I LOVE my Middleton, WI Post Office. Our family also LOVES our Mailman, Pete. He is so nice, professional, and helpful. All the staff has gone out of their way to help during the Covid Crisis. Yes, it would be nice to have more pic up times at the drop box during the day but thats only a suggestion. The cashiers are friendly and helpful. Everyone should try and show more appreciation towards ALL U.S. Postal workers. They are the champions that show up 6 days a week where you live and work! Thank your postal worker next time you see them. THANKS!
Ive always received excellent service at this location. The staff are considerate and thoughtful.
Does anybody even work here? Have been trying to call for the last half hour and it won’t even go to a voicemail! No one picks up the phone.
Middle of a weekday and 1 person was working the counter. Then a customer ahead of me asks a question making that 1 employee search the back room for 15 minutes for his lost package, making the 20 people in line wait the whole time.
Commercial Address, end of the building. LOVED my old carrier, but apparently management didnt. Its a shame, he was most friendly AND the most helpful. He would actually check to see if I had outgoing mail, what a concept! Now the fill-in carriers wont even come to my door half the time. Today I hung my outgoing envelope in my mailbox and then literally watched the truck come half way down the building, turn around and leave. Oh, and for a week they marked all my packages and letters undeliverable. Checks, parts for clients, all sent back. Were all stressed during COVID, you dont get a pass.
Keep calling this place and they just turn off their phone and it doesnt go anywhere. Then got a direct number to the facility and same thing.
Bad attitudes, no one answers the phone when you call, what a WARM welcome to a new city! Changed my address over 2 weeks ago and it still isnt active.
The woman with red hair was INCREDIBLY rude!!! She yelled at the elderly customer in line in front of me. She wouldn’t let me finish a sentence, so I had to go in and out of line a few times because she wouldn’t listen to me. I was there for a while, and she was so rude and impatient with every customer. I will be driving to Madison for my future mail needs. Just because you’re miserable, doesn’t mean you have to make the rest of us miserable. Weather you like it or not, this is your job, so you might as well do your best.
Excellent! Weve lived in Middleton for 25 years. For the last 10 years weve used a PO Box instead of our address since we travel a lot. We go into the Branch a few times a week and the service is professional and efficient. They are always knowledgeable and helpful. Lines a bit long but thats true everywhere. Sue and Marc
I was told that return address are required on ALL packages, and was refused service when I told them no. This is a straight up lie, I was being treated with discrimination for some reason, maybe based on the names of the recipients of my mailing? People have been sending mail without return addresses since the creation of paid delivery systems. I dont know what made this woman decide that I was her victim of the day, but she needs to be investigated.
We had great service for 20 years. Then moved within Middleton and it’s below awful! Mail is left in box at least every other month. We don’t even consider it a usable service any longer. Lazy is how we see this- point blank! When complained in person, she shrugged and said, good help is hard to find, I’d put my mail in the box at the post office. Really? Sad.
Not sure what is happening at the Middleton Post Office, but they seem to have ongoing problems with package delivery. They continue to drop packages after dark in my driveway behind cars or just out in the open. Another morning wet and damaged contents. What makes the matters worst, when you call to ask them to stop this practice, they never answer their phone. Oh well....a sign of the times.
Some of the post office workers will pick up the phone and hang up on you. Its sad because I respect my postal workers, their jobs are not easy. Most importantly, I consider them as front line workers. However, that doesnt mean you can treat your customers poorly. Dont forget about internal and external customer service. I call for an actual reason, not to go karen on your post workers or to give you a hard time. Please, again, think about your external and internal customer service and values. Please, dont yell at me over the phone either. Thats not professional at all. I understand and agree that we as people are not perfect and we do make minor mistakes. Your office and postal workers need to do better. Its sadly not surprising that im not the only one that gave you a 1 star.
They make no attempt to deliver my packages. They mark them as undeliverable and hold onto them. I work the same hours as their hours of operation so theres no way for me to come in and grab them. All of my neighbors get their packages left in our mail room, but mine always get send back to the post office. Why?? No notice is ever left on my door or in my mailbox. I have to find the info out from each place Ive ordered from and check the tracking information.
After a single delivery attempt, straight up lost a package, never to be seen again. When I went the next day to manually get the package, per their instruction, they couldnt find it, basically got a shrug and dunno. Multiple times have simply had larger packages thrown on the curb by mailbox, making them pretty easy targets for theft, instead of placing on porch (which they usually do.) Coming from Madison USPS the difference is night and day. I wonder if they have enough people to do the work properly.
