Zero stars. I ordered so many products from this company with minimal success (very experienced gardener). Most products arrived desiccated or moldy. I left a review on their site and called to see if they would step up/make it right. My review is not posted but is in my history on their site- only 5 stars for the dahlia allowed I guess. They never responded to my calls or review. When my dahlias came up (those that weren’t rotten) they aren’t even what I ordered. I ordered decorative and dinner plate. You’ve lost a customer Holland. Fix your customer service, it sucks.
You never know what you will get from this store. These iris were all dead when I got them. I am curious who is packing these low quality item and sending them to customers. Also got no response in a whole week after sending an email. Its so hard to find a reliable online store. So far, k.van bourgondien is the best one I found.

My 95 year old mother loves orange. I brought her a 14” pot, some Miracle Grow, and a trowel and this packet of all orange bulbs and seeds. They are coming up on her 4th floor balcony and soon will bloom and reward her efforts. Great pack.
I ordered roots and tubers from Holland Bulb farms. They arrived quickly, and I planted according to the directions the same day they arrived. I had not ordered from them before, but I did notice that the roots looked dry and lifeless. After 6 weeks went by, and I realized that neither the roots or tubers were going to sprout, I emailed the company. When I had ordered, Satisfaction Guaranteed was posted everywhere, but I am unsatisfied. They refused to refund my money. Further, they insisted that all they could do is give instore credit, which I reluctantly took. Even then, they only gave me a one third credit of what I ordered. I will not order from them again.
I ordered gladiolus, they were dried up and in horrible condition. I let them know and they told me to wait 6 to 8 weeks to see if they would grow. I let them know after 8 weeks, still nothing has happened, no growth. They told me I should have let them know early (which I did ). Said they would issue me a store credit, I spent little over $10 the credit was $4. There guarantee says full credit. Very disappointed. I want a refund.

