This Planet Fitness location is always clean, the staff are helpful, not too busy the last few times we have gone. Many cardio and strength training options. You really do get a lot of benefits for a reasonable price.

Its a pretty good gym. It can get a bit too crowded but its expected. Some of the sanitation areas are placed so close to some machines that you feel the spray getting to you while people are sanitizing. The staff has been respectful and understanding. Overall, good place for a workout

I used to be a member of In-Shape, and after visiting planet fitness, I gave up my membership there.This location offered everything that I had at my previous gym, but was about $40 a month cheaper! It also offers the Black Card members, free tanning, massage chairs as well as some other therapies. Free training is also included here! with my black card membership, I can go to any other planet fitness location no matter where in the country. This is super nice since I travel quite a bit!The location is incredibly clean and the staff is constantly wiping down the machines and cleaning the floor.Speaking of staff, they are incredibly friendly and welcoming, regardless if it is your first time in the gym or if you are an old pro at working out.I highly recommend this facility!

This gym is much better than others. For the price and what You get, even the upgrade is worth it. And for daily/weekly visitors, I recommend it. There is a small shop by front desk for snacks and things with a seating/rest area. Handicap accessibility. Water stations. A wide variety of equipment that the staff help keep clean, too. I really like that the womens bathroom/showers are mostly kept clean, sorry if the same cannot be said for the mens. (There isnt changing stalls in mens but there is in womens). Plenty of lockers. Ample parking in front and back. Depending on time of day, there is security patrolling the premises. Also, shared parking lot with many businesses and a local bar- beware if parked too far, too late at night! (there has been drunk people doing donuts and hit/run vehicles). Be considerate of others and Your surroundings. Make sure to stay hydrated! Have fun!

I have to tell you how helpful they were dealing with and how they support the Military. My son joined to help train before he left for the Marines during COVID. Afterwards when he was in Boot camp we noticed that he was still paying for the service. Unfortunately, after graduation he wont be coming back for a about a year or longer and we dont have any idea where he will be stationed. Luckily, we were able to go and speak to them and we were able pay the cancelation fee and finish out his contract. I have to say it was so very help and I am thankful for the wonderful customer service that allowed us to help our son while he is beginning his service to our country.

Most people don’t clean machines after using them and also a lot of the machines have a lot of dust. Also a few of the leg machines constantly squeak when using. The cleaning rule is a big mess up. Do better planet fitness

Great location. Friendly staff and sufficient equipment. I really miss having a deadlift platform. The gym uses Smith machine which may not be as effective as actual old school bench press

You have to wear mask while exercising. I wanted to cancel.They not refunding my fees. They were open for few weeks in 2020 but they charge my account the full annual membership fees.

Staff tries to enforce mask wearing during cardio training. Highly unhealthy and extremely ignorant. Glad I do not comply.You are not required to follow a mandate. Especially if it places your members at risk. Your staff member absolutely agreed with me about the health risk of doing a cardio workout with a mask on. Sadly, your company placed him in a situation where he fears losing his job over doing what is right.

Sometimes I will use massage chair, tanning beds. Even though I clean them before use, you would think the staff would wipe stuff down also. I asked and the girl said its not our job, to clean tanning beds. Thats what we have the spray for the customers to use. Good thing I clean everything before and after I use it, including gym equiptment.

Broken machines, bad song playlist, monkey bars got installed upside down lol. The girls pretend its a strip club save your dollar bills.

One on the male staff members was very rude and unprofessional. He needs to learn how to speak to people. I just got done using cardio trying to catch my breath and he told me cover my face with my mask. He could clearly see I was trying to catch my breath but didn’t care. Never coming to this particular gym again.😡 Extremely Frustrated!

Do not join this club. After everything going on they charged an monthly and annual fee without any notice at all. I didn’t even know the gym was reopen for business. The service provided to rectify situation was a waste of time and the service provided was less than satisfactory. No understanding was given. I will be canceling my membership right away and will take my business elsewhere!!!! I would understand if they have me some sort of notice before withdrawing on my credit card but nope nothing! Hope you annual fee was worth losing a loyal customer !!!!

