Renting from Phoenix Preferred was the best decision we could have ever made. We were hesitant because of some of the reviews, but nevertheless, were so glad that we did. Sonya was always so sweet and personable; Christy was always a pleasure. Our maintenance requests were always handled properly and in a TIMELY manner. Once the lease was up, we received our deposit back as agreed. The staff is professional, friendly and considerate (this includes the maintenance guys, who always gave us a good laugh lol). We sincerely enjoyed our home and time with PPP. We are definitely going to miss everyone. If we ever relocate back to Montgomery, we know EXACTLY where to go.

My parents and I have used this company so long I am trying to remember if it is over 20 years or not. Seems like forever and that is with multiple rental homes. I will say Lester runs a great management company. Without his expertise and his awesome staff we could not have kept the needed cash flow from the rentals. There is a reason more people dont have rental homes and that is because they try to manage them personally. Do yourself a favor and call Lester. They did us right year after year and worth every penny. We highly recommend them.

I have been with PPP for over 2 years. As with all rental companies, there will always be those times when some things cant be fixed with a magical snap of their fingers.I have lived in other properties in Montgomery & FL and Phoenix outshines all of them, especially considering their reasonable rent and having homes in quiet neoghborhoods.1) When a problem arises, they use REAL companies not those fly by night professionals.2) They are flexible when you are going through a financial hiccup.3) When I call, Ive always had a good experience because I try to speak to them the way I would like to be spoken too.Now, there have been times when things werent fixed as fast as I would have liked. That happens people!!! Especially with COVID. Kindness gets you a long way. When our floors flooded, they came out everytime to take care of it. They cant control the flooding but they were to take care of us.I have had some issues with a bathroom, I spoke with someone today and there was a miscommunication. I could have been a total jerk, but is that really how we should handle those situations?Trust me... There are plenty of slum lords here in Montgomery. Go rent a house from them and see how well your living conditions are 😜.

I just got off the phone with a Sonya Lilly, who is someone that is suppose to be in management. She was very unprofessional. As a formal tenant who was never late paying rent had the house cleaned after moving out and to be treated and talked to the way she did is unacceptable. When I asked to speak a another manager because i did not appreciate the way she was speaking to me she told me there are no other mangers and that she was only one, later in the conversation I found out that was a lie. I started to recorded the conversation because I couldnt believe what I was hearing. I do not and repeat do not recommend using this company.

This company is a very great company, of course there are minor issues just as well as any other company. So, let’s just be realistic! However, I can say everything is usually what you make of it. I honestly did not have a problem with the company at all. No complaints! Communication was prompt, and I do not know how others honestly feel about Mr. Blackmon, but I had a positive experience with him. I could not pay my rent due to me going out on maternity leave. I was almost 2 months behind. Not only did he wave most of the late fees. He also offered to extend the months to allow me to get caught up, and pay the back rent when I could in partial payments. And let me remind you the office do not do partial payments. They make that clear up front before you move in!However, he was understanding of my situation. I brought documentation’s and plus I was never late. Companies are more at ease to work with people by what we show them. This is how they build their trust people intentions are not always true.I communicated heavily with Ms. Sonya and the office staff, and didn’t wait until the last minute. They worked with me twice on my rent. There was a minor issue when I moved out that was quickly resolved by Ms. Sonya and Mr. Blackmon.Around the time that I applied with this company my credit was not up to part at all. I applied, and it wasn’t a week later Mr. Blackmon called and informed me that I had been approved. When I moved in there were minor things but nothing major that couldn’t be fixed. And of course it it was not like I was moving in a brand new or 5 years old home. It was a nice 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath townhome one of their Woodmere properties.Maintenance issues I didn’t, and I repeat that I didn’t have any issues. A few time maintenance was chasing me. Now if you call us you do have to place in a request just as any other property or apartment community. Even when I made my request one time at this ridiculous time because my kitchen was having issues with water. The gentleman came out on a Sunday night I told him that we can schedule for tomorrow only due to I had to work the next morning. He turned the water off and returned the next morning as promised to be exact. You have to give people time. Yes they are running a business, but they are human as well. And I can only speak from my stay and experiences with them; I lived in my place a little over a year. I would have still stayed until I purchased a home if my job had not transferred job to Texas. That’s how well I enjoyed leasing with the company. I will say this though, Ms. Sonya is an awesome, caring, warm-hearted, very patience, and understanding young woman. And Mr. Lester Blackmon is compassionate. Like I said from the beginning, everything is what “YOU” make of it. You have to communicate, and just to add they still was willing to work with me on something upon my departure. Please don’t just get caught up in the bad reviews. The experience or ether expectations is not the same for everyone, there is always 3 sides to a story. They were honestly great with me and my family. I just appreciate them for giving me the opportunity to become one of their tenants. Most businesses might let you move in with a low credit score, however read the fine print of those properties they’re not as lenient as you think. I hope this was a helpful review to someone; have a pleasant stay☺️.

