Overall very happy with my experience with this tire shop. Spoke to them on the telephone close to their closing time one day and still ordered my tires and had them by opening time the next morning. Even called me soon as they opened to let me know that my tires were there. Also was very reasonable on the set of tires I got but I feel that they are kind of on the expensive side of replacing vehicle parts, especially when you spend $1,000 with them for tires you would think they could cut a great deal to replace a part. Overall satisfied and would return to buy tires from this company

We have been taking our vehicles there for over 2 years. Engine light came on in Jeep. They wanted to charge $110 to give diagnostic reading. It would not be credited back to you if they did the repair. Ridiculous. Will not be using them in the future

Replaced the tires on my car at McCarthy’s this morning and enjoyed a good experience. Pricing for their tires is competitive and uncomplicated (not the norm in the tire business). Their team is knowledgeable and efficient. And everyone was friendly. I was back on the road in under 2 hours.I recommend this company to anyone needing new tires. I found their approach to be refreshingly honest.

Came in after work as I had acquired a screw in one of my tires and needed a patch to make it home. Was quoted an estimate time of 45mins and they had it done in around an hours time. Had someone come by and explain they were short staffed and apologized for the additional wait. Great guys up here they took excellent care of myself and my vehicle!

Had a front leveling kit installed on a 2018 Toyota Tundra at the Toyota dealership and needed an alignment and front suspension angles adjusted correctly bc for some reason the dealership could not dial it in. Brought my truck to McCarthy’s (recommenced to by Jeremy at Wheel and Tire Exchange) and they dialed it in just right! Alignment and camber angle perfect with minimal outer tire wear after 20,000 miles. I recommend them for this type of service.

Had an appointment-- an HOUR later my car got taken back--When I asked about this, the gentleman stated that its kind of like waiting for the doctor. If I had to wait for the doctor for an hour, Id simply walk out. Not to mention, Im a pharmacist and people dont put up with waiting this long for their prescriptions. This was my one day off. My husband seems to like this place. I will not go back.but service was good as always and people are nice

This location provides courteous, efficient service. Its a good idea to make an appointment, as they can quickly get busy on Fridays and weekends. I am always presented with a quote before work is done, and the final price has never exceeded the quote. I also appreciate that they use courtesy floor mat covers.

Dee at McCarthy Tire Service was absolutely amazing. He was kind, professional, and patient. I had my car and brakes checked out before a long road trip and Dee explained everything to me in detail and told me to call him anytime on my trip in case I had any additional questions. This place is a joke. I took my truck here to get a synthetic oil change and a tire rotation. I call ahead of time to get the price for the services and drive up there. First it took a little over an hour just for an oil change ( with no one in front of me). I then remind the manager that they haven’t done my tire rotation ( as I watch them finish my oil change and take it off the lift). He tells me that they know and he will remind them again to make sure they complete the job. Two minutes later my truck is pulled upfront with them saying it is complete. I walk up to the counter and ask again, “ did y’all do a tire rotation”. The manager reinstated that they did. I asked him to walk out to my truck with me and show me that it was complete ( I knew because of the wear on my tires were slightly more on the front), because I clearly watched them not do it. He then says, “Oh I guess we did forget, just comeback another day and I’ll get you in immediately”. A little irritated that I was lied to about the services that I paid for, I just let it go. The manager tells me to come in Tuesday at 7:30 am and he will get me in immediately. Fast forward to Tuesday, I show up to get my tires rotated. I then get told that it’s going to be at least an hour and a half before I can get you in, today is the day we are short staffed too and don’t have as many people working. I tell them that the manager specifically told me to show up at this time and date to correct YOUR COMPANIES mistake, and now your telling me it’s going to take at least an hour and a half for a 10 minute tire rotation.So all in all this place is a joke and can’t even complete the most basic services to a vehicle without screwing it up, and you are souppose to trust them to do engine work. Just save your money and go somewhere else because it’s going to be a waste of your time and money to get a half a** job complete.

Should be zero stars. A BIG RIP OFF. Took car in to be inspected and was told it failed inspection because the power steering leak was leaking. $1267.00 please. No thanks. Took the car to two other inspection stations. No leak. THIEVES.

