Ridiculously overpriced and unprofessional. When asked about the high prices, she starts explaining how theres so much more involved that make here costs high. All I needed was two 36 straight passes on two pieces of fabric that she told me I would need to pin and have ready for her to pass through her machine. No measuring, no marking, no cutting, no pinning, just two quick passes through her sewing machine. She told me it would be $60. Insane for literally less than a few minutes of time and about 20 feet of thread. Somehow, she must have more work than she wants.Ive attached a picture of the fabric with the $30 seam. $60 for two of these.
Barbara Ann’s is a hidden gem in Mesa. She knows her trade as well as anyone out there. I needed a couple of suits tailored for a couple of job interviews coming up, not only did she give great advice on where the suit should be altered to look the best but she was able to get the suits back quicker then any other place I talked too. Lady is great and would go back in a heart beat. Thank you again.
I contacted Barbara Ann from a Google search and had her add a zipper to a button up denim jacket I have. It turned out EXACTLY as I had hoped!! Not sure why anyone would consider her rude or lacking customer service (post on google review). She was polite, prompt and did a great job! I told her Id definitely contact her with future needs. Highly recommend her services if youre in need!
Barbara is extremely professional, has quick turn around times, and the quality of her alterations exceed expectations. I’ve taken multiple military uniforms for her to alter and they have all been completed to standard at very reasonable prices. Her business is one I would recommend to anyone.
Barbara Ann always does quality/timely work. Turned around a suit quickly for a Quinceanera.
Shes the best with an a Nimble and needle
I have been coming to the laundromat for 2 years now and I must say she is a little rude I dont care though, I wash my cloths and dont acknowledge her....but how sad it is to see someone act in such a way.The cleaning guy at night I believe his name is Clifford very quite gentleman and very respectful and friendly. Maybe Barbara Anne should learn from him on good customer service.Merry Christmas Clifford and Best wishes for the New Year to you. The 5 stars is for Clifford and his awesome customer service
Great location to go for alterations. The owner does all of the alterations. She is competent and works long hours to get it done for he customers. I came in to have a new suit altered because the original tailor did measure me correctly. Barbara was willing to measure me for free and give me some suggestions rather than just doing what would benefit her. It is rare to find someone that is willing to do what is in your best interest rather than what will make them more money.
This was by far the worst experience with a dry cleaner I’ve ever had. I strongly encourage you to look anywhere else for services. I took my items prior to the weekend and I was told they would be ready on the following Tuesday afternoon. Never mind that most dry cleaners are much faster than that. Nonetheless, I went in Tuesday at approximately 4:30 and the items were not ready. I waited 10-15 minutes for them to be finished. Furthermore, she told me that two pairs of the pants ‘soaked up a lot of the chemicals’. To her credit, she told me that if was ‘too bad’ that I could bring them back and she would launder them. The two pairs of pants she indicated were so saturated in whatever chemicals she uses that I couldn’t really even take them out of the plastic. I took them back to be laundered and she explained that since it had rained (and Arizona doesn’t get much rain), she wasn’t able to really finish the sequence. Her machines were outside due to Arizona clean air rules, and she had to shut down and was waiting on maintenance. It sounded extremely suspect. I later put on the suit she had ‘cleaned’. It wasn’t as bad as the other pants, but it was bad. Within two hours, I began to get light-headed and had a headache. Other people around me complained about the chemical smell. On a break, I took the suit back to her as well and demanded my money back. She was rude and refunded only a portion of the money and again blamed the rain and the position of her machines.Because of this, I missed a professional opportunity that I was specifically in town for and had adverse health risks. I took the items to another local cleaner who was FANTASTIC. No chemicals, no delays, friendly and wonderful employees and almost HALF the cost of Barbara Ann’s. The worst part was that the second cleaner told me they’d never heard of such Arizona air regulations and that it was very odd that her machines were outside.Go literally anywhere else for cleaning services. She was late, she overcharged, she was rude, she failed to even clean the clothes properly.
