Great neighbors, affordable prices for the 2 bedrooms. Good AC, and other amenities. Loved to cook in the flame grill near the pool. Quiet community with every store thats possibly needed close by within 6-10 mins of driving
Its not bad for the price. Not to many complaints other that the issues I keep having with my AC. Ive requested it to be fixed 3 times and had to buy my own portable cooling unit just to be able to sleep at night. The apartment nears 85 degrees some days and will not cool past 74 degrees. Theyre maintenence crew has not been satisfactory. Its sad really because other than that, theyve been great.
Love living here. Its a bit rundown but most appartments are but the community is nice if your a intorvert. Nobody bothers eachother. But when the storm came through everyone moved branches and such and helped each other. It was great.
The only reason I give it four stars was because of the fact that after I had submitted my request, I never got a response back telling me when they were gonna handle it which is important to me because even though I had given them permission to enter the place if I wasn’t at home, I would’ve still liked to know that they were gonna come at this certain day and this certain time but besides that, they did amazing and fulfilled my request along with doing it in a very timely manner so thank you very much.
Very Excited to move into my apartment. Very nice place to live, also great price, staff, neighbors 👍😊
You know these places are great at understanding when it comes to families making payment plans. However I feel bad for my brother in law because for five days even after placing emergency requests he has had no hot water for his kids or himself... like I said great place with working things through with those who keep open communication with the offices. Understanding and forgiving either... but the maintenance... like wow people shouldn’t be living in their homes without hot water and or ac. I hope my brother in law can actually have his things fixed soon because he does love easy it is to communicate with the office about everything else. Probs to the office... maintenance needs serious work...
They came in and fixed the AC, every issue I had they looked into, they did everything that needed to be done. It took drying some glue overnight which was hard to get through in the heat but the payoff is now the AC works like new again!
Beautiful apartments my friends apartment has a great view.
Just wow!! This place is terrible! The maintenance guy Wes left about two months ago and has gone way down hill since he left. The new maintenance crew is petty and inconsiderate. The apt is way overpriced for the value. I was “forced” to rent a washer and dryer to the tune of $45 a month even though I had my own that I intended to bring with me. The community director Karen is a real life Karen and won’t listen at all and talks over you while you say things. Overall really unprofessional, childish, and a horrid place to live. I’m strictly basing this off the last two months not the majority of my lease. Definitely will not be signing another lease with them! Also just want to say Barb has always been a pleasure to speak with and always extremely helpful!
So far everything its fine....the office personnel the maintenance personnel are very friendly and make you fell countable...the apartment its nice ...
Awesome place to live good and proffecional Staff.
After living here for two years I honestly only have two complaints and one isn’t even a complaint. My first is that the sprinklers hit my car during the summer and so no matter what I do, I ALWAYS have hard water spots on my windshield and windows making it difficult to see. I am constantly using vinegar to clean them off and it drives me nuts. The other is this facility is so great at keeping the walkways clear during the winter, it’s awesome. I just really wish they used pet friendly rock salt on the pathways because regular rock salt actually hurts dogs paws, especially if it’s not washed off right away after coming inside. This apartment complex has lots of dogs, so it would be awesome if the switch could be made.Other than that, I have loved living here. It’s quiet, beautiful landscaping, people are friendly, and any maintenance needed gets addressed quickly. I love it here. ❤️
This place is horrible and I don’t recommend living here. My car has been vandalized on 6 separate occasions, the most recent happening this week right after getting my car back from the shop. The apartments know about the robberies and vandalism that takes place in their parking lot but has taken no action to address the issue in any sort of satisfactory way.
Katrina was super nice and was able to get the issues fixed quick. Very personable
These apartments have terrible theft. I was victim of theft yet again at this apartments and myVehicle was parked next to the main road and in front of their spot light. I have voiced my concern via email with Karen yet nothing is done and no response from my email. I have called the company that supposed to patrol our apartment I received an answer that was more than disappointing more like infuriating. You can’t depend on them to protect their residents in the events of theft or even to deter theft. It’s sad. Their are no cameras on in the entire property. Unless they are installed by residents because the apartments won’t.
Its nice. Pet friendly. But.... Not kept up clean....its nnnaaa ok.
Barbara was friendly, helpful and always quick to respond..I absolutely love my apartment!!
I lived here a year ago and it was the worst apartment I have ever lived in. It was dirty the first day I moved in kitchen floor was black.they had to fix my heater about 8 times the two winters I lived there. They wouldnt replace as this apartment is cheap. I give my notice to move out and they accept it. Well it was a 30 day notice and about 25 days later they had replied stating I had to give a 60 day notice. Well thats not my problem anymore as you should have told me right away. Than Barbara is the most unprofessional one in the office refusing to give me the corporate number staying the are out until Monday. Well there is always someone to talk to in corporate. Everyone has a boss.So the whole deal is over they charged me for a pet when I never had one there. I didnt care I paid them in full as I couldnt get a new apartment until done and I was about to be homeless. But she told me I refuse to to help you until I get my statement back in Sept 10th for finacials. Okay so you dont care about your people at all. Just about the money. And Barbara is the asst. Manager. Blows my mind.
