My experience with New Horizon has been honestly fantastic. Victor, Nina and Peter have been amazing and always helping me out with my studies and going into interviews. In the classes with Victor and Nina, have been so much fun and they always make the lesson exciting and easy to absorb the knowledge like pieces of peanut butter. I would never forget about them. Peter has been the best guy to go for mock interviews and any questions about interviews are spot on. Helped me out tremendously in the interviews. 10/10

Prior to NH I have registered to a couple of classes online but non of them actually delivered what they promised from the begining. This wasnt the case with NH as a lot of resources were provided to us with access to different sites to study. I would say this was way more than what I expected. It was a wonderful experience with enough materials at our disposal. Though very intense and challenging because of the time frame, Jorge, our instructor did a great job by putting a lot of effort to see that we got everything that was in the syllabus covered. The student support team was also very supportive and friendly. Got into issues a couple of times and called they were always they to assist and see into it that my problem was resolved and even the two times I missed class, they reached out to me to make sure i was okay. I recommend New Horizons to everyone who wants to start a career in IT

My time here has been great overall. My instructor was Luis who went above and beyond to ensure that every student understood what he taught, each and every night. Never have I seen such care and dedication from an instructor. Kara (front desk) was ALWAYS helpful and knowledgeable with when asked a question pertaining to the program and I some of the most overall positive people I’ve ever met. Every member of this staff is energetic and a pleasure to be around. New Horizons is like anything in life, you get what you input into it. As an adult you have to strive and want to learn new skills, and if you are willing and eager then this may be a good fit. If you are expecting that you will not have to put in your individual effort on top of classroom time then you will be sorely disappointed. The certification process can be challenging, but what in life that is worth anything isn’t? We were very honored to have Dr. Luis Nogeral as our professor and he paved a way that enabled us to learn not only the theoretical but also practical hands on scenarios we would eventually face in the contemporary world. The staff is friendly, kind, and polite and if they see you truly trying to excel then they will provide their expertise even going as far as providing small group sessions on Saturdays. I came into the program without any IT experience and left with six certifications and am eager to get more. This alone lets you know that it is possible however you must be dedicated to improving who you are as a person.

When I lost my job of almost 9 years in August 2016, a friend and ex-student of New Horizon recommended me to go to the school and meet Ruben Aguilera to know more about the IT programs and materials given at the center. Since then, my whole perspective of life and work did a 180 grades change. I began in this school in September 2016 and finished the course in February 2017. At the very beginning was really hard because my work was related to databases, QA and programming. In addition languages barriers, classes the whole week until late, studying, frustrations, doubts. I remember my first day in the school when our instructor Dr. Luis Noguerol told us to work as a group. I did a close circle of classmates and friends to share those months, study guides, videos, test, ideas, and points of views. We had a great group, veterans, civilians, American, Chinese, Colombian, Cuban, but at the end, all of us eager to learn the path of an IT professional. Today, I can proudly said that I’m an A+ and Network+ Certified. None of this would have been possible if I had not lost my job, if no one recommended me the school, if I wouldn’t have had the support of my instructors Dr. Luis Noguerol and Luis Barreiros. To Noguerol thank you for always trusting us, for always giving us the extra mile and for your example of an excellent professional. Luis Barreiros thank you always for being there to clarify any doubt, for his support as an instructor, for his love, for his advice and even for his delicious coffee !!! My organisation in the Caribbean has been using this company for online training for a number of years. All training experiences have been great. The cost of technology training for employees is acceptable since we no longer have to incur travel costs. Any issues are quickly resolved by the NH team. Great Job New Horizons..

I recently participated in a Using Windows 10 class with New Horizons. The instructor, Autumn, is very knowledgeable and was also very patient getting all of the students up to speed, even though some picked up the concepts quicker than others. She also did a great job making sure the class moved at a good pace for all. The class was very hands on and participatory even though it was taught virtually. I had a great experience with New Horizons and learned more than I expected in a one day introductory class.

The purpose of an IT instructor is to prepare you for the subject matter so you can leave the course with the attitude that you can begin to tackle the technology. Brad Parker trained our IT department in Windows 10 with the kind of tempo and understanding that I have never seen in my instructors over my entire career. My team left the class with a confidence in the material and our ability to get certified that is rare, even with the excellent instructors out there in the industry.New Horizons has made a believer out of me. I am convinced that they are worth making a company resource.