Decent prices. A little small so you can feel a little intimated. Great place for people getting back to the gym. No pool, I dont think they offer any classes, if they do theyre all in morning or early afternoon. I dont mind it, as I dont like big gyms and classes would be nice, but definitely not a deal breaker. Always a treadmill free. You might have to wait for some equipment. People are mostly clean and wipe down after use. There are a FEW people who look like theyre out of a magazine with makeup and muscles ripping out of their shirt (nothing wrong with that!) If you find this intimidating, you probably shouldnt join a gym at all, honestly. Most people are overweight and serious about weight loss. I would say the ratio was 60/40 overweight/ fit gym regular. Most people are your average gym regular, people are focused and not there to play around. They want their workout routine and done.

Nice gym for what it is. Planet Fitness gyms dont have barbells or power racks or bench presses. The machines were OK. Not the best. The treadmills were in good condition. The bathroom and locker room looked clean.

So, they reopened and didnt tell multiple members according to their Facebook page comments section. I got to find out they reopened when I saw a charge to my checking account which was surprising since I had autopay off through the quarantine and was given no notification. I brought it to their attention, and they said that they do not give refunds and to talk to corporate about it. Corporate sent an automated message saying to talk to the local location to ask about a refund which again told me to talk to corporate. Unethical, pathetic finger pointing. As unprofessional as a company can be.

I love how they say it’s in your contract!! Fee per month 22$ And per year 40$ . If you’re still in the contract 50$ buyout. No phone number for help on charges to your card. Funny how they tell you after the fact. It’s cheap but there’s always those hidden fees. And the person responding to these complaints needs to be better trained instead of saying “you’re wrong”.

I tried to join Planet Fitness with their 20 Cents down $10 a month promotion. I wanted to pay 12 months in advance with cash. They would not accept my money. To join you are required to give them your account number. With all the data breaches last year, this seems like an unreasonable and ridicules requirement. They are not getting my account number and they dont want my money.. I can only guess how secure their servers are. I will be going somewhere else.I am not happy!!!!

I came here a couple of weeks ago to check the place out. A young man with curly hair talked to me but I didn’t take a tour because it was too busy. I think his name was Garet. What I didn’t like is when they weren’t working they stood behind the desk and talked rather than helping out the people who are there to get scanned in or need help because they’re new to the gym. I also didn’t appreciate the foul language and gossip I was hearing between the young man and another coworker when I was waiting to be talked too. Highly unprofessional! The gym does look really nice and clean overall. I have a friend who comes to this location and by what he has told me this gym is a good place to workout at but the staff is very unprofessional besides the two managers. Definitely will be looking into other gyms or at least a different planet fitness because this one is unprofessional

Love this place staff is very friendly its a clean place. The staff was very thorough and explaining my membership benefits and policies if they have and very helpful when it came to me trying to use the extra benefits for the Black Card members. They made me feel like its easy to ask them questions even if its just for the littlest things

I went here a while. Love all the machine options. Very clean. Only 4 stars because its frustrating they have zero scales!

Clean and nice equipment but not being able to have your gym bag w you is beyond frustrating. Then when you do have it they hover over you. I bring my own Smith pad, towel, ankle straps so its easier to have it w you. Ive been here 4 years and they have NEVER interrupted my workout over me bringing my gym bag until now. Now its everyday I go. Ready to find another gym. Added: No one is tripping. Especially with how busy it is, its nice to have your bag there so people see its being used when you go get a paper towel and since most of us are Bluetooth, wed like to keep our phone in our bag so we dont drop it. Try to understand - thanks

I was skeptical at first. I heard and read bad reviews. It was considered a joke gym. I have been going for a year now. I am a novice body builder and I have not been discriminated against - even though at sign up I was told this isnt a body building gym. I get what they mean. I have great workouts here! I do wish they had a hack squat machine and t-bar row but I am happy there. And I love how clean the gym is and outstanding staff!

30 Minute Express Circuit: It is not monitored despite the signs that say it is. The majority of users are not there for the circuit but instead target certain equipment and sit there over multiple rotations and some even just sit and relax while they use their cell phones, they seem oblivious to the fact that its a rotating system and will not move for you when its your turn. I dont care that people want to use only certain equipment in there just move for the next person whos actually doing the circuit. Talking to the attendants hasnt helped.Otherwise it is very clean and inviting, and if you can go when its not so busy there is plenty of equipment available in the main room.

