Wow! What a little surprise. This trail starts off high and the trail descends down to the river. Youll catch some sweet views on the way down too! On the way down youll walk through a secluded leafy green trail, at least during the warmer months. Theres benches and some trash cans along the way too! Youll come across some babbling brooks, and a small lake that feeds into the river as well.At the end of the trail youll find a parking lot for Lilydale regional park. I advise you start there actually since theres actual parking spots. Whereas if you follow where google maps takes you it does indeed bring you to the trail, but youll have to park on the road about a block away from the entrance. At a leisurely pace I definitely spend over an hour on the trail walking down and back up it.
Great little trail with a TON of history - also provides a convenient pathway from the bluffs down to the river (and Pickerel Lake). I often run the brickyard trail and can certainly state that it kicks my butt on my way up. Highly recommend this level of wheezing. There are multiple points on the trail that provide really nice views of St. Paul, the river, and the marsh area adjacent. And you might occasionally find a turtle, owl, eagle, and so many more creatures hanging out here and there around the trail. Restoration atop the trail seems to be nearly complete (I think), but I believe the powers that be hope youll stay on the path.
Great place to hike, bring dog. Mine is friendly and immediately backs away from strife. Park along woodsy trail to let dog or or just walk....... Clear out of non indigenous trees, theyve done done a thorough job.Bench to sit o overlooking Mississippi and good place to socialize s hikers, walkers and dog lovers
Great trail, but steep in some spots. Lots of elevation gain for a short hike!
Cool place. A Must See
Lovely switchback trail down to the riverside
Open bathrooms and turn on water!