Ordered from these folks for a few years, hit and miss which is about right for most postal nurseries. But this past two months have nailed a golden stake at the heart of their Absentee Customer Service. Ordered Black Eyed Susan’s from their “special offer”. They arrived, of the five, two were moist rotten. The addition three were dry, showed zero viability. Potted the three and put them in the green house. They were indeed non viable! No sign of life. Called Chat @ Holland Bulb, “oh, no we can’t deal with that, you need to send the official complaint and photos to this email”. Email address not “active”. So went on line obtained an email associated with their account, and sent photos. No response, except daily emails with great offers. Finally mailed a letter, and the dead material to them. No response, so not only a missing Customer Service, but non viable plants seem the norm. Again hit and miss routine, but this is a Company to pass on by unless you have time and money to blow.
Sturdy plants emerging from all the columbine roots sent. Easy planting advice included with shipment, which was fast. Im looking forward to blooms early next year (I ordered sort of late...) and will be trying some other products from this fine American company in the future.
I recently ordered a quantity of one Russian sage, and it arrived dead. Why this plant would have been sent as bare root instead of a potted plant at this time of year is puzzling. I expected to receive a potted plant. This plant was contained in a bag that also contained potting soil that contained zero moisture. Both the potting soil and the plant itself were entirely dried out. Nowhere in their online description of this plant did it state that this would be shipped as bare root. Not only that, but this sad excuse for a plant appeared to have died before it was shipped. Im a Master Gardener, so I have a sense that this plant was a goner when it was shipped. When I received this order, I left a message for Holland Bulb Farms that I had been sent a dead plant, but they did not respond. I will never again place an order with this company. They are a disgrace on many levels.
I bought 450 bulbs, 225 arrived along with a packing slip stating the total order was in the box. It took A LOT to convince the “customer service “(should be renamed “customer disservice “) that NO I DID NOT GET MY WHOLE ORDER! I had pics and videos to prove it. They finally agreed to send the missing bulbs. They sent an email stating that they were sending the entire order again, LIES. The tiny box was JAMMED TIGHT with ONLY the bulbs missing from the first shipment. The tulip bulbs are in bad shape as were the riticulated iris. Many feel soft, not firm, and several were completely rotted. Based on this experience (Bad customer service, missing product, defective products) I will NEVER buy from this company again.
Dont buy from this business. This high google review page is not accurate because anyone can post here and yelp has more restricted rules.I purchased about $80 worth of bulbs and seeds after a friend recommended this business to me. I wish I checked yelp review before I placed the order- very low ratings.The order arrived on time and I planted and watered them according to the instructions. I live in Southern California where we have plenty of sunshine and good weather. 95% of them are rotten or dead. I have only very few grow and finally I got one tulip flower of 2 inch high and die the next day. They have this 100% grow guarantee. But they never respond to you! They said they have thousands of emails to reply to. Well, isnt it the boss job to make sure they have enough staff to handle the complaints? Or is it a good excuse to give to your customers?Ive contacted customer service four times in the past month and sent the photos required, but heard nothing back. I finally give up, wasted my money and time, learned the lesson. Hope you dont repeat my mistake.
Ordered 9 dahlia tubers of specific varieties that I wanted. 3 of the tubers were completely unusable. The other 6 all came up as single red and yellow varieties, which I didn’t order. Extremely disappointed. Would not order here again.
Last year I ordered and planted 125 botanical tulips and I could be more happy! They have brought so much color in to my flower beds I will definitely be ordering again from Holland Bulb Farms. I would highly recommend this company for any of your bulbous needs!
Follow up: 10 days ago I sent them updated pictures, showing, as I told them, that none of the hundreds of tulip bulbs they sent me grew even one iota. I asked for a refund. Ive been growing tulips every year for 30 years and this has never happened. I feel like no matter what I do to justify to them that their bulbs were duds, its never going to be good enough for them to admit that they sold me bad bulbs and to try to correct the problem. I did not hear one word back from them. They said the last time I contacted them that they are busy, so I gave them a few days. 6 days later, still nothing, so I sent another email. Today, 10 days later, still nothing. Evidently they are never too busy to take your money, or to respond to a public review, but when you experience a problem you get treated like nothing and they are too busy to respond. I guess they think its okay and that the damage to their reputation means nothing. There are plenty of other great companies from which to get high-quality bulbs that provide excellent customer service. I rarely write reviews but Im writing this in the hopes of helping other people not to have to go through an experience similar to mine.I had a horrible experience with this company. I ordered hundreds of tulip bulbs from them last year, none of them grew. I called 3 times and emailed 3 times this week before I got a response from them. When they finally responded, they gave me the run around and then tried to blame me for the bulbs not growing. I followed their instructions, digging up some of the bulbs so I could send them pictures, then they told me I shouldnt have dug up the bulbs, and that I damaged them by doing it. Then they tried to tell me the bulbs would not grow for weeks, even though its April, and every other tulip bulb I planted that I bought from elsewhere have all bloomed and flowered. They simply do not stand behind their product, they take your money but when their product does not deliver, they treat you like youre at fault so they do not have to stand behind their guarantee. That is no way to do business and its a terrible way to treat people, especially customers. I dont want anyone else to have to go through what I went through with this company.
Poor quality, poor customer service. Dont expect an answer if you try to send an email using their form. They messed up my order and then sent the corrected order via USPS and it took over a week to get to me. One of the 3 bulbs was completely rotten. I had another order with tiger lilies. They were so grown out in the box and twisted or broken that they have failed to grow. Only 4 out of 12 have been successful. I will not be ordering from them again.
These folks are great! If you have any questions or concerns, they will get back with you, give you honest answers and stand by their product. One of the bulbs that I ordered had become slightly bruised in shipping. I contacted this company with my concern, was assured that all would be well, they followed up later to check and be sure that the bulb was progressing well, and the bulb was perfect! The flowers are gorgeous! I’m grateful for this company and their beautiful bulbs. I would highly recommend them and their products.
I have never written reviews of any kind, but I would not recommend anyone buying here and highly suggest shopping elsewhere, that you know as safe and quality. I placed two large orders of Canna plants and we were looking forward to the mix of plants coming in... there were almost 75 bulbs in all. Of that only ONE canna plant grew and the other few 7 plants that grew are not Canna and are some other plant we do not recognize and even the plant identifier labels with various names. Despite three emails and sending a picture of the wrong growth, I have not heard back and have not gotten a refund, its not just about the money, it is the terrible service, the bad products and worse our credit card was compromised at that same window of time and I believe it may have occurred here.
Holland Bulbs ricks. I ordered several bare root plants and they were all viable and are growing strong. Very reliable. I will use them again next spring.
I ordered 4 irises and not one of them ever came up. I planted and watered according to the directions and nothing. I was even more disappointed to find out after waiting the 6-8 weeks that they asked me to that they do not give refunds but just store credit. If it werent for the credit I would not order from them again. It was a total of $85.00. So frustrating.
I have had a similar experience to Charitys. I ordered doubles and dinner plate dahlias and they are all cheap single flowered border dahlias.Absolute waste of money.
I ordered 3 fire and ice hostas. They were a good deal smaller than hoped for and expected. I imagine that in 6 or 8 years they will be decent size.
I have ordered from them. Following the orders they send out an email asking you not to write any reviews until you have contacted customer service via email about your problems. I have held back with a review until no waiting for customer service to respond to my emails. Nobody answers their email; so I am forced to write the review. If you have problems with the quality of your order DONT EXPECT A REPLY FROM THEM.Even though they said they were going to reach out to me the next day from customer service (see their post)....THEY HAVE NOT DONE SO!!! I told you,dont expect a reply.

