We needed someone to hem a prom gown last minute and found this place online. I called and asked if they were able to get us in and the lady I spoke with was very polite and had us come right over. We arrived and was greeted at the door with a smile. A previous person reviewed and said not to be alarmed or Intimidated by the building and I agree. It’s a very small building and not fancy by any means but they did an amazing job on my daughters dress and it was completed within 24 hours. If we need any work done in the future I will definitely use them again.

Final disappointment for the day. Had 20 pieces agreed price was 383.00 back in June 2020. She didnt have enough material she said to do curtians so minus 4 pieces. I paid her 450.00 when picking up as she said that was the price we agreed on. When obtaining the pieces back 2 pillow case were not done. I told her to call me when she had them done. I paid her more then originally agreed.I did this because she worked fast to get my things done in 6 days and the work was good. Also some of the pieces were important to me.She never called me to pick up the pillow cases. And when I came to pick them up with three other repairs needing done she said I owed her 20.00 for the pillow cases.I briefly reminded her they were paid for. She said they were not. So I took my things to repair and left without the pillow cases I had already paid for.

She is very nice. Works fast and inexpensive

Needed to find a place to hem my work pants a day before my first work shift. I dropped them off around 2 and told me they could be done by 9:30 the next morning and they were. She is amazing and a life saver!

She did such a great job!!! I had taken my outfit to another to see what they’d quite ($75 FYI) but she only charged me $50 to fix my entire costume and it looks great and was done in a matter of days!

I was so pleased with the service here. I was leaving for a trip the following morning and really only had that afternoon to get the suits tailored. The tailor said she may not be able to get it done but she would try. She was able to get all the done, same night and they were perfect. I will be using them for all my tailoring needs.

I took an off the rack suit into James this past week that needed a lot of tailoring. He did an amazing job! My wife couldnt believe how great it looks. She commented that I should take my other suit, which I bought and (supposedly) was tailored at one of the large chain stores, in and get it refitted correctly by James. Moreover, he was able to do it quickly for a law school competition in which I needed it. The price was very reasonable, especially for the amount of work that he ended up doing.Great craftsmanship, great price, great man. I stuck around his shop for a bit after picking up the suit because he is so pleasant to talk to. I would recommend him to anyone. If you want it tailored right, take it to James.

So incredibly rude!! I called and the person on the phone didn’t speak any English and got upset at me about it! Yelled then hung up on me!

Professional, courteous, respectful, and prompt service. This is an old world tailor. He has worked on suit jackets and pants for me: sleeves, hems, waist. His English is perfect. This is an example of classically trained tailoring going the way of the dodo bird. In too short a time, we shall see this high level of tailoring become extinct in favor of quick and easy.

I could not be more impressed with the results we had! We asked that my sons suit be fitted for his wedding and needed it in 3 days. James is polite, professional and personable. The quality of work impressive.I will definitely recommend James and return when I need alterations.

Awesome! It is great to see handmade clothing with flair, not the boring cheap stuff in the stores. I needed a rush alteration done for a special event and it was done perfectly and before time. So nice to see an old school way of doing business :)

-1 for neighborhood. Im betting this place has been around for a long time, and the world changed around this artisan. A man upholding traditions of a disposable garment society. The man, and the shop itself stand like a shrine to yesteryear. From ancient ads, and art, to the man who looked like he walked out of a mob movie. The Tailor to the elite. It was a pleasure dealing with him. I might rip something just to do it again.

The man is very very nice. I dont know how other people had bad experiences because they were great. I took in 8 pairs of pants to be hemmed and they did an excellent job and were very friendly! They are from Hungary but speak english just fine,

Excellent service! James was polite and extremely helpful! My husband needed his suit tailored in a hurry and James got the job done and did it very well! I cant for the life of me understand the negative reviews about this man and his business. Only explanation is these negative reviewers are entitled snobs! If only other satisfied customers actually took the time to give this man and his business a positive review undoubtedly you would see what I saw! As far as a language barrier goes it is minimal if anything, James is a Hungarian immigrant who speaks English very well! We will definitely be taking our business to him in the future, it is rare to find an old world tailor just as much as it is to find an old fashioned gentleman running a business these days.

One of the rudest professionals Ive ever dealt with. I called him with a simple question about an alteration I needed done and he was so incredibly rude I didnt even know what to say!! Dont waste your time. Go somewhere where the worker(s) are polite and are able to help you with a good attitude. This guy is a joke.

Rude and dismissive. If your tailoring need isnt big enough, you will be waved off and told to go elsewhere where they do that sort of thing.

Possibly one of the rudest and most dismissive person I have dealt with all day. Wouldnt even give me a rough estimate about a simple alteration. Dont waste your time here! I am a small business owner as well, and this gentleman knows nothing about customer service.
