The people at the counter are friendly and motivated to help you. I have been going there for years but became serious just recently when my doctor told me that if I didnt lose some weight, it would be bad. So far I have lost 11 pounds and feel great.The machines are well maintained and the locker rooms, rest rooms and showers are spotless. I was really impressed when I went there.

Its a good club. Theres always parking. The place is usually crowded. Some equipment waiting maintenance for days. Staff is cool.

This gym is what everyone has said already— dirty, nonsensical, missing or broken machines and equipment, etc. The only redeeming quality is there are several classes I like but it’s only the teachers that make the classes good.To take to a step further, the people at the front desk have absolutely no idea what they are doing. It’s virtually impossible to close your account. They make you jump through hurdles and they confuse you. Please just save your $ it’s not worth it.

Of all the LA Fitness Locations in the area, this is the only one that has not been renovated. Theres nothing wrong with older equipment if its properly maintained and operating. However thats not the case at this location. I understand money was lost due to the Pandemic. But as people begin to gradually venture out again, theyre interested in working out and possibly joining a gym. The gym should be well kept, and attractive to new members. The money will come. Unfortunately this is the location closes to where I live but its more the last resort of the locations that I choose to workout at. Time to Renovate!

My girlfriend and I travel a lot and have been to many gyms but this is worst we’ve ever experienced. This gym is extremely dirty, unsanitary, and a complete mess. Weights, bars, dumbbells ect. were all unorganized. Staff is nice but within the 3hrs of being there, never saw anyone cleaning.

Im here in from Orlando and I wish I was home at the facility there because this LA is a dump👎 Wheres mgmt? Not one dumbbell was put back in its place, plates were everywhere. One thing I cant stand is an unorganized gym.

Needs more dumbbells and someone to put weights back in the correct space. Only one time has anyone in the front desk say hello or goodbye.

Place is a mess, dumbbells are everywhere and missing . Yoga room has light dumbbells but can’t be used. Only for classes. When asked to borrow them, they say they don’t have the key... it’s a code lock.Only solution the staff has given me is to come in the morning. 6am is way to late. This gym is not usable at least for me. Unbelievably have to drive extra 45 mins one way to go to a respected gym.

Im not too sure why so many people complain about this location. I started going to this gym on Saturday May 1st, 2021. The employees are super nice and helpful. It is very clean (especially in the downstairs cardio area). The locker rooms are tidy and neat. My only complaint would be the fact that the weights are scattered upstairs. I wouldnt blame the personnel for that however; its mostly the people that go to the gym that mess things up. Even though it doesnt have a pool or basketball court like the other LA fitnesses, it is located in a literal mall. I would rate my current experience a 9/10.

I’ll add my voice to the awful ratings. The place is dirty and does not have enough weights in the free weight area. Issues have been long standing ones. Do not join this gym. Thankfully there are other options nearby.

This is my favorite LA Fitness out of all the ones Ive been to in Atlanta and Miami. Views are great and a pretty good selection of equipment. I dont know about the evening rush but around 10am-2pm their is light competition for equipment.

Rude and incompetent personnel, literally dirty everywhere, old, broken and nonfunctional equipment.

The gym owner or manager had this brilliant idea that all the gym equipment should be scattered, with no semblance of organization. They thought “ Let’s randomize the placement of all the machines so people can wander around looking like their lost. One leg extension machine in the place. And so many machines broken. On top of that, nobody puts the dumbells back where they belong. Is this a local Miami or coral cables thing? I’ve been to a lot of gyms and I can comfortably say this is at the bottom of the barrel. Whose running the show over here?

Nice gym with a friendly staff, but management does not enforce any rules, so the weights are always all over the place, which can sometimes negatively impact your gym experience.

This may have been the worst gym I have ever gone too. It was by far the most unorganized and dirty gym I’ve been too. Dumbbells everywhere. Lots of machines were broke and looked like they have been broke for a while. I feel bad that their trainers have to train clients in that place. I’d rather drive through traffic to go to another LA fitness.

This is an update from my original review. This location is closer to my house but sometimes I drive to Sunset because this club on Coral Way used to be very dirty, and has no pool, sauna, jacuzzi spa, and basketball court. Well I came in today (9/20/2016) and even though theres still a few broken machines I also noticed the new ones that were added (which is awesome). The gym seemed to be very clean now and didnt smell as bad as it used to. I will save some gas now that Im coming here again, and Ill just drive to Sunset for the pool/spa amenities whenever I need that. Changed my rating up to 3 stars now, management seems to have improved the club!

