Riverside Auto is a true gem on the Eastside for any of your service work needs. I cannot recommend a shop more after twenty years involved in this industry. The owner is not only incredibly honest but also insightful and helpful. Thank you Peter and team for your hard work and for going above and beyond in a pinch for me. Also, the personal level of customer service at this local biz is second to none in my book in the area. 5 stars.
Last month I brought in my 2013 Honda Fit to have the front brakes replace since they were grinding. They assured me that my brake pads do not need replacing, they had half life on them and they were actually just dirty so they charged me $80 to clean them. A month later, Im at a different mechanic getting my brake pads, rotors, and calipers replaced because my brake pads were so worn down that they were grinding on the sensor, making a horrific grinding noise.Ive had many mechanics try to pull the wool over my eyes and clearly this is another one of those places. Also, their prices are too expensive. $80 just to clean my brake pads? Ridiculous, seeing as there werent even any brake pads left to clean. Also, my husband was quoted $1,900 for an air conditioning job where our second opinion mechanic can do it for less than a grand (and thats still the expensive quote.) Good thing the simple brake pad job got screwed up or Lord knows what would have happened to my husbands car had we gone through with his repairs. My biggest regret is not calling out Riversides quality of work the day after it happened. I wont be making that mistake again.
They always do quality work, I have been coming here since 2011. They always get the job done and dont upsell. Have recommended them to friends and family. Will come back for my next car need!
I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at Riverside Auto! My car was taken in twice to Riverside by a tow truck with AAA, and both times we had exceptional service. The staff was responsive, quick, fair and honest. They won’t recommend things that don’t need to be done. I needed a new alternator, and they helped me to figure out the warranty with my old one which saved me a lot of money. If I have car issues again, I will definitely send my car to Riverside Auto.
I cannot recommend Riverside Automotive enough. They have worked us in a full schedule when we were in a bind, always done quality work at reasonable prices, and fixed complicated problems even the dealer couldnt diagnose. We are customers for life for sure, take your vehicles to Riverside Auto!
I can’t recommend them enough! Riverside works with you with complete transparency. They let you know the cost of everything beforehand and are extremely thorough in their work. They care for both your car and your safety. An automotive service that I trust and feel fortunate to have them local.
These guys are professionals who do the job right the first time just s as promised.
Im a tow truck driver part time and Ive never had my car serviced here but Ive towed a few cars here so one can only assume that they do good work. Plus on the bright side, the fact that they have a tow drop off in the back of the building makes towing life a little easier now.
Scheduled an oil change for 1pm. At 1:45 my car was still in the lot.I had to schedule two weeks out to get this appointment. I guess this isnt that kind of place.
I have been to a couple of repair shops in the past four years and these guys are the most honest. Love them I will never go anywhere else.
Great service! Ive been there twice. They treated me politely, courteously, respectfully, even though most of the time I couldnt describe my issue clearly (lots of terms plus I am not a native speaker). They would tell you whats their plan, what they found to fix your problem before they asked you spend a penny. The issues were well-explained once you were there to pick up your car. Thanks for the great service!
I took my pretty old car there just to get anything necessary fixed to keep it running. They were super honest with me and didn’t try to push unnecessary repairs. They gave me awesome advice and cleaned something out for me for free. Will never take my car anywhere else while I’m living in this city!
Amazing service. Brought my old car in for a list of issues and before they even started on any of them, they brought me back in and showed me a hole in my subframe that made my car no longer safe to drive. Props to them for not doing some/all of the work before telling me about it.They ended up charging me nothing for that visit or my next visit when I had them check out my current car that I was looking to buy at the time. Just a good set of guys.
Great customer service, honest, and experienced. Found my mechanic in Milwaukee. Highly recommend
Have taken two vehicles to Riverside in the past year. One I was getting ready for sale and another that I was getting ready for a 3000+ mile road trip. The staff at Riverside was absolutely fantastic to work with. When things went awry with my vehicles (power steering went as I was driving there to pick up my other vehicle), they did a great job finding a way to fit me in, keep me informed and work with me to make the best possible choices for my needs. In going there, it didnt feel like it was a transaction. It felt like they actually wanted to know what the purpose of my vehicle was for and to make the right choices for that.Ill be going there for as long as Im in the Milwaukee area.
