Only company in the valley that would come out same day to help me. They made me and my family a priority. With the triple digit heat outside they came and set up a courtesy air conditioning unit to help cool out house until the next day when they would do the new air conditioner instal. Jimmy and Andrew were extremely competent and professional. They were kind and courteous throughout the whole install and took the time to talk with me and educate me on the process and how the system worked. Thank you Jimmy and Andrew for all your hard work and working late to get the job done.

Nick and Andy installed a new water heater for me and put a humidifier on my furnace (which J&D had installed for me 5 years ago). They were on time and professional and stayed late to complete what ended up being a very technical job. They had the knowledge needed to successfully accomplish everything, including some follow-up issues specific to my situation. I appreciate their hard work and professionalism and would definitely recommend J&D to anyone needing these kinds of services. (Love the humidifier btw-I would definitely recommend that.)

Have had this service for years. Maintenance every year by very nice employees. This year had to install a new air conditioner. I talked with Noah first and he had Adam come to my house to talk about what would be involved and several ways I could go. Ryan and Kane did the installing All great people that care about you. Even helped me with a couple of small things I needed done. You cant go wrong with J&D Heating and Cooling.

SERVICE CALL or SALES CALLCalled for a service call on the AC this summer for my parents house. AC wasnt keeping the house cool. Service Tech came out, no tools to check the problem, saw how old the system was and just took pictures of the condenser and asked the square feet of the house. He came up with the price for a new system. He acted more like a Sales technician rather than a Service technician. No diagnostics done other than seeing the system was old.If you want a new system, go ahead and call J & D, but dont accept the first price because they called the next day and quoted a price at 33% less.Called another company, they fixed the problem and everything has been working good since.

We called J&D when our ac wasn’t keeping our house cool. Adam came out the next day and diagnosed the problem and gave us all our options. We decided to have a new system installed and Ayden Drew and Jimmy came out within a week of the original call to install the new system. Levi came out the next day to make sure everything was working as it should. I am very impressed with the level and of professionalism of everyone we have worked with. I highly recommend J&D heating and cooling.

Nick was very helpful on another issue related to air filtration! This was in addition to the professional work on the service on the hot water heater.

This is the most crooked company in the Treasure Valley. They will lie through their teeth. They attempted to sell my elderly father a whole new system stating the system didn’t have a warranty but it did. They almost got away with it but my son did some research and found the system was still under warranty. The guy that was here talks a good game but don’t believe them. Bad Company I give them an F- for integrity. If I were you I wouldn’t let them step one foot near your system.

I cant be positive enough about the quick response and service we have received from J&D. Our furnace went out on a Sunday and they had someone out within an hour. The furnace was diagnosed and determined to be beyond repair and they got us up and running in a couple of days, even during peak heat season and other commitments to other clients. Adam was honest with us about our options and worked with us on financing. James and Drew, the installers, did a great job. They were on time, did a very professional job of installation, were very good about walking us through the particulars of the new system and really cleaned up the worksite better than expected. Even though we had used J&D years ago, we hadnt for a number of years because we had an in house HVC relative. Now that he is retired J&D will once again be the only company we use. Well done!!!

Andy was the tech that was sent to our home. What impressed me the most was how thorough he was. The staff at J&D is very professional and had a tech to our home very quickly. Andy discovered a major issue with our heating system with the way it was initially installed by another company. We are very pleased with the service and highly recommend them.

J&D was amazing from start to finish. We had several employees help us through the process of purchasing and installing our new Air conditioner and Furnace. Kenny W. and Chris S started us through this adventure, they were both very knowledgeable and friendly. They walked us through the steps of what would happen next. They returned a couple months later and again helped us with our furnace purchase. Again, very friendly and knowledgeable. The installer team for both the Air conditioner and Furnace where awesome as well. they walked us through what they were doing at every step and then walked us through our systems and how we should use it to get the most bang for our buck. Kane and Ryan were the installers for the latest purchase of the furnace. They did amazing, 4 hours in and out. Thanks J&D, we will forever be customers.

