My 9 year old daughter was falling a little behind before the Pandemic closed our schools. Remote learning also led to being further behind. She makes good grades but the EOG testing was below average. Our other focus is to instill confidence when heading into 4th grade. We are two months into her tutoring. She is always excited to go and comes out grinning. We just had our second review and learned that she is thriving. As parents, we could not have been as effective, engaging, or encouraging as the team at Sylvan Learning have been. We highly recommend their program and team of teaching professionals!

My second grade daughter has been attending Sylvan for approximately 2 months. We have seen her confidence in reading and math increase dramatically! I can not express how grateful I am to this Sylvan Learning Center. I contacted them because my son needed help with his College Calculus I class. They allowed us to come in on short notice and always accommodate us. The owners are friendly and very flexible and Joseph, the tutor, is excellent!! I would highly recommend them if your child needs help with a subject.

I have worked at Sylvan for just over a year, and I love it. I love that my job is not to force kids to memorize facts, but to teach them how to keep learning outside of Sylvan. And the welcoming environment allows me to personally connect with the students and see them grow in beautiful ways. Its a great place to be.

His self confidence is building as he is learning strategies to help him with his spelling test etc... Home work time is becoming more positive and not such a battle. As a student at sylvan learning center I genuinely enjoy going there. I have been working on SAT and ACT Prep. I have finished the entire SAT prep course and it was tedious but also worth while. I am currently doing the ACT prep course and every time I take a practice test I can see my scores increase tremendously from the first time I had ever taken it. Ms. Marianne is amazing and has helped with my ability to write papers ranging from research papers to essays for english. Ive benefitted so much from being at sylvan!

Sylvan has been a good experience for my son. He is gradually developing self confidence. We have seen some improvements with homework as well. Even during the stay at home order. He has been able to continue with remote learning through Zoom meetings with his tutor. They have been understanding and worked with my son through these unusual times.

Son was struggling with math after our move across the country. After a meeting and testing session our son was given a plan of instruction. The staff and teachers are friendly and fun. Our Son looks forward to his learning sessions. Since he has started we have noticed grades are improving and he has a better understanding of the formulas and procedural part of his math work. His level of frustration and anxiety have lessened as his confidence has increased. His school math teacher has even noted seeing a positive difference in class participation. Sylvan has been one of the best things that has happened to me this year. I feel so blessed to have them. Through the short time Ive been with them, I have grown so much. I came into Sylvan at the end of year needing an A in my math class, and with the help of the wonderful Kelly York, I was able to finish my math class with an A! I am also doing reading and writing courses through Sylvan and my AP grade also improved five points. They have a wonderful staff of teachers who have made my school life so much easier and stress free. To anyone who is skeptical or worried about going, just do it and you will be so glad you did.

My family and I moved from Los Angeles California ready for my son to start at his new school in 3rd grade, we quickly realized that though he loved school in LA, his academic grade was not where it should be and he struggled almost immediately with his maths and comprehension, we quickly looked for a good place that we could send my son to help him attain the quality of education that would put him at the same level as his class mates and friends.We heard about Sylvan from new friends we had met in the area who couldnt speak highly enough of how and what the great teachers at this particular location achieve with children like our son, he has now been there for 4 months and to say he loves it would be an understatement, but more importantly his academic grade for maths is already at a grade and a half above his current school grade and his comprehension is nearly a grade above his current school grade.We couldnt and more importantly my son couldnt have achieved this without the help and support of the great team of teachers at Sylvan Mooresville North Carolina.

I love that I’ve already seen progress in my son’s reading ability in such a short amount of time. I also greatly appreciate that they cater to our schedule and not make us fit in where it’s convenient to them.

Consistency of coaching and flexibility to modify curriculum to keep the kids challenged.

We have had an awesome experience with Sylvan, my son enjoys going to the center and has progressed really well, I am sure Sylvan will be a place we will be going to all of my sons school career, everyone at the center have done a really good job with my son. We tried Kumon last summer and my six year old tells me please do not take me back to that place they did not teach me anything he says he just wants to go to Sylvan to learn. I highly recommend this center to anyone with a child that needs the extra help with school.

Our sons reading comprehension and literary accuracy improved dramatically as a result of the amazing learning experience he received at Sylvan. We are so grateful for the professional partnership the educators have extended to us as his parents. They responded quickly to our urgent need for intense academic intervention. So far this has helped my step-daughter. She enjoys going and has shown more interest in reading. The teachers are great and quick to answer any questions we have. The only downfall is the drive for us since its about 50 minutes away. She continues to make progress and looks forward to going.

The staff is wonderful and its a very calm and encouraging type of learning environment. My son hasnt quite been there a full month yet but I have already seen a little improvement (which all kids learn differently of course). I have no regrets!

It was an amazing learning experience. I was able to focus and understand the material I needed for my class. I would suggest it to other kids and have them get the same learning experience I did.

My daughter has been getting ACT prep tutoring and it has been very helpful! Her test scores went up as well as her confidence in understanding the material!

This place has answered many prayers. My child was behind in reading and was getting extra help from the school. She still was having a hard time and not up to the reading level she needed to be at for the grade she was in. We signed her up for 4 hours a week with Sylvan. I want her to be ready for EOGs. After one week I noticed her breaking down words and sounding them out. After six weeks she was up to grade reading level! She continues to improve every time she leaves Sylvan. The support the staff provides not only to the student but to the parents is unbelievable. This so far has been the best investment I have made in my childs future!