Everyone in the office made my move in very easy. They made a point to make sure I was comfortable and informed. Ive rented many times before. Never have I had such a a great experience.
May 19 I leave the apartment and pay the remaining amount and get it signed by the manager(I have the receipts). 6 months later I get a collection account added to my credit card out of nowhere, that takes my credit score down by 150 points. Call up the office and they tell me there was a balance (when I had already paid in full), and I ask them they shouldve called me or sent me at least one email about it. On checking they tell me they kept sending letters to my James Pointe address(which I left 6 months earlier; had already provided a forwarding address), and that the letter kept returning back to them.I pay the remaining amount and the Collection account was removed but its been a year now and my credit score is still hurting bad.
I love how they have a new color exterior every year
So I lived in this apartment for 7 years and at end they charged us $700 plus security deposits. They told us that we had to pay because the walls and the floor were dirty. How are they expecting us to have a clean walls for seven years?? The walls and the carpet will get dirty if we lived there for seven years. They try to make you pay for unnecessary reasons. The quality and the management has gone down every year. If I could I would give them 0 stars.
Barbara is absolutely amazing. She has always been nothing but kind and understanding to work with. Every time her and I have a conversation regardless if its something simple to something g complicated she is always kind to us.The apartment has changed a lot since moving in and Id say for the better.
She entered without a fuss took care of the problem efficiently and with good humor.
They used to be great. Management was reasonable and maintenance was excellent but they had everything changed. The new management doesnt care about long term quality tenants. They only care about maximizing what they can from you and disregard your needs. Management and maintenance has gone down the drain. We submitted a request to fix our fridge. Some of the food spoiled because they did not come on time. They claimed they received the request too late but I have proof otherwise. Management disrespected my already frustrated wife on the phone when we called in. Maintenance manager was also rude when he arrived. If you dont like your job, do something else. JIM used to work here and he was amazing. He was always pleasant and understanding. He even came in the middle of the night or Sundays to fix things with a positive attitude. It is your responsibility to provide good customer service. There is no way I will be staying here another year. I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Also they will not work with you if you want to move out but need an extra month or two as you transition. They will charge you full monthly price rather than your normal monthly cost which is about double. Most places would be reasonable with someone that has lived in their community for 3 years and always paid rent on time.If you decide to move here, you will be treated politely when you are signing a contract, after that they will be unreasonable with you. Expect nothing from this place.
We lived here for two years. The price was great when we started and wasnt horrible when we left compared to other two bedroom apartments in the area. The area was also really quiet which was nice. I would like to give this place more than two stars, but they just had too many cons to the place. They charge fees for having things on your patio because they dont want people to see your stuff. They give you last minutes notice when they want to do repairs, for example, they posted notes out on everyones doors the night before letting residents know that they would be repainting the parking lines and then they had a tow company remove all vehicles that hadnt been moved. Some neighbors had to pay the tow company for their cars because they had been on vacation and never received notice. I didnt have my vehicle taken in this instance, but did have mine towed at a later day for a similar reason. They also say you can get up to $250 back on your security deposit. We had it professionally cleaned when we left including deep carpet cleaning just to receive a whopping $42 in the mail. They also take a lot of time getting to all of the repairs because of the aging buildings. Hope this info can help you guys out.
Came home from work after a very long day to find a leak in my kitchen. It was 9pm and I had no clue what to do. Called the emergency maintenance line and to my surprise I had someone fixing the problem within 25 min. Thank you for such great work. I really appreciate it.
Ive had horrible apartment experiences in the past and I have lived here for about 4 months and I just wanted to say the staff here are amazing. They gave me a welcome kit and free pizza coupon when I first moved in. They have been super helpful and quick with anything I need help with. The maintenance staff have been super amazing as well. I had a leak and clog in my laundry room and they came the very next day and Jimmy unclogged and cleaned everything out for me. You guys are all awesome and thank you guys so much for everything!
The management here is always willing to work with you as you stay in good communication with them. The management is very sweet and caring.
The maintenance staff is responsive and capable, much better than other budget apartments Ive had. Seems like the management listened when people complained and now the crew is much better. Saved my fireplace just in time for Christmas. Thanks, Pat. Give them all a holiday bonus, or at least a pizza.
Alot of of tenants will be going unemployed due to the closings of many shops, and public places. (Including my boyfriend) we no longer have a way to pay rent. I hope the owner will do something to help us all in this time of need. We desperately need something to go good for once.
