Gym manager enables other members to assault people in the building and turn a blind eye. manager also has two DUIS and does not care about the safety of other humans. manager is very unprofessional and screams at you if you have any problems with equipment or the gym itself. if you bring any issues to her attention she will ban your membership and call you a liar. save your money and go to a facility that doesn’t have mold for a building and for a manager.

I’ve been coming to this location for years. It’s no Planet Fitness but you can still get a great workout!

65$ for a month pass noooo one do this go to planet fitness there under 20$ for a month pass. Ridiculous price.

I called about canceling my membership after 2 years of never going into the place. The woman who answers was very rude and gave me the wrong e mail address to cancel my services. She was very rude saying why are you canceling are you moving or something?!

Super unprofessional. The manager stole from me and lied to me while setting up my privileges at the gym. No hard feelings Would love to speak to the owner!

My son was visiting and just got back from a tour in Kuwait, the Family Fitness on Alpine gave me a pass for 21 days for my son to work out with me. We went to the N. Muskegon gym and the manager would not honor it. She was going to make him pay the fee, even though we had a guest pass. I will NOT be back to that gym and will make it a point to go to the Alpine one instead!! I have been a member for 3 years and am appalled that they would not honor the pass because my son was from out of town! I was more than willing to pay the 5 bucks but that is not the point! The point is he is active military and fights for our freedom and 5 dollars was more important to this manager than that fact! Have some respect for military members past and present!! Not to mention she was very rude and nasty about it!! I would like to give kiddos to the Apple Ave gym, who did honor the pass!!!

This Gym is literally what I can ask for! Honestly this place feels like home to me, everyone knows and respects each other. The equipment is great! Recently we got new bars for the bench press and it feels great. Also the people that control these place are considered as my bros and that is Isaiah and Julius. Thanks to them I am able to succeed and achieve my goals on how to be a lot more fit and strong. I definitely suggest trying this place out.

Ive been coming to this gym for about three years! Its great facility with a variety of machines and free weights. Also, there is a sauna which is one of my favorite favorites things about the gym! Another favorite of mine are the employees, Isaiah and Julius to be specific.Theyre always nice and there to help if you need something! Great facility AND great environment!

Members are not required to wear masks when inside but the manager picks and chooses who she wants to wear a mask and will single you out if you workout in a sports bra. the manager has two DUIs and bullies the members as if she is superior to the other lifters in the gym. Manager never wears a a mask because “she’s not a democrat sheep”..her own words. i have never felt so disgusted when leaving a place and she threatened to ban me from the franchise!! i will be calling corporate. definitely some fishy business here.

Family Fitness is one of the best gym I know around. They are very friendly and hardworking. The staff are awesome! I work with my trainers Julius and Jessica. They are bad ass when it comes to working out. Not to mention my boy Isiah, he likes to help as much as he can. Dont be afraid to join the team and work hard at Family Fitness!

Julius and Chris have always been friendly and are very flexible with scheduling training sessions around my busy schedule. They work with you to get a training schedule that will best help you meet your fitness goals. Isaiah, the assistant manager, is always friendly and remembers your name and face. I couldnt ask for a more welcoming gym to go to.

STAY AWAY!!!!! North Muskegon will not tell you about a contract and forge e signature. We never signed anything other than one piece of paper agreeing for auto pay. All of a sudden we want to cancel and they want a $1000 fee. They email us this contract that apparently says we agreed to it. We looked at it and clearly was not our signature. They apparently signed on a tablet or some sort of portable device and said we did. We never signed it. They dont have any proof and now are threatening us. If you have to deal with corporate they will never answer the phone again after they find out you want to cancel. They will just email telling you to pay them. I cant speak for the other centers but be careful of this one. I hope this review helps.

Ive been coming here for 3 or 4 months now and the place is clean and well kept. They have good equipment and the trainers help a lot like Julius. The prices are also very fair and the people that workout here are nice and will help you out also.

I agree with every one star rating...equipment broken..instructors dont show up for classes...young kids working the desk at night who know nothing..and try to cancel for these reasons? Lol...good luck!

Isaiah is the only reason I have a membership here. He was so nice and welcoming when I came to check the place out. He keeps the gym looking great and making sure its a welcome environment. He is awesome and you should keep him around forever!

This is the worst gym company Ive ever had a membership with. I came in to sign up for a 30 day free trial and got signed into a 2 year membership that I attempted to break numerous times. My wallet was stolen here in March 2017 and the managers didnt even look at the cameras. The doors to the locker rooms are propped open so its very easy for men to come into the womens locker room or vice versa. They would not let me break my membership without paying half of it off after that crime incident, which I am aware is not the only incident there. They wouldnt let me quit without a utility bill or rent bill in my name despite the fact that they know I am a student and was moving back to my parents residence and all the bills are not in my name. Once I got bills in my name the earliest they said I could terminate the membership was the last month of the membership. The staff and manager are not helpful at all in the termination process or involving the crime and the corporate team is a bunch of crooks. The equipment is always half out of order as well. Go to planet fitness and save yourself stress and money.