I recently moved to the area and this was my first visit to Riverside. I had an oil change and a quick check of my car. Professional and quick service. I will be returning.
I desperately needed an oil change and even though both him and I were super busy, Peter was able to schedule me in for a time that worked best me. He advised me on which type of oil was best suited for my particular vehicle and its needs and didnt try to upsell me. Vince performed a perfect oil change, checked all fluids and did a visual inspection of the tires and chassis. Thanks for an honest, thorough, and timely service!
I was in town on business and when I got to my Hotel - the valet couldnt start my car. I reached out to Riverside and they coordinated a tow, fixed my vehicle and even came to the hotel to pick me up so I didnt need to find a ride. Great Service, wonderful staff and economical! I highly recommend them.
I have called for estimates and information twice now and these guys are absolutely my go to place for repairs for my college student living in the area. Both Peter and Joe were friendly, honest, knowledgeable, and gave me sound advice. They didnt try to take advantage of a situation and will have our business and anyone else that we can recommend them to.
I received quality and efficient service here. Highly recommended!
Peter and the riverside automotive crew are trustworthy professionals that do a great job for a fair price. I 100% recommended them.
Excellent customer service and experience here - laid out all options for replacing my catalytic converter and the pros/cons of each as well as what local places might be able craft something custom for cheap. I wound up going with the official manufacturers replacement and they got it done fast and professional. My go-to auto shop from here on
Theyre very straightforward and patient, and took the time (lots of time) to explain things wrong with my vehicle. Would recommend.
Peter helped us out right away fixing 2 flats. Took care of it despite having a full schedule and did not overcharge at all. It was such a help to us and I would highly recommend riverside auto.
Only mechanics I could wholeheartedly recommended to anyone. They always treat me with respect and offer a college student discount. Also very honest with the amount of time and often charges me less than their estimates if the job takes less than anticipated.
Great place all around. Honest most of all. They’ll fix what needs fixing but more importantly they don’t do unnecessary work just to get a dollar like other auto shops.
Friendly, trusted, reliable, reasonable prices.
Not bad
Fixed by car in a day. Then I got my catalytic converter stolen. They quoted me a price, told me a place that might do it cheaper, and called to check in on me. Quality service, cares about the customer, truly. Would go again. They tell u like it is.
Ive been going to these guys for a few years now on a couple Lexus cars and and Acura. Theyre super honest and do great work. I highly recommend them.
Great guys! Super fast service and a fair price. I wish we had found these guys 3 years ago. Will be repeat customers as long as we have cars in Milwaukee.Called them Saturday night and left a message that daughters car needed brakes. Recieved a call back at 745am Monday morning telling us they could fit us in if we could get the car to them that day. We did by 11am...they got us an estimate within the hour and had the work done by 4:00pm. I really appreciate their high level of service and great workmanship. Thanks fellas!
Great reliable and dependable service. Thanks a lot. Highly recommended!!
Called for a service quote and they wouldnt give me one without scheduling an in person diagnostic.
I have had excellent service at Riverside Automotive Service. When my window did not roll back up I took it to Riverside and was helped immediately when I took it in. I greatly appreciate the service and would recommend going to Riverside automotive!
Walked in with no appointment with my flat tire. Fixed in 5 min. Good value. Thanks guys!
Im in town to help out my son and his girl friend get packed and moved. I took his car to Riverside for a long-needed oil change, after speaking with Peter on the phone. He was so helpful and delightful! The service was super efficient, extremely reasonable, and everyone was so nice. And honestly, I have never been in a waiting room at an auto shop that came close to being as spiffy as this one! Riverside Automotive gained two new customers today, and if I lived anywhere near this state, I sure would bring my car here!
I made an appointment to have the rusted bolts holding my skid plate in place removed and replaced. When I dropped off my car, I last minute asked them to look at my windshield wipers and replace them if needed. Chris agreed, and asked if there was anything else I needed checked out. I mentioned that I had an appointment later in the day, so I requested to pick my car up as early as possible — he told me they would accommodate that. Within just 2 hours, everything was done and Chris called to let me know right away. Riverside Auto offers shuttle service to and from the shop, making drop off and pick up very easy. Pricing was incredibly low, they only charged me for the cost of the windshield wiper blades. The rest of the guys at the shop were incredibly friendly and efficient. I’ll be using Riverside Auto for my future auto maintenance!
