours on certain days.

1990s equipment that looks 30 years old. The cardio machines do not even have any video screens for TV. The cardio area has a couple of televisions nailed to the wall. Thats as good as it gets. The weight lifting machines are old too.The gym closes very early every day and even earlier on weekends.

Lockerroom smells, equipment rough shape. The one on Vanderbilt Beach Rd. 100 times nicer. Staff is out of touch

WOW. Called to ask a simple question. Man on the phone gave me huge attitude, refused to give me his name when i asked and hung up on me. Called back and the manager sased me when i explained the rude treatment I received. Completely rude and unprofessional staff.

In comparison to any other LA Fitness in Southwest Florida this is the dirtiest and worst maintained one. 20% of the machines dont work, another 30% are squeaking, not to mention that rust is almost everywhere... I am not blaming the personnel, I am blaming corporate who doesnt seem to care at all.

My friend recommended me this place. I went a first time to check it out. The girl at the front desk was awesome, she showed me around and suggested me to come back again and do a free trial. I was happy and signed up online for that.They called and told me to see them at 8:30 am in the morning. When I arrived the receptionist told me that nobody will be there until 10 am. She told me to go and work out. My first time in a gym. I have no idea how to use the machines. No words can express my disappointment. Joseph Loftus, that later I learned he was a manager, treat me like he didnt care. His attitude was rude and mostly he ignored me. I guess if you know everything about a gym and you dont have to deal with the staff you are ok. Its not my case. I will not recommend anybody to go there. If you appreciate good customer service this is not a place for you.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED OF THIS GYM. I enrolled on June 2018 for personal training sessions in the Bonita Springs FL location. I wasnt even sure about doing this but the fitness manager CLEMENT MCDOWELL, after a very uncomfortable meeting, convinced me into doing it for 6 months (the minimum) and I agreed. When I believe was the end of my contract I approached the front desk to make sure that I was done, they told me that I hadnt signed for 6 months but rather 12, none of this was to my knowledge. This fitness manager made me believe that I was signing for 6 months, INCORRECT! After that I called corporate in California to complain about what had happened, they assured me that someone was going to call to resolve the problem but nothing ever happened. I kept calling for more than entire month and have had no response yet. My mistake was signing a contract and trusting this guy (Clement Mcdowell). Due to his incompetence I am now chained to this contract, still paying, and I no longer want to set a foot in there. I Just wanna tell my story cause I dont think its fair having people be cheated like this.

I am very glad this gym is available, no question. The place has what I need to get fit, so that gets 4 stars. On the other hand, it needs some bare-minimum improvements such as much better cleaning, all new flooring (carpet squares, mats, tiles--everything except the hardwood floor has to go), and painting everywhere. Lighting could be upgraded to add some atmosphere. That requires an influx of cash. Perhaps members would be willing to volunteer for a members appreciation day where if everyone just takes one machine each to totally and thoroughly clean/note any broken straps/mechanisms etc. Wipe down all the doors, windows, handles...just get the dirt out. Perhaps the members could work with management to sponsor some socials at the gym to raise money; add a health bar to raise money; or get local retired consultants to come provide some services for free, but charge a nominal fee where those funds go to the improvements slush funds. Examples: nutritionists, resume assistance, image consulting, etiquette, really any self help assistance could create value and raise funds.

First and foremost: the staff is so unhelpful/although that doesnt surprise me because they are on there cell phones most of the time they are on site. The air conditioning system is always malfunctioning. it stays broken for months @ a time. I as well as many others complain to the mechanical engineer to no avail . His favorite response is: its a corporate matter! When equipment, as old as the Nixons administration, breaks its usually weeks before its fixed. There is one bright spot, the front desk greeter actually says hello when U enter the facility! Ive visited the facilities in North Naples and Estero. They are very well staffed, the equipment is new, and the facilities are wonderful. In all aspects the facility in East Naples is like the dumping ground of LA Fitness equipment and employees.

I initially frequented the North Naples location, but now go to the GG location because its closer to my house. This gym is filthy, the weights are never re-racked, equipment is old and often doesnt work properly and its pretty disorganized. There is also uneven flooring (caused by water?) by the free weight area which hasnt been addressed/fixed in months. I realize it isnt as new as the other locations, but it would be nice if LA took some pride in its appearance, brand and overall functionality and made some improvements. Not sure what the deal is, but this place needs a major makeover. Im thinking maybe Ill start driving the extra 15 minutes to go to a clean gym with working equipment and people that respect each other and the facility.

To give this club five stars Id make the following changes; Id be able to workout until at least 8pm on the weekends. It would also be favorable if I could stream various forms of internet radio from an open wifi port. I would add light bulbs bright enough so people could functionally play basketball at night. I would also build at least one indoor racquetball court at the far corner of the club where there is a large room that is rarely used. A friend of mine who uses the pool and jacuzzi said he rarely witnesses people shower beforehand. Many who attend this location may need to be reminded of the ways of particular hygiene etiquette. The equipment is very antiquated and the dumbbells seem to get stolen. All of which should have been replaced by now. An interesting note about the other club Im a member of is that its a policy for the greeting desk staff to greet you when you enter and exit the club. You will not receive a hello/hola or a goodbye/adios at this location. Although, this is not to infer that the whole staff are rude, mind you. Like this review Im always happy to change the changeable, accept the unchangeable, and remove myself from the unacceptable.

This gym is a dump and the management dont care. Equipment is old and broken. When I attempted to inform staff they ignore you. I have complained because of men in their underwear in the hot tub, people sweating all over the machines, fire hazard in sauna, etc without response. They have poor class variety. Place needs a total facelift. I only come bc its the closest.

All equipment is older than what I worked out with in Jr. High school. It’s always dirty, stinks, over crowded. Very few machines of each type so they are never available. Not what you would expect thinking of an LA fitness. I have a nationwide membership and they are are similar, this one does not matc the standards of LA .. drive 15 mins to the next one it’s much better in every way possible

Compare it to a few others this location is dated, Air conditioning in half the workout areas and locker room are broken and it is dirty

LA fitness located off of Vanderbilt Beach Road and Tamiami Trail (41) and off of Goldengate Blvd always have a problem with the hot tub (not working), sauna (not working) and the pool (to cold).My husband and I chose this gym specifically for those amenities so that after we are done with our workout, we can end with those amenities. Throughout the last year these amenities are either not working properly or not working at all.We have expressed our concerns and complaints to staff as well as the corporate office however; only get temporary resolution.Despite the ongoing problems at the gym LA Fitness continues to charge their members the regularly monthly fees. I dont have a problem paying the full price as long as I am getting the services and amenities as promised (which is not the case).La Fitness is a large corporation that makes a lot of money from their members.I am asking LA Fitness to make it right, correct the ongoing problems and start taking their customer complaints serious and provide their customers with the services they are getting paid to do.
