My golden is at the end of the road because of bad hips and age, i called to ask if they could examine him in car or outside, to avoid him skating on the slippery floor that all vets have...they could and did, Im very thankful for that.He got a rabies shot in the car, but he needed blood drawn and nails done so they carried him from car to their examining table and back out...very nice

The veterinarian took my sons dog who was in a fight with another dog immediately. My son called around the veterinarians. However, due to Covid all veterinarians are busy both in the west coast and in the East Coast. We explained our situation and they told my son to bring Louie in right away. Their staff are great. We took kittens in for their shot and general health check. Thought it would be fast, but ended up taking 2 hours.

I took my senior dog here for the first time for a check up and some vaccinations. He gets major anxiety going into new places and meeting new people, especially when he’s being poked and prodded. He can be difficult to handle and that sometimes is an understatement. I don’t really leave reviews but the care and service we received from them was incredible. He seen Dr. Alyssa Hoehn and she was really patient and understanding with him. I’m a bit of a helicopter fur mom and she was helpful answering all my questions and addressing all my concerns. I’m very pleased with this place. I highly recommend.

After the surgery, We received follow-up calls every day for about 10 days. Even my own doctor wouldnt have done this. We knew that we could call Dr Tama if there were any problems and would be able to come into the office right away.This was not necessary. Everything went very smoothly. The most amazing part was the follow-up.Having to say goodbye to our sweet boy was heart wrenching. But today Dr Tama went out of the way to help us, support us. We are so grateful for Dr Tama and his staff for standing by our side to ease our pains. They are so amazing!

Its hard to get appointments here, they put you on hold for long but once you manage to get an appointment everything else is good. They spend time explaining everything to you and will follow up after.

My friend Cat had to die because no one was there to help her poor creature. Shame of you. Hope the state Board remove your licenses . Not sure how you people sleep. No one should go there and trust them. Be aware !!!!

Dr. Tama Mumah and his staff are super caring and professional. They have taken care of our pets for nearly 15 years. They are there when we need them and offer expert care, especially Dr. Mumah. Its no wonder they win Best Of Milpitas awards every year.

Be very careful about this vet Tama.after looking at other reviewers recent review comments i cant help but to notice that there seems to be a pattern here that Tama is very weak and incompetent and lacks the basic veterinary training and credential in treating pets in their late and serious conditions. All he could do is some simple treatment with high fees and unnecessary repeated labs without real purpose. My cat also died because of his failure to conduct some basic treatment and it is even more problematic that Tama just gave very quick and easy suggestion to euthanize my cat several times only with some early symptoms. Not sure why he was so eagerly trying to put down pets, to collect fees for the handling pets bodies? or even some other business? just be very very utmost careful when he suggests to put down your pet. be very aware that he will never recommend you go to see any specialist because he knows had you gone anywhere else his poor treatment and lack of basic training and skills on pets would be exposed so clearly.

My dog died one month ago. She took surgery to get the sample for a lab test, and weve been waiting for ~3 weeks and cannot get any response from them. The time we had her removed the stitch, they finally told us the lab lost the sample, and they will come back to us next week - turned out this is another lie - they never called us back. We requested a refund and sent our pet to another hospital, and the vet in the other hospital told us that the TAMA vet said we were the one who was not going to send the sample to the lab...??? They lied to other people, again.Totally not recommended and please dont send your pet here.

Helpful, knowledgeable, and transparent staff. They like pitbulls and have done wonders with our Pitties and their health.

Although we moved away from Milpitas, we continue to bring our dog to Dr Mumah. He and his staff are extremely caring and professional. There are many other choices for pet care, but we only trust Tama Veterinary Hospital.

Really can’t recommend this place enough. Came in for the first time for an emergency visit and the doctors and technicians saw my dog immediately and treated her with attention and detail while considering the cost for us and allowed us to decline certain procedures and costs. Especially appreciated how patient they were with us (didn’t feel rushed like at other places). The office is clean and well taken care of. Dr. Ehlinger and Castillo were attentive and clear. Every single vet tech was kind and even let us go to the back and feed her and spend some time with her! Price was very good and they explained everything.

