I cannot express our gratitude enough!!! We brought our lifeless dog on Labor day and Im so glad we did!!! Although tests didnt show much, besides inflammation, the vet was 95% sure it was a tick bite, causing our dog so much pain and a very high fever. Our own vet misdiagnosed her but she knew and took us right in! They were kind, caring, professional, knowledgeable and not as expensive as I had thought. They literally saved her life! She said in 24 to 36 hours shed feel better and 24 hours on the dot she perked up and 28 hours later shes almost her old(young) self again!! We are eternally grateful to the entire staff who were understaffed and probably exhausted! I am beyond thrilled! Especially since CAVES wouldnt take her! Appreciation doesn’t even describe the feelings we have for them seeing our Grace come back to life. If youre reading this, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!♥️

Ive had two experiences with Meredith ER vet and both were great. Once I called because my dog was having a seizure and I was a terrified mess, and the woman on the other end really calmed me, helped me through it, and was very kind. And again I brought my other dog in for an infection and they got him in quickly, the process was very simple without excessive paperwork. They were very kind and helpful both times and I couldnt recommend them more. Maybe a tiny bit pricier than some places, but you get the service you pay for!

This past Sunday my husband and I had to bring our 13 week old puppy as she would not stop vomiting. This was our first experience with MVER and it was a positive one. They assisted us very quickly and were transparent with the costs. I was told exactly how much an x-ray was going to cost without even having to ask. I really appreciated this as there werent any surprises on our bill. Each staff member we talked to was friendly and clearly passionate in what they do. They did their best to ease our worries. Later that night at 1 AM, she was having more complications, so we called to see what we should do and again were provided with exceptional service. We did not have to bring her back into the clinic thankfully, but the woman we spoke to over the phone (I wish I remembered her name) answered all our questions and once again, put our worries at ease. I am very thankful for our experience as the first visit to the emergency clinic with your new pup is already stressful enough as is. Hopefully another situation like this doesnt arise again, but if it does, she will only be going to this emergency clinic in the future.

Highly recommend MVER! Had to bring in my 15 year old Dachshund after she had a seizure at home. I called first upon arrival and Michelle at the front desk was so nice and welcoming! I was in a serious state of distress while calling and she was so sweet and comforting to me. I arrived at 12am and they quickly took my baby in. Dr. Dunn did the exam quickly and called me right after. She was very kind, explained everything to me thoroughly and asked me if I had any questions at all afterwards. They treated my baby appropriately and took very good care of her. This was my first time ever needing to go to an emergency hospital but it was a very pleasant experience and it made me so happy how accommodating and nice everyone was. I highly recommend! At first I was so nervous not able to go in with him but when I saw one of the workers that gave us the paperwork I knew he would be in good hands. The Doctor called me right away and explained what she is going to do. She knew my husband and I were super nervous. I highly suggest going to a different veterinary emergency room. I took my cat there for a blockage. They took xrays and everything was fine. I sat in the exam room for 3 1/2 hours waiting for my cat to pee but he never did. Every time the doctor came in to check on us, he kept pushing surgery that would cost over $2,000!!! My cat has not left my side since I got him as a baby and now he’s 4. The doctor didn’t care about my cat or my financial needs. He just wanted my money, I definitely don’t trust them or would allow my cat to be operated on there.

Do NOT take your pet here! I’ve had two extremely expensive experiences here where my first dog was misdiagnosed with an eye issue (and we were charged a fortune) luckily Plymouth Animal Hospital corrected the issue and our second dog had a simple ear infection and was given a medication that prolonged the issue instead of nipping it in the bud (again, PAH corrected the issue). I have nothing positive to say about this place. Expect to get charged a fortune with little positive outcome. My advice, WAIT and see your regular vet.

I was disappointed with this vet. My dog had an acute seizure on Sunday and this was the closest vet that was open. This was his first seizure and both he and I were very nervous. We got there and they took him in after about 20 minutes. He is an ESA support k9 and typically very friendly I’ve never seen him growl at anything. They stated he was being aggressive, which from my experience is a common effect during the postictal stage of seizures. They seemed annoyed at this which made me feel very sad for my terrified dog. The vet had called me from inside and told me his exam was fine and that from what I stated she doesn’t think he had a seizure because seizures can only happen when a dog is unconscious. I got my bachelors in pre-veterinary medicine and I’ve worked at several vet hospitals and I know what she stated is far from the truth. I got the bill and left. I noticed I was only charged for a physical exam after I stated at the beginning I wanted bloodwork done. From there I rushed him to Westford emergency where they did a complete blood count, general profile, and checked electrolytes. Westford vet also stated that Meredith definitely should have run bloodwork. I’m hoping that the covid protocol is just throwing them off there game and that they aren’t like this all the time but from some other reviews I read I’m not too sure. I do not trust their care and I will not be coming back here.

