THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE OR RETURN CALLS. I desperately need to speak with my case worker but Can NEVER get in touch with the office. That is ridiculous! I will be contacting the DHS State Office directly about this because this is insane!

The clerk was not a polite and courteous person. Indifferent, short in responding my questions, didnt allow time to ask more questions, call the police officer??? Could not understand why?? They looked at me unfriendly. They are service public offices, they must try to treat the public with an adequate tone of voice and serve with courtesy and polite manners.

After proving information that Have a 6yr old and no income since delivering my child Aside from my 400 check they determined I was over income for assistance for the month of October.why do you have to have 10kids only worked 2jobs your whole life to get help?!! I literally called 15 times today to only speak with one fast talking representative very disappointed

Pretty decent service. The security guard gave the kids snack bags. Staff come and clean and mingle in lobby. They are kind and friendly. Even the wait time was decent. However if your application was online like Washingtons is it would decrease your carbon footprint, help organize, and time management better overall.
No copier now you habe to make copies before you go there now. Heads up ladies
Keep your address updated to avoid any complications, turn in ALL of your paperwork and youll be fine . Doing online applications and submitting files/paperwork online saves so much time and in my experience gets everything processed faster and you can avoid the line .

They really need to expand the offices. It is too small for demand. They make you wait in line just to turn in paperwork or ask a question. Calling them is out of the question because the phone doesnt get answered. The state needs to do better. They deserve a better workplace and a lighter workload!
Nice staff and the wait time when I go is usually not too bad. Longest Ive waited was a hour. But oh my they NEVER answer the phone. If you need just a simple thing done that would be a inconvenience to have to go in to talk about their not gonna answer you cor two weeks straight! I dont understand why are they busy or just ignoring people
This place is a very busy but very helpful place for everyone. If u need any kind of assistance then this is the place to go. The employees are very helpful and go above and beyond to help everyone.
Its ok but it could really use some improvement as far as helping people get the things they need done in a more timely fashion instead of having people wait forever to talk to somebody. Plus it wouldnt hurt to do some remodeling since this building is old and its could use a good deep cleaning so when people come in they feel more comfortable instead of feeling like your gonna catch a cold or something.

You now can also do an application on line which and save you the embarrassment Or shame of having to ask for help or receive benefits because of your current situation .This U staff members I have met have been nice I know how to answer questions you may have about the process. I have a case worker that has went above and beyond to assist me as we were living way above our means and had something to happen that changed our life dramaticallyIn 48 hours we received emergency food stamps and I was able to have a surgery within 5 days as they a approvedbmy benefits and Contacted my surgeon to let them know it would be covered so I could have the surgery I needed

Just went in there to get something faxed. It seems to be more organized than before. It also didnt take as long for me to get what I needed and get out of there. They now homage a computer you can sign into to let them know youre there and the reason youre there.
I went in the morning to apply for an EBT card. The guard told me exactly what to do. I registered on the computer and was helped almost immediately. The caseworker was very helpful. At the end she told me to expect a call after 9 AM to determine eligibility. I talked to someone from Gainesboro, TN and gave her the required information. She said that I have to bring a rental receipt and a phone receipt to the local office within ten days in order to qualify for benefits. The major complaint is that when you call the office no one picks up and you are forced to leave a message. Calls are not returned.

Best time to go is at 1pm on a Tuesday! There was 3 people inside, not busy at all.

Electronic check in is good, but representatives still disappear from the front. Waited over 30 minutes just to ask a question. Not sure why there is a woman up front who is not allowed to help anyone.
When you walk in there needs to be a sign that says line starts here. I thought the sign keep right meant to not block the door from people entering. I havent been in there for nine years a the entry windows had changed and I didnt know so I went to the same window I went to years ago. I ended up going to the wrong window in which others accused me of cutting line. When I finally got into the right line everyone was irritated and complaining about how slow moving this place is run. Be ready to stand in line for a long time.

Theres a gentleman that works at the dhs Murfreesboro location that certainly deems himself higher than others. When a good family that has suffered a complete loss and homelessness from a house fire, goes hungry for weeks due to a mistake made by this person and he doesnt care to even mention that he plans to pre-extend his holiday with vacation time when he knows he has some cases that likely need attention before he takes off in the middle of the week and causes innocent small children to go hungry, especially on Thanksgiving day, then its time to contact the media and let them know all about this insubordinate individual. Theyre not asking for a big turkey with all the trimmings like Im sure his family enjoyed. These hard working parents would have appreciated the good food his family likely threw away. Im tempted to post your full name but take this time to decide if this is a type of job for you. Even if its with no compassion or understanding of what youre doing, at least just do your job. Dont bother calling. Youl be on the line listening to crap for 10 minutes before it starta actually ringing and they still never answer. Half the workers are lazy and liars trying to get you out of the door before youv even gotten the chance to explain a case. They will tell you and deny you with whatever they can think up for that day just to get out of having to do their jobs for once. However, Ive had luck a couple of times being there having a half decent person to give me the information i needed. This place definitly needs some upgrading/inspection/SOMETHING.Its sad that your forced to make a trip all the way to come in if you have one simple question or problem because after hours of calling not one person will answer the phone or return a message. Not only that but here you will be for the next hour/hour and a half STANDING in a line, with 1-2 people working at the windows, and almost always one of the 2 is just sitting there chatting away or attempting to look busy with her finger up her butt.Not pleased.

I will never go to the first window ever, i was denied assistance as a first time pregnant mother. The lady at the first window told me that nothing will change in my case because Im pregnant. This is the fourth time ive had problems with the same woman. She said she didnt need my proof of pregnancy or anything. I really think she should retire if shes there to tell people any old lie she can come up with.
