I rented a car online and reserved a certain class of vehicle. When I showed up two hours later (the time on the reservation), the type of vehicle that I reserved was unavailable. The staff handled the situation very well. Apparently, the car that entered the system which allowed me to make the reservation was in an accident, so it could not be reserved. The staff looked for another vehicle for me and within a few hours had me in what I requested. Additionally, they were kind, thoughtful and caring the entire time through our interactions. They showed they truly cared which means a lot! A huge thanks to them for their effort and positive attitude.

Whatever you do do not rent a car from these thieves. My wife and I rented a Mitsubishi for a day. We had the car for an hour and a half. We shut it off and went to our room to pick up cash and clothes. 20 minutes later we started it up and it sounded like the muffler was broken. Really loud. We took it back and got another car. While driving they called my wife and said we stole something under the engine. They were rude and sarcastic running my day on vacation. They want to charge us 500 dollars for an engine part that fell off of there car! You would think they would be honest! Avoid at all cost! Go to hertz! There is an active fraud investigation against this company! They are charging customers insurance for there defective car engines! Reported this terrible company to my American Legion and Government Union who does business with them. I hope to save some one else from the terrible experience this unethical disrespectful company did to my family on our Miami vacation! They are still investigating this fraudulent company. Been hearing of all the others they have done this to. I want to thank my insurance company for not requiring me to pay a deductible! They see this corrupt company for what it is! Fraudulent criminals who dont know how to treat the customers they are supposed to serve! Beware!!!!

Deanna, the Manager at the Miami Beach, Florida, Fountainbleau Collins Avenue Alamo/Enterprise Car Rental Dealership was a personable, knowledgeable, courteous, and extremely efficient representative of your Rental office. She personally went to check out our intended rental vehicle, but came back to reject it due to still lingering cigarette smoke smell in the car interior. She quickly found another, well maintained and pleasant odor vehicle which we took for our reserved rental. Deanna is a positive asset to your Car Rental Company. David (agent), was very helpful with me, he was kind and considerate. The problem is not the staff, its that the site is short of employees to handle the customers. I would recommend the management of the rental car agency to have at least 5 customer service agents during peak hours to handle the bottle neck of customers. Upper and middle management needs to support the front line agents with more assets.

NEVER GO HERE, NO STARS ARE DESERVED!! If I could rate them negative stars I would. When I booked a car for my trip in Miami and showed up for my reservation they told me there were no more available cars ! They took my name down on a list and told me they would call when they received more because supposedly they receive two to three cars every hour ..... I never received a call and when I showed up to ask how far down on the list my name was they were closed. I caught the employee walking out and he explained that they didn’t have the car and to come back tomorrow. Miami may be a busy place but if a car company can’t keep up with amount of reservations they make then don’t allow me to book it or simply send an email letting me know. I had to waste money on a Uber for them to tell me I would not be getting a car that I had already reserved!!!! NEVER GO HERE. The staff didn’t even direct me to another location that could help or give me options they simply told me they don’t have cars to come back another day! Extremely unprofessional and highly disgusted. Worst part is I wasn’t the only one in that list people from A MONTH AGO reserved a car and didn’t receive one . So just stay away

Horrible customer service. Ridiculously high holds on your credit card as well. Uber to the airport and rent a car from there, easy and you can use a debit card. “Manager” was anything but helpful.

A poor experience at the end of any situation will be what you remember most. My situation started fairly routine and as expected. I arrived early and was quickly checked in. I had to wait for my specialty car to be cleaned and gassed up. A little inconvenient but no complaints.Upon returning the car I wanted to switch credit cards. The guy at the counter was already frustrated from other stresses and it was apparent by his attitude. I asked to change the card and he became quickly flustered as the terminal he kept swiping and tapping my card gave a chip error. He handed my card back and said he couldnt do it. I said I just used the card 10 minutes ago and it worked fine and asked of that was the only terminal, could he try another one. He looked at me and said Well I used it 10 minutes ago and it didnt work! And proceeded to challenge my request. I immediately took offense and decided it was best to concede and not change the card. I walked away feeling that the treatment I received was unfriendly, unhelpful and unwilling and he failed to provide any customer service or experience.I take offense these days to being treated poorly in any relationship whether personal or business. I also want to make sure that those at this location who did provide great service are thanked... So thank you! All it takes is one bad experience at the end to lose a customer ... I will certainly think twice before renting here again.