I ordered tulips last fall and planted. All tulips came up this spring. Good price as I bought large value packs. Had so many I gave some away. Have bought from other companies online and the plants did not all come up. Will buy from them again.
I cannot reccomend them they are the worst plant company I have ever dealt with Placed an order in April. They shipped me 4 dead clematis. I contacted them by phone, web site messaging and email I sent them the pictures of the dead plants they asked for Many weeks later still no response You cant get through by telephone Had to finally go through my payment method to get my money refunded. What a difficult company to work with.
I ordered 4 dahlia tubers this spring. All the clumps arrived damaged, but I was able to salvage at least 1 tuber per clump from every variety, except for 1 which was completely unuseable. A 2nd variety had leafy gall, so I had to destroy. The 3rd and 4th varieties are the weong variety - single reds instead of a lovely decorative and ball variety. So overall, I got nothing. When I called to report the gall (multiple times) got no response at all. Very disappointed, and have learned my lesson. Wont be back.
My order arrived and all the bulbs were rotten. Contacted them for a refund but I am still waiting for it. Then I reordered 2 more Voodoo lilies and again one of the buls was rotten. I have asked for a replacement but have not heard back yet. Their quality control people dont seem to know the difference between a good bulb and a rotting one. Keeping my fingers crossed for my $56.00 refund and a replacement voodoo lilly.
Do not order from them if youre planning for specific colors and 100% growth/bloom rate. I ordered 5 different varieties of dahlia tubers and of the ones that bloomed, not a single one was the color/bloom style I had ordered. This company is a joke, just like their growth guarantee.
I could not believe the dead honeysuckle and strawberries I received. The soil they were in was dried powdered dirt. There was no sign of life. I emailed customer service on both orders. got a reply on the honeysuckle that said just to plant it and it will grow. Well I planted it and after more than a month still no sign of life. Will never buy from this company again.
I ordered 8 plants of bareroot astilbes. All of them arrived in time and grew very well. I put each plant in a pot for 2 weeks and then planted it in the ground. They grew very fast. Very happy with the order.

I thought I’d give Holland bulb farm a go over K. Van Bourgondien but I was wrong, serveral of the bulbs never came up the bulbs I really wanted the Apricot fudge have never broke through the ground nor did the free allium bulbs.Unfortunately due to this experience I’m going to stay away from now on.

