If I can rate zero stars, I would. This place has been nothing, but headaches for me. When I first moved in the apartment was in awful condition, because the roommate I was paired with wasnt the cleanest. Then they tricked me into signing two leases one for 3 months and another for 1 year. I told them I wanted to try it for 3 months to see if I liked it and they said I had to sign the second to stay for the first 3 months. You are better off paying an extra $150 and getting a full apartment across the street at Birchwood, without roommates all utilities included. Also, SQ Hazelwood will charge you for anything once you leave. Not to mention they gave me a parking permit that expired one month after I moved in, and then had my car towed which I had to pay $250 to get it back. Also I had the apartment cleaned before I moved out and they charged me over $350 for cleaning fee. Also maintenance comes when they feel like it.I notice they for sure write their own 5 star reviews, its renting season so they want to look their best. Theres a saying you get what you pay for. I paid roughly $677 a month utilities included. Its not a bad price, but not worth the headaches, and hidden fees they slap you with. Save your money and time, look elsewhere.

I would give 0 stars if I could. The week after we moved in our car was towed....$250 to get it back.We moved here Jan. 2019, and always paid the rent on time and were good tenants, but when I lost my job, and my boyfriend too within a months time, they wouldnt work with us, they just wanted us out. We both got other jobs, but they didnt give us time to catch up, or work w us at all.We left July 2019 and they said the final charges were $1400. It was turned over to collections,we settled it last month and have a PIF Letter from the collection agency. We have been denied for 4 apts because Student Quarters Hazelwood keeps sending Rental verifications that say we still owe it.This is so unfair to us...we cant get an apt because of it.

Lived here for 2 years (2019-2020-beginning of 2021). Staff was friendly and all but not very accommodating. One time I came back from a weekend long trip to Huntsville to see my mom and I came back to an apartment that was 98 degrees in July. No one could help me apparently and many of my items were Damaged. Apparently a mower hit the ac unit outside and it was spilling hot air into my apartment for 3 days in July. Oh! And also, Once saw a guy carrying a pile of cash to his car from the apartment complex. A pile! Treadmills were broken for 3 months. (Was extra salty about that). They never did fix my leaky window after two times telling them. Oh and TWO of my bikes were stolen from the racks. Police and SQ did nothing the first or second time. Also good luck enjoying your weekends on the porch. Music blasting From sun up to sun down from the buildings across the street. Not kids either. An actual house that has parties every weekend. Music is super aggressive too. the Upsides are that you can bike to campus and that there were no problems with pests. Totally would not recommend and got out before my lease was up. Best of luck to you if you’re searching For student housing. (MTSU grad student in the RIM dept.)

I had absolutely terrible experiences with this apartment complex. I will definitely not be renewing my lease. My window leaked every time it rained for nearly 4 months until my grandma had to duck tape it, and maintenance didn’t do anything about it after I complained more than 4 times about it. On my application, I specifically written that I wasn’t a smoker, and they still put me in a 3 x 3 unit with a smoker. The worst experience I had with Student Quarters Hazelwood is that the office gave me a expired parking sticker and my car was towed a few months later. If you’re new to renting your first student apartment, do not waste your time at the Hazelwood. The overages were the worst. They have 1 year & three month contracts, and at a certain point of my stay, I was nearly paying the rent prices of Aspen Heights. Never again 👎👎👎👎👎

I would recommend any student on campus to these apartments, they are very clean and it’s a quiet neighborhood. The people in the office are very helpful, you can tell they care about their residents. Mr.Hunt, who works in the office, helped me through my application process. He was thoughtful and made sure I understood everything I needed to know. Any questioned I asked he had an answer for. Overall, this is a great apartment complex and they have great people working for them!

