The price was unbeatable! My only complaint is that I reserved A full-size car and ended up with a sub-compact SUV. My family couldn’t fit comfortably inside the vehicle, and had a miserable time on the first (we had two) trip. I was told that I would be contacted if a car became available, and I could exchange the sub-compact SUV for the vehicle that I reserved. They never called me, and no other location had any cars available. After two days of misery in the sub-compact SUV, I called the location again, and they informed me that they did have a full-size car for me, if I could get there before they closed in 30 minutes. Fortunately I was able to. The sub-compact SUV was fairly new with only 5,000+ miles on it; however, the full-size car that I was given was a high mileage vehicle that should have BEEN taken out of the rental fleet with 58,000+ miles on it, scratches everywhere, and a mirror with a missing housing unit (you could see all the exposed wiring in the right side mirror). At this point, my second trip was HOURS from beginning, so I had to take the car and pray that it made the journey in one piece. Thankfully, it did. The rental process was smooth upon picking up and returning the vehicles, and the price was as I mentioned before, unbeatable. The reason this review has a poor rating is because Hertz needs to spend more money and upgrade their rental fleet. You don’t give paying customers “clunkers” and expect them to happily take them as if they were given a car right off the showroom floor! I’ve heard of the expression “you get what you pay for”, but this was ridiculous.
What a NIGHTMARE. Been here for an hour, not one car has left the lot. Dont have the car I reserved, trying to give me a smaller car for the same price. Never again renting from Hertz.
They are in a Plaza. It was clean. They picked me up and gave great service. Hertz Rep answered all my questions and I was able to take pictures of all of the car. The rental was covered by the insurance company. Knowing that there were unlimited miles, & because my job takes me all over the county it was a big relief.
Dont go to this Hertz workers cant find people reservation even though the 800 call center they confirm it. As they claim they out of cars as have about 15 cars in the parking lot ready to go. They have 4 employees where only one person is working while others are just there. They put me in a position that I was standard without a car as was force to walk home. Workers dont explain the car features to the customers, as still doesnt offer pick up service even though its mention on the website. I had to miss my event due to the people of this hertz as also 800 number didnt really assist with the matter also.
Made a reservation a week in advance for mid-size car and called twice to verify my reservation and pick up from Collison Experts Left me stranded. These people are rude and have no customer service skills..
I worked with Amber to rent a car, and she made the process simple and straightforward, explaining the charges and making sure the car was good to go. When the model I had selected online was not available, she helped me with the selection of a different vehicle. The car was clean and the service was quick.

Do not go to this hertz. They never answer their phone and they are not efficient with the cleaning of vehicles. I left my Apple Watch in the car and they acted like they couldn’t go to the car to look to see if it was there and that they haven’t found it. The car was then transferred to Bolingbrook, a far location from where I live and the mokena location and I had to drive out there to pick up my lost item. If they would’ve looked when I called back after dropping it off I wouldn’t have to drive out farther to retrieve my item.
Very friendly staff. They called to tell me that they were seriously delayed in picking me up and sent a Lyft instead. I really appreciated that consideration. I recommend doing business with these folks.

One-way rentals are pricey.. so we had to go through a 3rd party.. but overall the location is good and the employees were nice.No issue with the vehicle except that when we returned, the location was closed. We weren’t told the correct hours. Fortunately, management was very understanding and willing to help.Any time we need a rental, we go through a Hertz.
Horrible horrible horrible!! Reserved a cargo van to pick up at 3:30 pm to move to Tennessee this weekend but I was running a little late and got there at 4 pm. As I parked my car, the cargo van was pulling away. I tried to get the drivers attention but he sped off. I went to the building and they were closed their hours of operation said until 4 pm. However, when I booked the reservation on their website, their hours of operation were until 6 pm. Their website also says the Mokena location is open on Saturday, and they are not. So there is a miscommunication between the Mokena location and whoever runs their website, clearly. I tried calling ten other Hertz locations and only one of the ten answered their phone despite all of them saying they are open until 6 pm. I was able to get ahold of their Reservations department for one location and the woman proceeded to tell me that most of the locations listed on their website are closing early for Covid, which is not listed anywhere on their website, nor was I informed of that when I made the reservation. She proceeded to tell me there are absolutely no cargo vans available in all of Illinois for this weekend. Terrible service and a huge disappointment, I will never be using Hertz again. Someone needs to show them how to update their website with the correct hours of operation and business locations.