The gym should be a place where people go to release stress and not the opposite. The membership manager of this place, his name is Carlos, was very disrespectful and harassed me to the point where I felt like I had to leave the building, but I said to myself that when someone unfairly tells you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, No, you move.I will be writing an email to corporate and explain the situation in depth.This man approached me while I was working out about four times. The first time he came over picking up the weights that I was using and I told him I needed them, to which he responded in a very bad manner; well, you have to put them back after you are done because nobody puts them where they belong. I said I was not done yet, and as soon as I finished, I will put them back.About five minutes later a lady comes over to ask how much longer until I finish and I said that I had one more set to go but that she could workout with me if she wanted so. Immediately after she left, he came over again in a very bad manner again and said to me; you have to let other people use the machine too, you cannot stay in that machine for longer than 20 minutes. I said that had just arrived 10 minutes ago and that I had been waiting previously to use it. He then said again; you have to let other people use it or you will be removed. I asked him if he worked there and what was his name. He said; I am the general manager and there is nobody above me, if you don’t like it that’s how it is. I told him that he was lying and he turned around and left without letting me express what I thought he did wrong.He comes around 1 minute later and said; people do not like to hear what they have to hear. I asked him what does that mean? He said; it is what it is, and if you don’t like it you can leave.Not everyone working at this location is unprofessional, in fact, I like going to this location because of the nice people that work there. The juice bar people are great, the front desk, the personal trainers. But to have a manager harass you the way Carlos did, that is unacceptable. Carlos should not be working there.

By far the worst gym I have ever attended. Management is awful, the gym is a total mess, overall very poor quality gym even for LA Fitness. If you wish to workout with dumbbells, make sure you arrive 30 prior to your workout and have fun looking around the whole gym for the set you’re looking for (if you find them) definitely switching gyms as soon as possible.

I travel to over a dozen different LAs each year, and this one is absolutely disgusting. Not sure whether its local culture, ineffective management or both but its real bad. Broken equipment, filthy floors, and weights everywhere but where they belong. Tons of staff just standing around in skinny jeans. Cant believe this place passes any franchise requirements. Excellent Customer Service, the General Manager, Carlos Leon, is awesome, he did his best to provide us with a great membership, and motivated us to live a healthy lifestyle. He is definitely an asset to LA Fitness- Coral Gables.

This gym is a huge mess. the employees are rude and lazy. the machines break for months at a time with no fix. every possible red flag for a gym exists here.

This is probably the worst gym you could ever join. You life will be in danger literally since the emergy staris are shut down and the elevators barely work. Once in there, at your own risk, you will find a lineup of the most unfriendly staff you have ever met. Lead by their manager Carlos Leon, who will bully you out of any complaint you may have. His actual words were If you want a gym were things work, go to Equinox. I actually follow this wise man advise and I joined Equinox, its like day and night. Thank you Carlos for your great advise!

Worst LA Fitness in existence, bar none. Gross, overcrowded, AC frequently broken. Elevator slow or broken and you have to use it to enter/exit. Locker rooms look like youre in a prison - terrible lighting and mirrors. Equipment will be broken and rarely fixed. All the machines are missing pins and unusable. There are about 6 cables in the entire gym and half of them have attachments sealed on so you cant change them. As for the rest, most of the attachments are missing. Its the closest gym to me and Id still rather drive further away to go anywhere else.

COVID city! Few people following mask protocols especially on cardio. If I can, they can. BS!

I just moved to the area and I was looking forward to attending..but honestly the equipment is OLD .. Bathrooms are from the last century...and I asked if this location was going to be updated like the others and I was told NO.. spinning bikes OLD...PLACE NEEDS AN ENTIRE OVERHAUL!!! Shame.because location is excellent you would think Gables area gym would be nice but totally disappointed ☹️

WORST GYM. EVER. If I could leave no stars I would. This has to be the worst gym by far. The management is horrible, they have no communication with the members, and it’s disgusting. Not sanitary whatsoever. This gym does not give you the motivation to even continue a fitness journey. They had 2 almost 3 months to fix the air meanwhile everywhere was shutdown due to the pandemic, and they couldn’t even get that right. I urge anyone who is considering this gym to please save your time. And to the management of this LA FITNESS, please reconsider another field, because you have poorly managed this gym for years.