I have now lived here for a couple years, and the reason is solely 1) the rent is one of the most affordable for college students and 2) their leases are practically impossible to get out of.For the most part, the place itself isn’t terrible. The amenities are average and the maintenance does their part. Basically, you get what you pay for. The small complex is close to campus and I’ve never felt unsafe.Every thing is fine until you run into a problem. If you have a pet that doesn’t get along with others, they will ask, but they won’t oblige by not giving you a roommate with a pet. If a space is open, they are going to rent which I get, but also I don’t get, because why even ask at the beginning if when it comes down to it you don’t care??? They should have just been upfront about this at the beginning. It leaves for a difficult living situation when they don’t take our pet and even our own safety into consideration. Also, their random roommate system is a joke. If you have an empty space in your unit, and they have a random new leaser, guess what? You get a random roommate that in fact does not “match” you whatsoever (again what’s the point in asking??).The office staff used to be the best. When I signed there was a leasing consultant, Leia, who even gave me her number to reach out to her personally for problems. After she left, I felt like any time I ran into a problem I was left unheard. I had renewed my lease right before a huge problem occurred in my unit last year with a new roommate (who moved in in the middle of the year— which is what I was referencing when I said they don’t care about matching). They pester you about renewing early because of the cheaper prices, but then once you sign you are doomed. This roommate problem arose BEFORE my new lease began, and I became MISERABLE living here because of it. Due to the whole mess, I just wanted to move out of this apartment, but I had just renewed a few weeks prior. I went to the office staff, but it is near impossible to break a lease here and they had no remorse on the situation that had just occurred. So I was/am stuck here, but will finally move out in July (a year later). All I am saying is go into moving here knowing it’s hard to break a lease, and dealing with the office is more of a headache than anything. If you dont run into any problems, you should be fine, but if you do, good luck!~Side note: after reading many other reviews, I’m starting to believe the office writes their own reviews?? There are many on here that all date “a week ago” and practically all say the same thing. Probably cause it’s renting season and they are on the prowl. Don’t be easily deceived.

My friend has lived at Student Quarters for the past 2 years, and I have regretted not moving in with him last year. It’s the best value of all the surrounding apartments and they have excellent customer service. Most specifically Mr. Hunt at the front desk. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have signed my lease for the next year. The combination of an excellent personality and persistence to ensure that I was getting the best value makes him a very appreciable leasing consultant. I like that the apartments are very close to campus, but I do not recommend living here. When I first moved here, the landlord told me and my family that one of my roommates had a baby and that the baby was there only part time. She also told us how quiet they were and that they would be no problem.Living with this girl turned out to be a nightmare. The baby was there full time and she would be up and running around the apartment at 4 am. She moved her girlfriend and another friend of hers in. At one point there were 7 people living in our 4 bedroom apartment at one time. One of her friends were staying on the couch, so me and none of my roommates were able to hangout in the living room. It wasnt fair that her friends were living at the apartments for free. They would use the washer and dryer by constantly washing large loads of clothes and it was coming out of our rent. I had to go to the laundromat a few times because I wasnt able to use it. My roommates friends were eating our food, smoking marijuana, and being loud at night. They would pack the freezer full to where we couldnt fit anything in there. We had to complain to the office 7 TIMES before they did anything. These people were living in the apartment for about 3 months. After my old roommate moved out, the office moved in another girl. This girl threw threats at us, ate our food, and stole something out of my other roommates room. After complaining to the office about her, they did nothing. It took a physical altercation between her and one of my roommates, for the office to do anything. Also, if you have a bug problem, the office charges you for pest control. All 4 of us were charged $40 each for pest control even though its stated in the lease that PEST CONTROL AND WATER COMES OUT OF YOUR RENT. The landlord and property manager tells you stuff that you want to hear. They will lie to your face. I should have taken my chances at The Pointe.

TERRIBLE APARTMENT DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! Where do I start. The apartment was in terrible condition the day we moved in, and when they sent a cleaning crew they did a piss poor job and left it no cleaner than it started out. The dishwasher was broke and leaking puddles for weeks, and the sliding door on our ground floor apartment didn’t lock, endangering my roommates and I in an already unsafe and crime filled apartment complex. It took months to get fixed. The pool was closed off the entire year until the last 2 months, and the hot tub was never open. The air conditioner didn’t work for 9 months and there was no free cable TV.The apartment reeked of cigarettes, and the carpet had a large black stain in it, AND THEN THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME TO REPLACE IT. The employees were unhelpful and when they would send someone to fix things they wouldn’t tell us when they were coming. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with my stay at Student Quarters Hazelwood, and I will never recommend anyone live here. There was a stabbing 15 feet from our front door and random people and drug addicts frequently walked up to our sliding porch door.Do not stay at this Student Quarters. There are much better, safer, and cleaner apartments in Murfreesboro.