Ive called this location 3 times now to ask a simple question, waiting on the ringing line for over 5 minutes each time and nobody has ever picked up the phone.
We rented a car from Hertz and I recommend this location especially because Keith made it a great customer experience. Ask for Keith, and he will take excellent care of you. He is personable and very respectful.
Didn’t even bother to help my situation and just advised I go to midway - didn’t even offer to call midway, nothing, I understand it’s the holidays but if I can reserve a car online and pay for it I should be able to swap it for one..... went down the street TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION and they swapped it no problem. You can call your reasons but at the end of the day you failed a customer at this location. Other location earned 5 stars because they didn’t fail me - thanks for nothing
I rented a Tahoe at the Mokena store. The was great and they allowed me to park my car in the back which was a huge benefit and time saver. But the best part of the experience was the great customer service that Jennifer provided. We found an issue with the original car, but she worked through several options before calling in a favor to another office to arrange a switch. Cant say enough about her effort. Thanks Jennifer.

I really dont have much to complain about. I got a weekly rental car for the best price in the area after comparing prices to other local car rental places.My one main gripe with the car were the wipers. They did a horrible job cleaning the windshield; so bad, we almost stopped off to a Walmart to buy replacement wipers ourselves.Otherwise, this was a relatively flawless transaction.
Dont ever ever rent from Hertz they are a rip-off. They owe me over $70. Ive been on the phone for 3 hours, no one is helping me.
This location is absolute trash. The car given to me smelled like rotting fish. I had to drive to Colorado on a business trip with my boss. Called management immediately and was no help. When I returned the car I had one of there employees smell the car and even he could smell it. I couldnt be given a refund or anything because I prepaid...could not believe it. I asked for a manager to call me, never received a call nor did she ever call back to handle my issue. I will be calling corporate. Place should have a ZERO not even 1 star.
I made a reservation online and my car was ready when I arrived. This location is understaffed however, so if youre walking in to rent expect to wait. There is a secured key drop box for convenience and after hour key drop offs.

Tried calling this location and several other hertz locations to rent a car. No one ever answers the phone. This was after Hertz declared bankruptcy. So that is obviously the reason
I HAD THE MOST HORRABLE EXPERIENCE AT MOKENA LOCATION THEY RIPPED ME OFF AND SPIT ME OUT. THEY TIED UP AMOST $7,000 ON MY CREDIT CARD. FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. IF YOUR SMART YOU WILL N OT GO THERE AT THE MOKENA LOCATION.THEY GAVE ME THE FRIGGING RUN AROUND FOR 11/2. WEEKS THEY DONT NO WHAT THEY ARE DOING. OVER CHARGED BIG TIME...🤑🤑🤑🤑And best of all TheyDid Not compensate me for all my trouble.I had to travel right after I brought car back with no credit left on credit card cause they were holding $7,000.00.So thats What You Are dealing With If you Go There. GOOD LUCK Suckers.

Great service! I had w blow out on the way back in town and was taken care of 100% the Mokena location always has the perfect cars and great customer service. The service I was getting at the Matteson Illinois location changed for the worse once Keith and Quinton left! I will only rent, from Mokena from now on even though its an extra 20 min drive
DO NOT USE HERTZ! It took the rep 4 tries to enter my information and 1 month later I find out he added insurance. HERTZ IS CHARGING ME $472. I would of never used them except they are State Farms vendor...State Farm says nothing we can do. THEY BOTH SUCK
We used them last summer for a road trip. We plan on using them again this year. Clean car, good, friendly service.

This location works impossibly slow. I called for a pickup at 7:30 from the service center 4 miles away and it took them an hour to get me. Then they made me wait in a line for an hour and a half just to get me a car. I’ve been multiple hours late to work twice now thanks to these guys.
