Great place. Went through a new ownership change and they are fantastic. I highly recommend this place for all repairs. Try to schedule and appointment though, they are always very busy because they are so good.

Had my car towed to Chris’s for an engine repair after it sat in another auto shop for w month because they couldn’t find a motor for my vehicle. Chris’s replaced my engine in less than a week and I saved 1500 compared to what the other auto shop was going to charge me. Also anytime I called the lady who answer was very nice, informative, & professional. I would highly recommend.Update: my car started to overheated because I was suppose to take it to Chrysler for a reboot in order for my radiator fans to work. I took my car back to Chris’s and he informed me it was writer on my invoice to take it to Chrysler for a reboot which I failed to read. He volunteered to take it to Chrysler and do it for me and pay for me and I could pay whatever they charged. He didn’t charge extra for going out his way. I have recommended them to everyone I know it’s feels amazing to have found a auto repair shop that does honest work, goes above & beyond for their customers with honest prices. I will taking my car only to them from now on.

Chris and his team did excellent work on our minivan that broke down on a recent trip. Although there was a mishap and a short circuit was missed the first time, Chris called us personally to apologize and they fixed it promptly and covered those additional expenses. It was unfortunate to need the second visit, but the way they handled it made me appreciate this shop even more. If you are in the area, or just passing through, stop by and enjoy great service.

Went in when they opened at 8am for an issue with my windshield wipers. Was told that they wouldnt be able to get to my car until later in the day (no problem). About an hour later they called and told me the issue with my car and the cost with parts and labor (lower than I was quoted by two other repair shops). Called me back about 30 minutes after that and said that my car was ready! Very courteous, friendly and upfront about pricing and wait time. Will go back to them again :)

Have taken several vehicles here thinking that these guys could diagnose/repair, with fair prices and good results. On the last repair of a new used truck they charged me $100, fixed nothing, diagnosed nothing besides oil loss. So I started with trying to monitor the oil and could not remove the oil stick more than 2” to me this was a red flag. I inspected the oil tube where it inserts into the oil pan and there was oil everywhere, bad gasket. I will not recommend or be going back.

I took my truck to them for a tune-up. It broke down after I got it back. I took it to another mechanic. He said two spark plugs were not tightened down and broke off inside the head. I called Chriss to let them know, and they were no help at all. I would not recommend them to anyone!

We took my husbands truck to be worked on and while it took a bit longer than I had anticipated but they finished it to our satisfaction.

I dont usually rate anything, but this Car Repair place is a very good place the owner Chris of Chris Car Care is a cool down to earth dude his team worked on my care at a reasonable price had me out under 3 hours and back on the road. I do not understand why they have negative reviews they are good people here that do good work. I am not a local and my home is 3 hours away in Michigan, my car broke down the day before while on the road home from Chicago. They are awesome.

Was giving my 94 year old a ride out to Michigan City when the brake line broke. I drove to a Culvers called Chriss car care and they set up with a tow truck to pick me up in 15 minutes. Once I got to the shop they gave me an estimate and replaced both brake lines for $360 which was an astronomical great price. The husband-and-wife team that own and run it are fantastic

I have had a couple of jobs done over at Chris Car Care. The bids have been accurate and the service has been prompt. I have sent friends there as well. I recommend his shop for mechanical jobs you cannot handle yourself. I also now get my oil changes done over there.

I cant thank Chris and Mrs. Chris enough! I was traveling to Michigan. My car ran over a staple in the construction zone. I had to get off in Michigan City, and Chriss Car Care came up on Google. I am so glad I found this place. They took care of my car and did NOT overcharge. They were so helpful and very quick. I was back on my way in less than an hour. They are family-run, and they really care. Thank you for fixing my car, not overcharging, and saving my weekend trip!