Its a pretty solid place to live. Lots of amenities and the apartments are clean and updated. Only annoyance is that the hot tub is often locked during open hours and you can very loudly hear the freeway from most apartments. However, they treat their residents really well! I have really enjoyed living here.
Love it here, 11 years and counting, it is clean and quiet, the staff is awesome, and the maintenance team is always there and ready to help with any issues.
We have enjoyed living here so far. Its quiet for the most part and people keep to themselves. Management has been nice.I like that there is a pool and hot tub, but I wish the hot tub water was hotter because my bath water is hotter than the hot tub.I also wish that people would clean up after their dogs! I have to watch my step whenever I take my dog out to make sure I dont step in someone elses dog poop that wasnt cleaned up. I clean up after my dog, so I wish others would or that the apartment complex would start issuing fines like the lease mentions if you dont clean up after your dog.
They will not fix thermostat I am handicapped and I don’t have a close parking stall to my apartment I slipped and fell on the ice trying to get to my car the other morning . Still in pain. They keep assigning parking stalls that are not existent I don’t have a place to park my car while every else does it is racist and I feel harassed . Contacted corporate no response. I hate this place
Overall not a bad place to live. Stairways and grounds could be up kept. Has tons of spiderwebs, leaves and some garbage. A good power wash and leaf blower would do the trick. Haha... like I said not a bad place.
The leasing process was made simple and easy. After apartment hunting for 4 months, James Pointe was the first place I toured that felt right. It had the right price, the perfect location, the positive reviews, and overall easy-going feeling. After living here for 1 month now, Jimmy did a great job at completing all my work orders after only 2 days of waiting (Thank you Jimmy). All the work was done promptly and thoroughly. The pool is great, the hot tub could use a good cleaning, but still okay. There hasnt been any issues with unruly or loud neighbors, and people seem to keep their dogs quiet and under control for the most part. As long as they dont raise the rent on me too high when I renew my lease next year, I could see myself living her for a long time.
The apartments are a little old but very well maintained. Barbara is so nice and helpful!!But the best part: maintenance. You know how in some places things wont get fixed like never? They have the very best person in maintenance:JIM! There are not good enough words to say how helpful he is! He has helped us even on sundays! All the neighbors say good things about him. Got a maintenance related problem? He will resolve it asap! Also this place is close to literally everything! Love it!
Love the area, neighborhood is close to shopping, bus and trax system. Management and maintenance have been great, by helping out with any concerns. Outside can be a bit messy at times, as people leave trash, cig butts and don’t always clean up after their pets. However overall it’s been a nice community to live in.
It’s a great location but the staff are all about avoiding problems instead of addressing them. They treat you nicely until you expect them to service your appliance, then the time changes and “you become the problem.” When someone parks in your paid parking stall, instead of towing them, you’re told that “you aren’t actually entitled to that stall,” even though it’s specified in the contract that you are, and no one will be towed unless you can prove they’ve been there already for 24 hours. They’ll bill you for things you haven’t violated, then drag their feet and usually not refund even when proven in the wrong. Just a very disappointing setup, your typical corporate run operation with drones paid only enough to fill seats, not enough to care, uphold the law, or treat people in need like they matter.
They were not reasonable about security deposit. I reviewed the place with my parents to make sure it was clean, but no refund. They then said they will repaint each apartment after every tenant leaves and said that I needed to pay for that as well.Barbara was incredibly rude about it. I am the father of the tenant and I just hate to see my daughter get ripped off.
Wonderful place to live! The management and maintenance staff has been soo pleasant to work with. I have been very impressed this year in particular! The maintenance requests are prompt and thorough. When I had an account issue it was addressed and updated on the spot!I’ve lived here for about 3 years and been pleased with how friendly and respectful all the neighbors are as well.
Jim did a great job of repairing the loose carpet guide. It is obvious he takes great pride in his fine work.
Milestone Management / James Pointe are a large rental company with ironclad leases in their interest only.Monthly processing fee for automatic direct deposit.60 day minimum move out notice.65$ cleaning fee at lease termination but not listed on move out checklistHigh administrative fee for poor communication with tenants.1 recycling bin for 312 units and always has fines for improper use. Use the admin fee off 1 unit for signage explaining proper disposal.Does not enforce dog breed restrictionsNo grace period on rentFor price, units are outdated and walkways/outdoors dirty.Wont allow bikes stored on patio but dont offer alternative. For those with good credit deposit is low but they will keep as much as possible with no explanation. If you ask for itemized list there may be false charges and double billings. And they will charge you processing fee, again.Maintenance is friendly but usually understaffed.Always best to lease from smaller management compnaies.Auto response to negative reviews all for show.