I have received my order and all looks good. Some of the tulips are sprouting and the hostas, which I was unsure about seem to have taken. I got the rest of my bulbs more recently and am waiting to see. I did have some gophers take a few tulip bulbs and eat them like apples, not the company’s fault but hate that I will be missing some of the beautiful colors I was trying to add to my spring garden.
I wish I would have read these reviews before I placed an order with this terribly irresponsible and unprofessional company. I am shocked that the bulbs I ordered at the start of January have still not shipped in mid-April. In all those months they never once messaged me to update me of the status of my order. I had to message them twice myself to have them finally respond days later telling me “there was an issue with the bulbs”. And that “the order would be shipped by the end of the week”. That was three weeks ago! They have still shipped nothing! And they have given no further order status updates either! I have ordered so many bulbs from so many companies and I have never once had such an experience as this one. After all this bull, I will be absolutely infuriated if the bulbs ever arrive in anything but absolutely perfect condition and I will make certain to share this experience with everyone in all my gardening groups and gardening blog.
Great product. However, customer service is horriblle.. I ordered product two months ago. Never received product. There has been no follow up except for many solicitations to buy more product.. I called and inquired as to where the order is. Firstly, their CS reps have a bad attitude. They could not answer why the product was not sent, except for slow import times. There was not one email from this company for two months, except solicitations to buy more product. I would AVOID this company...... There are better options
I purchased over a hundred bulbs of all kinds of spring bulbs. They have been planted, and because weve had such warm weather, some of them have come up. All of the bulbs were healthy and easy to deal with. I am looking for spring to see the beautiful flowers that will grace my yard. I will order again with no problem. Thanks
Bulbs came up nicely but out of the two orders I placed none were the actual flowers I ordered. Ordered all pinks and dark purples, grew reds and yellows. I sent an email to customer service about two weeks ago and zero response. Oh well, lesson learned.
Horrible service and customer service. No update was provided that my order was delayed and no updates could be provided on ship date. No apologies only excuses. I will never order from this company again.
Based on their reviews customers service doesn’t get back to you. I’m curious to know how I keep getting sent dahlias, that aren’t even on their website? Every time I order the Ice Cube dahlia, I’ve tried to order it twice by the way, I get sent one that’s not on the website. ????? The last order I made was for an Ice Cube Dahlia, Hartenass Dahlia and Extase Dahlia. None of these were in my package, the tubers were shriveled up. I’d say stay away from the dahlias on this website. Would like my money back.Update on my order; this is three months after receiving my order. None of the dahlias that are coming up are dahlias that I ordered! NONE! I ordered over twenty five dahlias and only ten came up! I want my money back and will never order or recommend this company to anyone!
Do not buy plants from here. I ordered creeping phlox which never cam out this season and was told they couldn’t do anything more for me since I didn’t call within 4 months of planting. Lame excuse and lame customer service by Emily. After spending $54 dollars on 6 plants they should grow. I thought these were plants that don’t show up till next spring. Something more could’ve been done.
I will never buy anything from this company again. I placed an order last Spring and it never came, even though they charged my credit card. It took me 2 weeks of sitting on the phone and having unpleasant conversations with them before they finally agreed to refund me for items they never shipped to me. I usually believe in second chances, so when they had a good discount on some bulbs I once again placed another order last Fall for 300 bulbs. When the bulbs came I counted them and there were only 221. I guess maybe they think because they are shipped altogether in one big pack that no one would notice some were missing. I called and told them of the problem and it was more painful time spent sitting on the phone with them denying any fault and never once offering to so much as to replace the missing bulbs, or give me some kind of refund for them. Ive wasted so much time and aggravation with this company, so Im writing so that others will hopefully see how horrific their customer service is and not have to suffer and lose money like I did. I wish there was a lower rating to give.
Have placed several orders with Holland Bulb Farms. They have yet to disappoint. Everything came packaged well and so far everything has grown as described. Planted several selections of bulbs in the fall and they are already growing & blooming outside. The indoor kits we ordered this winter just started blooming as well!
I bought a number of bulbs from Holland Bulb Farms. Unfortunately, they didnt sprout, but the customer service team stood behind their performance guarantee after I escalated my concern. I got a full refund, which was great!
I have nothing but praise for Holland Bulb farms. Everything I have ordered has arrived in excellent condition and in a timely manner. I was able to find a honeysuckle vine there, when it was listed as out of stock or unavailable on other sites. It was sent at just the right time for planting, was in great shape and is now thriving.
I have purchased several perennial bulbs as bd roots. All have been well packed snd received quickly. All were planted and all have popped up this spring. Can’t wait for the butterflies and hummingbirds!
Begonias didn’t come up. They were duds. I lost the 10.00 shipping charge. Kept saying “wait “. Nothing after 9 weeks. I think it’s very risky to buy on line. I have pots I have to fill, plus they were supposed to be perennial.