Almost every teller at the counter is grumpy and treats customers as if they are a pain to deal with. No smiles. And if you have a question, they act annoyed that they have to answer. Its unfortunate because Middleton is such a small, quaint town. I enjoy going to the other post offices in the area much more.
The Middleton, WI postal location frequently lies about delivery attempts. Received a notice last night that they attempted to deliver a package at 7:33 pm but could not access my front door. As there is no fence or gate around my house, and I was actually standing in my front yard at 7:33 pm, I dont believe this is true. This is not the first time I have received false or inappropriate delivery notifications. And, they never answer the phone.
I have been going to the Middleton Post Office for over 20 years and I have never had any problems until last year when a new lady was hired or transferred to this location. She was trying to teach me how to write an address for Puerto Rico even though I have been writting the address the same way since 1995 and the packages always arrive with no delays or problems. When I told her that I would not change the way I wrote the address she threaten to refuse the package. Nothing like trying to impose your way or the highway. Since the address was written correctly I refused to change the address and she had to take the package which arrived with no problems. Since then I have continued to write my address the same way and NO one has expressed a concern. I havent seen her there since which is great! Everyone else that works there for the most part are pleasant.
Some blond woman there seems to make up random rules as she goes, frustrating to the long time customers of this location.
Horrible, failed deliveries happening on and off LONG before COVID-19, years in fact. Clear access to my building 24/7. Ive lived at the same location for five years, and FedEx and UPS have had no issues. I wish this branch was shut down and the weight was distributed to other branches that seem to have little to no problems. My apologies to anyone at the Middleton branch who takes their jobs seriously. Are they instructed to leave false delivery attempts? Who knows. I know that postal work is beyond back breaking, but this level of unprofessionalism has to end. Seems as if other people in Middleton are having the same problems...I will update this post with more proof when it happens, because I know it will. Shame on me for not taking more screen caps.
Awful. No masks. No distancing with customers. They dont stand behind shield. Gave bad info on passports. Awful. One post woman was terribly rude.
I very much prefer going to this postal office over any other one in Madison for all of my postal needs. The people working at the counters are always very friendly but dont waste time chit chatting, answer all of my questions thoroughly and work as quickly as possible. Even if there is a long line, I never mind waiting because the workers here are efficient and the line generally moves quickly.
Staff seems purposefully unhelpful. Couldnt have a worse attitude if they tried.
The folks at our local Post Office are outstanding people, providing top notch service and are comprised of local people from all walks of life. They are our Neighbors, Veterans, Friends and every single one of them really go out of their way to ensure you get your mail..They really do care. They are tasked with an overwhelming job consisting of doing the job with less people and less money due to budget constraints. It really ticks me off when people complain they have to wait in line but get top notch service at the counter. Try putting yourself in their shoes !!!
I dont think I could like this post office LESS. Staff seems more interested in creating hassles than solving them. I will stick with my (much loved) Park St. Post office.
Chaotic and poorly ran, a place I’d recommend avoiding at any costs. Staff is also super unfriendly and never happy to help
One star is over what they deserve. Only 2 supervisors. Both do not follow through. Terrible customer service. I had a package that was sent to my old address from years ago. Forwarding had expired. I was sent an email from the post office saying contact the post office for your package. 3 weeks, 8 phone calls and 2 emails saying the package was being redirected to my right address they sent it back to sender. They best part is we have to pay for shipping again.... Use UPS or FED EX
Arrived at post office on Saturday and at 1:57 pm, got my packages to take inside, was inside by 1:58 pm, the post office was already locked up, so I tried the self service package drop off in the outside lobby, as it stated that package pickup from there was at 3:30 pm on Saturdays. That was locked too, so could not drop off my packages! Three other customers came after me, and also left without being able to drop off packages. The website stated the actual post office is supposed to close at 2 pm Saturdays, not impressed at all!
They busted up my computer part pretty good. Its $800 and they treated it like it was nothing. I am going to be making a call tomorrow also when i get the part back into my hands i will take it down there and show them how much they care.
This branch was so wonderful today. I had my 15 month old with me, who decided that he was going to have a ROYAL FIT today when I went in to ship some Christmas gifts. I was struggling trying to juggle said fit-throwing child, the gifts I needed to ship, the box I was trying to inquire about, and the tape and scissors I brought to do the job. At one point he was just crying hysterically. A sweet and amazing lady--Im not sure if she was the manager or what--came out of the office and so sweetly offered to hold him while I finished sealing and addressing my package. She told me how she has 7 grandchildren and knows it can be tough. The tellers were also very helpful, cheerful, and informative to help me choose a box that was the right size and then helped me send it off when I got it packed up. Even the customers were sweet trying to help me in different ways. Thank you for excellent service and for patience for a first time mom trying to wrangle a screaming toddler!