There is no.wonder why this apartments have such bad ratings. Has gone even more downhill after the maintenance manager Willy and Jim left. I put in a work order for my fridge around 6,they didnt even come! The next morning all my things were going bad. I call the office onceno one came, then a second timeand I was yelled at by Karen. Then the new manager came to fix it, instead of doing i a good job heraised the coldness up to 9 and today all my milk and sourcream are frozen. Also, ive been telling the office that someone has been stealing my packages and they donteven care. Please, doyourself a favor and dont move here. They are old super rundown and people in the iffice are mean as well as the ne maintenance manGer.
Madison is so wonderful and sweet. Very helpful every time we come into the office.
I have lived at jamespointe 3+ years, management is turnstile. Staff comes and goes so often that tenants cant rely on anything coming from staff. Willis was prior maint. supervisor, treated residents poorly, stole from the maintenance shed along with at least one other staff mmbr, costs forwarded to tenants. Rotting wood is painted over, not repaired, late fees charged on credit balances and NOT refunded. If you have the misfortune of getting stuck on the west end of complex, be prepared for little to know maintenance. Mattresses and such left by dumpsters for MONTHS. MGMNT mindset, what cant be seen from the road isnt important. If youre looking to live in overpriced slums, jamespointe is for you. Units with 30 year old appliances with rent at least $870 which doesnt include water, sewer, garbage, pest control, covered parking, $pet rent if you have a pet. A 616 sq.ft unit will run almost $1000 dollars. The 616 sq ft units require going thru the bedroom to get to a bathroom so Small, no counter, sewer smells coming from the drains. When prior mngmnt did or didnt do something, Karen, the current mgr will tell you she has no control over prior mgmnts. Theres no accountability, dubious book keeping, slum like conditions. Building 11 3rd floor breezeway has a huge dark stain in the outdoor carpet which gets bigger after rain, theres a unit in the building where hoarders live, smoke in their Apt. When walking up to building it smells like walking into an ashtray. But its the west end of the complex and nothing will happen, another mgr will come, then another, and another....save time and money, headache and nausea, STAY AWAY
Reading these reviews is tragic. The management doesnt make their tenants a priority and then gives a weak apology as a response in the review section. What the heck? It just makes them look bad. 0 stars.
I have lived at James Pointe for 6 Years and it has been the best place i have lived by far! I love all the amenities they offer and how affordable it is to live here. They have an amazing pool, hot tub, and just installed brand new stainless steel bbq grills! They dont have a ton of extra fees like other places which is always a plus! I had an issue and Willis was very helpful and it was resolved quickly. Jimmy has fixed quite a few items in my apartment and is very kind. Maintenance is quick to respond and fixes things in a timely manner. I love the pond and have a dog who loves the new Dog Park! Thank you Milestone for all you do.
The apartment was horrible. I ended up moving after 6 months. My place had pests and things were constantly broken and I could never get assistance from the staff to have them fixed. Then after I threatened to leave they wanted to give me a fee to break. I paid it and I am having a close friend take care of the fees for me through the state of Utah.AVOID!!
I have lived here for almost 6 years now and I have to say... I Absolutely love it here. The management is amazing, the location is perfect, the matinance is always attentive and an amazing since of urgency . The grounds here are ALWAYS maintained and beautiful. I Absolutely love it here and happy to call it home.
If I could give zero stars I would. This is by far the worst place to live. Managment and maintenance do not care about you or your apartment. My heat went out in the middle of this winter, took them almost 3 weeks and dozens of phone calls for them to finally come fix it. And while in the middle of all that, we only got excuses from everyone who works in the office and that it was our fault. I had to purchase 4 heaters to keep my apartment above 50°. They wont even compensate me for what I had to go through. I have also put in a request multiple times for maintenance to fix our dishwasher but they tell us every time that they never got a request. They dont care if other people park in your PAID for parking spot. The worst thing about living at james point is the neighbors. All throughout the day to the wee hours of the morning, I hear stomping, yelling, and loud bass speakers. Good luck getting any kind of peace and quiet or sleep for that matter living here. And no matter how many times you call and complain about it, they make you feel like its your fault. They also dont take the law into any consideration if someone makes a noise complaint. You DO NOT tell the people that are being noisy who made the complaint, but sure enough thats exactly what they do, why do I know this? Because they told me. This place may be a convenient place to live givin its location, but do not live here, its been nothing but a nightmare.
Could use a remodel of the cabinets in bathrooms and kitchen. work orders take to long, longer than when i worked as a maintenance tech. Other than that we like our place.
Great place to live. They are pet friendly. Never seen any crime or problems here. Come enjoy it at #JamesPointeApartments and we love the swimming pool, gym etc... they have great maintenance people. They are very responsive and fix things in timely manner.
They used to be great. Management was reasonable and maintenance was excellent but they had everything changed. The new management doesnt care about long term quality tenants. Person who helped me was Very nice. However we were denied for having a speeding ticket on our record we passed ever other aspect they said its because of some new policy so if you have something as small as a speeding ticket dont waste three days applying not worth it.