If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. When you book the car they ask you the time you will pick it up in order to have it available one will think but NOT!!! Got there on time and a lady with a terrible attitude just said they work based on a first come first served basis and if theres no cars available you are offered the ones they have either by paying the difference or just accepting the downgrade. She tried to charge an extra $300 from an intermedite to a regular SUV. Definitely will not be using Alamo anytime soon

This location seriously needs customer training. It is overstaffed, yet they would not work to help out the waiting, present, on-time, patient, and prepared with reservation customers. As I am writing this, I also waited an hour and a half in line to pick up a pre-booked car (reserved 1 Week in advance). There were other costumers waiting after me and received worst treatment on what falls under Alamo n/k/a Enterprise Car Rentals responsibilities to their customers. If no cars were available until the end of the day, the reservation drops at the end of day and the next day, they would only honor the ones reserved for that next day, no matter how the pre-served reservations were waiting 1 day ahead. As I can tell from many other reviews here, this has been a problem for a while and the company doesnt seem to want change that as the current management is thinking short-term not long-term preservation of their business reputation or their handed customers. The rating wont allow me to post without a one star rating. Not even One star rating deserved as I spent on Uber roundtrip to waste my valuable time. Enterprise/Alamo is to overcharge and change the terms of the pre-existing reservations and hold unto what short-term they could to charge more to those at their mercy. Shame on you company. Enterprise in general already is having issues with their accounts being breached with fraud toll charges and overpriced 1 day car rental from fraud that have been charged to my cc and I had to cancel my cc 2 times and even with the new card, Enterprise is still sending through fraud toll charges to my new activated account and explaining to me when I called that I as a courtesy, Enterprise would reversed some of the charges. Enterprise they were never mine to start with. Shame on you!

Not the clerks fault, but his place is seriously understaffed. As I am writing this, I have already been waiting an hour in line to pick up a pre- booked car. There are 32 other costumers waiting. Only two employees, while two computer terminals are not in use. As I can tell from many other reviews here, this has been problem for a while and the company doesnt seem to want change that. Horrible service! I reserved a vehicle online, get to their location to find over 20 people waiting for a vehicle as well. They reserved it online and they told us all that they overbooked and were giving us a refund or canceling our reservations and were closing in 10 mins. Never again will I consider them!

Awful! We rented a car from this location to be dropped off in Key West on the same day. We rented the car for noon and arrived only to find that there was a 2 hour wait for the cars with about 6 other people in line who had also rented a car for the day. So much for a reservation! We had a welcome party for a wedding to get to that day so this 2 hour delay put us in jeopardy of missing half of the party. Upon finally receiving the car, we drove to key west and arrived at the drop off location only to find out that it had already closed for the day due to the late departure (something the other location did not mention to us). So now we had to find a place to park the car for the night and pay for parking. We called Alamo and they told us they would pay for the overnight parking. When we dropped off the car the next day they also assured us that they would take care of the parking. Of course, we never got the credit to our account. After calling multiple times and speaking with their offshore team they said that the location denied the request for the refund and refused to patch us through to the location itself. Spent way too much time trying to get this credit back. So on our vacation we sat in a car rental location for 2 hours, missed our drop off and subsequently the wedding welcome party because of this, had to pay for overnight parking and then had to spend time the following day picking up the car and driving it to the drop off location. And wasted about 6 hours on the phone the following few weeks trying to get the credit they promised us. Would NOT recommend!