I ordered two Niagara Green Grape Plants on 5/25/2020. It took a little longer to get than what they stated. Received the plants a few weeks later. The were out of the soil. The carton was smashed. Tried calling them, no answer due to the virus that is going around. Sent an email to customer service shortly there after. Surprise! They still have not contacted me regarding my grape plants. They are dead and were dead when we got them. I told them in the email I would like my money back. I get an email from them wanting a 5 star review! Are you kidding me? Cant answer the phone or email and Im going to give them a good review? Nope. They are lucky they got one. Should not have gotten anything. Would I order again from them? Heck no. Will never ever order anything from them again. You still owe me $28.89 for those dead plants!Spoke with one of the family members regarding my dead grapes. After speaking with her, she will be sending me two new grape plants in the Spring. We will be in contact with each other. I will change my stars too!
I ordered a pair of elephant ear bulbs from them, but unfortunately one of them died along the way. Fortunately they replaced it with no questions asked and now I have two elephant ear plants that are already growing huge.
Shipping was fast and some of our bulbs are growing super fast.
The quality of the products are just fabulous. My garden right now is so full of color-waiting for my next flowers to arrive so I can start planting for late spring early summer.
I am not very satisfied with my experience with Holland Bulbs and am not likely to use them again in the future. My reasons for this are as follows:1) I placed an order on 12/10/20 for my Mother and wanted it there by Christmas. The order was not even shipped until 12/18/20 so they sat on it for a week. Unacceptable! I dont care how busy you are, get the staff to deal with it. It is the holidays and if you are that busy hire more people. In this day and age an order shouldnt sit for a week before it is shipped.2) I found out, from my Mother...NOT Holland Bulbs, that the order I placed was substituted for something else. I was never informed of this but my Mom said there was a note in the package. Today she sent me a picture of what she received and it was an absolutely unacceptable substitution. Most companies will upgrade an item if they have to substitute (and they will tell you about it!) but this seems like it was a downgrade. I paid almost $100 for a very nice arrangement for my Mother and the picture she sent me was bad. The flowers were underwhelming and it seems like they sent her something that was $20-$30 less in price.3) As a final insult to everything...Holland Bulb SPAMS. They do not honor your initial request to not receive any marketing emails. Even if you opt out, they will send you plenty of emails that you have to opt out again from. Tacky and unacceptable.
I gave 5 stars because all the bulbs I received were pristine, shipped exactly as promised and the prices are great!I wont know until next spring, but Im looking forward to bursts of color all over my large yard/garden.Its been years but Ive purchased bulbs from Holland Bulb farm several times and was never disappointed.
My bulbs arrived in October! Large, healthy, beautiful bulbs! Carefully packaged with no signs of crush or any damage. I planted them immediately and am looking forward to a beautiful yard from early to late spring.The instructional guide on planting is always a plus, too!

This was an excellent gift for my dad who loves flowers. They sent us daily up dates of the growth and enjoyed watching it change everyday. It bloomed just in time for Christmas.
First time customer this summer but I placed various orders for irises, tulips, and other bulbs. Great service and everything arrived at the appropriate planting time which was helpful for me. Their selection is amazing!! K was so pleased with all the iris colors and choices.
It took 3 shipments to send me the right bulbs. First shipment I was missing 3 packages and got one I didnt order. I called them. They sent another shipment to correct but still did not send all the ones I ordered. I had to call again. The third shipment got me my complete order. Accuracy they get one star. The bulb condition looked good but wont know till they come up next spring. The customer service was very nice but there is some kind of mishandling in the ordering and packing what I ordered.

