Tried renting a 26ft truck for Friday and bring it back on Saturday they wanted to charge me an extra day 99.99 bucks because there store wasnt open when I was bringing it back. Um no you have a drop box has to be a person they said. So im paying for 24hrs Friday at 4 to Saturday at 4 but because your store closes at 11am I have to pay an extra day and not get my 24hrs and then let truck sit in my driveway till 9am Sunday heck no just stupid.
DO NOT USE THEM! Rented me a moving truck with a blown tire!! Then had to wait on the side of the highway for over 4 hours to be fixed! Best part they want to refund me $40. We could have a severe accident as the tire was so bad the rim was bent. AWFUL!!! Pay a little more and use another company. Check the BB their reviews of these types of things are on going and never ending. Yikes!! Wish I looked further.
Reserved a truck 3.5 weeks ahead of time and they call 2 days before pickup, on a holiday before a weekend, and tell me they dont have a truck. What good is a RESERVATION? If I could give the 0 stars, I would!
This place is great for box truck rentals... very friendly and accommodating.
I rented a truck from here on the 20th of May, 2015. I rented a 24 foot diesel truck, the largest Budget offers. I have several issues with the service received. First, though, I want to stress that the people at this location are fine. They were helpful and courteous. I repeat: I have no problem with the people at this location. The people are the only reason I am not giving a one-star review. I have problems with the company overall.First, the truck was a wreck. One of the tie-down rails in the box was off completely, leaving a nail-filled board for me to contend with, and several of the other rails were about to fall off. this meant I could not tie down my belongings where I needed to. At the top front corner on the right side was a sharp and twisted piece of metal. This truck should not have been rented. The air conditioning did not work at all. While this might not be an issue in Canada, or during the winter, I assure you that in Mooresville, NC on a day that approached 90 degrees, it was an issue. I would not be bothered by this if there had been some warning, or a discount for a truck with no A/C, but there was none. I have rented U-Haul trucks before and the A/C has always been fine. Finally, and perhaps worst of my equipment woes, the appliance hand-truck was crap. It was worn out, with a bent box-carrier, and a strap worn nearly through. I would not trust this with a refrigerator. Worst, though, the single strap was at a level too-high to use for washer and dryer. I had to use my own large hand-truck and a ratchet strap to secure my washer and dryer. Meaning that the rented hand-truck was useless.I called the budget customer-service number, and was told that the best they could do was give me 15% (yes, 15) off the base-rate of the truck. This amounted to $7. The (useless and damaged) hand-truck cost me $17 to add to the rental. I later called back to talk to a supervisor. After waiting (phone ringing) for the supervisor to answer for 12 minutes, I finally gave up. I am going to go into the location tomorrow and try to get some sort of satisfaction, but right now I suggest that everyone go to U-Haul. I have had a terrible experience with Budget. The people at this location are fine, but the company is terrible. GO TO U-HAUL.
Always great service