@other customers:Beware dont take the gas from them, its at least a 1$ way cheaper outsideI rented a car 2 weeks back. The car was descent and everything was fine. Just that the front desk guy told me the gas charge was $3.59 in the gas station across Florida and convinced me to take a full tank from Alamo. But as soon as I came out, I found the gas charges between $2.5-2.6. I felt cheated due to this and even pointed this to them once I returned the car. They didnt seem to care and engaged in convincing other customers the same

Run and go somewhere else .....we made a booking in OCTOBER 28 for a car to pick up the 23rd December at 9am....means 2 months before.arriving at 9:10 we where surprised to see so many people queuing on the Alamo office and on the street.... They had only a few car and we had to wait.... from 3 to 4 hours !!! No coffee, no sorry no explanation....except : Due to holidays .... we expect more delay..... it is true that their is nothing more difficult to predict than Christmas holidays.....We left this office 3h latter with our 2 kids, at noon, with an empty fuel car (25miles autonomy) and a smaller one than the one booked without any apologies, or discount proposal.2 days latter I received a mail from Liliana from Alamo, s customer service in order to check that “everything has been great with my Alamo experience”.🤪I write that nothing went well and explained my story to her..... and still do not have any answer from her.....they probably answer only when all is ok....Next thing I know, I have canceled the next reservation I had, went to Avis and get a bigger car for cheaper, in 15 minutes.......😍Never again with Alamo 😡

We wanted to rent convertible while in Miami for two day to go to Key Westreserved the car 24 hours before. Came on time, waited for 1h :30 in office .After 20 mins of waiting they told us they have a car and they are cleaning it, after 50 min of waiting we were told car is ready but we need to fuel it up after an hour and 30 minutes of wait I asked where is the car . Sr. thank you for the wait your car is ready please come out. We come out and no car except sad face from Manager -Sorry Sr . your car has nail in tire and we have replacement for you dodge caravan-last time I checked dodge caravan did not come in convertible :) .I asked to show me the car, of course they did not, car was not there ....Things happen but do not leave people waiting if you do not have a car or if you think you will, just be hones and say how it is .. Terrible -service and handle on situation.

Awful customer service!!!Reserved in the morning for 11 am pick up, went there at 12:30, they told me to wait for at least an hour to get a car ready. We didnt have time to wait, so I asked if they can do something or give us other options, unbelievably rude, the guy who was the store manager, told me to get an Uber!!!I asked for their customers service number to complain, customer service told me that they have to either prepare a car as quickly as possible or find the closest branch who has a car and get us there at no charge. When I told the manager what their customer service told me, he told me I am not going to give you any car and get out of my store!!!

Terrible experience: waited 4 hours for a reserved Ford Expedition class full size SUV. After 4 hours, there was a minivan available and according to the staff it was ok as it also had 3 rows of seats...After explaining that they could also give me any other car since they all have 4 wheels, I was offered a cabrio, which was better than the minivan.Although it was promised by the staff, after almost 2 months, I havent been contacted regarding the price difference between my reservation and the car offered, and that the delay effectively killed my day wasting my 75 $ hotel reservation.Likely a management problem, the staff seemed under stress, however I was more stressed.

I always like to rent a car with Alamo when in the US, but this time its been the worst experience I ever had with them. I made a reservation (intermediate) a few weeks in advance for Dec 28 at 9 am and been there on time. Until I got the car it was 11:30 am. I had to wait 2.5 hours. Other customers experienced the same. And obviously Alamo knew this was gonna happen as they had printed leaflets saying it would take 2-3 hours to get a car. It looked like they had to bring in the cars from somewhere else for every single customer. Why do they accept reservations if they are not able to provide the cars on time? Besides that the car that I finally got had been cleaned carelessly with lots of stains on seats and armrest and some sticky something on the inside of one door. Didnt complain because I just wanted to leave. Will definitely never use this station again.