So.... I just dropped off my wedding dress to get altered and.... I just have to say it is the most professional, easy, affordable, experience... Barbra is GREAT. I am very happy and pleased with her expertise, I would definitely recommend her.
By far BEST Taylor in AZ! But if you need something by a specific date (less than three weeks) you better make it crystal clear to her that it has to be done (no exceptions). She will be honest if she can get something done by the date you require. The thing is, she is an exceptional Taylor and everyone in town knows this so she is swamped. But trust me if you have a pair of pants that are slightly to long or too big or small in the waste (and even hips). She will make your pants fit you perfectly!! Its well worth the wait.
Brought in a shirt to have decorative patches sewn on and I paid in advance, told me it would be ready on the next Monday. I came in on Tuesday, they said sorry we will have it ready tomorrow on Wednesday, came in on Wednesday again NOT ready and again said it would be ready tomorrow on Thursday. I came in on Thursday and again NOT ready, I got a refund and my shirt and patches back, however I did not get wear the shirt to the event on Saturday I was planning on. I DO NOT recommend any business who strikes out like these people did, just sell your business and retire, would be my recommendation.
I took a suit in to be altered, and was given some advice regarding the garments. I returned them and got another size and Barbara was able to do the alterations. It was a very pleasant experience, and I will definitely be taking other garments in to her!
She was awesome!!
The WORST service ever! I brought a piece in to show the owner, and she said she could do it, but to bring it back in a week because she was busy. I brought it back, left detailed instructions with her husband, and heard nothing. I stopped in a week and a half later, and she said she hadnt done any alterations all week - only dry cleaning. She promised it four days later. I came back five days later to pick it up and she said, oh, I looked at that thing twice and couldnt figure out what you wanted done with it. Never called me. Apparently never asked her husband for clarification. Never will I come back here again!
$31 to hem a pair of pajama bottoms and take in the elastic. I had to hear how she has to pay someone to come in and sew, pay their insurance and pay for the building as well. Went elsewhere.
Absolutely rude woman. I would not do business with her if she was the last one on earth. Completely uncalled for.
Fist friendly service
I had a very delicate shirt with strange stains and they were able to get it cleaned and looking better than ever! I am very pleased and impressed with their work.
I have been going to Barbara Anns Alterations since 2010 when she first altered my Wedding dress, and did a fabulous job.......I live in Chandler but go to Mesa for her services because they do such a GREAT job !
I have I always had good service she and she does an excellent job.
I love this lady !!! Have been going there since I was a kid
She did an excellent job with my dress blues and service uniforms
This old hag of a BITC$ is rude!! she has no idea of what customer service is
I came in with a very specific alteration and was pleased with the results. The place is very clean and professional. She takes care of her customers needs.
This woman knows her stuff. She has been in the business for years and can work miricles, if need be! Shes been my only choice for alterations for over 20 years-
Was extremely rude on the phone. Causing me to look at all these reviews. I will go elsewhere!
I wont consider going anywhere else. Long time customer, never disappointed.
Rude! Barbara was probably stressed but was far from professional.I took my business elsewhere.
Too bad it’s permanently closed now
Although I was in the wrong place,I walked in and the little old lady came out so rude and asked What I wanted.I explained to her about why I was there and before I even finished she became even more rude and said the address and I was in the wrong place with a smug look on her face.I asked again if she was working on what I was looking for politely. And with her back turned to me and a cold attitude she said no and walked into a room and shut the door.I apologized and walked out.I will never do business there and let my peers know not to as well.No one needs to be treated with such disrespect!!!!!
Really bad experience not recommended
Bad service refuse to help made me try out clothes and then told me a whole story how she overworked and that i should go to the other alteration place this is a bad service never had such thing happened to me very disappointed
Should have read the reviews. Rude and unwilling to take responsibility for her actions. Poor customer service by Barbara Ann.