Staff did not greet, bathrooms do not have a pleasant smell, very dirty all over the gym. The cleaning station is only at the begining of the gym and I believe they should provide more cleaning stations around the gym. More trash cans becauee people do not know how to throw away there used paper towels. The lighting in the gym made me feel gloomy and closed in. This is my opinion. I really hope some improvements are done for a gym that has such high standards.

Literally a dumpster. Weights are never racked so you have to waste so much time looking for them all over the floor bc they don’t have anybody restocking them (spoke to them 3 months ago about it and nothing has been done) and the people that visit the gym have no manners to put them back where they should be. Wi-fi won’t even reach the free weights area. Avoid this place.

Have you seen the Rocky movie where he fights the Russian Guy? Well I imagine this gym is probably where that Russian guy trained. The lockers are cold, dirty, and depressing. The only difference here is that the bad guys speak Spanish and only work out chest. The more I thought about it, the more like Russia this gym looks like. And I dont mean in the whole, Olympic champion, I will Break You Russia. I mean the, Where are my free and fair elections, Russia. Dont ask where the free weights are unless you want to be targeted by management (See the pattern?!). Seriously though, do these people take the weights home?! At the end of the day, if you just want to barely lift weights, then this gym can provide that. If youre looking for even a remotely 21st century gym with basic freedom, this isnt the gym for you. Get Big my Friends.

Worst LA Fitness in Miami. It is my local and for over 4 years out of about 9 years i have been going to other locations just because of how bad it is. First of all the Pool has been broken for over 7 years and this is not exaggerating. Equipment selection has always been ok but be ready to wait if you go during busy hours as there isnt many. Management does a horrible job keeping this place running as it is very inefficient and im sure it could do better with a team that knew what they were doing. Being charged 36$ monthly for this hole is a total scam if anything it should be 10$ or less. Do not expect to have Sauna, Pool, Basketball court, you wont. Oh and yeah the elevators are literally falling apart be careful. In conclusion i would stay away from this place. Save yourself the money and headache and go to the other locations.

Out of of all the things I could give this gym a low star rating I would say the worse is the staff members at this location, Beginning with the “General Manager” CARLOS this man is not only incompetent at his job but extremely rude and inappropriate. He tried to act like he runs the place and he even threatened with not letting me in, I asked for management number and he purposely gane 2 wrong numbers I still managed to talk to corporate and filed a complaint against him. I just checked other reviews and lots of people complaint about it

Try any other gym but this one. There’s two managers that do not care at all about customer service or helping customers either. Jolises Gonzalez is one of the worst managers I have ever came across. Doesn’t know how to speak to customers, hangs the phone up on them as well as give them an attitude. If you’re working in customer service you should want to help your customers in any way you can and giving them a hard time is just not one way to do that. The gym it’s self is always packed and equipment is never store correctly. I cancelled my membership because of this.

My experience in the gym is wonderful. LA fitness is my safe place. I love waking up in the morning and going to the gym. It makes my day better.

Its just a pity the way its being getting deteriorated. Most equipments are out of order or work so poorly. There is nobody going around in the gym telling certain folks that they do not have to prove their masculinity, by being extremely rude with equipments and as there is not a soul in charge to “teach” those guys to be nice and decent...it smells awful, ...and yes there is a guy at the front desk should recognize that he has a job because we, the cluents go to the gym.

If they only fix the pool and add a sauna it’s in a very very good area yet I have to drive far away do use the pool. They lied to you all the time and they tell you we’re working on it we’re working on it and they’ve been saying back for the past 6 years

Parking is a nightmare, good luck not scratching your car and finding a spot. I had to try 3 different bikes before finding one that would actually work for the cycling class. Rust in most machines I saw. The instructor was good but can’t deal with all the other stuffs that are bad in this gym. Completely outdated. Hate the fact that people working out in the machines come in the middle of the cycling class to get paper towels. Ridiculous, put a dispenser outside please!

This location is H O R R I B L E !!!! The place is a mess, half the equipment is broken or borderline about to break. The staff is just straight up rude - they posted some warning for the paying customers stating that “if they found weights lying around they’d be given strikes and after a third strike the membership would be terminated”I’m not one to leave my weights lying around but some people do, forgive me but in that case the employees should do their best to keep the place functional. Since zero stars Is impossible I give this location 1.