The car we rented was near our hotel stay in Miami Beach so getting to the office for checking out and returning the car was very easy and convenient.The rating was reduced to three stars because the car had a very strong cigarette smell. Disappointed that the cigarette smell was the first thing we noticed each time we got into the car!

Kept me waiting 60 minuets with three kids in the garage for the car I’ve already paid for (and checked-in online the day before to speed up the process). Otherwise nice SUV and good price. But don’t expect any service. As the lady told me “she got only two hands... Sixt and National car rental just next door.********Corrected by customer support. I will be happy to use their services next time.

We had a reservation with alamo for end of december, booked online.On 28 morning I have called Alamo to confirm the pick up at 15.00Once I went to the office, I was shocked to know that there were no cars available. After some discussion, they offered me a very very very big pick up, which gave me several troubles for parking in my Miami beach hotel (James hotel). A lot of people were in the same conditions, with someone waiting for hours to get a car.Once in the hotel, I phoned Alamo customer care to check if I can switch the vehicle somewhere according to my trip plans, and they told me that in key West airport they had a standard car available for me on 29 afternoon after 3 pmI came at key west airport at 3.30pm and they directed me on 2516 N Roosevelt Blvd. I was shocked to learn that no vehicle was available for me in that location either, even if the person to which I spoke at the telephone the day before made another reservation and nothing about this problem was told by the person at the airport office.The attendant told us to come on the next morning, 30 December, to check for a new vehicle.So, I ended coming back to Roosevelt Blvd on 30 morning, to finally get an intermediate car.Note that I had payed for a standard car, and I was given an intermediate.But the real trouble came the day after, when we realized, once returned to key largo, that neither the drivers door nor the trunk can be closed with the remote.While I can close the drivers door with the standard key, the trunk is always remaining open, and you can certainly understand which kind of troubles can give to tourists with luggages to store in it during travelsI made a last try by returning to Miami Beach Collins avenue office on 2 January early morning, but no standard car (with working door closures...) were available either. After I asked at least for a discount, given the troubles encountered, the office manager rewrote the contract with a lower price, which at least permitted me to save some money.You can imagine the amount of time we wasted and the hassle we had in having a car we can not close.i will definitely not choose alamo again nor suggest it to anyone.

Very easy to do business with. Nonetheless, the Nissan Sentra rented has steering issues. The electronic power steering does not keep centered position. This translates to instability and risk at highway speeds.

We had a great car rental experience here. Price was much lower than anywhere else in the area, including Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports. We were still able to drop the car off at the airport. We got the car we wanted, and it only took 5-10 minutes to get it. The staff member did not try to sell us any additional services that we did not need. Highly recommend renting from here if you dont need a car at the airport.

Excellent experience. I reserved the car only one day before and the next day I have the car ready to go. Not just that, but due to a change of schedule, I had to return the car early and I was charged just the days I used, instead of the full week. The attention is superb, waiting time was reasonable (30 minutes), location is excellent, manager and personnel are courteous and considerate, rate was very good. In summary, ten starts for this rental car.

It was busy but the front desk did the maximum they could. It was a little confusing to know which line up to do (its national and Alamo I did a reservation for national) but it might be me who didnt get it. I want to give a big props for Mr Joel Fernandez (the guy at the garage who bring the car) hes was very good and attentive. Great experience in general I rented twice there.

Showed up at 11am for a 10:30am reservation (thought I’d ensure they had car ready). Sign in agency says it can be up to a 2 hour wait and they apologize because they are very busy. I thought this was for people without reservations but it learned eventually it applied to everyone. It took me 1 hr 20 minutes to get a standard car. Very poorly run operation.

Booked through website in the state but they insist the booking was from China, need a Chinese driver’s license and if we want to use Usa license charge 500 dollar for car rental. (If we rebook it through Expedia only cost 350). Well I guess Chinese people do have a preference. Next time try to book as a Chinese.

