I found HOC by luck. Ive been going to other spas for the many years and always walk out somewhat dissatisfied. I was at a point where I needed a pedicure at the last minute. Randomly, I called HOC and they were able to get me in right away even though they had a full schedule. It would appear that no one was cut short on their level of service by adding me. I was super impressed with their attention to quality of service and appreciated their ala carte menu. I have taken two other people with me to their business since finding them and they feel the same way I do. Dont be deceived by the decor. Hang and Vannie are super professional in their own way!

BEWARE! I treated family members to 2 gel pedicures, one gel manicure, and one regular pedicure. The bill was $219!!!!! Every thing is an add-on. No lotion applied to arms or legs, no hot rocks, steaming towels, cuticle trimming, etc. I did include a tip because it wasnt the technicians fault that we got ripped off - the owners set the prices.

Ive been coming here for a while now and the ladies do a great job every time. They are so friendly, accommodating and have a very clean salon. One of the best in both Canyon and Ada county.

I love this shop! I called and went in. They were gentle with my tiny nails and hands. They did exactly what I wanted really quickly and the place was really clean. Everyone wore a mask and it was a great experience. Will definitely be back

Hang, the owner did a full set for me as a walk in. Almost unheard of these days. She was very kind and very detail oriented. The salon was clean and the other staff were nice. I give it 4 stars because I felt like the prices were rather high and I was a bit annoyed that they charge a 4% fee, if paying with anything but cash. Also, from what I could see, they didnt have a price list for services available.

Plan to wait and be there awhile. Over two hours for a pedi and fill. They overbook and juggle people around. Scheduling an appointment means nothing. You will still have to wait.

So happy with my nails. Called in yesterday to see if they could fit me in after work, just after 5ish, and they were more than happy to schedule an appointment with me. I walked in and the salon is so beautiful and clean. You can definitely sense the professionalism and quality the moment you walk in. I wanted something natural and coffin shaped, and its exactly what I got. My nail technician was very precise, and even after a long day of work, he didnt seem in a rush to get them done. He took his time and always asked me for my opinion while he was doing my acrylic set. Im so happy with my nails. Thank you for taking your time! I will for sure be back.

Had to edit to add an update!Stopped going for a while due to financial reasons and in a pinch went to a different salon. Well my nails were done really bad at that place so I finally came back to HOC and OH MY GOODNESS I missed this place! They cleaned my nails up so well and they look amazing! I feel so happy and confident with my nails! Cant wait to become a regular again!My first time here I got a classic gel manicure. I was highly impressed! Making an appointment was super easy. Salon was clean and welcoming. The colours and paint job were fantastic. All of the employees were very friendly and pay close attention to detail and what you want. I will definitely return for more manis and a pedicure and highly recomend to everyone. Best nail salon Ive been to.

Always a nice clean experience!

1st visit: Very clean, kids had nails painted and had such a great time. Good value.2nd visit: made appointments, running about 15 minutes behind. Took quite awhile as there were a lot of walk ins.3rd visit: just left without getting nails done. Appointment was 30 minutes ago and hadn’t even gotten started. Appears to still be 4 ppl ahead of me. It’s fine if you take walk ins but they shouldn’t go ahead or move those who plan ahead to the back. Not sure if we will be coming back.Just a reply to the owners comments: i very much appreciate the hard working people in all service industries and know that it is difficult work at times. I think just coming over and speaking to the client and letting them know what is happening and expected wait time would go a long way. Obviously when you are busy the clientele can see that you are working hard. I also work by appointments in my job and if I am ever running late I go speak with the client to ensure they know. I think just a little better communication would help. As mentioned above, I do think you do a nice job for a good value.

This was my first time visit to this salon, and I was very pleased. Vannie gave me a wonderful mani/ped ... it could not have been better! I was also pleased with their COVID precautions. I recommend their salon highly. (Julie McBride)

I have been here many times over the last few years and there is a good reason for it. Staff is friendly and kind. They talk to you and make sure to ask how you liking what they are doing. They always do a beautiful job and I never leave disappointed. Highly recommended place to visit.

