I came across Johns Auto by accident several years ago and I am glad it happened. These guys are genuine, they dont BS and sell you things you dont need. To be honest, they are probably the most honest shop among all auto shops or dealerships that I have ever encountered with. If there is something they dont know or cant fix, they would tell you right away and would refer you to someone who could. I have had been there for brakes, oil change, paint job and body work and every single time it came out nice with a very very reasonable price. I have recommend them to numerous of my friends and all of them have been very satisfied with them. Go ask for Jackie, he will get your car fixed.

A year ago I brought my 2015 Lexus RX350 with 45k miles to a local Lexus dealer for oil change and the dealer gave me a $3487.65 recommended repair list. Meanwhile the Lexus dealer service manager also told me the vehicle was not safe to drive. Friends of mine suggested to take the vehicle to Johns Automotive, Inc. at Montclair for a second opinion. Jacky at Johns Automotive, Inc. went over the whole repair list recommended by the dealership item by item and only found out one brake light was out and charged me $15. I have been driving the vehicle for more than a year and there is no problem at all. The reasons I post this for the work done a year ago by Johns Automotive, Inc. are: 1. never trust a dealerships scary repair list; 2. Always find your trusted shop and trusted people to give you a honest opinion!

This is the honest place to fix your cars! I went to a local Lexus dealer for a recall item and the dealer told me my car had a lot things to be done up to $6800. And the dealer forced me to sign a liability waiver paper for them and they delared my vehicle was not safe to drive. I took my car to Johns and they inspected everything carefully and said everything was fine and only changed a brake light bulb for me without charge. This happened last August and I have been waiting and test driving my car for a whole year and there is nothing wrong and my car is driving like new. I post this review just let people know that Never Trust What The Dealer Said and Alway Get A Second Opinion!

Just got my car serviced today. Awesome price, very friendly staffs, quick services. I drive a 2009 Subaru Forester. This was my 72000-mile routine service. The Subaru dealer charged me over $2,000 for power steering service, drive belt, A/C belt, differential service and so on. Thats a bit of nonsense since I am always a defensive driver. So I took my car to John and he wiped out unnecessary part changes and only charged me $200. I believe its a big difference for a college student with limited budgets. Kudos to John! Definitely recommend.

My experience at Johns Auto Inc was fantastic. It is the most friendly and transparent auto shop that I have encountered. First a little bit of the problem of my car. My car is 07 Toyota Sienna. A few days ago I had it oil changed at a different shop nearby and was alerted that the rack/pinion was leaking. It will cost $900+ to fix it. It was too much for me to have it fixed right away. I went back and googled it and found Johns Auto Inc. The reviews were excellent. The shop is over 20 miles away from my home but I decided to give it a try. I went there this morning. They checked it and explained to me that the problem was common for Toyota Sienna and the leak was minor currently. It does not require a fix now. I just need to check the level of steering fluid once a few weeks and replenish the fluid when it is below the min level. I should consider having the rack/pinion replaced when the leak becomes severe. They would be happy to give me an estimate when the time comes. The total cost for today: $0. What a honest shop! The mechanic that checks my car is Luis I think. He and the girl that does the customer service both were very professional and friendly throughout the process. Two thumbs up for them!

This is the best place for auto repair. I have an audi a6 happening with burning smell. I sent it to Hamilton VW once, and they gave me a quote of $8000.... including a lot of insane replacement such as replacing 4 arm bushings for $1800 and brake/rotors for $580...I thought that was extremely unreasonable, so I declined the service and went online to search for a good technician. Eventually, I found Johns Automotive and Im so glad that I did! Its a little far from me, considering that I live in East Windsor...but the nearest Audi dealer is located in Edison. So I guess it didnt make much difference since its far anyway. Their location is very easy to find, right in Montclair downtown.I sent my car in today and Johns guys helped a lot. The technician inspected my car and coordinated with John to discuss with me as well. Then I went out for lunch and wandered a bit at the center shopping mall. When I came back, theyve already changed my axles and arm bushings. They showed me my old ones and man they look very very bad...I guess the previous owner never changed them. Then I waited there for them to finish the job.Theyve also changed coolant flush and a lot of other small things. The technician confirmed a lot of repairements listed by Hamilton VW were ridiculous. I dont know what the dealer was thinking, but I believe the technician at Johns knows what he is doing very well. Everyone is very nice and friendly. They had to order a lot of parts for my car and to my surprise, these parts almost came in immediately and we didnt have to wait for days to pick our car. They were able to fix it and its all good to go in the same day. Big plus!For me the final cost was around $1000 and Im so glad that I went in Johns for help. They helped me saved a lot money and more importantly, they helped me fix my car. Theyre very professional and efficient!