BE CAREFUL. The two guys came and ask my wife is she the only person stay home and how much is this house before work and then figured out I am working from another room, keeps asking how long will your husband be around? These are not really work related questions and makes us feel very uncomfortable. The regular check took approx 4hrs and quote a terrible $13xxx to fix the rust due to water leak form plastic tube??? Then, keep asking how much is my car and house? Saying, you just think you pay this like your MB car, weird service... I don’t recommend this company due to very unprofessional service and poor interaction, I even have to keep my screw driver in my pocket as they want to talk at my house but not in the garage where HVAC located, I don’t even have any chance to look at pictures he took but just quote a ridiculous price based on his google search???

This company truly cares about its customers. They are very professional and always responsive. Ask for Noah. He is on top of it and always does a fantastic job.

I called J & D to go check out my heater at my rental property, they sent out Levi, long story short he tells me I need 2 parts for a total of $1,300. I got a second opinion the very next morning, Butler came out and sprayed out the cobb webs and particles and got me up and running and told me there is not one thing wrong with my unit. It has been almost 2 weeks since and the heater is running fine. Again this is the short version. I have gone over and above to Yelp this company, I told all my neighbors on next door and learned that many of them have had the same encounter with them, and then I went to the Better Business Bureau. This company is a scam and ought to be shut down. How dare them try to take advantage of me. Especially during these difficult times

J & D came out to the Melba Valley Senior Center and did a complete tune up for free. And then the tech, Levi shared his brussel sprout recipe! He then helped lift some heavy things we had around, just amazing! Cant say enough good things about this place!!

Our furnace is having issues, and through a series of inspections we have been impressed by the thoroughness of the team at J&D. They were willing to come out a second time after we got alternate facts from another company, and showed us first-hand what they found. I cannot give them full stars, as the furnace problems are as of this writing unresolved, but I am impressed at the customer service and their willingness to back their work.

J&D Heating and Cooling is the VERY best company as far as customer service and experience goes! In the 15 years we have been living here they are our preferred company to call. Once we used the pink panther company due to they were offering a special and we later regretted it due to inferior work which we had to fix at an additional cost by J&D. Also J&D offers a 3 year warranty for a low affordable cost that after reading the long list of what it covers is well worth the investment! Just had our yearly air conditioning and furnace checked by one of their best service men by the name of Levi Star who did an exceptional job relating what he found and did! We would highly recommend him and this company if anyone is interested in getting the best for their money!

We woke up to a cold house as temps dropped overnight for the first freeze of the year . We called and within 45 min Nathan was here . He was professional and courteous. Found the problem by visual inspection and had us back in comfort just over an hour from our first call. Nathan was incredibly kind and humble . We trust that they stand behind their work ! Nick came out to do a routine furnace tune up. Upon inspection he found a part that needed replacing. He did not have the part in his van but he quickly ran out to the supply house to pick it up and he had the new part installed within an hour. J&D also has a 3 year discount program for customers that saved me some money on the replacement part and will save me 20% on future service calls. Thanks for the great service!

We live down the road from J&D and decided to have them come service our units before we sold the house. They claim to care, but they only care about up selling and being dishonest. I was told that my furnace had a crack and that they had to decommission it. The technician pulled his phone out and showed me the “crack” with serious “rusting” and told me it’s the worst case he’s ever seen. The technician said the ac unit was in poor shape and that the items to repairs were going to cost more than the unit was worth (both ac and furnace were installed in 2009. Their 11 years old)! I’ve had both my units regularly serviced and the filters changed every other month. We have carbon monoxide detectors in the house and have never had an issue with them going off. I know that if the heat exchanger has a crack it needs to be tested for carbon monoxide is present. That test was never performed. After speaking to my husband we decided to pay J&D their $200 service charge and seek a second opinion. I find it funny that a second opinion was done and there was no crack!! There was some rust, but it appears to be from an old leak prior to us buying the house. We scrubbed the rust off and there’s still no crack. Our new technician however found that our heat exchanger was under recall. The Carrier is paying for all labor and a new heat exchanger. Thanks J&D for taking the time to look at this! Again, poor service, customers are not their top concern.The ac unit is in fine working condition and isn’t pulling high numbers like the technician stated. We will never use J&D heating again. All they care about is stuffing money in their pocket. They don’t care about their customers. We are only paychecks to them and I’ve already told several family members who use J&D to stop using them. We’ll take our money and business elsewhere. This company is crooked!

