This place has the best animal products. Probably the most affordable bullys in the cities. Also was able to get a bag of beef cheeks, one of the only things my dogs doesn’t crush in a half hour. There weren’t any on the shelf and the ladies were kind enough to get them. Be forewarned there is a cat loose sometimes if your pets reactive.

Ive only been here a handful of times but every time I never had any bad experiences. I had a very insightful discussion with Jenn about dog food and why they carry their selection. She does very thorough research and has options based off your budget. Wish I found this place sooner.

I love this small owned pet supply shop! I love that it is so close to my apartment so I can walk there! I love how covid safe they have been through everything and they have such a great rewards program which i also love! My dog loves it in there as well and they always have free samples/ free treats too!

I already loved this store, but after meeting the owner yesterday I love it even more. My fiance and I headed over there not knowing when it was closing. we got there just as the owner was locking the door. He let us know that they were closed for the day. And I said thats okay we can come back tomorrow for minnows. The owner was like the dried minnows?I explained how my cat had been lost in the freezing cold in February for 3 weeks. He is on a no carbohydrate starvation recovery diet. He loves minnows more than anything and thats a treat hes allowed to have. But I had just run out. The owner went inside the store got the largest bag of minnows they had and told me just to take them that he was happy my cat was home and recovering. It was so kind of him and really shows how much he cares for animals.

Im really happy to have found this place after moving to Minneapolis with my kittens. Very high quality and wide selection of food and care items, with fair pricing as well. And I always learn something new with each visit about what kind of products suit my cats, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in finding exactly what my boys need.

My favorite pet store in the cities! I was lucky enough to meet the owner at one of my jobs, he was so kind and grateful when I expressed how much I love his shop and was such a down to earth guy. I’m so happy they’re open indoors and I love the array of natural and unique treats and IQ toys they carry. It was my pups first birthday yesterday and I wanted a cake for him and his litter mate to enjoy, they close at 6 (I get off of work at 6) and I called the store to ask if it would be a huge inconvenience if I showed up for pick up at 6:15 (knowing they’d be trying to close up) they were sooooo accommodating and let me know that they would have someone stick around for me to ensure I got my bag, I knocked on the window and they even addressed me by name and wished my dog a happy bday. Top tier customer service and such a cute place!

Luxury products but not necessarily veterinary-approved.I was buying dog food from Urban Tails Pet Supply, but was told by my veterinarian that the product I was buying is not actually a good choice. Essentially, it contained exotic proteins and food ingredients that are not recommended for dogs. I thought the high price meant quality for my dog, but my (PHD-Holding) veterinarian told me that was not the case. I would have expected Urban Tails to do their research and carry products that were good for my dogs health. I would recommend doing your own research and/or just buying a vet-recommended brand from someone else.

I ordered curbside pickup. My order was at the door when I arrived with my name on it. Very friendly and helpful staff took my phone order and when I picked up my order there was even a kitty gift bag attached! I found out that there is free delivery on orders over 30$ so I will be a returning customer!

The model for a neighborhood pet store. All staff members are very knowledgeable. They are proactively helpful. Very good variety of selection of products and brands but not overwhelming. The cherry on top is the training classes for the dogs. This is my Go To store. I will wait to purchase so I can choose from them.

Small, friendly pet shop that has tons of healthy fresh frozen and wet food options. The workers always greet me and check in while I shop. They are also very knowledgeable about their products (cat products since that is the only thing I ask about). Loved that I found this place after I moved here from out of town. This is my go to place for pet supplies. They deliver for free and are right around the corner. They supply local pet food/toys/supplies. Staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a few shop cats which are the cutest thing ever. Urban trails has FREE DELIVERY which is great because parking in that area can be difficult. They also offer bag reward programs for food so after 10-12 bags (depending on the brand) you get one FREE! This is one of my favorite local businesses to support and their prices are in line with the big box stores.

Great selection and the staff is super helpful. Hard to find parking due to construction in the area, but their delivery service definitely helps that. They host great events with a variety of organizations and do a lot to help their community!

Best pet shop ever. Staff is so nice it’s nearly unbelievable. When I first moved to Minneapolis, my cat needed a new diet with a calorie limit. One of the employees at Urban Tail spent over 40 minutes reading calorie counts off of the back of cat food cans to help me find the right food for my boy.Tons of great options for pet foods, and really great customer rewards are really the icing on the cake for this gem of a store. I’m so happy I found this place!

The people who work here are always friendly and helpful. They have a huge selection of raw food for cats and dogs. They also have raw bones and the like. The place feels a good bit hipster. They also have a couple of cats that just wander around the store and will often greet you (especially if youre buying cat food). They dont have a good selection of small animal products but they will special order them for you. They also offer delivery.