Cant say enough good about Chris and his team. Was on the Indiana toll road when my battery light came on, just before Mich City exit, and the car information center said the smart charge system was not functioning and then went into battery saver mode. Yes, we were heading east for vacation. Chriss Car Care came up on the Google search and we called. Luckily he was not too busy, got us in right away at 9am. Bad alternator. Chris drove my family to the outlet mall to get food and kill some time while the car was being fixed. Had us back on the road by 1pm. Our trip ended up being great. Much Thanks to Chriss Car Care.

My truck was making a weird noise and I had no idea what it could be. I took it to my usual car mechanic who told me that it would be almost $200 to even find out what the problem was! A friend of mine then told me about Chris Car Care so I took a leap of faith and went in. Come to find out, it was something with an easy fix! Great Auto repair service.

Took my 2011 Camaro in for a pressure check because coolant was leaking from somewhere behind engine. Turned out was heater core lines and they replaced them and fixed the leak. They however showed no car to the vehicle as I go to check it over and there are scratches on the front of the hood. Hopefully they can be buffed out which will cost me some more $$$. They also did not use the coolant required in the owners manual as it said to use ORANGE DEXCOOL only. They used the cheap universal green one which works for a lot of cars. I do not know if they know but you are NOT supposed to mix them as my car uses only orange DEXCOOL which now has green DEXCOOL from them putting it in. Now I need to pay further for a coolant flush from to get this green out and not cause it to gunk and clump in the future. If you want a job done you can take it here if it is not a nice car or if you have a daily driver that you do not care for. If you have a nice car or a well maintained by the manual I would suggest elsewhere.

Excellent service, reasonable prices

On the way to Chicago Ohare from Kalamazoo, my car got flat tire on the front driver side. Occured at I-94 W Michigan City, IN 46360It was caused by rust on sturt assembly which led failure on coil spring support. Bottom part of coil spring itself was scratching the surface of the tire.Even after I replaced it to spare tire, the spring was still doing the same on spare one. In shock I drove to the nearest car repair shop.The guy who worked at the front asked me to pull my car into the garage right away with no hesitation. (I feel sorry for him but I didnt catch his name) After he took a look on my car, him and technician Jesse (found his name on reciept) managed to order the part as soon as they could. I was amazed by their connections and speed of their task process.It took only around 40 minutes to get the parts and get it repaired. When I got back on the road to catch my plane I felt like my car never had issue.Im so thankful of their professional service and consideration on putting my car repairing prior to any other schedule no matter what.This trip will remain in my memory forever.

Cant say enough good things here. Was traveling for work, 4 hours from home on a Friday. My truck started acting up and they got me right in and got me fixed up really quick. Huge thank you to everyone up there. Cant recommend this place enough.

Took a car here for transmission issues. It wouldnt shift at all. They told me they work on transmission and know what they are doing (lie #1). After 4 days in the shop i was told it was a clogged tranny filter and it was flushed and filtered and new gaskets for $330. (Normal flush and filters cost about $120 which includes a filter, the fluid, and gasket.. i was charged for a flush, filter, and gasket separately. Then an additional 8 quarts of fluid, labor, and a computer scan) i was told that my car was a special case and needed to have the extra fluid. (lie #2) my car only holds 7.5 qrts of fluid why was i charged for 16? upon pick up of my car i drove approx 15 miles when my car quit shifting. I called chris and sent it back to the shop via tow truck. I did not hear from the shop for 8 days. I called them they said the filter was clogged again and it needed a new transcooler. 3 days later i hadnt heard from them so i called again. They said they fixed it and i could come pick it up for another $297. When i get to the shop i was told they do not know whats wrong with it and they have done all they can and that he will not work on it anymore!! It shifts very hard jumps gears the transmission is heating up to 233 degrees and now the transmission light on the dash is on!!!! This place is a rip off for pricing. They have young kids working for them who have little knowledge. And have a serious lack of care for their customers and customers property.. never take a car here for transmission work. 0-1 stars..

I called. They answered the phone What do you want? I was shocked. I guess he thought I was someone else. I will never take my car here again.
