Enjoyed a great breakfast of pancakes and eggs Benedict, all at 5.50 a piece, a nice price, for south beach. Great view of people places and things. A highly regarded destination, and worth the trip. We sat for another hour after breakfast, to watch all the beautiful people,walk by.

Had a 4 night stay at the Carlyle. Stayed through VRBO. Check in was a breeze. Parking was a bit difficult as there is no dedicated parking. We were able to drop our bags off from the alley and park after. The restaurant was good as well. They also had a dessert shop located on the 1st floor which served up delicious treats. I will definitely be staying here again.

Wonderful atmosphere. Quick and friendly staff although they were busy. Best price on strip for the quality of food. Huge drinks. All around great experience.

The Carlyle Hotel and Cafe is nice piece of movie history, where they filmed the iconic film The Birdcage starring Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Gene Hackman, Hank Azaria, Dianne Wiest, and Calista Flockhart. The façade of the building looks mostly the same, with the exception of the lighting. The architecture of the building is stylish and cool. And the South Beach feel is alive and bustling. Its easy to see why they chose this historic retro building as the filming location for the movie.Also the street its located on, Ocean Drive, is closed to cars, so taking pictures is easy and stress free. Definitely worth a stop. With easy access to the beachfront as well.

Very nice restaurant/bar at a location like Ocean Drive. The staff and the people around were kind, too. I can recommend almost anything from the menu, especially the large cocktails in 2 for 1 sale. Otherwise, the prices are slightly higher and the food portions pretty large, so we enjoyed our dinner.

Deceptive. There is a 20% service charge included. The menu says so. Thats fine, except you force this charge on me, why dont you just include it in the price of the items? Do you want to dine at a place where the fine print has a gotcha?Second, when I get the receipt where you need my signature to authorize the credit card charge, you again have a field for gratuity. Thats fine. It is possible that I want to leave more than 20%. But that receipt does not make it clear that I have already paid 20%. It looks like I havent yet. That is deceptive.

Service and drinks were great, we recommend the Piña Colada. Nothing special about the food but it was good as you can’t really go wrong with wings and quesadillas.

It was OK. Another place along the strip with a host of bait and switch items and schemes to get you inside with promises of discounts and drink specials. But a $14 dollar draft of Corona didnt seem very special to me.Regardless, I was just happy to see the location where they filmed The Birdcage.

The Carlyle Ocean Side Bar was the go to chill place at the end of each night for mamas in Miami weekend. We stayed at the quaint Leslie Hotel & was drawn to this outdoor experience!!! With the warmth of the heated lamps to the board walk location it was an obvious choice for dinner & drinks!!! Hookah is available too if it strikes your fancy. The accommodating wait staff was attentive with service & photos ops!!! I dont know if it was the wait staff or the star alignment but we were perfectly placed by a table full of young foreign men!!! Maybe it was the heat, the drinks, the people, the outfits, the conversation or the attraction but the vibe was definitely hot!!! The flirty conversation over sexy cocktails definitely put us all in a delicious mood!!! Thank you soo much & Hvala vam xoxo

Great restaurant, great food! The tuna tartare was amazing, best one on Ocean Drive so far, margaritas had just the right amount of alcohol. The prices are a little high but so are all the other good restaurants on the street. They do have a service fee included but thats common language for Miami Beach. Our waiter was very pleasant and helpful and the music is great, not too loud, just enough to entertain. Overall great food and amazing service.

Danilo our server was amazing! Very attentive and sweet. Food was delicious! Recommend the fajitas and the fish tacos. Guacamole too! There’s always happy hour specials going on. We were staying at a nearby hotel. Breakfast was over and we wanted a quick and affordable alternative. We stumbled upon the Carlyle. Our server Milter was so pleasant. The food came out fast and was good. The pancakes were the BEST ive eaten. We will be back!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week while we were in Miami. The room was very spacious and clean, and the front-desk staff were available 24/7 and extremely helpful. The manager, Lillian went above and beyond for us during our stay. We didnt eat at the restaurant, but front staff was very friendly. Would recommend for anyone looking to feel at home away from home, and stay close to the beach.

READ ALL REVIEWS AND RUN FROM THIS PLACE. Beware. I mean it, beware. I have never been scammed like I was here. Lured in by being told meals were 1/2 price off listed amount on the menu. Order 2 meals at a menu price of $25.00 each and 2 drinks. A sangria and a Cadillac margarita. Waitress brings them to our table and they were large. What we would call a small fishbowl. Waitress comments that they were the small ones. Anyhow we were told 1/2 price on the dinners....well we get our bill and its $120.00 for two $25.00 meals (before the half price) and 2 drinks. When I questioned the waitress about the cost she tells us the 2 drinks were $80.00 and comments that she cannot afford to eat there but would appreciate a nice tip because she gave 1/2 off on the meal. WHAT A SCAM.