Went here to take a test. Came out 30 minutes later and my vehicle had been towed from the New Horizons reserved spots. New Horizons paid the towing fee but I had to pay the Uber fare for the 15 mile ride to the tow company and miss about three hrs of work gettin my truck back. I won’t be back.

The installation is extremely comfortable and clean, the equipment is top-of-the-line, and the staff (both administrative and academic) are extremely professional and knowledgeable, always ready to help. The provide high-quality documentation and online support. Instructor-led is my favorite choice. You have access to most of the training resources well after the course is finished. they are also very flexible in case you have a problem and you need to be absent during a portion of your original scheduled classes, you can recover those at a later date. While I was at a training site with the Army National Guard, I told a soldier my story and how I was having trouble deciding what to do as a civilian. He put me onto this IT stuff so when I returned from training I let the internet know that I was looking to make a career change. By chance this guy Ruben reached out to me about going to school for free using Career Source South Florida as a resource and ultimately they ended up giving me a voucher that covered half of my tuition and the other half was matched by New Horizons. I thought it was a joke but I went anyway because I needed help. I was blown away by the commitment this company has to their students and even me as a potential student at the time. They werent letting me slip through the cracks.Fast forward to qualifying for the program which is easy and quick if youre on your stuff and follow the instructions... I ended up enrolled in an 18 week night course with mostly veterans, like me, who were looking to change their career whether it was transitioning out of the military, starting over or continuing their education. Sidenote: you can also use your GI bill for this program.The program is fast but the resources are endless. Depending on your work ethic, learning style and prior experience, this will be different for you than it was for me. I went in with zero experience and came out with a job so, thats it.Shout out to Luis B. who is an amazing teacher, story teller and all around good dude. We learned A LOT.Would recommend to a friend 👍🏼

I was Very Grateful to find New Horizons. I had enrolled in two previous schools for Computer Networking with no results. Either they were not a credited testing center, or were teaching older tech. On day one at New Horizons I was more than confident that the training I would receive would get me the career Ive always dreamed of with the salary to boot. Every week I would meet students who where overjoyed because they just completed another certification. I also made friends and associates here whom I can count on in the future. A life-changing experience! After more than 30 years in my previous career, I felt a change was in order. It is said that if you love what you do for work, then youll never work a day in your life!Computers have always been my passion and the instructors and resources available at New Horizons has helped me to begin my path to accomplish my dreams.The staff and instructors at New Horizons are caring and student-focused rather than just academically structure-focused. I have felt that interest has been expressed in me personally and in my growth and attainability of my career goals.One-on-one attention, plenty of instruction through lectures, hands-on practice, a good pace, paper and electronic reinforcement resources and a comfortable learning environment coupled with good comradery among the students make the time fly and the material and related concepts easy to absorb. My current instructor, Luis Barreiros, even provides Cuban Coffee to all the students, giving the class a nice flavor and a little pep!When they make a mistake in leading the class in hands-on exercises, the instructors are quick to admit it, explain what went wrong and how to avoid it in the future. They even accept and apply suggestions made by the students and all student comments and questions are welcome in an interactive open forum.If you want to begin your professional career in IT/Networking and grow from there or use what you learn as a platform to develop in other areas of computer technology, then New Horizons is the place for you to learn.My only regret is not having done this years ago.

Respect the process, that was the lesson that Ive learned. If you have any problem finding a career, the person you should ask to assist you is Yajaira. I didnt think anyone can care about their job as much. You know, NH is a hammer, you can hit yourself in the head with it or you can hit a nail with it. Its my choice. The school really had connection to put me in front of spirit airline. I honestly did not think I would of gotten the job because I under estimated the process but the school reputation gotten me the and three other the job. And it was immediate. I am now waiting for background check.

I found the staff at New Horizon to be very kind and helpful. there was no problem that they wouldnt solve and never said no even when they were on their way home. My instructor Dr. Noguerol was informative, knowledgeable, and always willing to take the time to explain the material. Dr. Noguerol instruction took me from someone whos scope of IT was turning on and off the computer, to someone who can easily build and maintain a network. I would encourage anyone both vet and civilian that is looking to enter into the IT field to become a student at New Horizon.