Tired of coming home to my neighbors smoking in the hallways and people parking on my spot at night. Doesnt seem as though management cares about us good residents, that arent a problem. Have my notice to vacate.
Left a forwarding address to our new home after moving out for our final bill. After a month, still no final bill. We called and they said they would be mailing it, and we gave them our forwarding address again. A month later I get a call from debt collections -- we never paid since we never received a bill. Major ball drop! I am furious. Do not live here, the management and the office are a total mess.
Great management! It’s always very pleasant when I venture down to the office for packages. Work orders are completed in a timely manner. I’ve stayed for years for a reason!
Great service,Willis.came and fixed a pigeon problem I have asked for 15 yrs to fix. I am so thankful for him. He also fixed the board coming off the roof. Hes excellent at his job. Thank you.
First thing I would like to point out is Barbara was a huge help towards the end of my lease. Besides that I do not recommend living at this place at all, where do I start... After living at this apartment for 9 months into my lease my car was towed out of my OWN parking spot for not having my license plates outside of the vehicle when they had been like that for a whole year and a half already? The management was not helpful at all and said I would have to take up anything with the tow company. Second, the apartments themselves are very low quality compared to anything out there. My apartment smelled like cigarettes and burnt tortillas (I do not smoke) pretty much the whole year I lived there and nothing was ever done about it. Murray police was there at least once a week dealing with something at these apartments. About 6 months into my lease I received a phone call from a maintenance guy saying he was in my apartment looking at my water heater for some reason when I never had even put in a work order for him to be there so he was in there without my consent. Last but not least, where the water heater room was there was a huge amount of mold coming in and the maintenance guys took a whole week to come in and cut out a huge square in the wall and not even bother to re paint it or anything. I hardly ever leave reviews on anything but I feel like anyone moving here should know how they run things here.
I had a pretty good experience. The only issues I have had is the promptness of the maintenance. I mean I try to understand because they have a lot of residents, but at the same time, they should be prepared for that. But other than that, I can’t complain. I have lived in places where the maintenance was awful.
The new management has been a big improvement, problems are addressed in a more timely fashion. I would like to see coupons or ways to save money, just renewed and rent went up! Somewhat pricey for the age of the apartments but overall decent place to live. Biggest issue is with people not cleaning up after pets and the cost.
Hard too see building numbers... delivering to this place take a flashlight at night
Management came into my apartment for a bi-annual inspection. I have no issue with maintenance coming into my apartment, and understand that these inspections are necessary things. I was the last to leave the apartment, and I was gone all day for work. The people coming in to do the inspection LEFT MY APARTMENTS FRONT DOOR UNLOCKED ALL DAY. I cannot believe it. Who are you hiring that doesnt know to lock a tenants front door after entering? When I went to the manager to complain, all she had to say was Well we check them all before we leave. Obviously not. This apartment has been great to live in, and we are respectful and clean tenants. However I cannot recommend ANYONE to live here with a management team that would overlook something so serious and put my possessions at such risk.Stay away!
We submitted 6 work orders bc the AC went out that many times. We had a total of 32 days this summer with no AC, and in home temperatures from 80-92 (top floor), 21 of those days we had a unit to cool down our bedroom which was nice. Not fun being cooped up for so long though. The maintenance guys are super nice, the office people too.We stayed in a hotel multiple nights when we didn’t have the portable unit because it’s hard to sleep when it’s 85 degrees, and we’ve asked a few times for a few hundred dollars to be discounted off our rent for the troubles, nothing has come of those requests. If it were my apartment complex i would be a little faster to get a professional out, and a little more eager to give a rent discount. That would have made ours a 5 star experience.Overall great location, decent apartments, the AC frustration has made us very excited to become home owners though! :) i know the expenses fall on us, but we were so miserable for that time i would have payed it.
We have lived here for 3 weeks and already have had nothing but trouble!!! Management NEVER answers their phone. I call them probably 4 times a day. The day we moved in our kitchen counter was broken, our kitchen light wasnt working, and our AC was DRIPPING ONTO OUR ELECTRICAL!!! Isnt that something youd think they would check out before we moved in??? There were flies all over our apartment when we moved in. Management still hasnt gotten back to us about fixing our kitchen. Theyve promised over and over maintenance was coming and they never show up. They left a notice saying if I didnt remove my tiny pet carrier off my porch they were going to fine me $100. So they can get back to me when its something negative but they cant get back to me when I need help. HORRIBLE. Not to mention Ive called them over and over and every time I give up and just walk over there are two or three women just sitting around sitting BY THEIR PHONES NOT ANSWERING THEM. They need to seriously step it up or we are taking legal action.