We stopped in to the Carlyle for lunch with four people and sat inside and ordered four different entrees. The Cuban chicken was a couple of pieces of grilled chicken with no seasoning to speak of and very very dry. Not edible. It was served with beans and rice that were not bad. Salad with avocado was ok but again with dry chicken. Lobster (Maine lobster in Florida, which was not what we expected) and shrimp were both overcooked.All the food was less than mediocre.The staff and manager were very nice, but the food was terribly disappointing.

Poor food quality, great cocktail, poor service.We ordered the steak and shrimp dish and the ribs and chicken dish. Overcooked and small portions. The ribs were ok, the chicken was hard and tasteless. We had two bites out of it! We mentioned it to the waitress and she did not offer anything nor did she apologize. The Capirinia cocktail was good. Have a drink there but skip the food!

Awesome place to stay. Beach is across the street. Irish pub around the corner. Very clean and well kept. Very secure. Parking is around the corner in a garage $20 per day max charge. Park the car and Uber cause parking is very limited and hard to find.

BEWARE of the 2 for 1 $20 drinks. It is PER PERSON. However I asked about it UP FRONT and our waiter said we could split the one round. That said, and even though its pretty much a tourist trap just like all of the 2 for 1 restaurants along Ocean drive, lunching on Ocean drive was nice. I did like our waiter. And the pizza and pasta were both pretty good.

I would definitely recommend this place. I stopped to check it out for their lunch special and was not disappointed. My steak was cooked to specification and the portion sizes were huge.One complaint: I waited one hour and 10 minutes from when I ordered my food to getting my food to the table. The water I ordered took 40 minutes to get to the table and I asked three separate staff for water.The food made up for the wait though. Like I said I would recommend this place.

Prices are intentionally not listed. I take some credit in being a big enough of a pigeon to not ask how much a margarita was prior to purchasing one. Dont make our mistake. It was $65! Whatever minor buzz I had from my drink was immediately zapped upon receiving our bill...

Terrible experience. I Just cant believe what happened. We arrived on the restaurant near to closing and we were not informed. After asking for our drink and food (the waitress pressured us to ask for food), we were informed that they were closing. The food arrived and they were turning off the Lights. When we paid the bill they said the bar doesnt accept coins. I never saw something like this. And to complete: they charged a compulsory 20% service fee for this terrible service.

Unfortunately we chose this place before reading the reviews. We got cheated, we got this huge drink (mostly alcohol) which we had to pay 60 $ for (we ordered two regular drinks). In the end the waitress wanted the pin to my credit card so she probably could cheat us for more.

Waiter initially brought the wrong drinks and then brought a menu to argue about the incorrect order. Correct drinks were eventually delivered. When the check came, the drinks listed were wrong and $4 each more expensive. When questioned, the waiter argued again and told us that we were wrong. After requesting a menu to confirm the price, he finally relented and then claimed they couldnt ring in the correct items due to system issues. Even the final corrected check overcharged the items but they offered tequila shots as recompense. A nice gesture that didnt make up for a terrible service experience.

I loved it here. I loved the decor. It reminded me a bit of home in the Caribbean. Next time i want to spend my entire vacation here instead of only a couple days. I loved the feeling of being in a jomely environment while Im away.

I came for Spring break and I wanted to find a nice place to eat so I was looking around, I am very picky, and I picked this place. I got the fettuccine Alfredo and it was the best, it was fresh and cooked perfectly I loved it. I recommend it.

Literally a tourist trap. We asked for mojitos and they surprised us with bucket-sized ones that cost $25. We should have known when they didnt have prices on the menu. They also tried the old add-a-service-charge-and-ask-for-a-tip-anyway trick.

I went here to the restaurant and had a terrible experience with service. The waiters dont care how they treat you because the tip is already included. The waiter didnt care for us and talked back. Was not nice at all. She just threw everything on our table instead of placing it nicely. I never had such a horrible experience with waiters. Dont come here. They say drinks are 2 for 1 but it costs $19.00, so its like paying for both. Over priced horrible waiter!!!!! They said food will be 20% off and didnt include it when it came to the final check .. Definately double check the check cause they tricked us with pricing!!!!

Clearing the table before been told to do so...sent him back for sauce but he never returned until its time to pay the bill... Horrible service.. I am sitting at the restaurant as we speak. My sister ordered a drink. Before she confirmed her order, she asked if all the flavors cost the same. The waiter said yes. When the bill came, we realized that we were given the biggest drink on the menu. They deceive their customers. I wish I could have saw the low rating before we came here.

Very expensive prices as the majority of the locals on Ocean Drive. The food quality is fair, the service poor. The 20% discount is not true, is only the way to impose you a 20% tip for service. Good the atmosphere, but on the Ocean Drive something better can be found.

Really bad service, cold food that we had to send back, the wine tasted like a mix of water and apple juice... I will never eat here again and I hope you wont either because your night will turn into a nightmare!

We ordered $55 meal to share, but the bill was $109. The waiter name was C.Marcel. They are ripping people off. And i will write a negative review every day until they give me my money back.