I used Google to find a number in preparation for an event and came across this site. I am glad that review/evaluations are no longer limited to the polite reviews we feel we have to give on paper.I took a total of five classes with New Horizons South Florida; my first two classes being in February 2013 and the last were two superb OLL classes taken March 2015 in which the instructor was extremely good with his delivery and ability to keep the classes interesting, memorable and engaging with the use of relevant analogies. Kudos to Lou! The one class that I took with a female instructor was poorly presented and did not flow well. She was a nice person but incapable of proper teaching methods such as inquiry-based learning which would have been best suited for that particular class. Even keeping on schedule could not be accomplished. I am of the understanding that that female instructor was terminated but still works on contract if needed. I hope that well needed training is being provided for that person.My Power Point and Excel Classes were good. The classrooms were super cold and took away from the learning experience. However, my ultimate vexation is that the instructor actually followed me home, meaning that he started to send me very personal emails within three days of being my instructor and then he moved into my space shortly after. I suddenly became an ATM for an instructor whose professional services I had paid for. The financing and madness of the situation continued even after I stopped taking classes for a year. I was basically shooed away by management when I eventually filed a complaint. Ironically, last Monday an account executive was still trying to sell me more courses but after that experience I do not wish to take classes with New Horizons anymore. Besides, I was informed that there is discontent within the staff because one instructor cheats by destroying all low scoring evaluation/feedback sheets. So, how do students know that they are getting a legitimately excellent instructor if it is true that cheating is involved? If this is the case the rating system should be changed so that instructors cannot tamper with evaluations.Apparently, there is no discipline within the staff to determine where professionalism ends and unbecoming behavior begins. Neither is there any process for disciplinary action whether an instructor is cheating on evaluations or over fraternizing with students. I would advise all potential female clients and their spouses (no matter what age) to research their instructor and ask that they be taught by professionals who have no history of compromising not only their professionalism but also the credibility of the learning centers.The rating is not for the quality of the classes because the classes are decent for those needing an alternative to traditional education. I also feel that given the right instructor, some technical skills can be gained from taking some of the classes. The first account executive was hard to reach but the current one keeps in touch and sounds genuinely interested in finding the most suitable classes for students needs. However, I have to give a low score for the nightmare of being pursued by an instructor who obviously lacks self control.

Great experience throughout my time at New Horizons. A great mixture of hands on learning, in person lectures, self teaching resources, and how could I forget the willingness of the staff to help you find a job once you are complete. Darnelle Daverman is the go to person for career search, lets just say my courses ended last Thurs, by Friday I was interviewing and on that Monday I got hired and I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE ASIDE FROM THE CLASSES. You can do anything you set your mind to, just work hard at it.

New Horizons is a phenomenal learning environment. The professors are extremely knowledgeable and approach the different topics with different strategies. Sometimes ill ask another professor to fill me in on something I am uncertain on, and it helps out tremendously to see it from a different light. Having a built-in Pearson Vue is super convenient, because i dont have to drive all the way to some other place Ive never been to. Overall, if I could give this place 7 stars I would; Ive taken a few online course hosted by FIU, but the education just simply does not compare. They also have a two week trial where you can find out if this is for you or not. So definitely give it a try and see if you got what it takes.

Professor Luis Noguerol is an excellent instructor and the classes are a lot of fun! Lots to learn!

I received classes in New Horizon and in fact was a nice and useful experience. The center is in good condition, have a friendly comfort .The teachers are great as well as the collective of workers.I certainly recommend this place!

I was disappointed in my ITIL class delivery. The instructor did not know his material. I am certain that he was learning the material along with the class because he looked stumped. I took the class months ago thinking I would be less angry if I waited to comment but I feel that my money was stolen from me. I did some research and discovered that the said trainer is just a high school graduate taking certification tests and acts more like a cheap back up for such classes while the expert trainer is occupied elsewhere. This is very unscrupulous of NH do do such things.I have discovered that instructors cram the material in the manual and can fail and fail certification tests many times before they actually pass. Even when instructors do not yet have the certification they are still allowed to teach on the subject matter. Which means that any high school graduate can go and teach the said material as long as they eventually pass even with a very low score. This is so not fair to those of us who are paying premium dollars to learn. I would feel better about the class if I was duped by a college intern with more knowledge rather than be insulted by a clueless high school graduate who could not remember his memorized lines. Please give people their moneys worth and hire capable instructors. There are many college trained individuals who can do a far better job. Teaching is not memorizing like what is obviously done there. One is better off learning for free on YouTube or covering the material on their on and take the tests which is exactly what the instructors do. Their ought o be a law that requires such instructors to have the same training as teachers do.Apparently, NH South Florida has a practice of saving money by using the least capable instructor. If we pay so much then we deserve a professional and not a person who is cramming material then looks stupid trying to remember. That guy is not even focused nor does he handle himself professionally in class. He was overly friendly to the point of being annoying. Imagine that he dared to give me his personal email address after I sent him a business email as if I wanted to be friendly with him. He admitted that he did not have much experience with ITIL. I DO NOT recommend this company and would give them zero star if that was an option.