We found ourselves in Tamworth, out of our home area and needing veterinary care on a Saturday morning - in the middle of a holiday weekend! We located this hospital by Google searching and are very pleased with the service and care we received. Although not an emergency but something that definitely needed to be addressed before it came to that - we are taken very good care of and the exam, diagnosis, and testing was very thorough. I was able to chat through our pets history which was acknowledged and taken into consideration in the testing. The price was very reasonable and only slightly over what I would have paid for a practice visit. I also did receive a follow up email checking on her condition which is always appreciated. Hopefully I dont have to go again, for obvious reasons :) but would recommend them to anyone that is looking for an emergency hospital in the area!

Had to make an emergency visit to a vet this weekend when I found my poor three year old bunny wheezing quite heavily... because it was the weekend I knew I would have to pay extra to get him checked out and even though we did not have to money to spare I knew I had to try to save him. When I googled local 24 hour vets I found this place... I knew it would be a long shot as not all that many vets take rabbits however they were more than happy to help me. I rushed him right over, our waiting was very minimal. They were very nice and helpful... checking him out promptly! When the vet found the problem (pneumonia) she was very hopeful that we caught it in time... they immediately came in with the solution, giving me the cheaper option, they told me up front what the cost would be knowing I was limited on funds... the price was a lot less than any other emergency vet I have ever dealt with and best of all they saved my bunnies life! He is doing so much better and I have them to thank for that!! I will ALWAYS go to them for help! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I came to this emergency clinic with a completely unconscious pet who was seizing. We called ahead of time to let them know we were coming in. This was middle of the afternoon and we ran in to find no one in the waiting room or at the desk. We knocked on the back double doors only for someone to respond well be out in a minute. about 10 minutes later someone came out with paper work for us to fill out...my pet still unconscious, unresponsive, with worsening vital signs and seizing. We filled the paperwork out frantically, they then sauntered in to take vitals. The vet came in about 30 minutes later and proceeded to lift up my unconscious pets head and say oh arent you pretty and turn to me and say oh you must just love him, hes so precious....my pet was still unconscious. They then needed to get the quote etc etc etc. During one of the wait times (keep in mind there was one other patient in the clinic at this time) we heard them discussing events of their upcoming week and giggling while eating lunch...while my pet still had not even been treated yet. It was two hours before we got any form of treatment, all the while my pet was seizing. They were very cavalier about my pets clinical status and had absolutely no sense of urgency despite being an emergency clinic. I will not be coming here ever again.

My family and I were camping when my 4 year old boxer collapsed at our feet. (He had collapsed a week prior and when we brought him to Nashua Animal Hospital we were told he had a seizure but his lungs and heart sounded great.) We called Meredith Place Vet Emergency right away and told them we were on our way. When we arrived, two vet techs came out right away to great us. One vet tech asked us questions while the other brought our boxer out back. We were then asked to wait in the exam room for the vet to come talk to us.After about ten minutes the vet tech came into the room and adviced us that the vet was currently busy with another emergency, which was understandable. She then proceeded to tell us that she did a physical and could not locate a heart beat on his left side. She said it could mean that there was fluid but they would need to do an X-ray and blood work. We said okay and to do what was needed. When the vet, Dr. Amanda Fragg, finally came in she adviced us of the severity of our boxer’s condition; he had a global size heart, a collapsed lung, fluid in the chest cavity and stomach. She also stated he never experienced a siezure the week prior but rather a “stroke” from the lack of blood flow to his head. She said this also explained why he would have random episodes of having a white tongue, gums, and ears. She then told us that the radiologist found three tumors, one in his heart and two in his lungs. She adviced us at most he would live three months but we might not even get a week. She went over all of our options and costs. She remained extremely sympathetic from the beginning to end. She didn’t push us to make any decisions right away and gave us time to spend with our baby.We laid on the floor with him and saw how much he was suffering. When she told us the extreme lengths we would have to take just to keep him alive, we ultimately decided to put him down. He had a very aggressive form of cancer and he had been suffering for the last week of his life. When we told her our decision, she talked us through the whole process and gave us time to say goodbye.Though it was one of the hardest moments of our lives, we are so thankful we brought him to MPVE. If it wasn’t for them our dog could have suffered, seeing as he was miss diagnosed the week prior. The staff was extremely friendly and symptomatic from the moment we walked through their doors and even today, a week later, when we recieved a card in the mail from Dr. Amanda Fragg containing her condolences. We would like to say thank you for being so kind to us and for helping make this extremely difficult experience as smooth as possible. Thank you for caring for our Koa.

Many times over the years I unfortunately have needed the services of MPVH. The staff and facilities are top notch with up to date diagnostic equipment. The doctors have always been pleasant and kind hearted toward my pets that were in need of their care. Great compassion shown to them and me in stressful situations. They always follow up with me after the appointment to check on the patient and update my regular Vet by the next day.A situation in particular that comes to mind is when I had to rush my georgous Maine Coon Cat to them in 2010. He was diagnosed with CHF. The medical images showed his condition was much worse than his original diagnosis of it being manageable. It was was in fact terminal. We were devastated with the news, and humanely put him down. The staff was wonderful and helped with arrangements for his cremation and remains. Her treatment then was based on data and xrays from the First Visit, but yet I was charged again for the same services including a “repeat visit in a week” $75 charge.” I tried calling several times to despute the charges (even leaving messages with live people). I never received even a courtesy call back.Go here if you want a vet that considers billing and monitary compensation first, which was shown in their inability to account for an incorrect diagnosis. Considering I paid for everything up front and in full (total over $2k) it makes me wonder about their true priorities.

