Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Staff seems courteous and knowledgeable. Small office, gets busy and is often understaffed. They have a convenient dropoff bin for prepaid packages. Free 15 minute parking right in front.

I was not there, but this office is in charge to bringing my mail and my packages .I ordered shoes from Macy’s. How it’s possible that USPS will open my package, damage the box to see what is in there.The audacity to try to open my package and destroy the box the way did and deliver it in such a manner . Disgrace to the USPS !!! What if this would have been a gift for someone ?……

I shipped a depop sale through this post office and its lost. I cant tell my customer if its not lost Itll get there eventually, which is what the lady at the counter told me. Theres apparently no way she can help me and no way to file a claim on my package insurance. I had to refund my customer and instead of recouping $20 on a piece of clothing I dont wear, trying to sell it cost me $50. Not to be dramatic but if this place was a business theyd have to refund me for their mistake. But theyre the post office, so they dont. Im already writing an angry Google review which is obnoxious enough, but this post office might just turn me into a Republican. Please do not send any mail from here. This is not a fate Id wish on anyone.

Staff is very rude, does not want to scan pre-paid packages and says she won’t scan them or give a receipt. (Mind you, this is just them being lazy and not wanting to do extra work)Ever since, have been going to another post office because I don’t want my packages just dropped off without a receipt - who knows if they will actually scan it or if it will get lost.

Only have one star because I had to in order to give an review, sooo Ive read the other reviews and definitely agree with them. It seems like no one knows anything at this place if its not one two and out then they dont know how to do it and that also goes for the so called Post Master.

I just moved to the area and all three times visiting this location have been horrible. The staff knows nothing and will get very rude of you call them out on their mistakes. I paid for a mailbox key a month ago and still haven’t received it, I was told to pay $460 to renew my passport which is impossible when the gov’t charges $200 at most. If this wasn’t the only place that catered to my area they would’ve never received my business again

Staff and supervisor really do not care how the customers are treated, at all, blatantly rude, incompetent, bad attitude, and operate in slow motion.

It would be great if anyone actually worked at this place. Opens at 8, front windows closed until 830 ignoring a line of customers.

Incompetent losers! I had my mail held for 2 weeks while I went on vacation. 2 days into my vacation I get an alert on my doorbell camera, and its a mailgirl delivering mail into my mailbox, I called the post office and asked them why mail was still being delivered when I had a hold mail request in. I was told Its not our responsibly to hold mail Mail continued to be delivered for 5 days after, by the incompetent mailgil who stuffed and jammed mail into my mailbox like she didnt care one but about her job. I saw her leave 3 packages in front of my door. I tried to talk to her through my doorbell camera, but she had headphones in. I called everyday until they agreed to hold my mail, 4 days before I was coming home. I had one package stolen from my stairs and police were notified. I also contacted the postal inspector.

Went multiple times to here, always good experience. Recently i sent an express mail and it was close call for last pickup, they picked up and delivered it in Fastest time possible to Kansas City. I always used Fedex for speed delivery in past 10+ yrs. The lady who was in counter mentioned, it will be on time and it did, confident on their service. . I will use USPS going forward, Great price and service. Way to go..

Lost certified legal documents.

The people working here are friendly, they are pretty fast, and they have great hours. I had to put a hold on my mail and also had to forward my mail to a new address, both were smooth and easy processes

These people scanned important mails with tracking numbers and said its delivered when in reality the mails delivered a couple days after. This drive people insane! Even worse, they lost very very important mails as well and do nothing about it. Whoever in-charge this usps, please fix your horrible system.

The staff has always been polite and helpful. Granted, service is a bit slow due to staffing but not a big issue. Would rather use this post office than others in the area.

I picked this post office because I liked that I could access my PO Box as early as 5am. About 30% of the time I try to go between 5am and 5:30am they are not open, all though it is supposed to be. Thats a huge waste of a persons time.

Every time I go, they are so helpful. I had a international package returnera and with a crying 6 month old they mad it so smooth to resens it.

I have lived in Metuchen for many years, and I use this post office regularly. Yes, they are understaffed; yes, there are long lines; but this is the fault of the U.S. Congress, which refuses to allocate sufficient funds to the USPS. If you want better service, complain to your federal representatives.I find that the people who work here are friendly and helpful, even on the phone. I am grateful for the fact that there is no muzak and no tv. The old building is one of Metuchens (woefully few) historic sites. Look around and appreciate it the next time you stop in.

Had a decent experience but they could do with more staffs

The older employees are pretty polite and helpful, but the black young lady working at the front window is as rude as they come. I usually send sensitive mail by letters, which I pay extra to send as non-machinable, so as not to have it go through the machines that process the regular mail letters. After not understand what I wanted, I handed her the letter, which usually the clerks just put the stamp on and put in a seperate bin, so as not to mix it with the regular letters. Well, this young lady throws the letter and the stamp back to me and proceeds to tell me I should just put the letter in the regular mail slot. I again told her that the letter is to be seperated, and that she is very rude. She responded by saying, yeah whatever. She was rude, childish, arrogant, and poorly trained in PO matters and customer service. Its a shame that this young lady gets to have a job which so many would kill for, and takes it for granted. I read another review regarding how the congress needs to allocate more money for the PO. Obviously a misinformed person because the government has thrown hundreds of millions of dollars to bail out this losing government endevour...The price of stamps constantly goes up because the PO is a money loser and now it seems that they are failing to screen employees, or maybe they just dont care.. BTW, I now go to the other PO in Metuchen. I dont feel safe in handing my mail over to that young rude lady..I spoke to the other workers at the Central Ave PO, and they knew exactly who I was talking about. She had worked with them and they were all glad that they transfered her to the other branch....I had a run in with the PO clerk from hell and survived!!!)))))

The man staff was very rude. Worst experience ever and I will never use the service there again.
