I am very particular about my vehicle maintenance. We started using Tims in 2018 and have been very pleased with the quality of work. They are very thorough in diagnosing issues and always provide a snapshot of the total vehicle condition which helps us plan and budget for upcoming maintenance and repairs. Tims uses only factory specified parts. This may cost a little more up front, but over 40 years of car ownership has taught me that quality provides value - and saves money in the long run.

Tims does something Ive never seen at any other auto shop. They do a very thorough inspection of the car (thats not unusual). The unique part is the report they generate includes pictures so you can see exactly what they are talking about in the report.They use a color rating system;Green: all goodYellow: needs attention, but not urgentRed: needs attention now/soonThis is so helpful in addressing what needs to be done now and planning for the future repairs.In summary, Tims is a reliable, honest auto shop!

These guys are awesome !I drive 200-300 miles a day for uber/lyft and have used Tims for oil changes and full inspections every 5,000 miles. They are attentive to my concerns, follow through, call me with questions, extremely knowledgeable, and let me know when the car is ready. How many times have you had to call your mechanic for an update on your cars progress ? I recommend them daily as I drive riders to and from their dealership service. I generally don’t like bringing my Jeep in for service because it’s a hassle to schedule an appointment within a reasonable time frame and they only service whatever is wrong with the vehicle. The guys at Tim’s do things differently. I was able to get my Jeep in after the weekend, and they did probably them most complete inspection since it rolled off the factory line in addition to the service I came in for. My friend who recommended them said I’d become a customer for life. Based on this first experience alone, I’d say he was right.

These are really GREAT people to have take care of whats needed for your car. They are all very polite and helpful and are able to repair what needs to be done at a very reasonable price. These guys are pros! The reports they make available to you include pics with arrows that point out problem areas. They label them red, yellow, and green so you can prioritize what’s actually needed and how soon. 100% recommend.

Wow! My wife and I went on a road trip to New Orleans, we started to hear a weird grinding noise. We decided to pull into Tim’s and be safe rather than sorry. They did a complete inspection of our truck and found there was a rock stuck between the brake pad and rotor! They removed the rock and sent us on our way. These guys are totally honest, super friendly, and certainly trustworthy. I wish they were in my town!

I understand your desire to not give estimates over the phone. I do not understand your inability to be transparent with pricing of services. Other auto services state, this is not a guarantee. we need to see the car but this is what we typically charge for these services. your inability to be transparent is just strange. But I could have even understood that had you not been so rude and condescending in your response. Also, if you want to overcome the objection of phone estimates, there are much more efficient and friendly ways to do so. Maybe stick to working on cars and allow others more suited to handle the customer service aspect.Just spoke with Tim. I took my car into a dealership and was given a list of repairs it needed. I always do my due diligence when researching service departments so after much consideration, I picked 5 top rated businesses near me. I called all 5 of them to ask them for estimates and availability (I assumed most of them would be quite busy and I am on a 3 week time limit). 4 businesses were kind and helpful, took down my information and gave me a call back with detailed pricing. Standard practice in this industry and these businesses are top rated businesses. It was such a pleasant experience. But not with Tims. I spoke directly with Tim and he was condescending to say the least. Our phone call lasted exactly one minute and in that time, he told me that he does not give pricing over the phone. I tried to explain that I had been to a dealership and that dealerships are notoriously more expensive. This really seemed to make him quite angry for some reason and he responded that if price is a concern for me then he wouldnt be the best choice. I said this exact same line to the other 4 businesses and their responses were all, yeah dealerships have to charge more in paid labor. We understand type of comments. Anyone who cant be transparent with their pricing wont be getting business from me. And Tim should let somebody else answer the phones around there.

Tims uses a program to identify the health of every part of your car with notes and photos. They send this to you to review before calling to discuss what repairs/maintenance are needed. This gives you time to understand the issues better than just a phone call. It also allows you to understand what needs immediate attention and prepare for future maintenance issues. We dealt with Nick who was so professional but also very nice and outgoing. They offer perks for recommending new customers and have a finance company they work with for large repairs. This was our first experience with them, but well be customers for life.