They are never available to answer questions and always have client ahead of you while you wait indefinitely for them to get back and you are forced to choose other clinics in times of need. They claim they are top vets in Milpitas. Makes me wonder how worse other clinics are. I have been their client for a year now and now I am taking my pup to be taken care by another health care professionals

Dr. Tama and his team are simply wonderful. Dr. Tama is so incredibly helpful and understanding, and truly cares for his patients and their human owners.I recently had a situation with my cat who wouldnt eat and was lethargic. Obviously we were very concerned about him. Dr. Tamas staff was able to squeeze in an appointment for my cat very quickly, and immediately took him into care. Dr. Tama was extremely thorough with the exam and recommended checking a variety of factors so we could understand the root cause of the issue. Even though my cat had to stay overnight with them, I knew he was in good care, and the staff explained how they gave him the royal treatment. Luckily, the next day, he was able to come home and now seems to be doing just fine.Dr. Tama is extremely thorough with his exams, and goes over everything with owners to make sure we are comfortable and informed with the situation. He spends time with owners on the phone to ensure we hear directly from him, and are kept very up-to-date with information. Their prices also are very fair compared to other vets in the Bay Area.In addition, the staff has the COVID-19 protocols down, and I at no point feel unsafe for either myself or my fur babies. Kudos for the team for being heroes for our pets during these crazy times!To simply put it: I wont take my fur babies anywhere else. So much so that I will drive all the way from Alameda to bring my pets to see them. Dr. Tama is the only vet I trust with their health and well-being and I cant thank him and the team enough. All of them are so great and wonderful people, who truly care about your pets. Thank you Dr. Tama & staff for everything you do!

I can not say enough about Dr. Hoehn and staff, they are amazing. I actually thought I was going to lose my baby because I could not afford an extremely expensive surgery and then Dr. Hoehn gave my baby a chance to live. She advised me on all the positives and negatives in regards to my baby and I cant be more grateful. She was kind and pleasant, she explained everything to me from what she was doing or going to do and what can happen. I would highly recommend her to anyone that has an animal that you see as your child. She is amazing and so is the staff! :)

This hospital is extremely unorganized. They may be nice but honestly I dont find them on top of things. I brought my cat in for two things. Second opinion and shots. Of course they had no problem coming out to tell me how much my visit was with no explanation so I kindly asked them for details. Of course the BIG bill did NOT include the shots. I called several times in advanced to make sure they had previous records and they assured me they would take care of it. They DID NOT!! This was my first trip.Second trip was even worse. With appointment I spent nearly 2 1/2 hours and again no records. They literally came to my car to give my cat shots after they forgot. Very unorganized. I would not recommend this place.

After going to all kinds of local vets in our area we have found Tama to be the best for customer service and care for our dog. The staff has done a phenomenal job during the virus outbreak in ensuring our pet’s needs are met during this volatile time. Knowledgable with dogs and cats but I didn’t have a good experience with the reptiles. Would look for someone with more reptile experience.Dr Tama did refund my exam fees bc I was not happy with the reptile exams. I appreciate that and they’re very kind and friendly staff.

Dr. Tama and Dr. Castillo are extremely kind and helpful taking care my dog. They take cares of details and also did great operations for my dog surgery. My dog always happy to go to the vet (which is not normal lol).

This place is amazing! I was looking for a new veterinarian for my dog that struggles with severe anxiety. Upon meeting my dog, Dr. Tama noticed right away how Buddy was struggling, and he took immediate action. We were able to come up with some treatment options, and everything was affordable! I feel like I am able to give my dog the very best care by bringing him here.

The staff and vet (Dr. Castillo) are always friendly, professional and caring. We love the longer hours, weekend hours and holiday hours. It provides us with a sense of security knowing that if any of our fur babies is not feeling well, we can go to our vet clinic with the confidence that people we know and trust will be looking after our precious babies.

I love that you are open every day and later and willing to stay if needed. It reminds of how vet practices used to be when care was priority and not money. Dr. Tama and his staff were excellent and we greatly appreciate the care and compassion extended to us in an emergency situation. We were impressed with his knowledge and professionalism while showing great concern and empathy. Our elderly poodle mix was in great pain from a rupture disc yet to be diagnosed. They made her as comfortable as possible, keeping her most of a Sunday to administer IV fluids and meds. He recommended we see neurology and even called Sage to arrange for us to come in early Monday morning. We are very grateful. Ginger (our girl) was diagnosed after an MRI, and had surgery the next day (yesterday). We were able to pick her up this afternoon and the healing and recovery will take about a month at home. We were referred to another excellent facility for the care Ginger needed. She had lost use of all four legs and the hope is that she will again become fully ambulatory in the weeks to come. Thank you, Dr. Tama. We are keeping in touch and highly recommend this vet located close to our home. We wont hesitate to visit him again if our regular vet is not available.

