Andree Bertsche of Stanton Company was the landlords agent for a rental in Montclair with a one year contract. Her mentions of parking were as follows: In the listing, Andree noted the parking as being a matter of paying $50 for a permit to park in the lot behind the apartment from 5 PM to 9 AM. In person, she asked, And theyre okay with the parking situation?, which appeared to refer to having to pay $50 for a parking spot. In the lease, she wanted it noted that Tenant will pay $50.00 a month for Municipal Parking Lot (5pm-9pm)[sic] seven days a week.After we signed the lease, the Montclair Parking Authority told us on two different occasions that the only permit immediately available was for Overnight On-Street Parking (would have been a 25 minute walk); that all other permits had a waitlist of at least 2 years; and that the specific permit Andree advertized had a 7-year waitlist.When we complained about the unattractive options of walking 25 minutes each way or waiting 7 years to be able to park in the municipal lot, Andree indicated that she was already aware of and insisted that she was clear about the parking situation. She was unwilling to help us solve the problem. Andree apparently believes it is appropriate to advertize amenities even when they are not realistically obtainable during the lifespan of the lease. I believe that when an amenity cannot be obtained for 7 years and the lease is only for 1 year, it is misleading and unethical to imply the amenity is available.The conclusion of the parking problem, which is not as relevant to the review but may be of interest: Our apparent options were to buy parking from a nearby business or home; to buy someone elses existing permit and get it transferred to us; or to buy temporary permits and switch them out every day. Fortunately, when we contacted the MPA a 3rd time to buy daily passes, a different employee was willing to sell us a Night parking permit, which allows parking between 5 PM and 8 AM.I do not recommend Andree Bertsche. She may have willfully misrepresented the parking situation. She definitely refused to help us solve or clarify the parking situation when there was an apparent inconsistency between what she advertized and what the town advised. Given Andrees claims of being aware of the parking situation and of being familiar with Montclair, it would have been simple for her to tell us that there should be other permits that are not on a 7- or 2- year waitlist or that we should try to talk to other people at the MPA.

We had the best experience with Joan Barrett and Stanton Company. Joan and her team handled every aspect of the selling process with constant professionalism and attention. From the initial walk through with Joans team to the fully staffed staged open house as well as how to handle the multiple above asking price offers the entire process was a pleasure. When you are dealing with your single largest investment which happens to be where you and your family lives you dont want to trust it to just anyone. There is a reason why Stanton Company has been successfully selling homes since 1922. Its because of people like Joan Barrett and Richard Stanton. I worked in Montclair for 30 years and had many realtors and real estate companies to choose from. Joan and Stanton Company was an easy choice and we would highly recommend them. She initially helped us finding a rental place for a year while we were looking to buy a house. Katie is very energetic, knowledgeable, and responsive. She is always on top of things and she always cared about finding something good we like. To further explain, we had situations in which Katie very politely advised us: 1) to put less money, 2) to carefully think about whether the house is appropriate location, 3) not to put an offer due to issues with the house, and 4) not to put an offer as the house is not good for us. This is something realtors do not usually do! We strongly feel that Katie is caring about us getting something we like.We changed the towns we were looking in three times and she has been always extremely helpful until we got the house we really wanted. The phrase that she always used to say: “I am sure we will get something you love”. Finally, we were able to get what we wanted.Katie has great connections. She helped us getting professional opinions/feedback in numerous occasions from handy man, inspector, broker, school principal, and lender. In one occasion, we were able to get a consultation, letter draft and review from an attorney she knows. All of that was for free. Such consultation was at least 200$ somewhere else. In another occasion, she was able to reach to a school principal through a friend to get more insight about the programs in the district. Once we were close to the closing date, Katie worked really hard and helped us as well as the attorney to make sure we get things done on time. She has taken tasks at some point that my attorney/ myself should have taken. That was very much appreciated.My kids love Katie! I can’t forget when my son woke up the first day in the new house asking whether Katie is sleeping at our house. They get used to see her and play with her to the point that they wanted her to live with us.I have recommended Katie to couple of friends. When I hear my friends stories with their realtors, I thank God that we worked with her. :)

For the sale of my house in Montclair I am so glad that I worked with June Raegner. I am grateful that June was clearly working for us and helping us to make decisions that were in our best interest, rather than what was most convenient for herself or others. June clearly has a great knowledge of the area and the market. Our house lacked recent comps, but her suggested listing price was higher than we thought possible and she was confident that the price was accurate. When the appraised value came in significantly lower than the listing price, June asserted that her price was correct and helped us to quickly find a cash buyer.