I have been going to McCarthy Tire since I brought my car in January 2016. I am very loyal when it comes to my oil changes. However, on June 13, 2019 I was denied services as I was told at 5:15 pm that they will not do an oil change for me although i had a scheduled appointment for an oil change. My dilemma is I called a week ahead requesting an 4:45 pm appointment for May 31, 2019 as I was told it was impossible to do so being that Fridays are their busiest days. So then I scheduled an appointment for 4:50 June 3, 2019 as I don’t get off of work until 4:15 pm. I was in the downtown area by 4:30pm, yet due to half of graham street being blocked off gps rerouted me to go around the construction which delayed me because of the congestion affiliated with traffic. By this time it was 4:50 pm. Due to the construction and traffic I arrived at 5:05 pm. Upon arrival I waited at the front desk for at least 5-10 minutes for the receptionist to return. Once the receptionist returned by this time it was 5:15 and i explained to her my situation. She then walked to the back and upon her return she denied me an oil change service stating she cannot do my oil change with it being 5:15 pm. So I asked her to please ask the gentleman in the back if they could accommodate me especially since I had a scheduled appointment and also considering the gas it took to get there, the headache I just had to go through with roads being worked on/blocked off, and the overwhelming slow moving traffic. The receptionist then stormed off as if she had an attitude went to the back to consult with the guys. When she returned she said they will not do my oil change and that she was sorry. My car is 4 thousand miles over the Milage listed for the oil change, I left work early, and due to the construction and part of graham st being blocked off I was a few minutes late. McCarthy does NOT close until 6pm therefore there is absolutely NO reason why I should have been denied service. It would have been understandable if i was a walk-in, yet i scheduled my appointment days ago even delaying my oil change to fit their schedule. I will NEVER bring my car back to this location as they do not care about their customers nor are they considerate to the environment surrounding them. I am disappointed that after 3 years this company is going to loose my business. Yet customer service goes a long way with me and I refuse to spend my hard earned money at a business that does not value their customers. Please take caution before bringing your car here if you are looking for excellent customer service. Needless I say I ended up going to Valvoline who took care of me that same day.

It always gives me a bit of hope when a company actually goes above and beyond the call of duty and provides excellent customer support. I had an appointment and 55 mins later my car had still not been taken back for service. That kind of service is just not acceptable to me. Dont expect to get in and out for an oil change quick even if you have an appointment. Appointment time was 9:30 I was on time they didnt take my vehicle back until 10am then I was not finished and out the door until 10:51. One hour and 21 minutes for an oil change. Guys there are super nice and said that doesnt usually happen, however my son was there the day before with an appointment and he waited an hour.

DO NOT GET YOUR CAR INSPECTED HERE!!! They will do anything that can just to make you spend more money for an overpriced repair job. I took my car here the other day to get it inspected where it failed three of the tests. I then took it to a well established inspection station where it passed with no problems. If I didnt seek out another eye and continued business with this unprincipled repair shop, I wouldve had to pay over $1000 for them to fix nonessential problems. Go somewhere else.

No appointments are taken for any work. So I waited 2 hours for an oil change. I had a coupon and the guy made me feel terrible for using it and took his frustration out on me about it. Still think he didnt even take it, in the end. I was looking for a new place to get work on our aging vehicles but didnt feel this was the right place. He was complaining and cussing while talking to other co-workers in conversation, all while I waited with my three young children. We wont be back for future business.

I have been coming here for six years and have to say that they are very professional. They explain everything in detail and quote their prices with no surprises. They have always worked with me if I had financial issues and the cost to fix my car was more then I had.

I had a nail in my tire and took it here to get repaired. Tire ended up needing to be replaced. No problem. Front desk lady was nice.... HOWEVER, the price quoted seemed high. I got the same exact tire (new Pirelli), mount, and balance at AAA South End for over $100 less. Price gouging!!