Ive been going to Riverside for at least 5 years and would never go anywhere else for service. I trust them 100% - several times Ive gone in for what I thought might be a serious problem and was told that it was super minor and needed no work, or that it was relatively minor and would be surprisingly inexpensive. This has been the opposite of my experiences at other auto places, where you always feel you are being taken advantage of with alarmist scenarios and overpriced (and maybe unnecessary) repairs. Peter always chats and offers coffee - very personable and makes you feel like his favorite customer! Thanks for the honest and friendly service!
Thank you so much for all of your help! Everyone my wife and I worked with were kind and courteous. Peter went out of his way to help us and provided us with trustworthy, knowledgeable advice. I couldnt have been happier with our experience at Riverside Auto. All the best!
Riverside Auto has to be one of the most honest shops I have experienced in Milwaukee. Consistently over the last two years I have had issues with my vehicle and wondered if the other shops were actually fixing anything. Over the summer, I had some issues with my engine and oil pressure light, I took it in here, and they checked everything out, at a minimal cost. One thing I also appreciated was the transparency between the mechanics and myself. I actually talked to the guy who was working on my car (Greg, who is fantastic by the way), and he explained everything to where I could understand him. I also had another issue where my vehicle was burning oil (its old, people), and rather than sinking more money in to it, he was real with me and told me to just continue filling it with oil.At one point when another issue popped up of it not starting, but when I took it in it wouldnt reproduce the same problem, the offered to send someone out to check it out. I dont think thats a service Ive heard any shop offer. They really care about their customers and want to make sure youre getting the best service as possible.Oh, and the price. Excellent compared to other shops in the area. I honestly will never go to a different shop.
Upfront, friendly. There’s a student discount, don’t forget to ask for it!
Paid for a NEW battery but it looks like they just greased up the bad one I already had.. Feel like I got totally ripped off. Never going here again and I highly dont recomend them
Friendly folks. Fair and reasonable. Give them a try!
This is my first google review ever so that should be telling by itself. Peter was very helpful, honest, and caring to the point that I felt the need to write a review. Everyone was patient and understanding and this was my first time visiting this place. Great job!
Wonderful guys! They are always able to get me scheduled for an appointment and answer all of my questions. I dont think I will go anywhere else.
Ive come here for some routine and not-so-routine work, and overall have been pleased. Ive dealt mostly with Joe and hes great, but I once had to deal with someone else and it almost made me leave and never come back. Joe came through again though. Fair prices, quick and quality work, usually good customer service.
Attention Parents with students in Milwaukee!!! I would highly recommend Riverside Automotive!! I have never met Joe, but had dealt with him over the phone a couple of times; I live in Minnesota. My daughter is a grad student in Milwaukee and Joe has taken very good care of her and her car. He was very thorough in letting me know what was wrong with her car and what the costs would be. I am familiar with repair costs and the prices were very fair. They did work twice on my daughters car (older model) and always treated her with respect. Just this week her roommate/cousin also needed to have her car looked at and they could not have been nicer to her she said. It is great to know that when I am not there, Joe and Riverside will take care of my daughters and nieces car. Thanks you!!
Took my car in for leaking coolant and failing heat, they ended up diagnosing a broken head gasket. They did several hours of work, but after learning the issue was more serious, they removed the minor repairs in order to help lessen the potential cost, and even discounted the hourly labor. Very kind, helpful, and willing to work with the customer. Theyre very knowledgeable and straightforward with the customer, also extremely pleasant in trying to schedule short notice. Worth mentioning at they time they had a 10% discount on labor for UWM Students.
My favorite auto shop! Amazing professional services from all the staff!
On July 5th, my car suddenly stopped in downtown Milwaukee and was towed to Riverside Automotive. I cannot say enough about how well I was treated as a customer (they went above and beyond). Additionally, the repair was expertly done at a FAIR and honest price. They are an ethical and honest company who care about their customers. I would not hesitate to use them again albeit under better circumstances.
Its my first car and I dont know a lot about them and I lost power steering a few days ago and they let me come in today and they were going to show me where and how to find my power steering fluid tank to fill it. Turns out I have electric power steering so it was just a short in the fuse a few days ago. They were very nice and put up with me and my questions and zero knowledge about cars. They made me feel better. Thanks you guys!