Ryan called within the timeline set, to let me know when he would arrive. He came when expected, checked the water heater and furnace as well as changing out the filter. He was professional and friendly, answered my questions, and was an excellent representative for J anD Heating.

Wade was great to explain everything. We decided to get all my ducts cleaned. He helped arrange that. I appreciate all that J & D do for me to keep my house cool and/or warm. A great company!! I highly recommend them.

Our techs did a great jobI think our tech was Nick but not sure. Another tech showed up and I think he was Noah. Anyway the tech that showed up first had a tester that showed we needed a part on there that no one else found. He said too much power was going to the cooling unit and would eventually burn it out. We were thankful he took notice of that. Both techs were very polite. Thank you to our techs👍

Great place to get your a/c and furnace serviced. Friendly and knowledgeable techs. They call to set up my twice yearly maintenance checks. That makes it easier for me, I dont need to remember and they also include filter delivery. Overall a great company and I wholeheartedly recommend.

Paul and Kirk were great. Professional, prepared, tidy, knowledgeable, prompt and willing to spend as much time as necessary to explain the workings of our new heating and cooling system. When finished they cleaned up as if they were never there. 5 star!!

I got a great deal on an inspection and tune up for my furnace, water heater and a/c. I’m a first time homeowner and had lots of questions about maintenance and upkeep. Nathan answered all my questions and then some.

Nick was prompt and courteous -- called to let me know when he was on his way, and took the time to explain some of the technical details associated with the equipments operation. Appreciated that! Unfortunately scheduling has been a problem . One appt with a 4 hour window went by with no communication about delay and/or re-scheduling. There was also no communication that was promised about a follow-up appointment until I called to check.

I asked John for an estimate to cap off one of my small bathroom heating ducts. He contacted his boss who gave him the outrageous price of $600. As much as I enjoyed John I guess I wont be doing any more business with J & D at those prices.

We received service within 3 hours on the same morning that we called for service -- and this was air conditioning service, mid-summer, when servicemen were working 10 to 13 hours per day, two days before a record heat wave was predicted. John demonstrated and shared high knowledge of the unit and corrected the problem. He also detected a manufacturers defect that contributed to the problem and was fixable for $20. He shared extra tips on his own initiative. He explained and showed many steps of his work, gave estimates before proceeding, and even asked for our verification of his meter readings when dispensing refrigerant. He explained pricing options and provided information for reducing costs in the future. He was obviously well trained and described how he was required to give trainings to his colleagues in the company when he learned from problematic situations that could benefit others. He was so courteous and personable that it appeared that even above good training, J&D values good character.

We had a furnace and a/c tune up performed. Paul was knowledgeable and thorough. He took time to ask questions as well as answer my barrage of questions! He pointed out how well the systems are performing, items to watch for, and in general educated me as a homeowner on what to do, expect and look for to ensure we dont run into worst-case scenarios and keep our home and family happy and safe. I could not be more satisfied with the service provided by J & D. Stephanie who booked my appointment was friendly and efficient. Garrett the technician was very mannerly and he listened and addressed my concerns. Dont trust this company. Showed us a picture on phone that was previously taken of a cracked part. Acted like he could take a picture of the part by removing the filters and putting his phone in. You cannot see the part he claimed was cracked from there. Gave a bunch of other info and gave a price of a new furnace when ours works great. We actually removed part and there wasnt a crack.

J&D Heating and Cooling exceeded my expectations! They serviced my fireplace, furnace, and water heater all in one visit. They were on time, professional, friendly, and thorough. And it was affordable, too. I was very frustrated with the companies that installed the fireplace and the heating/cooling unit - they were happy to sell me the new units yet have no interest in service and maintenance. Our exhausted water heater in our home decided to finally take a dive and began leaking water. One call, even on a Sunday evening, and J&D Heating and Cooling was on it. They came promptly in the morning and performed their diagnostic, showing us issues and what needed to be done. To my surprise, they strive to replace the same day, and as soon as we pulled the trigger, began disassembling and replacing. Water to the house was off for one hour total, with hot water back by the late afternoon. I was so happy to be back and running so quickly. The servicemen were courteous, informative, friendly, and did a clean and thorough job. It was a great experience for an unexpected replacement.

