Judy D.I have a wild story & heres the abbreviated version. Im a senior citizen & know very little about computers & technology. Larry Demmitt has been helping me for many years. I have complete trust in him & have referred many friends to him. Hes resolved small & big problems but never one stranger than this. Last Fri a tech from a large company, both of whom shall remain nameless, came to set up tivo for me. To do this, he said for some reason that he would first have to connect my TV with my computer & install WIFI. I later learned that this didnt make any sense. As soon as he left, I tried to check my email. The cursor wouldnt work & that was just the beginning. I had to discover that he had removed at least a couple of USB plugs & reversed them as well as unplugged my speakers to make room for the WIFI electrical plug on the surge protector under the desk. So it was clear that he was responsible for my computer suddenly not working, working improperly & changing back & forth between working & not working. There were constant error messages, pop up messages & directions that I didnt understand. When I called the company, they said that they couldnt help me because their techs dont work on computers! So I called Larry Monday morning. He came that afternoon. By the time he arrived, the computer had locked up. He was amazed & said things were so messed up that he couldnt imagine how the tech had achieved it or why he would bother with the computer at all. Initially Larry thought he might even have to wipe the computer clean & start over again. For a while he couldnt get the Malware scan to work. Eventually he cleared up all the problems. He said that his guess of what had happened was: the tech was trying to update a driver in order to install wifi & in so doing accidentally downloaded the slim ware driver update virus. Larry then made sure that everything was working before he presented me with a very reasonable bill. This is just one example of why Larry is a hero to me!