I dont enjoy taking my car to get repairs but when we do, we use Tims. They will inspect your car each visit and advise on other repairs that are needed but do not force them on you. When they are done you defiantly do not feel like they took you for a ride. Great value

After I moved in from out of town and had a horrible experience with the local Mazda dealerships service department, I was really nervous about taking my car anywhere. A friend recommended Tims, and years later I am still so glad he did. I have had nothing but great experiences with Tims and great interactions with everyone there. I love the inspection report they send that lays out in detail everything they inspected and what kind of attention each thing needs. They understand that I do not have unlimited funds and are always very easy to work with to get the most important things done as soon as possible. Sure, they will suggest that you repair things before they actually completely break. But I appreciate knowing what Im going to have to deal with down the line, and Im always confident that Im not going to end up on the side of the road somewhere. My 5 year old car is nearly like new still even though I have over 100k miles, thanks to Tims. I sent my 21 y/o son there when he bought a used car, and he has become a repeat customer. I just bought my 17 y/o son a used car and, of course, brought it to Tims for inspection and a little work. It says a great deal that I trust them with my boys cars. Theyre just really lovely folks, and Im happy to give them my business.

I needed a flat tire repaired, and Tim’s was willing to schedule me in last minute. They were unable to repair my tire because it was a reverse mount and they did not have the machinery, but they were very polite about telling me and explained they didn’t want to damage my rims. They even offered to check my tire pressures for free. I did not receive any services from them, but I was struck by how polite and accommodating the staff were and how sincere they were when they knew they couldn’t help me. I will definitely come back for their other services!

I brought my car in for the first time recently. This is during the pandemic and they took very good precautions. Regarding their service on my car, they noted many problems--it is an old vehicle. They fixed what they needed to and then recommended that I not have other work done, because it would not be worth it to me. They suggested I begin looking around for a newer car. For a minimum amount of money, they bought my car a few extra months. I was grateful that they were honest and did not try to get me to pump money unnecessarily into this car. Took my 2006 Honda CR-V to Tims for the first time yesterday. They were very friendly and polite. They communicated very clearly and let me know exactly when me car would be serviced. They were also very honest with me when they advised me to not put any more money into my car because it was not longer a good investment (it is totally time to get a new car). Nick walked me through everything that was wrong with my car and talked with me for 30+ minutes about buying a used car. Great service and great people!

I chose Tim’s based on other reviews I saw on google. I was not disappointed, the staff is so helpful and courteous, and they did a great job. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was a sign that said “welcome to the family” with the new customers coming that day. They certainly care about customers and making them feel welcome. They do a thorough digital inspection and use text to communicate throughout the day. Coming from using chain mechanic shops every detail of my experience was very enjoyable and such a change of pace. I appreciate them taking the time to work with me and explain everything to me all while treating me with respect. When I drove my car home it honestly drove better than it had in years. These guys are the best. They really know their stuff and always come through whenever I have a vehicle-related issue. Ive been taking all of my vehicles here for years and have never been let down by the quality of service or turn around on a repair. I live in Orleans and these guys are in Metairie but very close to the Parish line, so theyre closer than most shops in Orleans anyway. If they werent as close, Id still make the drive, and I recommend everyone else in the area does, too. Its well worth it.

Im always leary of auto shops, especially as a woman. My engine light came on and I thought for sure they would call me with a dozen things wrong. So, when I got the call that they found nothing majorly wrong and even said my car was in great condition I knew I found my permanent shop. Tim was very helpful, professional and explained everything in detail. They are very welcoming and friendly. Simple oil change, rotate tires and no more engine light. Car running great. I would really recommend Tims.We recently brought in our 2007 Toyota Tundra with 298 thousand miles on it. It started over heating and the dash board lit up with all kinds of pretty lights. The guys at Tims called and told us it would be best to get rid of vehicle because it would cost more to repair than the truck was worth. My husband thanked them for their honesty and said they, like so many other shops, could have put a band aid on it and have it run a while until we were right back where we started. Tims Quality Car Care is a great place to bring your car. When I had my Ford Escape several years ago, they were transparent with me about not wasting any money to fix my issue with it. With my current vehicle, they tell me whats wrong and let me know what absolutely needs to be fixed to give me the option of getting everything done or the important stuff done. I’ve been going to Tim’s Quality Car Care for 5 years, and I’ll never go anywhere else. They treat their customers with courtesy and respect and they keep my car running flawlessly. I also appreciate their diagnosis system which involves a rating system of car issues that go from immediate repair to running smoothly. This way you can decide which car issues you can wait on and which ones need immediate attention. The review also comes with photos of the issues so that you know you’re not being lied to. They do a full inspection of your vehicle and then send you a link to the inspection report which comes with pictures of your vehicle, informational videos on the various vehicle systems, and Tims recommendations for each system on your vehicle. This is great for making an informed decision about your vehicle.2. After getting the report, I went back to the shop to talk with them about the repairs and Nick volunteered to walk me around the vehicle and show me everything they were concerned with and show me what was causing the problems that I had come to the shop for. This is what should always happen when you go to a mechanic or get any kind of repair done. I knew at this point that I could trust them to take care of my vehicles problems because I saw the problems for myself and Nick was able to explain each problem and the best solution for it.3. I feel like they are reasonably priced for the level of service and parts that you get. The invoice was very detailed, so I knew exactly what I paid for.4. They do quality repairs in a reasonable amount of time. They did a lot of work to my truck, including replacing the entire suspension and they did it in a day and a half. I was actually surprised when I asked how long it would take and they said it would be done within the next two days. They also took the time to test drive my truck on the interstate to make sure everything was perfect before they gave it back to me.My truck feels like a brand new truck, its amazing. I do most of my car maintenance myself so I dont often get to interact with a repair shop but these guys are great. I was treated professionally with all communication upfront. The digital inspection including pictures is a huge value add to the service you receive. I was not upsold on unnecessary services and my A/C was repaired quickly.