Cant get more fair and honest service. Peter was great to work with and pointed out poor work done during a previous repair. Wish we would have found this shop sooner while my daughter was at UWM!
This is my favorite auto shop Ive taken my car too. Im not an expert in cars and theyre always very kind and explain what it is theyre doing. I drive a Prius, and theyve never had any issues with my car. I have less issues now than I ever had with my Subaru.
Great customer service. Mechanics work quickly. Parts markup is really high, considering most shops Ive worked with get parts discounts. Paid $200 for a $75 part from OReillys. .
I heard positive things about Riverside and called when I had a suspension coil break in the back of my car. I wanted to go as cheaply as I could because its an old vehicle I plan on replacing within weeks. Joe gave me a reasonable quote, broken down by service/labor and then parts. When I told him my plan for getting a new vehicle and that I had even taken a test-drive earlier in the week, he encouraged me to call the salesman at the dealership to see if it would affect my trade-in if I left my car in the condition it was in. He offered this advice, even knowing it would make a difference whether I end up bringing my vehicle in or not.I did what he suggested and was happy to hear that the dealer would accept the trade-in without me having to repair the coil. That saved me a lot of money and time.I think that speaks to exactly how this service center handles business. They are out to save you money and aim to inconvenience you as little as possible. This time I wasnt able to reward them by bringing my business in — but it will definitely be the place I will go the next time I need to — and I will also be telling my friends that its the first place they should check in the event they need car care.Thank you, Joe!
The only auto shop well visit. Absolutely trustworthy and highly ethical, they will treat you with the greatest respect, and your vehicle with professional care. Highly recommend the pros at Riverside.
Joe and the guys get the job done everytime
My husband and I have been taking our 99 Camry and 07 Sienna here for many years. The service from management as well as the mechanics is always friendly and professional. I feel like they never try to sell me something I don’t need and, in many instances, they have given me options to match my budget. Most recently, I took my car in because the exhaust system was sounding loud and they diagnosed that the flange on the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Instead of trying to sell me a new catalytic converter and flange, they referred me to a local garage that does welding work and could fix the flange for a lot less money. I highly recommend Riverside for their honesty and their quality work.
Affordable repairs, professional and knowledgeable staff.Wonderful service. They did a perfect work at fair prices. I appreciate this business a lot.
Love these guys! They give it to you straight, they do it for a fair price, and our car is running great again. I would definitely recommend them, weve never had a bad experience.
Called up this morning to get my tired patched up and I was in and out within 20 min. Very helpful staff, Joe was who helped me. I was surprised by how fast they had my vehicle in and out. Nice waiting area with plenty of magazines to check out also.I will be going back if I have any issues with my car. Overall great experience.
They are always honest and affordable. The only thing thats tough is that they are always busy but thats a pretty good sign too, isnt it?
Great service! They went out of their way to get my 01 Volvo in shape for plate renewal. Very courteous and professional. Thanks again.
Very communicative, friendly, but they did not inspect my exhaust thoroughly before cutting into it, so the proposed fix isnt going to fix anything, but Im paying (and waiting) for it anyway.Glad I at least know about it, but it wouldnt have been hard to reach a hand around the pipe and feel the hole in it BEFORE cutting the bolts off to replace a 30$ gasket that isnt going to help anything.Overall very helpful staff (Peter is a very knowledgeable and friendly person), but rookie mistakes that cost me money and an afternoon are going to have to knock off a couple stars.
Small neighborhood auto clinic with very good service. The guys there know what they are doing and are more than willing to make accommodations (like allowing us to keep the parts they replaced). Their service is fast and reasonably priced. Very nice to be dealing with a shop that is not just part of a chain because it is more personal. Also in a nicer part of Milwaukee that is not too scary to frequent at night for when your car breaks down in the wee hours. Highly recommend them. When their shop is closed and you are stuck, they recommend using Grubes towing and they are really top-notch - very friendly, prompt, and efficient.
Greg was incredibly helpful and friendly in assisting me with getting a new tire for my Honda. He worked diligently to find a good price and get the work done quickly. And they had Styx playing in the waiting room.
Professional service. I wont go back to the dealer after the services preformed on our cars by Riverside.