We have several eight unit buildings in Middleton and we kept noticing tire tracks on the lawns of 2 buildings. Finally we saw the Mail Carrier pulling up in front of the building, on the grass and getting out to deliver mail. This was not parking a little on the lawn, her entire truck was on the lawn and very close to a residents patio. We watched her go to our other building and do the same thing!
They could use a 4th person at the counter, especially at lunch time. I got in line at the doorway to the counter room and waited 25 minutes with 3 of 4 desks staffed, and the line backed up to the buildings entrance during that time. That said, the employees were very friendly, and two of the employees was very proactive in telling people in line they dont have to wait in line if just picking up packages or dropping off prepaid packages.
Very helpful staff!
Second day the package was marked unable to deliver even though Im HOME??? I was on the phone with them this morning and again this evening, and the two women I spoke with were atrociously rude and even aggressive. Im shocked because my father is a retired postmaster and Ive never seen or experienced anything like this. Ever.
Terrible customer service and doesn’t do a good job of reading labels. Double check the work they do.
I recently moved to Middleton and today I needed to mail a package to Germany. I wasnt sure what labels I needed, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. There were other customers, but the line was never longer than one or two people, the staff was as competent and quick with the others as with me. As I was leaving the gentleman who helped me said, Thank you, dear. Keep smiling and have an awesome day! It really made the experience enjoyable.
Horable customer service, they talk through you and act like you should know just as much as them. I waited in line for 5-10 minutes just to have this lady treat me rude and talk though me. I don’t know how to do your job so if she would have smiled and nicely explained things I wouldn’t have to write this review but no she made me feel unimportant and dumb. This is not the first time this has happened either. Research how priority mail works because they don’t help!-Emily!
Not that the usps has to be good at customer service, but it’d be nice. The worker was unsympathetic to a situation that was already less than desirable. She seemed to have a general knowledge of stuff that was going on so that’s why they get a two but also it seemed like she was pulling information out of her.. anyway 2 out of 5 stars.
Always excellent service at the Middleton Post Office!!
Avoid at lunch and immediately after work hours. Lines get pretty long and they dont seem to add staff at these peak times. Otherwise, generally efficient to ship here.
**Update on this review** Went back to the post office today 2/12/2019 for our rescheduled appointment. Sarah was delightful. Friendly and helpful in every way. Got our passport applications expedited and sent in.I made an appointment to get my passport and the passports of both of my daughters renewed. My husband and I both had to be there because they are both under 16. I specifically chose this location and waited for an available appointment because they offered photo service. (and we had previously been turned away because they didnt like the photos we brought in from Walgreens) After waiting 20 minutes for someone to finally get around to us, we were told the photo service was not available and the woman rudely told me I left you a message... didnt you get it? I looked down at my phone and saw that she can called literally 10 minutes prior to our appointment!!! There was no gee, Im sorry for the inconvenience or anything... just a youll have to reschedule. So my kids missed 3 hours of school, my husband and I wasted two hours off of work... all for nothing. No wonder the US postal service is billions of dollars in debt. Absolutely NO customer service... well, except for Peter, hes pretty cool. Sheesh!
Rough attitude. No one answers the phone.
Horrible!! Terrible customer service.
Had been going to that post office for about two years when I was living in Middleton. The staff are friendly and fun, and a couple times that I had to wait in a line for a customer, I did not complain, because it was obvious that all the staff members are occupied and are working as quickly as they can. Yes, there can be long lines sometimes, especially if you arrive near closing time during holiday season, but that rather signifies high quality of customer service. I would be wary of a post office which has few people during the holiday or end of the day rush.
Love our post office, not so happy with incinerate mail carrier see my photos🤨2018 update, continues now and unexcitable! Saturday 12/1 /18 🥵 I placed rocks there and were moved. This Lazy driver needs a walking route. Still a unhappy costumer! I took a season to restore the grass and large divot from the truck. I will not put up with this, disrespect.😐
We made an appointment to have passport photos taken and submit our passport applications. But when we showed up, they said the photo printer was down. So we had to go somewhere else to get photos taken. By that point, we missed our scheduled passport appointment time and had to wait as a walk-in. They had our email and phone information, but didnt bother letting us know in advance that they could not provide the service we signed up for. Very frustrating.
Extremely slow, one of the worse Post Offices in the area. Avoid at all costs go else where. On top of being slow, (which they are all the time ) they are allowed to do paperwork for Pass Ports when this happens bring a chair you will be in line for your next birthday.