If this is an emergency and you are looking for places to go-- GO TO CAVES. Go, go, go!! Dont waste your time here. Your dogs life is worth the better treatment and care.We had a terrible experience here and ended up going to CAVES immediately after. Thankful for pet insurance. CAVES did 1000x more for our pet and cost less. The female vet here on Saturday didnt give a darn about our dog and his symptoms. We had to push for a diagnosis which she just couldnt do and said we just had to wait and see. We keep pressing, as our dog was extremely ill, and she says in a rude tone, Well, ugh, I GUESS he could stay here. The notes she took were completely inaccurate (went over options, owner refused treatment). No way! It should read, I didnt bother to even check the dog before telling them he should just go on pain meds. The owners pressed over and over to have him checked out. I then spewed a ton of BS after they pressed for 25 minutes to get information and clearly had no idea what I was talking about. We drove to CAVES, who IMMEDIATELY took him in by moving us to the front of the line (shows the urgency there vs Meredith), gave us a diagnosis, and began treatment. Their overnight was half the cost of having him stay at Meredith for a couple of hours when clearly Meredith just wanted to drug him up and say they were watching him.Her bedside manner was terrible, she didnt care at all about our dog, and she didnt bother to try and diagnose. When I called my normal vet, they explained that they always send emergencies to CAVES and have had many complaints on Meredith. I was on vacation in NH when my dog started breathing weirdly in the middle of the night. Local vets were closed so I called MVER and asked if they could check on her. When we got there, it took a few moments for anyone to come out.An assistant took us into the exam room, and took my dogs pulse and checked her weight. Moments later the vet came in, checked her temperature... told us she was in Congestive Heart Failure and said they either could euthanize her, or give her a drug to eliminate the fluid from her lungs. Two options. Off of one little exam.Mind you, the vet did not show ANY remorse at all!!! I came for a checkup and just found out my dog is dying. She didn’t even ask what my pup’s name was. I obviously wanted more time with my pup so I said I want the drug for her.The vet got MAD at me for my choice and basically rubbed it in my face that “this isn’t gonna help her at all she’s going to suffer if you don’t put her down sooner.” Basically pushing euthanasia ASAP.I insisted through tears that I needed more time with my dog ANY WAY I COULD. So she took her in the back room for the shot. Not 5 minutes later she comes back with my dog who is now breathing worse and is convulsing. The vet LEAVES without any hesitation and says she’s getting paperwork. I NEVER SAW HER AGAIN!!!!My dog got so bad while we were waiting there, that we ended up telling the assistant that we had to put her down. She took my pup into the backroom herself, and said she’d let me know when my dog was “comfortable” so that I could watch the process and be by my dogs side.A few minutes later, she came back out without my dog, and says she “peacefully passed through euthanasia”.1: still never saw the vet again! She never even gave her condolences.2: I didn’t get to be in the room when my dog of 8 years passed on.3: right after she passed the assistant whipped out the bill and said “I’m sure this isn’t the best time to give you this” AND LAUGHS.The bill was $400 and when we got her ashes back, we didn’t get the paw print we paid for.It was the absolute worst experience and I hope something is done to fix it.Im not mad at the cost or even mad at the paw print. I’m more mad that my dog didn’t get the proper care she deserved from these “caregivers” in her last moments. She deserved so much better. I will never go back to this place and I hope no one does. Dogs deserve fighting caregivers. Nothing less.

My dog got quilled. it was not a large numbered quilling. small. on the nose and miscellaneously sparse around the face and paws. since the quills get in places that can be hard to find for the layman, we decided to go to the vet emergency room.to be clear, i am grateful for what was taken out and everyone was very nice. however, after paying the bill of over $400, it has been over a week and we are still pulling quills out of our dog. i just found 2 more quills, in addition to the 3 my wife found, by just petting her in obvious places and not searching. this was not a pleasant experience. i understand these things cost money and you need to be paid. for the amount i paid, there should not have been any quills left. i have seen pictures of terrible quilling. our dog was far from those. very far.yet it is my opinion that for over $400, the easily located spots and seeing a professional should have left nothing whatsoever.i also think you should have a policy that if any are found post-procedure, people should be allowed to bring their animals back to finish the job of any quills missed. you were going to charge me another $400+ to get the remaining out.i am not angry or vengeful. this is just a matter of business and service. thank you.

My girl was put through an uncalled for dreadfully traumatic experience and we lost three puppies even though I had given my consent to open her up and do a caesarian section. Instead the vet put my girl through screaming biting pain to get a walrus puppy out and then two shots of oxytocin even though I had told her my reproductive veterinarian does not like oxytocin being used because it puts puppies into distress and causes severe uterine contractions. I will drive the extra 70 minutes to Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital from now on unless it is a life/death situation.