Always greeted with a smile when I arrive. Always cardio equipment available. Its the best at midnight!

Unfortunately staff is really under trained and told that they can do anything and when it really comes down to it cant do much! looks bad on company when they cant answer simple questions about locations or management.

If you arent that serious about losing weight and you just want to go through the motion to make yourself feel better, this is the place for you. Not recommended for Bodybuilding. They hate you here.

As a longtime member of a competitor and very well-known gym in the area I must say that Brian and his crew at both Modesto locations are absolutely fabulous exclamation point the gyms are always clean, machines are always Well Serviced, and the price is phenomenal! If you havent found a gym or youre sick the Meatheads who throw weights and pound their chest, change to Planet Fitness you will not be disappointed

Dont believe the add. Its 1 dollar to join with a 39.00 fee every year plus your monthly membership. If u get the upgraded package you only get 10 visits at other locations per mo. Not what i was looking for. Didnt like the hidden costs.

I always enjoy working out at planet fitness plenty of equipment and always open for when ever i feel like working out

Ive read a lot of poor reviews and dont understand why. My first day in, I got an awesome tour by Anne. She showed me all the equipment and answered every question in a professional and friendly manner. She then proceeded to sit down with me and explain the $10/$20 deal per month. Of course theres an annual fee but its still incredibly cheap ($39) and like a cell phone, if you cancel before a year is up theres a small fee ($58).. Also cheap. I got the $20 membership. I can only imagine canceling if I move, but with the black membership you can use any of their facilities. I paid $120 per month for a crossfot membership and I can guarantee you I didnt have access to a tanning booth or massage chair that I am thoroughly enjoying at this moment. 5 stars. Read the fine print and commit. Its cheap, clean and sooooo worth it!

This place is wide open for a class action lawsuit for any black card members that have brought a guest to the gym only to be denied unlimited use to all equipment. The way this place misleads you into believing your black card membership grants unlimited guest pass privileges. No where does it state on line that the only access your guest pass privileges get you is access to only the exercise equipment. After my GF signed a one year commitment at $21.99 per month and a few visits later she was all excited to bring me in tow. After a few times of saying next time I’ll go, I finally caved and went only to find out the guest pass did not include unlimited access. The disappointment on her face was gut wrenching. If her membership was month to month it would have been canceled today, now she’s locked in having to pay a year. Very shady tactics if you ask me. Has anyone else experienced this?

Im using this gym temporarily for now but I will be moving in the future when I find a better fit. The biggest reason for this is because this gym has poor customer service. The employees act as if they dont want to be bothered by members and have a very snobby air about them.

I cancelled gym membership back in Feb 2016. But I had membership for about 1and1/2 years. Through that time there were no issues, I enjoyed going every morning and the staff were so friendly. While cancelling I was charged but they reversed charges as soon as I called with no issues.

The rudest interaction Ive ever had with gym staff anywhere. After they were done being completely unprofessional, i asked for there corporate number. To which they replied we dont have go home and cry about it. It was a simple misunderstanding, about there billing because they charged me twice in one month. The only reason i assume they are this rude, is because of lack of corporate repercussion. I was a loyal, frequent customer, and constantly recommended this gym for about 3 years. However after the complete disrespect that was shown to me i will never go there again, and i will no longer recommend planet fitness ever again. Also i completely agre with David, they have very shady tactics when it comes to contracts. Good thing mine was up in a month .

I really love this fitness center!! Its part of my daily routine to stay healthy,I was recommended by a few friends in The New England Area, before I had a membership to a local Gym Inshape that place had alot of the same equipment but was a negative environment!! I got bullied there here I feel free and healthy I notice its trending to stay fit. Especially when you cant exercise out-doors due to weather! In New England its a lot of bad weather, hard to stay healthy or even go out for a walk because nobody likes walking in that weather!! Plus its dangerous!! My membership is good throughout the States my family is still living In Massachusetts/ New Hampshire area!! Awesome place!!