Student Quarters Hazelwood is a great place to live. The staff members are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. SQ is perfectly located on a quiet road .5 miles from MTSU Floyd Stadium and roughly 1 mile from the nearest grocery store. Murfreesboro’s public transportation authority, The Rover has a bus stop at the entrance of the apartment complex, so trips to The Avenue or Walmart are available for anyone without access to a vehicle. The clubhouse is immaculate, and their computer lab is super convenient because it is open even after the office is closed. The maintenance crew are extremely efficient, and complete work orders in a quick timely manner. I feel safe living at SQ Hazelwood, and would highly recommend moving here.

My daughter attends Middle TN State. After viewing several properties near and around the university we chose Raiders Crossing. Her unit is located in a nice quiet portion of the complex and its very nice that she can walk to school. The roommates she was paired with are also very studious and they all get along very well. The computer lap is also a nice feature for the girls and they seem to use it all hours of the day and night. One of the girls has a little dog so the wood floor throughout the apartment make it really nice and easy to keep clean. We found other units in the area did not have these kind of upgrades. The property management team is always very helpful and available. The relationship I have made with the folks their puts me at ease knowing that my daughter is in good hands in my absence while she furthers her education. Raiders Crossing is a great safe place for the kids while away at school without spending a fortune.

For the most part, living at Student Quarters on Hazelwood is a pleasant experience. Upon moving in the apartment was in pretty good condition. All the floors were updated and my bedroom had just been updated with brand new carpeting and brand new furniture. However, my bathroom was not cleaned at all. The toilet and bathtub were filthy and the bathtub would not drain. Besides the lack of cleaning, move in was a breeze. As far as the difficult tub, maintenance quickly resolved the issue. The apartment itself has shown no new issues since I have been here. There is only one complaint I have for the entire apartment, and that would be the lack of sound insulation. However, this is a common problem for all apartments. The walls within the apartment as well as between separate apartments are far from sound proof. Footsteps from people above you can always be heard, but no voices (unless they are yelling at the top of their lungs). The staff at Student Quarters is a huge plus when living here. Every issue is usually resolved within a day if brought to their attention, and they respectfully try to help you in any way. Maintenance is also wonderful, in that a maintenance request is quickly tended to. Over all, Student Quarters apartments is a great place to live, especially while working toward achieving your career dreams at MTSU.

My best friend and I have lived here for around 4 months now and we love it. The rent is a little high because we have a two bedroom, but we fully understand that we’re paying for privacy. After two years of living hell staying on campus I was willing to try anything. Luckily, Hazelwood has been a fantastic place to live, especially for student housing. There’s free WiFi and free basic cable, we go over our electric cap almost every month but I think our last overage was $6 each. The maintenance has been hit or miss with little things, but they always fix major issues in a timely manner. We have no complaints about noise, which is a blessing. The apartment was NOT cleaned before we moved in, but we put in the work to dust/vacuum/etc and it looks beautiful now. We’re thinking about living with more friends here next year!

Honestly is sucks. You know it sucks if i took the time out my busy day with school and working a full time job to write this! I let a lot of stuff slide like going without heat last winter and looking like this winter again because they “ fix” the problem and the problem doesn’t get fixed. I’ve sat outside of my apartment in the cold for and hour and a half waiting on “ the emergency maintenance “ to get to my apartment to fix the lock that we’ve been said was broken but we were told it wasn’t working right because of the weather change and the wood swealing.. The communication in the office is horrible. There are only two people in the office that talk to you with respect and always handle things in an professional manner and when I figure out their names i will update this review. You would think the property manager was one of them but he’s not. I’ve been here for 3 years. The first year was great but this last year up until now has been very disappointing. At this point I’m still there because I signed a lease and it’s convenient. Wish they’d get some maintenance men that actually fix things and do their job. Instead of walking around smoking cigarettes. One came to my door smoking a cigarette. Looking like he wasn’t about to fix anything. And he didn’t. I’m just over it.*update* the two respectful people names are Jon and summer.

Im not upset with the staff, they are wonderful but this is ridiculous. I have to sleep on the couch yet again and Im just over it honestly. If you know this unit is prone to flooding, why not just state that? Knock off some rent? No one wants to wake up and step on wet carpet or have to throw things out because they got ruined. Roaches, terrible WiFi, AC went out in early summer months a few times, when moving in had to clean everything bc it was gross, water leaks, on site maintenance is non existent and when they were they would just walk in with no permission. Recently moved out and is charged unnecessary amounts for items. I had high expectations for a first apartment experience, and ended up wishing I didn’t waste my time and money on this place. I never do reviews, and thought I’d maybe save someone by writing this. My best advice, don’t waste your time here, they just want your money.