Very friendly, helpful, and absolutely caring staff. They took care of my cats medical needs in a timely and effective manner. Their prices are definitely reasonable and they don’t push upon services that aren’t absolutely needed as in other vets I’ve been to. Hands down the best vet clinic I have ever been too. The staff are so sweet and helpful every time we come here. We had to bring two pups in for an emergency :( and they sprang into action quick when we got there. The pups had to stay overnight and my boyfriends sister (currently in vet school in a different state) wanted to call to ask about the case. Dr. Tama had no problem talking with her about what was happening. What an incredible doctor to, not only cure our sweet pups, but to talk with a third person who was curious. Keep up the great work everyone!Oh! And a special shoutout to Marissa who has a genuine passion for animals! She’s such a pleasure every time we go to the vet!

My cat Reno died in May 2019 at Tama Veterinary Hospital. He was put to sleep after I received repeated recommendations from Dr. Tama at the time. Although ultimately it was my decision to agree with the suggestion, i feel very sad and had doubt about it right after the death of my cat. I visited a several veterinary clinics last summer with the cats medical record and indeed i heard different opinions from some vets. I am wrting this review not only to get my cat a closure, but also to avoid other innocent pet owners from experiencing the same negligence and dishonest treatment.1) At the time when the cat was put to sleep, even though Dr. Tama repeatedly told me the cats condition was in very bad shape and he got to go, a male nurse in the clinic strongly suggested that it might be premature for the decision. That has been always a haunting feeling for me in all this experience that on one hand the doctor in the clinic was so certain for the cat to go, and yet on the other hand, the nurse was so obvious showing his disagreement on the decision and as if almost like judging me when i hold the cat for him to go. That experience was terrible. Also, when the cat died and before i left the clinic, there was no greetings or any kind follow up from Dr. Tama even when i passed by him in hall way. The whole experience was very unprofessional.2) A few days before the cats recommended death, Dr. Tama gave my cat a very tough and extremely expensive human drug (erythropoietin) to treat him for anemia which is not a life threatening condition at the time and got the cat collapse rapidly. Also, to use this drug, it is normally required some test done to the cat and Dr Tama did not do that at all. And, the drug is known for having strong side effect for cat with heart and high blood pressure problem which happen to be the condition of Reno which Dr. Tama was fully aware of. In fact, a few months prior, in Jan 2019, Dr. Tama gave another recommendation to put down my cat, only because there was water seen in his lungs, and before any further close test and checking. I did not listen to that and had another four more wonderful months with my cat Reno.3) Last year I wrote a Yelp review about this. However, the review i wrote last year after my cat died was somehow hidden on Yelp and can not be seen by others. And in the response by Dr. Tama to my review, he mentioned that the cat was diagnosed with lung cancer and it was never the case. In fact, Dr. Tama never was able to diagnose the exact reason why there was water in Renos lungs nor did he give me any advise for me to see a specialist.Just to be very aware that for some reason Dr. Tama was so eager to pursuade per owners to euthnazie their pets, he did this several times to me and eventually got me confused enough to agree which i regret so much to this day. I really dont quite understand why the reason he was so eager almost anxoious to see pets to be euthnaized in his clinic.

Tama Vet is great! Their office is always clean and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. They are also great with my dog Daisy. Dr. Tama himself is fantastic with Daisy. He is gentle and patient even though shes usually terrified when we take her to the vet. I have recommended Dr. Tama to friends and family and will continue doing so.

Tama Vet and his staff provide excellent care for their patients and their owners. I started going there to help out the with rescue dogs they board and after seeing the quality of care they provide I started bringing my own dog there.My dog is not easy to handle. He, too, was a rescue and is terrified of vet offices. I brought him in for an exam and he peed all over the exam room and even on the vet tech. They were completely understanding.During they exam, Dr. Lau was very gentle with him. There was nothing wrong with the vet I took him to before, but I felt that the staff here was friendlier and more informative. I had a sense that no matter who I spoke with, they knew what they were talking about.When it came to administering medications, they were very thorough in explaining the directions. I dont feel rushed or short-changed there. I moved to San Mateo and will still make the drive out to bring my dog there. Wonderful service all around.

I love Tama! I have been to several different vets and they always try to get the most money out of you. Tama cares for you and your pets, he tries to save me money by telling me what to watch for before buying a whole bunch of medications and shots. Our bunny needed to get spay/neuter. We made an appointment for an exam. It was pretty busy so we had to wait for a few minutes. Dr. Tama checked our bunny and he was healthy. He gave us a consultation which was very helpful. Two hours before they closed, he had time to do the spay/neuter on the same day. It was nice of him since we had a busy schedule. We picked him up after an hour. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Tama.