This program was very helpful for me. I will recommend for anyone who wants it to improve and to learn about IT.

Im so happy knowing that exist a place like this, Im 2020 instructor, and this places is everything that I needed, the facilities, the technician, the people (Rachel and Kareem) are AWESOME!!I HARLY RECOMEND IT! 👍

The classes with professor Luis Noguerol were excellent, his methods of teaching based on his experience and high knowledge are exceptional. He is a good teacher and great person, we learned and enjoyed a lot in his classes. I am grateful to have been her student.

Luis Barreiros is extremely professional, knowledgeable and experience in the IT field. He connects with your in order to have pleasant class experience. He has been very helpful without hesitation when you have questions, before, during and after class. He walks the extra mile for you. What I also like about him is the he makes the class sessions interesting and not boring, VERY PLEASANT. Ive been having a really positive experience at the center, not only with Luis Barreiro, but with all the people who works there, Ruben, Michelle,Luis Noguerol and others. Very professional people.

Awesome training center. Very nice and clean facility, clean computers (no bloatware), and the instructors care a lot about the students. In particular theres an instructor called Luis Barreiros who is awesome.

New Horizons was great! But working with Yajaira was even better!! She is amazing so helpful, kind and extremely knowledgeable. She completely changed my life by taking the time to coach me in interviewing, and resumes. Even when I completed classes so long ago. She never gave up on helping me. I would have never been able to get an interview much less the job without you! Yajaira words cant thank you enough for all you did not only for me but for my family! If nothing else get through the program so Yajaira can help you she is out standing!!

This school is amazing Dr. Luis Noguerol was very knowledge able and took his time to teach us and made sure we understood every topic so that we could get our certifications and so that we can use it in the future

Think about it. Thousands of dollars? For what? Dont do it. They just take your money & give you out dated text books. Definitely regret coming here

New horizon compromise is to get you relocated to a job based in what they said to the unemployment assistance or the vets. does not true they dont find nothing for you. some TEACHERS know what they doing but if you dont have some kind of knowledge and free time you will not get the certs. if you dont have the experience you will not get the job, they look for a job like every other recruit using Google, CareerBuilder etc.And if they promise something to you, you might want to have that by written so you can take this guys to court because they owe me a course since 6 month ago and they still dont give me that course, specific Mr Jaime the recruiter not the professor he is one of the big liars. When they owe you something they will hang out on you or put you on hold so you hand yourself the phone.General if you are a vet or you got to pay for your education I highly recommend go to a serious university or find another school. This one is pretty bad.

ATTENTION ALL VETERANS!!! Please read this review in its entirety if you’re a veteran interested in enrolling in New Horizons (NH) 4-month IT course! This review is unbiased and based on my experience at NH.1) Unrealistic expectations – The bottom line up front is that unless you have a solid IT background YOU WILL NOT COMPLETE ALL 8 CERTIFICATIONS IN 4 MONTHS! It is extremely hard and I need to emphasize that right away. Our class completed the 4-month course and maybe 2-3 veterans have at least ONE certification. Many veterans in my class were misguided. Nardo Perez makes it seems like you can complete the course in 4 months but that is unrealistic without a SOLID IT BACKGROUND.2) Recruiting methods – During my first meeting with Nardo Perez, he said students find employment starting at $60K-$70K with two certifications. This is completely UNREALISTIC. Our instructor emphasized that WITHOUT IT EXPERIENCE you will find a $40K IT job with ONE or TWO certifications at best. Nardo Perez said 90% of veterans are placed back into the federal workforce yet 2-3 veterans out of around 15 obtained certificates. Does that seem like 90% of veterans are ready to work?3) G.I. Bill – My fellow veterans please know the G.I. Bill usage policy. NH will use 12 MONTHS OF YOUR GI BILL in 4 months. They can explain why this is so. I just want you all to be familiar with this policy because at least 2 veterans in my class learned this information three months into the course. Once again, they said they were misguided. It seems like NH and its staff let them down.4) TestOut – TestOut is a program that students use to prepare for exams. During the Microsoft and Cisco portions of the course, students were basically following the instructor’s commands with no material to reference to. In other words, there was no “student guide” or course outline to follow. All in all, TestOut was used 1.5 out of the 4 months in class.5) Instructor – Luis Barreiros was our instructor for 3.5 months. He is extremely knowledgeable and has many years of IT experience. However, Luis Barreiros often divulged in topics that were not relevant to the class resulting in a disruptive learning environment. For example, a 30-minute lecture on the history of IBM or importance of saving emails. As a result, a number of veterans were not actively participating in class after 2 months. The bottom line is that Luis Barreiros needs to stay on topic like Moose and Luis Rios did.6) Outcome – Most veterans felt cheated out of their money and were completely dissatisfied with this course. Notice I said most not all. Also, a number of veterans reduced the amount of time they spent in class. Based on the factors previously mentioned, you can determine why this may be so. I am writing this review as constructive criticism. I am by no means trying to deter any veterans from enrolling in NH but I AM raising awareness. The bottom line is that NH needs to maintain their expectations realistic and they did not. Therefore, I am here to CLARIFY any misinformation so that my fellow veterans can make an informed decision.