This place stinks literally. Overcrowded all the time. Parking is terrible, the staff is not friendly or welcoming, they don’t even say hi to you, and they are always looking at their phones. The only good thing about this place is Hugo, the personal trainer, he’s te best and helped me to achieved my goals. I asked them many times to cancel my membership and personal training classes because I was moving out of the country but they wouldn’t do it and I got unauthorized payments made to my bank account.

I’ve been a member of LA Fitness for many many years, I cannot believe or comprehend that this gym is part of LA Fitness. Gym it’s very old, the machines are old and they are missing A LOT of machines you find in other LA Fitness locations. DO NOT GET a personal trainer here, they make you train in a very small room that is always FULL of other trainers and clients, since the room it’s so small you pretty much do the same exercises over and over again... BORING!! instead of taking you out and training you on the machines and the free weights outside NOPE. Can we talk about the area by the elevators? It’s DISGUSTING, the stairs are gross this gym it’s 5 minutes away from Coral Gables it should be an amazing gym instead it’s the very WORST. I wish I could give you a zero star.

Worst LA Fitness I have ever been to by far, staff is annoying and rude, AC have been broken for three weeks at the time. Broken and old equipment, shortage of dumbells, I’m almost certain people steal them, only two flat benches and lots of useless machines nobody use. The pool has never worked, they have the running track closed because it’s next to the pool. People used to use the stairs to get to the gym now everybody is forced to use that old and slow elevator. Honestly this gym should be closed it falls very very short from LA Fitness standards.

This place is awful. Most machines dont work. I went to a spinning class and that was it! Never again. The trainer Elizabeth was the least motivating trainer ever! Never asked if there was anyone new in the class. it was my first class and apparently some others too because most people were lost. She was on her own schedule and not doing was she telling the class to do. She looks like a donut too, not in shape at all and I was wondering how effective her class is when she is in such a bad shape. And the worst is that she teaches 8 classes there!! from Yoga to abs. Ridiculous!

Machines are old and rusty

It’s old. Unexpected for the area that is located on. Bad Customer service. I couldn’t put my bag in the locker room because my locker could not fit in their old lockers. I asked if they had something to help me with and they offered to buy a locker in an unapologetic way, with not intention to help at all. Everything looks so outdated.

I dont hate it. They have a great gym and friendly staff, to be honest. And the price is great. Its just so damn packed, the other gym members is what actually made me switch gyms.

This LA Fitness is the worst I have ever been to in Florida. I normally go to my local location in North Miami. The layout is horrible. There were literally no DB racked when I was looking around. People were aggressive and everyone was complaining about the set up and the lack of racking back. They also need more mat spaces for stretching. The parking here is also a disaster. The lot is taken up mostly by valet for the stores. Do not come here.

This gym is actually really dirty... All your floor and machines need attention and deep clean. Also the smell is terrible!

This has got to be the worst LA fitness I’ve ever been to. The equipment is old, place is packed, not a single person re-racks weight, and currently the AC is broken. Yes, a gym full of people working out, in September, in Miami, is hot and smells even more awful than usual. Pretty disappointed. Get it together, LA.

Horrible maintenance

The gym has all you want to get a good workout but the vibe is terrible. People there throw weights around and generally dont know what they are doing - very few legit lifters. I only work out here when I have to.

A bit old in terms of equipment but nice to go to a big gym as in the UK the gyms are so small with limited equipment but for a day pass at $16 it is a bit pricey.

Ive been to many LA Fitness locations around the country and can safely say this is BY FAR the worst one Ive ever seen absolutely anywhere. The clientelle is by far the worst part of it, rude, inconsiderate, weights are never racked. The workout atmosphere is absolutely toxic as is the cleanliness. Several machines are always out of order and the amount of people here makes it difficult to share equipment or keep up workout intensity.Honestly this location made me so demotivated Im considering terminating altogether. By reading the reviews, management or corporate clearly doesnt care and can easily compensate for any member turnover.Leaving this location makes me want to wash my hands repeatedly and get tested for an STD.You get what you pay for.

This is the dirtiest LA fitness in Miami. It desperately needs a remodel, but the patrons between 6-9 am are the nicest people.