I have been a customer for a year now. From the first visit, Hang and her staff have always treated me with courtesy and respect. I am very picky about my fills and mani/pedi’s, having sensitivity issues and I have been a happy customer since I first found HOC and Hang. I would recommend you go here for your needs as Hang uses the best products. My nails look natural, not filled, that is an art! The salon is spotless and you are safe in these Covid-19 times.

They are very candid and flexible with schedules. Worth every dollar!!!!!This is not your average nail spa so please ladies come with time. No cutting corners in this place. The work that these ladies do is so detailed and lasting. I highly recommend.

My new favorite place to get my nails done. These girls are so sweet, caring, and professional. They take their time, make sure you are comfortable, and take pride in their work. It shows, too. To top it all off they keep their salon immaculate. Will come back continuously!

Don’t get why lately she’s had so many bad reviews. Hang the owner did my nails and did them amazing!! I never get anything other than plain polish acrylics because the other places I go to don’t know how to do anything else but Hang did a beautiful ombré set. Definitely recommend

I have tried 8 other nail and pedi salons in the last 3 years. This out ranks them all. Very clean and very refreshing. The owner is so nice and does very nice work.

Walked in late on a Friday night. The shop was clean and Hang was very professional. My wife said that she did an AMAZING job on her nails. It has been 2 weeks and they still look great! That has NEVER happened before! She will be back!

I went in to get a pedicure. Although I was unaware it was 10 minutes before they closed, you would have never known it. Hang was exceptional! This is the best pedicure I have ever had, and Ive been getting it for 30 years. She was very friendly, but the service is what Im commenting about. If you want a high quality pedicure, this is the place!

The pros:Very clean!They used a liner in the foot soak tubs which seemed like a great option to ensure cleanliness.Great massage chairs. Seriously, the best chairs I’ve sat in while getting a pedicure.Staff were very nice and extremely patient with two 6 year olds.Nails and toes look great! *edit* two days later my hot pink nail color turned mostly yellow. At 6 days the gel polish began to chip and peel off. I removed the polish easily without using any acetone or tools. So disappointed.The cons:They’d obviously overbooked themselves. Two nail techs working. We had scheduled 4 pedicures and had called back to see if we could also do 3 manicures. They told my SIL it would be no problem. Arrived for appointment at 430, and 1 woman worked on all of us while another continued to work on other customers. I finally left at 710 to go to work and my SIL and the kids didn’t leave until 745 - over 3 hours there. There were 2 nail techs until 630 when a 3rd on-call tech came in to help.Also, 4% fee to use a card to pay. They did tell my SIL about that when she was sitting there waiting for us to finish but it would have been better to know at the time to appointment was made.

Hang is very professional and knows what she is doing. She takes her time to make sure your nails look just the way you want them. Her staff is always so kind and friendly as well. They are very careful and make sure that your 100% satisfied with your nails. Thank you H.O.C for taking care of me!!

Four of up showed up with out an appointment to get pedicures! They welcomed us and were more than happy to help us! They did an amazing job, treated us well, and the establishment was clean! I will gladly be going back to them!

Was a walk in late at night because all other nail salons were being rude when I walked in. The sign out front caught my eye and I went in to see Hang. She did a beautiful job and does quality work. Worst experience ever! I went in a few weeks ago and had a great experience but went back today and it was horrible! Was told to have a seat and sat for 45 minutes waiting with remover on my nails and while 5 people with appointments came in. I understand that the people with appointments come first. That is not what Im upset about. What upsets me is dont tell me you have time for me when you know you have 5 other people with appointments coming in! Will never go back!

I am a perfectionist (my manicurist just hands me the file so I can fix them when shes done!) and my teen daughter came home from H.O.C. with most perfectly done nails I have seen! There was no gap between the nail polish and cuticle that makes it look like a growing out manicure before you even leave the business. Every nail was filed completely the same shape as the others and the painted design was so perfect it looked like a stamp!! There had been a miscommunication and after all her nails were done they insisted happily on removing BOTH of her accent nails and completely redoing the whole gel process just to make sure she was completely satisfied with the color scheme!! And I kept refusing to believe they were just gels and not an acrylic layer-because 5 weeks later they STILL did not have a single chip on any of them!!! My other daughter had a manicure at another place that same week that had chipped within 2 days! Wow!Wow!Wow! There are still people out there that are truly skilled take pride in their work and customer satisfaction!!