John W came to my house to tune up and check the air conditioner. Someone from his office called to tell me when hed be arriving and he was right on time! He introduced himself and gave me a card to confirm who he was. He was careful to wear booties over his shoes while in the house and he was polite and informative. My husband was impressed when he came home that John W had entered the date of the filter change on his personal chart of filter change dates. We have done business with J&D for years and have always been impressed with their service. Great team!

Nick A arrived on time and did a maintenance on my furnace. He noticed a problem with a sensor and was able to resolve the problem on-site at the time. Did a great job.

Paid for furnace inspection as needed to sell my house. Repairman must have thought I’d just do whatever he said was needed. My house is two years old. I’m a fanatic about changing filter monthly. Expected an “all ok”. Instead he wanted to charge me $600 to change capacitor and clean blower fan. Even showed me a pic of “a dirty blower fan” that was suppose to be mine. I said - sorry. I don’t have the $ and can’t believe that’s needed. Called icon air - to see what those two items would cost. $80 to clean fan and $25 for capacitor. They came out. Said my fan was cleaner then a lot of new houses but the capacitor was a little low and replaced that. $25 for what JD wanted to charge $600 for. Do not use J&D!

Brady did a fantastic job fixing our AC. We had received a call from a tech late the night before, stating he was on a job, but could get to us as soon as he was done. As it was around 9pm when I got the call, I mentioned that if he finished up in the next 30mins or so, to go ahead and call back. If it was later, Id call back the next day.Brady ended up coming out the next day, apologized profusely for the other employee (I wasnt even upset about it), apologized we didnt get taken care of sooner, etc. Brady began diagnosing, confirmed the issue was what I thought it probably was, and fixed it with no issues.He was extremely friendly, professional, even walked me through all the steps and diagnosing he did so I could handle it myself, or at least let a tech know what was going on if something else went wrong with it, as its a bit of an older system.

Just had Paul R. from J&D install a new Furnace and A/C. He and his partner did a great job. So now we have better heat and A/C. Good price and right on the estimate. The equipment looks great and the garage is now cleaner that when they started.

Ron Apple is an excellent technician. He arrived promptly and immediately put on his shoe covers.He went about his business and informed me of his findings upon checking my a/c unit. All was good. Very courteous .Good company and I will definitely use them again. I have been a customer for about 3 years. Love their tune-up service and discounts available to tune-up contract customers.

I called these guys out because my water heater was leaking. It was a Friday and I had heard good things about this company. They wanted to charge me $2300 to put in a new water heater. I’m not knowledgeable about pricing so I agreed. The next day I went and priced out water heaters, that were only $800! They were taking advantage of my naivety and need to replace asap. I was able to call around and found a different company to put one in for $1000 cheaper and they did it over the weekend. Of course J & D still wants to charge me the $89 diagnostic fee, which the other company does not charge for. I would never recommend this company, they take advantage of people who don’t know any better.

What a GREAT bunch of folks to deal with! Our install went well from day one. Got to know all the guys and everybody in the office. A couple of glitches due to *This Old House*, but everybody was very professional and kept their cool each step of the way. Have already recommended J & D to family and friends.

Brady and John were first class. Very detail oriented and although problem Brady had not experienced, he studied after hours to figure out problem and John confirmed. They worked together as a team and were very informative as how they were progressing until completion.

John checked out the furnace and offered to check the hot water heater as well because we had been experiencing a need to increase the temperature of the water in order to maintain the usual volume. He drained it and found no sediment. He also told us about furnace vent and dryer vent cleaning services, costs of furnace filters, and arranged to have our regular system checks scheduled for spring and fall so that the systems will be checked before the beginning of their heavy seasons. We were grateful for the service and the extra information John offered.