Health issues. When management shows how much they value their tenants. The horrible smell coming from building G making me sick to my stomach and the swarm of flies that are unavoidable while walking up to the apartment building as I visit with family. When reports made to management are dismissed and they show no urgency to take care of the matter at hand. Health violations occurring and nothing is done to ensure the health of their tenants. How many days does it take them to clean out an apartment where someone died??
It may be loud due to maintenance, have a smoke detector that will go off for no reason from time to time, but for the most part, its been nice, quiet, and a cozy stay. And its pet friendly.
The assistant manager has been wonderful to work with as well as the other staff also maintenance is wonderful they are all always very helpful and there when you need them. As far as work orders they are on top of them!! If you are looking to move come to James Pointe
Great place. Friendly staff. The maintenance helps in a timely manner. Much better than springs of country woods.
The worst experience. Management doesnt answer their phone. They werent there to give me a receipt for a payment so I left it with an admin. Then they came back and said that I never paid it.Barbara is the worst, unresponsive whenever I needed help.
Awesome place to live anything you need is just minutes away food . clothing building materials you name it.
Rent is late on the 2nd. No leeway! I have a terribly noisy upstairs neighbor. Screams at her children constantly. Comes in late at night and stomps around. Sounds like a bowling alley up there. Management said they sent letters to her to be quiet, but if so, she ignores them. Not very good at keeping breeze ways swept and clean. Stairs are also bad. Most of the apartments have the wide slat blinds. I had to ask for new blinds when I moved in and they gave me very, very cheap ones (crease if barely touched) and they did not cut off the excess. They would not replace the sliding door blinds which are filthy and very old.
I absolutely LOVE it here! I live in a one-bedroom on the bottom floor, and the walls and ceiling are so thick that I have never heard my neighbors, plus my utility rates are low because it is so well insulated that I dont have to run the heat or a/c as much. My maintenance calls are always immediately responded to, the office staff is extremely helpful and pleasant, I know all of my neighbors since we share a love for dogs, and it is a very quiet complex. The only reason I am leaving is because I am moving out of state, otherwise I would stay for the next 10 years since I enjoy my view of the waterfall and pool, plus they are building a brand new dog park soon so I am bummed I will miss out on that! I heard horror stories that my rent would be hiked up when I went to renew, but that was not my experience at all. Even if you are not as much of a dog lover as I am, I would still highly recommend this complex if you are looking for peace & quiet and being centrally located to every store, restaurant, and freeway in town.
We have lived here for almost 2 years and it has been an ok experience. Apartments are old and pretty small. The staff isn’t always very friendly. We have also had a bug problem.
I pay way too much for how run-down the place is. The fireplace has never worked, the porch is caving and scary to step on, the heat/AC is a joke. Our dryer vent nearly caught fire because, we found out, they hadnt cleaned the internal vents out like theyre required to do at least once a year (which, of course, they tried their hardest to blame on us, saying our dryer was the source of the problem), and then when they cut a huge hole in our laundry room to get rid of the burnt piping, they left it for a month. A MONTH. They said that we couldnt use our dryer until they fixed it, and they would fix it in a week. Reasonable and totally understandable. Week passes, we email for an update, and they say itll be one more week. TWO weeks after that, I emailed them today because we havent seen anything get done. A month without a dryer after saying youd fix it within the week? Unbelievable. Awful communication, they dont tell you anything, they try to peg problems on you, and they dont follow through with promises. They also took money out of my roommates account without their permission to pay rent. She paid online once, but she NEVER set up automatic deposit. Office refused to refund money, so we paid double rent one month. Like other people have said, theyll find any excuse to milk money out of you.Do. Not. Move here. I cant wait for the lease to be up.
I love that pets are allowed and the events are the cherry on top
So far so good! They are on top of getting back to you if you have questions or any other needs. We havent had any major problems. I think the rooms are a bit small for what you pay for, but I understand the the price of things are going up as well (bittersweet). I also think it is slightly around $700+ (depending on size of apartment) expensive to live here (compared to my last place, might as well make mortgage payments towards a house), but other than that it is good for now until I can find something better later. There are some minor repairs that needed attention when we first moved in. They were really good about working with us though. For an apartment, like I said, it is a good place to live.
Do not move into this place. They dont sublease and will make you pay so much money to end it. They have zero empathy to health situations, family being deceased, or when your paycheck comes in: they want more and more money. There are so many dogs in the complex and poop everywhere.Hardly anything they say is reliable. They change their policies or whatever so often that I couldnt keep track and ended up paying so many fees. The apartments in the 700-900 per month range: NOT WORTH your money. The amenities are so out of date. My shower didnt even have running water out of the shower head when I lived there the first month. Impossible to get a hold of for a work order. The staff are so unhelpful with almost anything.**the area is pretty high in crime rate, drugs, and accidents. Driving is a nightmare and traffic is extremely heavy during the day. Plan 45 minutes ahead for anything.