A fantastic place. It met all my needs and the people there were great. Friendly and helpful, they helped me figure out the perfect regimen.Ive been going here for weeks and I think that Ill be staying for quite some time. :-)

Ive been a member for over 3 years. Im happy with the place and the price is very affordable. I have noticed that it takes them a little while to take care of the repairs that are sometimes needed on the machines.

Kind of cramped, I wish they had more open spaces to utilize for CrossFit training type exercises. The staff is very nice and courteous.

Love the gym.. Only complaint is kids in the womens section. Sarah is one of the great customer service reps I recommend speaking with:)

Started going here 2 weeks ago. I was welcomed in by everyone here and love working out here. Isaiah really made me feel like part of the family.

Edit - After using the gym for three months we spoke with the manager. We needed to get away from this place. Someone had urinated on the heater in the dry sauna, my wife found used tampons on the floor in the womens room, people were bringing their dogs in to work out with them, out of all of the treadmills, normally only 1/4 of them work at any given time, the barbells are all bent from members throwing them on the floor, the management doesnt care that they throw them on the floor. I also explained that it really isnt a place to bring our teens. Who wants their kids to workout with all of that going on? The manager agreed and let me out of my contract. I am still being charged. Upper management let him go shortly after we spoke and they will not listen.This is not a workout facility you want to join. Nothing is clean about it, and the new management does nothing to improve the facility. If you insist on using Family Fitness, use the Norton Shores location. It is the only FF facility that is kept up and the management is proud of it.

Isaiah has made my wife and i feel very comfortable to come workout. he is always very nice and will answer any questions we might have. i would have to say he makes me want to come in and workout i consider him a friend

The facility needs some work but they are gradually updating things. I have gone to the gym at different times of the day and I have to say I like the mid morning the best. The staff in the evening is awful. Sara at the front desk in the morning is always so welcoming! She is defiantly a go-getter and is always on top of things.P.S. fix the pot holes PLEASE!

Pretty cool place, i love the fact that they have a variety of punching bags and martial arts equipment, the sauna is also very nice. Awesome place to go to if you practice martial art

Isaiah Allen is the reason why I come to this gym. My friend, Cj, and I come here every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Gregg his also cool. He was very helpful.

My experience here was nice and we were greatly welcomed by Isaiah Allen. This makes my workout more enjoyable.

Just started this gym two weeks ago! Everyone is friendly and very welcoming. Theres so much you can do and I enjoy the sauna as well! oh and if you have kids theres a daycare for you kids!

Main gym here is kinda meh but the ladies area is huge and really nice.

They continued to charge us even after we moved to Lansing, and charged us even more to cancel the service even though we physically are unable to use it. This is fraud.

This place has definitely chnaged me.....i have been going here for 6 months now, and i wouldnt want to be at any other place than here. This place is like my second home, id also like to thank Sarah, a friend that has been motivating me to keep going and never stop. So yeah this place is really great and i highly reccomend it to anyone.

THEY DONT DESERVE YOUR MONEY!!! The owners and/or people running this place have taken over $1,000 from my mom throughout her efforts to get out of her contract due to mobility issues. This happened over the course of 3 years!!!! They literally made it impossible for her to cancel. No follow-ups and HORRIBLE customer service/communication. Shame on them for taking advantage of an innocent person in our community!!!!!!!

Is a good place to workout, dont have to wait long to use an equipment, people are friendly, and is close to home.

5 stars for being open 24 hours at multiple locations but the overall maintenance is terrible. I cant speak on the Sternberg location as I dont workout there at all.

Oh man, this place is a joke. Ive had nothing but problems with these guys. Between the employees stealing my cash payments leaving the payments unrecorded and sent to collections, to the person who signed me on telling me anything I wanted to hear to get me to join. Always dirty equipment, the janitor is always crying.. The vibe is super depressing.

Isaiah and Julius made us feel very welcome when we started our membership I would definitely recommend.

If anyone is going to sign up for a gym membership DO NOT get one at Family Fitness. They are horrible! They have you sign to become a member but doesnt tell you that youll be locked in for 4 YEARS. I went to cancel and they said if I wanted to cacel I would have to pay the rest of my contract up front! What! If I dont want to go to their facility anymore i am not going to pay 2 years worth of gym access to not have access!!! I am not paying $368 up front to not have access to the gym that I dont want to go for. That makes no sense! NEVER GET A MEMBERSHIP THERE!!! They are soooo shifty.

I have had a great experience with the North MKGfacility and would like say the staff is super great. Isaiah is an asset to the N.MKG facility. Rude! If I could give this place a zero I would!! The manager at the north Muskegon place was rude and disrespectful. I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone. Might as well go to planet fitness.

Uneven floor, dumbbells are falling appart, machines are too close to eachother, and the only area to warm up or stretch is off limits when theres a class going on.

Facility is awful, unless you are a female. I have been there a year and keep expecting them to update the common areas but they dont. There always seems to be broken equipment and laundry is very rarely done in the morning!

The lady Robbin, that runs the place!! Shes a stinker!! And Im saying it clean. She aint right!! Wont be going back!