Our plants arrived 2 weeks later and smashed in box and dead. Waiting on someone to take care of this. By then planting time will be over. $63 for dead ones.
Order shipped made it all the way to post office less that 7 miles from my home bit was sent back for not enough shipping information funny they have enough info to charge for order the billing address is the as shipping will not give them my business again the same order from another supplier placed online just as the first arrived in just 4 days not 2 weeks then 2 more for refund because they use 2 different shippers to handle orders trying g to save a$ not impressed

Missing good portion of my order. Im missing 3 giant allium bulbs and 1 iris rhizome. The missing ones are the most expensive ones I ordered and paid for. I cannot get anyone to answer the phone. The bearded iris rhizomes I did get arrived pretty dry and crispy. I planted them in hopes that they will survive until Spring, but I am not very hopeful. Im not at all satisfied with my purchase or the lack of customer service.In response to your response, I am missing one iris rhizome in addition to the allium, and its NOT just the leaves that are dry and crispy. The rhizomes themselves were dry, brittle, and light weight. The back and forth with this company is outrageous and obnoxious. Nobody bothered to call me back, just random back and forth emails. Nobody has even asked me if I want my money back for the missing items. At this point, its getting late in the season to plant this stuff.
Rotten bulbs and horrible customer service!I ordered about 10 bags of tulip bulbs from this company and only about 7 bags were sent to me. Amount those 7 bags of bulbs, 10 of them are rotten with green mold. I email the company and ask for whatever bulbs from my order to replace the rotten bulbs so I can plant them now to see flowers in Spring. They told me that they need to wait till Spring to see which rotten bulb are from which bag and then come up with a “solution”! I spent about $300 last month buying different bulbs from Holland Bulb Farms and now found out they don’t stand behind their what they sell at all. Will definitely stop buying from them in the future and warn all my friends from gardening groups.
Two years in a row I ordered Pauline Violet Ranunculus. First year they came way too late and never bloomed. Second year I ordered them early and started them indoors. They grew well and are starting to bloom...WHITE? I did not order WHITE, I ordered Pauline Violet. Probably wont be doing any more business with them as they are obviously not interested in my success. A refund and replacement NEXT YEAR does little to nothing to ease my frustrations. I do not recommend Holland Bulb Farms. They had two chances to do it right and they totally blew it. Also the corms i received were tiny compared to others i have bought, about half the size.

Purchased 100 Star bust bulbs (day lilies). It has been 2 months since planting. Half the bulbs never matured and the other half dont even look like day lilies. I am very disappointed besides wasting the money and the time.
Im so excited about my Dahlias. I received them during our ending winter and when the frost was over. The last week of May and today, June 11, I have Thomas Edison and Mrs. Eileen showing good growth. I know when frost starts up, Ill have to bring the bulbs, NO problem. Its a challenge for me, as Ive grown plants that have lasted for years.This is new for meand its great!
I ordered 150 Bulbs of tulips and daffodils. There was a great variety of colorin the tulips. The bulbs arrived in time for fall planting and appeared very healthy. Can’t wait for spring!

Could not be more disgusted with the customer service. Holland Bulb boasts a 100% Guarantee Grow. However, when it comes down to it this could not be further from the truth. I ordered bulbs, Oriental poppy and Fox tail Lilly starts in the fall. They were all planted properly and promptly. Come Spring all appear to have done well except for one of the poppies. **Perry White. After reaching out to customer service to resolve this thinking with the grow guarantee it would be quick and painless it has been nothing but the opposite. What could have been corrected with a quick question or clarification snowballed into a mess. Forget the small price of the poppy its the principle of boasting a guarantee and customer service and not meeting it. This could have been a raving review all other bulbs starts did fine and I can not wait to see their blooms. Instead, Im left feeling disappointed.
This company is also Tulip World/ is operating under the same address on BBB and use the same advertising on FB and other social media Im sure. It seems highly suspicious to me and I deeply regret ordering from them at all.You ask that I reach out to speak with you. I have, many times attempted to get in contact with you via email as directed. Maybe your time would be better utilized if it were focused on replying to customers whos money youve already taken.Anyone else reading this, dont order from here. Just pick a different place with more transparent operations.
Unbeatable prices, my first-ever order (a very large one at that) arrived on time and the tulip and daffodil bulbs seemed great. I planted immediately per their instructions so we shall see if the product holds up to its claim.

Purchased a Paniculata Sweet Autumn Vine Clemantis via mail (via Walmart.com site). It was small and didnt look vibrant upon arrival and never grew and wasted away.