Over all nice place to live. In a convinet place for the mall, stores, restaurants. Nice staff
This place is rock bottom. Go anywhere else. The management couldnt care less about you or your family, they wouldnt work with us on anything, and even failed to make good on services we were paying for (like pest control). Awful place to rent.
Weve lived here since 2014. When we first moved in, the complex was quiet and clean. The longer weve lived here, however, the worse things have gotten. Theres dog poop EVERYWHERE - I never walk on the grass if I can help it. Last summer the hot tub was either not working at all or had been closed by the Health Department. The maintenance staff is very responsive and friendly, but the management staff seems to turn over frequently. When we had an infestation of black widow spiders in our outdoor storage closet last year, we asked the apartment if they could take care of it, since we pay a monthly pest control fee. They said they would spray for the spiders, but would simply spray the insecticide all over our things in the closet. We had to take care of it ourselves, since we didn’t want our camping equipment and seasonal decorations covered in toxic spider spray. In the past few months, several unruly neighbors have moved in to the building next to us and made us seriously reconsider renewing our lease. Ive been woken up at two in the morning by cars with thumping sound systems and drunken yelling. Ive found used needles and burned pieces of foil in the parking lot. I never let my kids out of my sight and tell them to never pick up anything they find on the ground. The apartment also contracts with a predatory towing company, who placed a notice this morning on my car that it would be towed if I didnt fix a problem within 24 hours. When I called the office, I was given an extension until Monday (its Thursday today). The problems are quickly compounding and I would not advise moving here.
Still waiting on the part for the fan.Put in a request for new burners, 2 weeks ago still waiting
I LOVE my apartment here. It is a beautiful place to live and is in a very central location.
This apartment complex is HORRIBLE. Yes, its close to the freeway and yes they are close to Sams Club, walmart and other groceries stores but I rather drive one hour in traffic than live in these apartments. The service here is horrible. Ive put in multiple service invoices for the same problem. There was one week where we didnt have a working toilet and I had to call my own handy man to fix the toilet. When it snowed during the winter no one shoveled the parking lot or the side walks until after I called because cars were sliding all over the place. I also saw some of the residents shovel and lay their own salt on the side walks. During the summer time we had bugs in our apartment even if we paid for James Pointe to spray the outside of the apartment. When I called to ask what was going on they said thats what happens in Utah during the Summer but Ive lived in older buildings than this in Utah. They were not helpful at all. They showed no kind of sympathy. One last thing, when you sign your contract they make you give a 60 day notice saying that youre going to move out. If you miss it by one day theyll charge you for a whole month even if you are not going to be living there. ONE DAY !!!!This is the worst place to live in Utah. THE ABSOLUTE WORSE!
Great location. Id love to give a 5 star review, but there are some little quirks about the units that prevent me from doing that. Low water pressure when others are using water in surrounding units is one of them. The MAJOR issue I had was with the towing company the complex hires to enforce parking rules. I was working on renewing my registration, so I had my car parked in my spot (because I couldnt drive it until it was renewed). We had an appointment set with our mechanic to get the car fixed so we could pass emissions. Unfortunately, our car was towed from out of our own spot because the registration was expired. Why do they let Slickrock towing enforce the laws, (which we were not even breaking) when I already pay taxes for law enforcement. Extremely frustrating experience. Cost me $220 and delayed me from renewing my registration even more. Also, the sign posted in the front for slickrock towing, is very misleading. It says one price, but the price is actually much higher. We also moved in last fall and LOVED the fountain! That is one of the big reasons we moved in. Today is June 10 and it still is not turned on for the summer. Makes me sad that one of the big selling points for us is not working. I guess thats what we get for renting... haha
James Pointe Apartments isnt worth the trouble. If you dont read my entire review take use these 5 points away to avoid a headache for yourself.1. They use predatory contractors to try and pressure you out of money. (Example: towing companies that illegally tow vehicles)2. They charge a monthly fee for pest control, but will not pay a contractor to eradicate the problem. (Example: Two separate black widow infestations and frequent mice problems, had to pay for my own pest removal each time.)3. Pool is often closed by the health department and the apartment complex fails to disclose the reasons.4. Exposed to drug paraphernalia by multiple attendants and seems to be increasing. (Example: junkie needles, tin foil, and other materials are scattered around the premise.)5. They will not fix anything, though it is required by law. (Example: upstairs neighbor flooded our apartment and destroyed a significant portion of our ceiling. 3 years later there is still an exposed hole in our roof that looks into the apartment above.)Do not move here! It is not family friendly, unsafe at night and the grounds are covered in dog feces. After having heard a gang fight outside of our apartment window at 2 am, we will be seeking another location that doesnt raise their fees exorbitantly year after year.