I got a quick oil change here. They also helped me with replacing two of my parking lights and all said and done it was only a little over fifty bucks.
We got flat due to a screw by a construction site. Called them right away and they said to just bring it in! They repaired the tire and put it back on the car, all for under $30. Definitely will be coming back again for my auto needs!
Peter was EXTREMELY helpful and took time to help me find what I needed even though it wasnt benefiting the company. Very patient and nice! I would recommend this place to anyone!!
I had my own oil and filter and they did an oil change for $25, which was a reasonable fee for labor.Nice and tidy place with friendly staff. It just took longer than usual for an oil change, but other than that, everything else was good.
I have had a few bad experiences with auto mechanics and finally found Riverside Automotive, thankfully near my home. I know very little about cars and I know I have been taken advantage of in numerous situations in the past. I went to Riverside to get my a/c fixed. I was fearful that the work would cost between $1000 - $2000, as another mechanic told me so. Riverside personnel took their time analyzing and explaining to me the problem, even showing me a diagram of what needed to be replaced. Always courteous and even welcoming to my dog Katie, Riverside has proved themselves to be professional, clear, respectful, and their work is excellent. They do not take advantage of women like me. I have recommended Riverside to those who have asked and I will confidently continue to do so. The cost? Much less than the the other mechanic: $750. YAY! Thank you Pete and everyone at Riverside!
We like to buy used cars which are usually out of warranty so Riverside Automotive is our go-to place. These guys take such good care of us and always make time to squeeze us in for emergency repairs. And it all feels so civilized!-LoraDeWan Dental Wellness
Honest, genuine, and trustworthy people. I never feel like Im being scammed! These guys are the best!
Ive been taking my car(s) here for years. Customer service is friendly and professional. I trust the judgement of the mechanics and they do good work. My car is well taken care of - peace of mind!
Awesome I towed cars there for them but dont tow cars no more the guys r great
Pretty decent. cleanest front office for any auto shop they should get an award for that alone.
Great price and nice people.
A cylinder in my vehicles engine was not firing and this being the closest garage to where I live I decided to give them a shot. Big mistake! They spent two hours trying to diagnose the misfire only to still have no idea what was wrong with it. Maybe Im old fashioned but if you cant fix something you shouldnt charge people for your failures - they even told me I should buy a new car rather than bother fixing mine. Not able to afford more more of Riversides trouble shooting (much less a new car) my in-laws picked up my vehicle and took it to their family mechanic in Salem where it was fixed in an hour and has now been running great for the last year. I will never take my car to Riverside Auto again.
The best service you can find. These folks are also extremely skilled. You cannot go wrong taking your car to Riverside.
Called to get some help with my tire pressure because the dummy light kept telling me I was low even though Id added air at the gas station. They got me in right away! Took my car back, came back and handed me the keys (maybe 5 minutes or less). Told me I had added too much air which was setting off the sensors, so they made sure all 4 tires were at the right pressure and sent me on my way. Refused to take any compensation for it too! I will DEFINITELY be returning and referring friends. Thanks Riverside Automotive - you guys are amazing!
Joe was extremely kind and concise when it came to fixing my vehicle. Great guys that will work quickly to find you the best solution to any problem and do not overcharge or lie about what needs to be done.
Definitely the best place to take your car.Highly recommend.
They checked the starter on my 2001 GMC Jimmy and gave the truck an oil change. They also were able to put the rear-drivers-side window up after being stuck halfway. Peter was friendly and polite. Decent price for the work put into my vehicle and I got a 10% discount and an extended warranty because I am a AAA member.
Excellent service, will definitely return!
We have been going to them for over twenty years, we will not go anywhere else. We took our car to the dealership when it was under warranty, and the service was horrible. We know the people at Riverside do the work, and do it right no questions asked.
My sons car broke down in Milwaukee and was towed here by AAA. First class, fast and reliable service. The cost for repairs ended up being 60% of quoted estimate because they could reuse parts. Very trustworthy and highly recommended.
Went in to for a repair, they were friendly, informative, and fast. And they have a student discount! I got a screw in my tire about a week later and they removed it for free. A great shop!
Ive always found them speedy, helpful, friendly -- they often literally go the extra mile to help us out.