My dog is a new patient of Dr. Tamas and I couldnt be happier with the services we received. We actually had to take the dog in for an emergency before our first exam appointment and they were able to get us right in. The last vet we had was an absolute nightmare, so to have a doctor that is attentive and provides step by step communication for the care our dog would receive was amazing. The service has been great at Tama Vet Hospital for my dog and myself. We brought our cat in for an emergency about 10 months ago because her urine contained blood. Dr. Tama took care of her very well. It turned out there were 17 stones in my cats bladder. Tama Vet Hospital is fantastic! They always get my little kitty in and out quickly and everyone is so kind to her and to me. When we found that she had chronic eye problems, they were very helpful in explaining to me everything that could possibly be causing it and testing as necessary. You know the people are great by how the animals respond to them and kitty is always as relaxed as she can possibly be while at a vet :) I will continue to bring her here!

Had to go here on little notice due to our cat not eating and our regular vet being booked up. Dr. Tama was very nice and seemed to genuinely care. Unfortunately they couldnt figure out what was wrong with him and he started eating a day later. Got quite a large bill for not having a reason associated with it, but we will be keeping Tama in mind for future visits.

Our experience was wonderful ! We initially made n appointment two weeks prior, to our arrival today, and had to cancel due to being out of the area. The staff were very understanding and accommodated for another appointment time. However, the scheduling staff notified me the same day that the Vet that takes care of our species of animal was not on that day and offered to reschedule. Which says diligence !On the day of the appointment we were checked in with a few minutes, greeted by one staff cat ( usually stays in the lobby) very very friendly. Once inside the examination room Dr. TAMA was very very nice, you could tell he had a lot of interested in our little baby bearded dragon and the nature of our visit was handled with genuine care. My son had tons of questions doctor answered each one ( even a repeat few).Bottomline he assessed our pet, gave his recommendations some on the spectrum that had my eyes bulk out due to the reality of diagnostic test for pets vs humans.. Working in health care these are routine test that we dont think twice about but when you have need to have these done for your pet you realize that care is a full 360 when you become a pet owner.Dr. Tama met us with options a initial treatment plan as our case was not emergent, and with a follow up to make sure the worst case scenario was being ruled out! Love the options, appreciate the genuine care.I would recommend this facility at any time..

Our lab loved Dr. Tama. Previously, he had hated going to the Vet. He wasnt feeling well, when we called they took him right away, kept him overnight and by the following day he was feeling much better. Dr Tama Veternary Hospital has been my families other doctor for more than 5 years. We are extremely satisfied with the quality, expertise and concern for our pets. The staff is outstanding and always give TLC to my dog.I would HIGHLY recommend Tama Verternary Hospital.

Wonderful service. I walked in with a stray kitten full of fleas. They were able to help me within 5 to 7 minutes; I didnt have an appointment. They gave the kitten an exam, shots, and flea medicine. That was 3 weeks ago, and the kitten has been with us and our other cat since then. Highly recommended.

Great Veterinarians! I have a golden retriever with allergies and have been going here a lot for 5 years. Always enjoy coming even though my puppy always gets so nervous.

I love going to Tama because, I only take my dog to places that I trust! The staff is friendly and knowlegeable. They do not impose anything on you and they dont charge a lot. I highly recommend them if you want to take your pets where you feel comfortable.

This is the best vet hospital in the bay area! I absolutely love Dr. Tama!! My dog is pretty vicious and tends to snap at people who try to hold her... but Dr. Tama was able to hold her with NO problem. My dog tends to have a lot of problems so we see Dr. Tama about once a month and hes always keeping her healthy. I seriously dont know what Id do without him.

Tama is very dedicated to help. My poor little 3 month old was unfortunate enough to break his leg but Dr was available immediately and gave me my options. We chose to go with a cast and not go with surgery considering how young he was. The following 5-6 weeks had multiple repeat visits for recasting, and everytime we got good service. I was told what to expect from day 1, so there were no new surprises. The boy has fully healed now and is jumping around like a jack rabbit, thanks to Tama

We recently moved to Sf, but we drive down to Tama to ONLY see DR Castillo. Hands down the best Doctor we can ask for.

The staff at Tama Vet Hospital make you feel welcome from the moment you step in. They answer all your questions without rushing you through the process and make sure youre comfortable with the care you and your pet are receiving. They even call to follow up with you after each appointment to see how you and your pet are doing. I highly recommend this vet hospital!

One of the best vets in the area. They are open all week even on Sundays at very convenient hours. Dr. Tama and his staff have always exceeded my expectations.