Dont leave your stuff in your car. I am a 6am regular. My car was broken into this morning and everything was stolen. The mall cop shrugged his shoulders. Besides that, the gym is always dirty as hell, the weights area is a disaster zone, and the showers are disgusting. Done.

The gym is disgusting from the moment you walk in, the staff seems non existent, machines too close to one another, the weight area looks like a disaster. The LA fitness gyms in Miami are a poor excuse for gyms.. I normally LOVE LA fitness, but this gym in particular is really bad and unfortunately is the closest one near me. I never leave reviews, but this was necessary.

Same thing you are gonna hear from other costumers. The place is poorly equipped and outdated for the price. It is also pretty unorganized for the most part. Although their staff is pretty nice and competent, it doesnt compensate.

The locker room showers are disgusting, half the equipment is broken, they open later than other LA fitness, the AC breaks once a month and no one ever puts the dumbbells where they belong, not even the staff at the end of the day. The only reason I go is because its on my way to work and the closest LA to my house apart from this one is select or over 7 miles away

Horrible. Canceling my membership today... this place needs serious REMODELING the machines don’t work... you never find weights... the appearance of the place is nasty DIRTY. I saw the cleaning guy once cleaning the urinals then cleaning the sink top with the Same rag.... NASTY.... the place is just not well managed.

I have been to gyms all across the country and this gym is by far the WORST gym I have ever been to. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. They do not clean the gym at all. Every day there are weights scattered across the gym floors, making it impossible to find a matching pair of dumbbells. It is honestly a safety concern and hazard to have weights all over the floor. Weights block the emergency exits - so good luck getting out in the occurance of a fire. The staff do not hold themselves accountable and could care less about the state of the gym. It is pathetic. And the people who attend the gym are also slobs. Avoid this gym at all costs. 0/5 stars.

How sad is not being able to finish your workout, there is not a L.A fitness employee in the free weigh area to tell plp to restack the weighs or to do it themself, definitely not comming back to this gym, the worst of all L.A fitness between Dade and Broward.

The staff is lazy and the management is terrible. The weight room looks like it got hit by a hurricane. I’ve never been able to find the weights I need easily.I’ve been to well run LA Fitness clubs where the staff keeps the weights properly and signs are out up telling the members to replace the weights where they were originally found. This is an easily remedied situation, but the management is poor. The personal trainers wander around flirting instead of helping members.It’s disgusting.

Staff never walk the floors to assist in cleaning up or racking the weights let alone greet anyone. The locker room needs renovating and repair; many units are broken due to clipping the hinge for Lockers lost their keys; rusted and old. The shower heads need replacing.

Not disability friendly.If you have a disability and require a companion for assistance, they will not accommodate properly. Spoke with man named Dan who seemed bothered/upset to have to accommodate a person with a disability and also unfamiliar with ADA regulations.

I dont know if its something in the water in Miami BUT the LA Fitness in Tampa are well kept and organized. In Miami it looks like Hiroshima after it got nuked. I spend so much more time looking for the weights. Its a waste of time!

I def. agree that this is one of the WORST LA Fitnesses that I have ever been to. Being a Los Angeles native, I expected this gym to be at the same caliber as the ones at home. I was VERY WRONG. I go to this Gym bc i locked myself in to a year long membership which I paid for upfront. I regret it completely. I have tried going to group fitness classes and they are cancelled last minute. The last spin class I tried to go to was a joke. The instructor was 20 min late, proceeded to talk about her personal problems with students in the class and didnt have a play list or a workout planned for the class. I pretty much watched her cycle to the tune of her own voice until I got fed up and left. I will def not be renewing! The juice bar even charges for cups of ice, there is no customer service AT ALL. Given the clubs location and large membership pool I doubt corporate will put any money into it. The gym is a mess. I wish 24 hour would increase its presence in Miami to give this place competition and a reason to improve.

The staff really made it clear they didnt care nor were they helpful in any way even when the police showed up.Machines and lockers look like they are from world war 2 and the weights are everywhere because people just dont care and staff done enforce standards.YOUR BELONGINGS ARE UNSAFE HERE

They always packed.. all the time. Weights all over the gym floor.. but hey its LA fitness they all the same.

Their trainers were playing catch with a set of weights while I was passing by. I didnt look and I must of startled them because one of them lobbed it at my leg. Fracturing three bones. They told me that I cant cancel my membership til I come in although they did injure. But okay L.A Fitness your getting reported to my bank.