Horrible. Not only did they scratch my rims (during a simple tire change), I had to cover part of the damage. After one of the employees spent 15 minutes trying to argue that they did not scratch my wheels he volunteered to get them repainted for me. When the paint shop sent McCarthy the invoice I got a call where one of the McCarthy employees told me they are only paying for 2 of the rims (once all 4 were already complete). They did NOT offer a refund for the mount and balance nor did they apologize. At the end of it the employee said that they did not scratch my rims, they only volunteered to pay for them to get repainted because they didnt want me to give them a bad rating online. All said and done, it cost $670 to get my tires mounted and balanced (440 of which i was responsible for). Official rating 0/5. I hope the couple of hundred bucks you saved is worth having a reputation for being an unreliable and untrustworthy shop.Update: Don’t be fooled by the 4.0 rating. The owners responses are just to make them look good, you cant reply back to them. After my bad rating their rating went up. Anonymous 5 star reviews from your employees doesn’t change the fact you all provide sub par service. Unfortunate that people will only learn that once they have already been a customer at your shop. I will also make sure to repost this as often as possible so that this is the review at the very top. Someone has to warn the public.Update again: This place is the worst. Not sure how the have a 4.3 rating. Probably an incentive in the shop for people to go online and give them 5 stars. What a joke, a tire shop that can barely change a tire.

This is a TERRIBLE place to get your car inspected!!! They will find anything wrong with your car, just so you will have to pay them the $23.75 for the failed inspection. I took my car here and it failed, and then took it to another reputable inspection station and it passed with flying colors. They inspect the car until they find something they think is wrong, hoping that you will pay them hundreds of dollars to repair what they think is wrong. They need to be closed down for state inspections in NC. If they think you have money or youre ignorant about inspections or cars, then they will rip you off in a heartbeat.

Went in for regular oil change/service and to get indicator lights changed, they kept burning out. The lights either burned out again, or still didnt work, later that day. Took it back the next day and they replaced for free, and double/triple checked to make sure nothing else was wrong causing them to burn out. So far, honest, kind, helpful.

Good service and surprisingly lower prices on tires and brake job than I have seen in the Charlotte area. Stopped there due to an emergency situation and was expecting an uptown ripoff, but in the future I will make the extra drive from the suburbs.

Ive taken my car here twice only because I live across the street, work uptown and need my car fixed immediately; first for an inspection and to get my horn replaced and another time for a flat tire. Their services are incredibly overpriced; you might as well go to the dealership. Make sure to ask them for an itemized list of everything theyre doing and what it costs when they give you the estimate... chances are the price will include additional services that arent essential or related to the visit reason. Both times, simple repairs ended up being ridiculously pricy... more than double what I originally expected to spend. The second visit I specifically asked for the bare minimum service done and it was still $200.I wouldnt recommend going here. Also your only option is to pay in a lump sum.

Brought a tire to be patched. Was told it would be an hour and I dropped it off. Returned after 2 1/2 hours, having not heard back. Tire was not repaired, the front desk attendant rolled it back into the lobby. When I reluctantly said thanks, he replied youre welcome. Horrible customer service.

Mcarthy Tire has super quick turn around times on brakes, tires, engine repairs etc. The staff keeps me updated reguraly throughout the diagnostic and repair process. Prices are better than dealer prices. My wifes Lexus just will be the next patient at McCarthy. Id rather have my BMW serviced at McCarthy than drive to Northlake or Indenpendence to leave my car for days

In the past, I hated taking my car in for service... Now, I dont mind. I have found the mose reliable and honest car mechanic!!!!! I actually heard about them from a police officer. After taking my car to 3 mechanics and paying a crazy amount of money, my check engine light wouldnt go off, so it wouldnt pass inspection. When I was pulled over by a police officer, I complained that I couldnt find a reliable mechanic. He told me to go to McCarthys and they would be able to fix the problem. Not only did they fix it, but they did a great job at a reasonable price!!! Then, recently, I got a flat tire, on a saturday, so I took my car to the nearest tire place, and they told me they couldnt patch it, and that I would need a new tire. If I was going to buy a new tire, I knew I wanted to go to McCarthys, so I waited. When I went in to McCarthys, they looked at my tire, and said they would be able to patch it for me. I will never go anywhere else!!!

Rip off. Qouted me nearly 300.00 to replace struts and that was with me providing part. Crazy expensive