Uninformative people, the main headquarters secretary doesnt follow through with what she says unless its to get money from you. When i asked the price for a part she said that she would check into it and call me back since the total was $600 - $800. I wanted to know how much was going into labour. After the service tech showed up before she was to call me back. I refused service since i was able to purchase the part elsewhere for $33.56. She called me back upset that i refused service. I told her that i wanted to know the price point of the part and she then told me that isnt discussed with anyone. The service tech TAPED the main kill switch in the on position, thats not only stupid but dangerous. I do not like liars. I do not like miscommunication. I do not like how this whole ordeal was handled. If i could give a zero star i would. One more thing, if the service tech is going to up sale vip business that the tech should be clear and understand completely what its about. I was told $60 for 3 years, full free checkups on furnace AND ac unit. No extra charge period. If i had my choice next time, Ill shock the hell out of myself before calling you guys again. Liars, cheats and thieves.

J&D Heating & Cooling is an amazing company. They have been so helpful with my moms furnace. Recently, the air conditioning went out and Ryan came and fixed it. Not only was he amazingly patient with my moms dog, he fixed the issue, fixed her warranty and made sure she had everything else she needed. Ryans service was impeccable and my mom and I cannot thank him enough. Everyone at J&D is so helpful and I cannot recommend this company enough! If you are in Boise, ID - this is the company to call for all heating and cooling.

I got both new AC and heating unit through J&D and everything was fine until a part in AC unit failed only 1.5 years later. I have 5 year parts and labor warranty but when I called them about the issue they said my warrant was void. Their reason was that I didnt have an expert do a yearly maintenance checkup in the first 12 months. I was never told this was required for the warranty to be valid and it felt intentional as the employee on the phone asked that as her first question after I told her about my issue. They advertise 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed and its on the back of my receipt but after talking to them its clear that is not the case.I would not recommend J&D and have starting using another company for all my AC/heating needs.

The office personnel called to tell me the techs were on their way and then followed up later with a call to check my satisfaction with the service. Very professional.My only reason for not giving a 5-star rating is that I had to wait in a 9am-noon window of when they would come and I had my morning tied up. But I realize a more precise appointment time may not be practical. They did show up in the window I was told.

Well, is seems that others had a more positive experience than we did. We knew we may need a water heater so they quoted us $2,400. and said that ours could have a major problem at any time. I remembered my widowed friend had to replace hers for the same quote and J & D did hers. We called their competitor and they came right out and it saved us $1,000. for the professional grade and all code requirements!

Weve been with J&D Heating for several years now. We especially like it when we get the same person, Randy S who does our tuneup every year & we can depend on him doing a great job. We really appreciate his work & with a limited amount of space to work in. Its also great to have a maintenance plan, set up every 3 years, so we know how much it will cost. I am very satisfied with the overall performance of this service.

My furnace quit working the evening of 2/13/16 - a Saturday. I called J&D Heating and Cooling and John Wheeler was at my house within an hour. Upon examination, John found the blower on my furnace needed to be replaced. One had to be ordered which could not be done until Monday. John left me with 2 space heaters that kept my home very comfortable until he could replace the blower on Tuesday. I was very pleased with the efficiency, dedication and professionalism John showed. Both he and the main office called regularly to keep me informed of the progress. I definitely recommend J & D Heating & Cooling.

Ryan was awesome. We didnt know our house was gas heated until he found out for us. Instead of just leaving us to figure something out he brought us 2 space heaters. Couldnt be happier. Thank you so much

I used them when my air conditioning stopped working and 3 weeks later it stopped working again. I spoke with the technician Ryan, he told me to do a diagnosis of the air conditioning, it would cost $3000 and I would be better off to purchase a new one for $5200 or a contractor grade one for $4200. I called Ashley in Boise and they came out and performed a tune up and it cost $313. J and D charged me $419 for the service call, a recharge, and a fuse as well as a continuing maintenance plan. They can be assured I will never use them again. Ashley also did a diagnostic which was included in the price.

Had great service from Adam in regards to diagnosing my AC and potential problems with my furnace. I agreed to replacing both of them and he was VERY patient with my many questions. Kind of a shock to learn I needed to replace both.Following day three employees came at 8 a.m. to install the AC and furnace- Kirk, Garrett and Stephen. My yellow Lab just ate up all the attention they gave her. The workers were courteous and professional. In fact, as they left I told them that it had been fun having them do the work.