Overall this isnt the worst choice for students. The biggest pro is how close to campus it is. Its also a smaller community tucked behind two other properties so it feels like it deters crime. Also good for students who cant find people to lease with. These apartments typically have openings to match you up with fellow students, and your lease is separate from other roomies. This complex also has private bathrooms for every room so you dont have to share. The apartment has not kept competitive pricing and the rent has only continued to go up since I have lived here. (Understandable with the housing market here in Murfreesboro but still has gone up too much.) Would be more likely to renew if the rent was reasonable. I have friends with nicer furnishings and a pet fee at another complex just down the road. Their rent is substantially cheaper. (Speaking of furnishings, the couches here are terrible and fall apart within a year. Any kind of daily use results in the cheap fabric tearing)The maintenance folks have been hit or miss. Sometimes they do a great job and others they simply wont do repairs at all.The grounds are well kept however the complex does not keep the stairwells clean and have seen very gross trash in the walkways. (Per the leases it is up to tenants to keep stairwells clean. However you cant expect people to pick up trash that isnt their own.)Really nice clubhouse with a great gym. Internet and cable isnt too bad.The people in the office are super nice especially Summer and Cindy. However I wish it felt like the company cared more about its tenants. The owners are a big corporation and could care less. The people in the office will try to do their best, but they have to work around the company rules. Probably not the best bang for your buck, but it is convenient for MTSU students. Ive lived here for 3 years and would renew again if rent was cheaper and I wasnt graduating.

Lived in these apartments for three years while I was attending MTSU. Staff was always available + maintenance was always at my door when I needed something fixed. If I were to move back to Murfreesboro I would live here again!!

The stove dipped in the middle, the internet went out at least once every two months, had to call maintenance to fix our dryers 5 times in a row, the couches are made of some super low quality pleather that starting coming off within a few months in which I am now being charged $250 to replace said couches. All in all now that Ive moved out Im being charged out the --- because of the crappy amenities falling apart on their own. The staff isnt bad, just the property it self is terrible and if your tight on cash I suggest you find some where else.

I have lived here for going on two years now. It started off being a great place to live, but over the past couple of months it has not been enjoyable. The staff’s communication with the residents is awful. I’ve complained about certain maintence issues and smells in my apartment for over 3 months that have yet to get handled. I feel like the staff is very undertrained and never knows the correct answers to any of my problems or concerns.

Update: It was worth paying the $200 fee to break my lease. I will miss Mrs.Shelly.Currently a non traditional student and resident. I downsized to work on my second degree with fewer bills. Instead I got a bigger head ache. This is my experience:Pros:Fairly affordableSmaller communityAll inclusive billsClean groundsAcross the street MTSUCons:Had BEDBUGS the first month and a half and unprofessional/lackadaisical approaches to resolving the situation.Has become very noisyRandom changes w/o informing tenants in a uniform manner : not sending out overages, changed billing communication to email w/o notifying tenantsThe young staff are rude.HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION:Called The Friday before the monday our apartment was to be renovated; but, only explained it as a simple removing of carpet to replace with fake wood. After almost 9hrs was still told we couldnt go into our apartment they werent done. When complete and we could finally get in, they left the apartment a MESS.Some belongings were left on the patio, things thrown over the counter. We were not given enough prior notice and detail to the degree of changes that left is displaced.

I live there, and all my friends do so we all share this same experience. The Wifi is not usable, and many of the appliances they provided were either sub-par or broke after moving in (my hallway lights were literally dismantled, and my girlfriends washing machine broke and maintenance left it outside her door and said she can install it. My couches were scratched up badly and its been 4 months and they havent even inquired on fixing it after multiple attempts) Their are more. the apartment overall was very dirty when we moved in. They do not really provide you with internet like most apartments, they tell you to go buy a router, and Cable box then you can use the services. The apartment is not worth the slight discount you receive, The Internet is literally not usable, and I promise you if you value internet (work school games etc) you will be forced to buy new internet on your own (I did multiple internet tests where the upload speed came back 0.1 kb/s). It is also not that safe as other reviews say, as there have been multiple shootings not far away from SQ hazelwood.