I came in without an appointment.(Saturday before Christmas in the early afternoon) I waited about 5-8 minutes. When I was serviced, the gal did a BEAUTIFUL job!! So pleased with how my nails turned out. Will be returning for sure.

Wow!!!! Finally I have found my nail gal!! Moving from LA there is an abundance of great nail techs. Boise not so much. 4 months later and I have finally found her! Do yourself a favor and go to Hang. First off, she takes an 8:30am appointment on a Saturday. That is so accommodating for someone with a busy schedule. Secondly, I expressed to her that I want a more natural acrylic look and she told me about OPI powder dip, basically cross between acrylic and gel without any damage! She also exclusively uses OPI- very high quality! Thirdly, she took her time! Even with a couple clients patiently waiting she did not rush my appointment. I’m honestly so relieved to find her. I am very picky, I want my nails perfect and she did exactly this! Cue photo! Phenomenal Job! Thanks again Hang! See you in a few weeks! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Oh two more things! She is great to chat with and she serves complimentary wine!! The best!

Love Hang, the owner! This was my first experience at H.O.C. and I was so impressed with Hangs professionalism, variety of products and CLEAN salon. She has added bonuses such as warm hand massage lotion and a steamed warm cloth on your hands afterward. This is my new go to place! My nails look great and her work is quality and not rushed.

Super nice girls! You can tell the place is new. But dont judge it. My gel manicures never last 2 days from other nail spas. And my hands are always in water. My gel looks so perfect and hasnt chipped or peeled!!!! So excited! They are perfectionist! Will be going back for sure!

I love the ladies here. They really pay attention to detail and deliver your wishes on your nails. Straight up talented. I have been in 3 times now and made an appt. Everytime. With each appt. The wait time is getting longer from after I check in on time to the time Im helped. This last time was 22 min.

Friendly and nice employees, however if you have anything else on your agenda, make sure that you dont choose this salon. I spent well over three hours total while in that time people were helped before me and finished before I was helped.

H.O.C. is destined for #1 Nail Salon status in the entire Treasure Valley--at the very least! Hang is a gifted nail technician...and heres an interesting tidbit: both her parents were nail aestheticians as well, so she has the benefit of all the knowledge her parents have gained throughout their careers and shared with her. In all the years Ive had my nails done--and that includes (besides here in the Boise area) in California, Florida, Virginia, and Brazil, shes the best. No kidding! I have to thank my dear friend and neighbor for referring her to me!

This was our first experience with getting our nails done, so I had no idea what to expect. I called a week before to make an appt. so we didnt have to wait. I also told the lady making my appt. that I have two young girls I am bringing and this was our first time ever and was wondering if I could schedule two appt. so my daughter and her friend could get their nails done at the same time. She told me they would have two people and that they were not booked that day I made the appt. During this time I also asked how much would it cost for two young girls to get gel nails painted and she told me it would only cost $26 each child so I confirmed my appt.We got to our scheduled appt. 15min early so the girls pick out the colors they wanted. When walking in I told them we have an appt. and asked if they had an examples of colors and also told them this is our first time and we wanted Gel nail polish that was $26 for the girls. They said ok and gave me these mini samples to look at. WE WAITED 1HOUR AND 15MIN before they actually started on one of the girls, we didnt have two nail techs like requested and the whole hour and 15 min we were waiting they would say just a couple more mins.Finally when they got to us We asked if she could do basketballs on the nails and she said she wasnt trained to do any designs and asked if we could pick easy colors and designs. We picked out simple lines that she said she could do. After she was finished we went to check out and she started checking us out and my grand total was $85!!! I told her we only wanted the $26 nails that is why I told her in the beginning so she would show us the correct colors, then she decided to tell me that the couple lines she put on the nails was extra. I told her that was something she should have been more clear about and asking us if it was ok before applying it on the nails. I was completely unaware that a couple little lines on the nails were extra. I feel like they took advantage of the situation of us being new. Well the manager and owner was supposedly out of town for 4 weeks and there was nothing she could do. she wouldnt take the extra charges off and told me that I should have known, she said its common if you add extra colors it costs more. I told her thats why I explained this was our first time ever from the very first conversation online to even when we walked in the doors that same day. Very unprofessional business and did not seem to want to help in anyway, this business is not about making or keeping their customers happy. I would highly recommend taking your money and time elsewhere. Not to mention one week later one of the girls had all her nail polish fall off and my daughter had one nail that polish came off within days. So disappointed!