After signing contract we had to wait an hour or so to get our car. The staff at the desk when asked about where are car was only responded with you must wait to talk to the manager who was no where to be found. After have a car deserved for 24 hours the manager told us he would start the clock after we left. This was not the case. The clock started when we signed our contract causing 2 hours of overage charges.

Our reservation was at 9:00, get in there 9:45, at least 1 hour waiting for our car. If I am on vacations I want to enjoy most of the time rather than wait in queu. After half an our wait, They offered us a pick up, but we wanted a sedane to leave our bags locked, so we say no. Therefore we are still waiting...more than one hour. If they overbooked it’s not our fault, they should solve it without affecting the client. Last time I reserve in this Alamo.

Be careful of the hidden fees. Booked a car advertised online for $150 had to pay over $310. They force to you pay the extras and as I had no other choice I had to take it. Seems to be the thing in US, price you see is not what you pay. Dont take the fuel option, as they fluctuate the price as they want and its cheaper if you fill it up yourself. Be cautious of the low prices you see advertised, they are too good to be true!

Worst experience ever! Don‘t rent here!We booked our car 6 weeks in advance and when we came here we were greeted by a crowd of 50 waiting people and a sign that told us that we have to wait 2-4 hours!! Also, the employees seemed rather unimpressed and worked very slowly. I can‘t imagine a worse way to spend half a day on vacation than waiting in a small room with bad air... Btw. there is a Sixt station next door which seemed empty - so better go there!

I returned the car with a full tank and they charged me for refund ! Be really careful when they gives you the receipt, I dont paid attention because I didnt know they could bill me without taking my debit card. I dont recommend !

Improper invoicing, extra charges after I leave town, and unorganized. Had to deal with all of this for over a week. Will it get corrected? Probably not. Go to Sixt next door. Nicer people, nicer cars, better service.

This is the worst rental car experience ever. Do Not Rent hear. Take the extra time to go to the airport it will save you time. We reserved a mustang covertible and arrive to pick up. the car was not ready and they needed to source it from and other location. There was 8 other renters at the same time and all have to wait in excess of 45min for there resrved cars. I am not pleased with them and made my displeasure known and was offered Zero compensation for my extra inconvenious. When i ask what vehicule they have available now, all they offered was a mini van. That does not look like a Mustang to me... Dont rent your car here.

1 Star is way too much. Bad service, we have to talk at the phone in English to someone, although our English is really bad (werefrom Germany). The guy at the desk is just smiling at us instead of helping us. They are making jokes about their customers and one of them played a game with his phone while we were waiting for help. Our car didnt work and it took about 2 hours to solve an easy problem.

Rent from this location often (more than monthly) and find the staff helpful. The problem is - staff turnover I understand the manager, Emily Nolan will be leaving. Shes the 3rd manager in a year or so!Makes it hard to cultivate a relationship which to me is very important!Also, I returned a car last Friday March 2nd. I still havent received my Mirage credit from American Airlines.this was my 2nd rental this year from that location. the 1st was for 3 weeks in January and I have a 2 week reservation starting March 25th

Awful customer service. Called this store to ask information about picking up the car in their location instead of the airport and for a ride dumb person on the phone. Rude is even a nice way to call him. I have to travel a lot and use car rentals often and because of this rude idiot on the phone I wont be choosing Alamo ever again for car rental! Way to go Alamo keep employing people with no customer service skills and see where you will end!

Oh my god we waited for over an hour!!!! There were only 5 people in line in front of us and 2 registers open but it seriously took 45 minutes to finally talk to a rep because they just chatted and talked unnecessarily to people for SO long. Seriously no sense of urgency in the employees. Horrible customer service. Not worth it I wish I had gone somewhere else. Thanks for all of the thoughts of suicide, Alamo.

I requested a car the day of that wasnt available, and the front desk people made the check-in process super easy, even giving me a $25 + free gas discount for having to wait for a car. They were so friendly and understanding--definitely going back!!!