I received a shock when I opened my mailbox today, there was a green card with the word New Resident on it. It said this address was vacant. I have lived at this same address for 21 years not sure what is going on with Middleton Post Office. I havent had any problems until end of last year, after I came back from vacation and cancelled my mail hold, didnt deliver any mail for a week!!!!
Everyone is so very punctual and friendly. Excellent and amiable service. I like this post office better than any other.
This used to be a polite and helpful post office and even my most recent experience with a passport submission could have got a higher rank if the lady working there was even remotely as helpful as the man who did try to help. Disappointed
I go to this post office frequently - today I had to go in twice for work. The first time I was there today, it was fairly busy and 2 people were at the counter - Peter (my favorite Post Office person ever!) and another person. There was an elderly woman standing off to the side of the line - it looked like she only had 2 stamped letters, and wanted to just drop them off at the counter (she didnt know about the drop boxes that were located near the passport picture area). The other counterperson seemed annoyed, and shouted out to her Maam are you in line?? The woman raised up her letters and waved them at the counter indicating she would just like to drop them at the counter with the awesome Peter after he was finished with the person he was helping. I dont blame her - Peters awesome! Then the counterperson told the lady to drop them off around the corner in the drop boxes. These 2 were across the room from each other. The interaction rubbed some of us in line the wrong way - this is why I only gave 4 stars. Im not fond of shouting at customers. Hopefully wont happen again.Im sad I couldnt give 5 stars today - Peter was absolutely awesome. I had to come in a second time to drop off a package. He took the time to carefully, and clearly explain my mailing options, and answered some questions regarding future mailings. This guy schooled me on Flat Rate packaging and when to use it. I can now choose the correct packaging for my mailing and not hold up the line so others can be served quicker :) PETER YOURE MY HERO TODAY! Thanks for helping me out!!
Wow. Just... wow.
I always have quick and friendly customer service when I visit this post office.
Its a solid post office. Peter was really helpful on a project I had to complete. Helped me buy what I need and avoid mistakes by asking the right questions.
Customer service is horrible. I was given false information when signing up for a PO box. They took my money, but did not set up the box due to the false information given. The post office is a bunch of crooks.
These people do not pick up the phone when you call them. Dont know what the deal is.
I got excellent service from Peter at this Post Office. Very friendly and helpful guy.
Absolutely terrible!! We are not receiving mail and they will not answer the phone when you try to call. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!
Ive gone here many times as it is less than a block from work and every single time has been unpleasant. Weather it was the time they misplaced my package or simple transactions they always speak to me in that fake friendly super condescending voice that is just not necessary. Im sure they wont read this or care, but heres to hoping.
Nice friendly staff, just need more of them! No matter when I go the line seems always to be 20 minutes or longer.
I usually never write reviews, even if I have a bad experience somewhere as I know some people have bad days or something else is going on but I felt compelled to write a review after my experience this morning at the Middleton Post Office. I had 5 little envelopes that I bought from the post office and spent 15 minutes filling them all out and getting them all set to be sent out. When I got up to the register the woman behind the counter told me I needed to buy a $4 roll of shipping tape in order to secure my envelopes...the envelopes I had just bought from their post office. When I asked her if she could simply put a little scotch tape (which was right by her hand) on them so I wouldnt have to pay for shipping tape for a little envelope she was very rude and told me that this was the rule. I told her I had just been to the Post Office the day before off of University and they didnt charge me when their envelope wasnt securing my letter and she said it didnt matter, that was the rule. I paid for my envelopes and went to the Post Office off of University who are ALWAYS so nice and helpful and dont charge you for shipping tape when their envelopes arent closing properly. It was such a trivial thing and I probably wouldnt have cared if the lady wasnt so rude. Next time, try and be a little nicer to your customers as it goes a very long way. I will never go back to this branch and will drive the extra distance to the one off of University.
Called to ask a questions to see if an address existed and counter person could not get me off the phone fast enough. She did not understand what I was asking and just brushed be off by saying the letter would be retruned to sender.
The postman needs to stop putting the re-deliver letter in the mailbox when he/she hasn’t even tried to deliver the letter in the first place.
Ive always liked this post office. They are kind, lines arent long, and parking is pretty easy for a highly trafficked area.
I get good service here.
Completely incompetent staff. Its a shame because I live really close to this post office, but I will have to have my mail go through another carrier because the employees are just so apathetic and useless. Avoid it if you can.
This place is chronically understaffed. Most of the time the people are friendly. Usually its quite a wait for service. Its a small outdated building that needs renovation.
The time is: until 4:30pm google needs to update post.
Friendly people, but often long wait times.
ZERO sense of customer service.
Great services