She did an exceptional job of removing my old acrylic and completely preserving my natural nails. She did a superb job, very detailed, I will return.

WOW!! I cant believe the way this lady talks to her customers. Calling customer names stating they have memory loss problems, and that they are liers. This is NOT how a business owner should act!! If a customer complain you should do everything in your power to help that customer out and not place the blame directly on them. Now I know you dont some sort of liquor license or anything do you. Now that is illegal. And yes you have to have a license for the public to bring their own beer and drink it in your establishment. I went in for a Gel Mani/Pedi combo. Hang seemed nice at first. It turns out one of the glitters I had chosen did not look the same on my nail as it did on the sample nail. After 2 coats of trying to build up the glitter (it just looked clear with a few specks) I asked if they were the same color. She then informed me the color on the sample stick was the same name, but the one on the stick was a non-gel color. I was surprised she had it on the sticks with all of the other gels. It simply didnt come out the way I expected and asked her if there was something else we could do. She suggested putting a darker gray coat over the glitter and going back with more of the glitter after each cure. I simply wanted my nail to look like the sample stick that I was shown, but it didnt at all. I had about 8 coats of polish, which I did ask for, but only because she didnt tell me that the color shown wasnt a gel color and wouldnt look the same. I was so unhappy, I decided to not go through with the gel pedicure either.So I left the salon with 2 nails that were super thick and I was pretty unhappy. After building up some courage, I called her an hour later and thanked her for all of her hard work, but mentioned I was unhappy. She assured me I could come in on Monday and get my nails painted over with a new color. I felt good about the conversation, and thought Monday would be just fine.Little did I know when I came in today, she was less than happy to see me and hardly greeted me. I sat down and she began to file down the thick glitter polish and asked me to choose a new color for all of nails, after I chose one she told me it wouldnt look good painted over the green, and would start to look thick from all of the coats to get a good base color. I asked if she thought the super dark, hunter green would more easily conceal the color, and she said she didnt have anything to say and then said in a sharp tone, I dont want you to call back if youre unhappy. I was totally caught off guard with the remark and thought it was quite frankly rude and unprofessional. From our phone conversation she had told me that she could cover it up, so of course that was my expectation that it would be fine when I walked in today. I then said the same green I have on the glitter nails would be fine, then I mentioned I had two small chips on my thumbs (They have a guarantee on their gel polish) and again in a rude tone she said, Well you didnt say that before, I can fix it.”Finally, as she was painting my 2 nails and the 2 little chipped areas (she just painted the chipped spots and did top coats), she told me regarding my visit today, I dont normally do this. I then told her I normally dont come in for adjustments after I leave either. She then said, If every client wanted a polish change... At that point I said, Im not trying to cause any trouble for you, I simply would like something else in place of this thick glitter. She then said, You wanted a full polish change, thats what you said on the phone. I then said, Well you told me it would be extra, or not look good if you painted over, so the green is fine. I see you have other people here, Im really not trying to take away your time from them.Then magically her tone changed and she said, Oh ok thanks. I sat there with a flat face, trying to bite my lip to keep the tears in my eyes from welling. I have never been treated so poorly by a so-called professional. Her comments were unnecessary, rude, and extremely unprofessional. No one wants to have to go back in to salon, but sometimes you have to for chips, repairs, and changes. I tried my best to be super kind about it, but she did not. Think twice before coming here, just in case youre not happy, shell make you feel terrible for it.If you read through previously posted poor reviews, she replies both unprofessionally and in detail discredits other client’s complaints / experiences . I should have known better, as I read her responses before. I’m curious what she’ll say to in response to this review.

The girls were super sweet. The opi gel nail polish doesnt stay on very long, only lasted one week before chipping, very over priced for a manicure and pedicure I wont be back due to the product and price but like I said the girls were great.