I’ve had a issue with my air and they didn’t even have a maintenance man on stand by, I called them 3 times the same day and finally the 3rd time they told me they didn’t have one. They didn’t even call me back to tell me I had to call them smh

Over the 3-4 years living at their property I had delayed maintenance repairs and when I had major issues for example a swarm of bees and mice (2x) Lester blamed it on me. I told him that Orkin Cooks and Terminex said it was due to the building needing repair and not how we kept the home which was clean. I waited almost a year to get my gate fixed and they never repaired the peeling paint off the wall due to the hot water heater bursting. I advised them I was looking for another place and when I told them of the repeated issues they did one repair but wanted their money. Lester lied in a message he sent to me and said I wasn’t responding to him which was a huge lie! When I called or he called me we kept missing each other and I left him a message each time. Now he’s stalking a place I stay with my friend. He took the decals off his vehicle thinking i wouldn’t notice. I made a point to drive up to the rent office to see if that was for sure him and surprise it was. I was going to not write a review and just let it be but he took it too far. The only person I liked at the office was Christie. She understands my situation and was caring. Lester will turn on you

I just called in to this company today (May 31, 2019) and asked to schedule an appointment to view a property. This is the FIRST and ONLY company I have ever dealt with that REQUIRES you to drive by the property BEFORE you schedule an appointment. Like you literally have to drive by the property as if you looking at ACTUAL pictures of the house you are interested in is not enough. I informed the woman that I spoke to that I was over an hour away and did not want to drive down just to look at the property when I could view the property at the time of my appointment. I was informed that they dont do business that way. I even told her that I had money ready to put down TODAY and was still told that I would have to go look at the property first. Any company that TURNS AWAY a client with money READY to spend is a company I dont suggest anyone doing business with. However, dont take my word for it...look at all the horrible complaints this company has received over the years!!!

Extremely rude staff. I would 100% NOT recommend this rental agency, if they can even call themselves that, to anyone - EVER! Upon my move out, I was charged for ridiculous things and money was taken from my deposit. Cindy claims she performed the inspection two days after I moved out, but I highly doubt that, because she is a liar. She claims the grass was up to her knees - unless she is 2 inches tall, the grass was most definitely not up to her knees. The house was left in much better condition than when I moved in. The garbage disposal and the dishwasher did not work when I moved in, it does now thanks to me! I would live in a homeless shelter before I ever considered using this rental agency again. They are running scams and everyone that Ive ever encountered in this office is incompetent, rude, and should MOST DEFINITELY not be working in the customer service industry.

Very poor service no calls back just take down number with receptionist.Sonetimes Property managers can take on too many jones and neglect other investments .I see this from the beginning as an investor trying to find management they won’t get my service .Thanks for reviews

They are horrible and very unprofessional. They will out right lie to you. Get everything in writing on official letterhead.They put of repair request for over a year, even with reminding them of the issue every week or two. They hire below par handyman to get the repairs done.They will take your deposit even when you leave the home in better condition then when you moved in.When stuff would break, we found out they did not even let the home owner know of the issues and I dont just mean the minor things.I will never rent from them again and I would never recommend them to a home owner looking for a management company.

By Far the worst, most unprofessional, untrustworthy company My fiance and i have ever dealt with. Renting from this company was a terrible, terrible mistake they took so much out of almost two thousand dollar deposit they continued to lie about the amount we will receive and secretly took hundreds of dollars out of the deposit we moved out in Oct. they sent us a water bill to our new residence of 57 dollars for the month of November thru December we were not there a day past Oct.31st, It left my family very upset this has basically ruined our children Christmas Joy after taking away hundreds of dollars no reason at all. I personally will never even rent from any company like this they have nickle and dime us out of our deposit! We were shocked because we paid rent on time and have even paid it up for months at a time its very disappointing to receive a check with over six hundred dollars missing for paint on the wall the house was already falling apart ( shifting) The floors were so bad that we volunteered to fix it out of our own pockets and they can just prorate it from the rent they declined. They have Definitely played us they we not worth the time or MONEY! This has really opened out eyes a lot.

They totally wasted my time. They had me thinking I was approved for one their houses, then call me later to tell me I wasnt! They denied me not because of a bad rental history but because I had carpet damage charges that I paid! Also a minor discrepancy on my credit report! I had proof of it as well! I would have preferred honesty in the beginning! They were also suppose to refund me $50 according to application but didnt get that back either!

Do not do business with this company. Worst property management company and definitely not military friendly as previous reviewers have noted. Moved into a rental home they manage that was dirty and had stained walls, then got charged for painting it after living in it for 3 years. When speaking to the manager Lester, as I had pictures and documentation of it, was basically threatened with additional charges if I went there.

Avoid this company at all cost!!! This was by far one of the worst property managers I have ever rented from. I lived in one of their homes in Montgomery for a year while attending school (ACSC) and they had one of the worst customer service and third party repair companies. Work orders on average would take over a week to process and only after I called a second if not third time to get a status update. After a work order was placed it would take close to another week before the third party company would call to make a schedule. And to add insult to the rest of this I paid a professional cleaner close to 200$ to clean the home and I was still charged over a 100$ for “cleaning”. Unless you enjoy poor customer service or to be nickel and dimed out of your money, AVOID this company! Not military friendly or helpful.