Tim’s is by far the most trustworthy, thorough, & knowledgeable mechanic shop I’ve been to in a long time. They get things done in a timely manner & efficiently communicate with their clients throughout the process of repair. We had a wonderful experience at Tim’s! My engine light came on flashing 3 hours away from New Orleans late on Friday afternoon and Tim allowed me to come in off of the interstate, scanned the engine and fixed the cylinder problems in 1 1/2 hours. No dealership would take me for 5 more days! AND he personally drove me to my moms house to wait. They were dependable, delightful, timely and fixed the problem. What a relief!! My family will be switching our New Orleans based cars to this wonderful family owned business! Highly recommend!!👍

Tim and his staff are both great mechanics and great people. Honest and thoughtful, they go above and beyond to make sure you understand whats going on with your car and lay out the options of what can be done within your budget (if you have one). They treat you really well and respect you as a car owner. Definitely will return!

I held back from writing a negative review because I wanted to believe they made an honest mistake but since taking my car to other places to get serviced I have found more and more things that were done completely wrong on my vehicle due to Tim’s. They are a family owned business and I would have loved to support a family business but they overcharged, did unnecessary replacements on my car and time and time again gave me misinformation. During one of our flooding days here in New Orleans my car engine completely stopped working. I was not in the flood waters when it happened but I had been driving so I assumed at some point water had gotten in their and messed it up. Tim’s told me that my engine was ruined beyond fixing (I have a 2011 rav4 at the time with less than 80k miles) they quoted me $7,000 to put a new engine in it! I was considering it because I believed the car was still worth is since it didn’t even have 100k miles and had been reliable prior to this. Someone suggested I get a second opinion so I took it to another mechanic who tinkered with it and fixed it in a matter of a day for $250!!! That is a huge difference! It’s been running smoothly for months now. Even then I didn’t want to write a bad review because that mechanic said he believed they made an honest mistake (a pretty big damn mistake but OK). Now I’ve taken it to the Toyota dealership to get an oil change and have them check it over again. Now I come to find out the Cabin Air Filter was put in wrong, and I quote, “ Someone just smashed it up in there” so basically it’s not filtering because it’s all smashed up and bent! Now Tim’s was the one that put that in! On top of all that they give ridiculous quotes and if you don’t know any better you will think it’s normal! They fixed my shocks and struts for a few thousand when they didn’t even need to be completely re-done. They quoted me a couple thousand to replace my catalytic converter which from experience with other cars I’ve actually bought that part myself and I know it only costs a couple hundred and then labor shouldn’t be a couple thousand!! Overall I do not know their intentions so I guess I have to assume they are very uneducated on cars or they truly do not care about their customers!!!! I would give them 0 stars if I could!

Absolutely wonderful experience at Tims! Went in for a brake issue- they examine your entire vehicle and send you a web link with pictures and explanations of any issues! Defintely zero pressure to fix anything more than you expected, but great to have this knowledge. Tim even gave me a ride home since I had to leave my car. Amazing work, incredible customer service!! I even received a thank to note a few days later. Love the personal touch, feels like family! Will be giving all of my business to Tims from now on!

I recently moved to the New Orleans area and decided to try Tims when I had car trouble. The folks there could not have been more professional, kind, and knowledgable! The inspection report they created for my car was incredibly detailed and comprehensive - I have never seen anything quite like it. They fixed my car quickly and made the entire procese easy for me. Above all else, they treated me like I was a part of their family. I will never take my car anywhere else!!!

The customer service was absolutely amazing. I will recommend this shop to anyone in the nola area! I spoke with Nick (who was very thorough and honest) about an inspection. He also took the time to discuss my options and gave helpful recommendations. I will absolutely ask for Nick next time I need car advice!