No one knows what their job is. Holly is why they call blondes dumb, she is a twit. I asked a simple question, do you charge for defleaing when moving out? we charge a pet deposit. I told her I dont want to waste money and time on application fee, I have this on my credit. Oh well that wont matter, we can work with you for a higher deposit. I was denied, they got 50$ off me. After reading the real reviews for this place Im glad I was denied.
Maintenance has been fairly prompt. Front desk has been very kind and happy to answer all of our questions. Tennis courts are pretty nasty. Its all dog poop. And the stairs on our building need to be fixed. My roommate fell and broke her foot on them.
Multiple issues, trapped in a lease until February. They dont do anything to address noise complaints, have had to call the police on one neighbor for domestic violence. New neighbors are young guys who party until 3AM on weeknights on their balcony. The Classic apartment style hasnt been updated in 30 years, so if you do rent here spend the extra money and get the updated model with new-ish appliances and cabinets.
Slow on maintenance great location close to the freeway.
I have ask them to fix things in the apparment and they take more than 3 monts to fix them.On Thursday I ask them to fix the clogged dishwacher because the apartment is stinky and they told me they have more than 136 orders to finish which is no my problem because if I dont pay on time right away the charge a fee, and today (Monday) I couldnt finish to wash the dishes because the water was all over the place. Im not asking for a brand new dishwasher only to get it unclog but I guess that is to much to ask.My advice to everyone is to stay far away from this place, is not worth the headache
Everything about the apartments are cheap and run down. No control over the tenants that move in, so you are dealing with bad neighbors and bad management. Dont move in here.
They were awful about repairs. The ballast in our kitchen light went out on a Friday, and they said they might not be able to get the maintenance guy out to fix it until Monday. There was, quite simply, no way we could use our kitchen in that condition. It took threatening to hire an electrician and take the money out of the next months rent for them to get the guy to our apartment that Friday. It pays to know your rights as a renter, especially if you live here.
I just need someone to please fix the damn hole in the ceiling above my shower that maintenance made... I really dont ask for much it just smells horrible and Im running out of duct tape. Its been 3 months and I am so tired of calling to ask for it being fixed. Also Ive had a really stuffed up nose at night for the past few months and my father-in-law said its most likely related to the mold from the hole. It makes it hard to sleep then when Im woken at 7:00 am to someone sawing off tree branches right next to my window...sigh... makes for a long day.
Tends to be cheap rent for this part of town and is in a convenient location, plus plenty of parking and shade trees. Thats the positive. There are things that overshadow the positives: shoddy maintenance, where they show up 3-4 days after you reported a problem, and do a very slipshod repair job if anything at all. Lack of enforcement on dog breed restriction rules means that you may have to take care with protecting your small pets from pit bulls and Rottweilers if their owner hasnt trained them properly. But more than anything, its the deceptive lease practices that offend me. Read the fine print on the lease very carefully! The low rent price is made up for by charging you odd fees that most places include, like water/sewer/trash, but without any meter readings to determine the actual amount you should be charged. They will charge you a fee for sending you your bill! Small amount, but annoying when most places charge you a flat fee for rent and you dont NEED any kind of statement. They also have odd lease lengths and will raise your rent every single time your lease is up, without fail. Keep in mind that they require a 60 day notice before move out at the end of your lease, twice as long as the standard throughout the industry, and if you DO give your notice, make sure you have a copy of the notice signed by office management as proof you did so. They require renters liability insurance as well (its a good idea to insure your stuff anyhow, but they want LIABILITY insurance so they can make a claim against you). So once you take the low rent price, add pet rent if you have a pet, add the variable and completely unverifiable charges they ding you for utilities, add the required renters insurance, and the fee they charge you for the privilege of knowing how much you owe, you will find that you are paying slightly above average every month for the area and size of apartment. And heaven forbid if you should pay your rent on the second instead of the first! Fees charged every day past the first with no grace period whatsoever.TL; DR version- Completely non-standard practices make sure your low rent is actually the same or more than everywhere else equivalent, with aging and low maintained apartments not worth it.
Every time this property gets sold they care less and less for their residents. Everyone around me has their apartment falling apart in one way or another... rent has gone up almost $400 since my wife and I moved in. The worst part is there have been numerous vehicle break ins over the past few weeks and the property management isnt doing anything about it. I wouldnt recommend anyone moving in here unless this was youre absolutely last option.
Its really annoying that they always used very laud machines to cut the grass and clean up the pool and sidewalks, pluss they take for ever, pritty much the whole day to get done. We have an amazing view to the pound but it doesnt matter because we heard lauder everything from here. I wish have an apartment far away of the grass and the pool. Seriously, I have a baby... and when I finally can put her in bed to take a nap I just cant, I just have a headache!