My car broke down during a very snowy rush hour and was towed here to get repaired and see what was wrong with it. Everyone that I spoke to thought that the cars alternator was the issue, so thats what I expected to hear from the mechanics. Im a college student and low on funds, so I was hoping to have some understanding of that, and at first, that seemed to be the case. I was informed that a new battery and an oil change was needed before they could test everything, so I agreed to that at an astronomically high price for something that I could have done myself. At the end of all of that, they said that there wasnt anything else wrong, even after me asking repeatedly to check the alternator. They assured me everything was fine, and I paid the astronomical fee for the battery and oil change. Well, obviously something else is wrong because my car has died multiple times since I took it to Riverside a week ago. Extremely disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and the assurances they gave me. But thank god I got an oil change!
Best experience Ive had at an auto shop. Good customer service and always feel like they have my best interests in mind, rather than their own.
I went there with an electrical problem - possibly a battery, possibly an alternator, possibly a starter. I also asked if they could diagnose a rattle. I was told it would be $40.00 for a full electrical system test. I agreed. Two minutes later, the tech comes back and says it was a bad battery. I had already bought a spare at Walmart and he asked if I wanted it put in. I said yes. I figured that would be included in the $40.00, especially considering it only took the tech about 2 minutes to diagnose the problem. They didnt mention that there would be an extra charge. They also put my car on a lift and quickly determined my car had an exhaust shield rattle which they couldnt fix at the moment. When I went to check out, no more than 30 minutes after I had gotten there, I was told I owed them $70.00 - $40.00 for the electrical system check and a 15 minute labor charge for putting the battery in. I was in the shop for a total of 30-45 minutes. I paid the bill, but I felt like they should have included the battery installation in the $40.00 charge considering how quickly they were able to determine what was wrong. Because they didnt, I probably wont ever go back. For me, its the little things...
Wonderful guys! They are always able to get me scheduled for an appointment and answer all of my questions. Keep the goods work up!
Go HERE! these guys are so nice and straight forward
My car wouldnt start in a blizzard, so I had AAA tow to this neighborhood garage. They told me my car would never start again and charged me $50 for an oil change and labor. I had AAA tow it from this place to my normal garage and the spark plugs were replaced. My 2000 Saturn started fine. Its been running for 2 months now and starts on a first try with plenty of life.On a side note, I sat in their lobby until close for AAA to show up, and a lot of people were standing around in the waiting room. A woman was shoveling her car out across the street and I heard jokes until one of the men went to help her. This certainly made me question the professional look my car got if this happens in front of customers instead of behind the garage.
Repeat customer set up for an oil change and general overview. Vince brought me back to the shop when he found my subframe was corroded beyond repair. He patiently pointed out the state of specific components, the process it took to get them there, and the options I had. I am thankful he had the integrity to not just change my oil and send me on my way but rather show me a problem that couldve led to further costly repairs and endangerment. I had been bringing my 98 Saturn SL2 Wagon to Riverside Automotive primarily for the convenience of location and student discount but now I can recommend them to anyone who can make the drive.
Proper diagnosis, fixed the issue I brought it in for. Left with more and worse issue than when I came in with. How does that work? Oh yeah, they accuse you of ignoring the problems you leave with. Oh yeah, they are ridiculously expensive, and rude when it is your turn to talk.Go elsewhere. Anywhere. The dealer. Your own garage if you have tools. Heck, ask the homeless man living behind your local house party hang out. Just anywhere but Riverside. They suck.
Asked for a quote on how much brakes and rotors would cost. Response: I dont give quotes over the phone. I dont trust anyone elses diagnosis. Here is my beef with this type of mentality. I get that someone might have diagnosed the car incorrectly. If that is the case, I get that the price would be different. However, you should be able to tell me how much it costs for brakes and rotors for my car. Why waste my time or yours?
First time i brought my car here they were nice. Since that time each time i have called they have been rude and dont seem very helpful or optimist only negative. They seem way more concerned about getting paid then helping out their customers. My friend also told me they forgot to screw the oil cap on after an oil change. Very over priced!
Took my car because my service engine light was on. They told it would cost 1500 to replace entire cooling system. I took it to the dealership for a second opinion and found out that it was a faulty thermostat. I clearly was not very happy at all, that exchange happened a year ago and my car has never overheated.