Its been a great experience!! A lot of information to process but the Testout labsim is very helpful if you have a very busy schedule. Professor Rios is great and very helpful if you feel lost. All the staff Ive encountered are very pleasant and knowledgeable. Student service Coordinators Michelle Vergara and Melissa Germin are very helpful and do care about the students welfare.

Very professional, I have noticed the additional help that the Institute offers, where I have had very bad experiences in the past year with other institutes, New Horizons its another level of learning.The whole staff is accessible and inviting, friendly and thorough, from the directors, Ruben Aguilera is extremely helpful, generous, I dont know how he has the time, Martha is incredible, will take your worries and handle them immediately, the professors are very detailed and helpful. Darnelle and Yajaira are an absolute plus, very up-to-date, informative and helpful.It has been a good experience so far, I believe I could say the same about the whole staff, not to forget, my class had a day with Moose, he was great as well, I understand he is from the Plantation location, which kind of speaks about all the locations as far as Professionalism.Keep it up New Horizons, maybe some other colleges, universities and institutes will take a few pointers.

Ive been a part of the New Horizons family for a little over year now and I have nothing but praise for the organizations responsiveness, knowledgable staff and consistent support. Keep up the great work!!!

For the vets that really like dis S*** and need a tech job go for it, but vets with a real purpose of what your trying to do in life dont fall for their lies. Everything they say is basically a lie. DONT TRUST NO ONE I MEAN NO ONE. Especially the Director Jamie Cooper or Tyrone Perkins. Four months of being in school is not enough time to get all your certs, but thats what they tell you. Yours benefits get drain and you literally feel like your in a relationship. It was only one person in new horizons history to get more than 9 certs and I met him he was not only a pretty smart guy with a lot of free time; he had prior training in the field. So he pass with flying colors. Im not saying you cant get the certs, but if you cant give all your time dont fall for it. Plus if you go look at their board tell me how me people you see with their ccna cert dam near none. That raps that school up in on summary. I suggest if you really like computer go to a real college or setup a way where you can get certain certs you want, because they just want your money. They dont care about your success. And Im not a angry guy that didnt get all his certs, but im a hard working vet that expected better/one thing and got another god bless.

After a long absence from IT I decided to come back to the current workforce and I found out that a lot had changed. I felt overwhelmed and a bit discouraged to say the least but one day my son advised me to give New Horizons a chance and let me tell you .....It was the best decision I have ever made. This program has turned my life around. Giving me hope and amazing instruction. New Horizons has been essential in reviving my career in IT.I just want to say how fortunate I am to have been given the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people. In particular Martha Jimenez Kimberly Fontaine and Ruben Aguilera (administrative) and Dr. Luis Noguerol (instructor).I also wanted to thank my son for telling me about New Horizons.

This is a great school, with Awesome Professors like Dr. Luis Noguerol who really care for their students. I have not met a teacher that is so passionate about his work rather than his pay. I can really feel the care that he has for his students compared to other teachers in other schools that fake it. This teacher will always be remembered and I will always consider my mentor in the IT field. I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND students that have a passion in IT and need their certifications to come to this school.YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED!! If you go to this school make sure you ask about Dr. Luis Noguerol to be your teacher, if you do not know anything about computers, I guarantee you will know a lot more by the time you finish the semester.