These guys are awesome. Not only are the in the neighborhood, but the have a sweet kitty Veronica who will visit with you and give you a walk of the store. The staff here, the owner, everyone encountered over the 3 years we have been using them has been awesome to work with, and they know there stuff. If you are wanting good food for your pet, stop in and see them.

Urban Tails is one of the best stores Ive been too. The staff are extremely well-trained, knowledgeable and have taught me more than I ever would have imagined about being a pet guardian and the pet food industry. Every person that works there is super genuine and interested to talk to you and find the specific items that will be best for your pet and their health. So fortunate and grateful to have them in the neighborhood - I couldnt imagine buying pet supplies anywhere else. They also have sweet customer deals on products from time to time, discounts if you visit multiple times and brand-based punch cards in which you can get a bag/can etc. free. They love pets and their customers - cant imagine going anywhere else.

I simply Love this place. The owners are amazing, incredibly knowledgeable on legit healthy foods and toys for your cat, Amazon doesnt even compare to them. Better prices. Plus my cat Apollo loves traveling and he loves them as much as I do. I would work there if they offered me a job.

Nice staff. Selection is pretty good for a smaller store. They tend to carry higher end foods and treats. They also support local rescues which is a big plus in my book. The only drawback would be parking, but that applies to pretty much everywhere in uptown.

Urban Tails is BY FAR the best local place to get anything you need for ANY pet. Lizards, parrots, dogs, rats, cats, salamanders you name it, the folks here can find what you need. They also support local artists and vendors. The rewards program is amazing. The entire staff in welcoming and knowledgeable. I willingly drive in uptown MPLS just to visit this shop! I searched high and low for a coat for my dog. Looks like another long winter ahead!I had done plenty of research and intended to purchase online... but the sizes just werent matching up with my dogs measurements. The minute I walked into Urban Pet Tails, I was welcomed and asked if I needed help. After telling them I was looking for a coat, they took one look at my dog and said, Oh, he looks like about a 22. Just from eyeballing my dog, they hit the measurement perfectly. She showed me all my options --- lots of wonderful choices and helped me pick the perfect coat for our needs!The quality of the coats was wonderful!Thanks for the awesome customer service!P.S. Friendly, knowledgeable staff are always present to greet and help you as shop (including the stores cats that are often standing by the front door waiting to be pet as you come in). Keep an eye out for promotions and sales (like buy 12 cans get 1 free) as well as adoption events (even if youre not adopting, its always fun to check them out and usually for a good cause). A great place for your pet needs in the Uptown area.

Everyone here is super friendly. Not once have I gone in and someone has not asked me if I need help with anything or more information about a product Im looking at. They have cats that roam and are super adorable. A bit pricey but great products and selection that is even environmentally friendly.

A very good selection of stuff, and very friendly staff. The have the brand of dog food weve only been able to find at Chuck & Dons (Fromm), the specific brand of leashes, collars and harnesses we like (Stunt Puppy), and a good selection of dog toys and puzzles. I impulse bought a few toys. Well be back!

This is the best pet store that has ever existed. They are consistently willing to go above and beyond to deliver things and are knowledgeable and compassionate in their handling of customer service. We brought all our dogs here for training healthcare and food needs. This is a family owned business, and even though we can occasionally find things for a slightly cheaper online, the service and rapport established with repeat customers as far and away worth it

These people carry the best cat food and their crickets are always hearty. Its easy to tell that Urban Tails is family owned and run. Once I ordered some canned food to have delivered from them, but the front office of my apartment suddenly changed their policy and wouldnt accept deliveries while I wasnt there.The office sent Barry away with an unfinished quest :(. But instead of asking me to come into the store later (which I was totally willing to do) Barry went out of his way to get the food to me after I got home outside of their usual delivery hours. AND he wouldnt even accept a tip. What a nice guy!

I adore this pet store! They sell quality products for cats and dogs. They specialize in providing higher quality food selection. My cat loves the Wellness indoor cat/chicken meal (hard food) and a particular wet food that comes in a pouch (Ill find out the name and post it later). We couldnt find a healthy option for our cats until we found this place. The staff are perfect. Prices are reasonable (keep in mind that its quality over quantity, but sometimes both) and there is a spectacular selection of toys and treats, including incredible scratching posts made here in Minnesota. This is where we get all of our dogs food! We had started our pup on a partial raw diet and the staff was super helpful in informing us what would be best but also helped us save money. Highly recommend to any dog or cat parents!
