Not honest. After getting you tied to a contract, charging you any kind of fees, and taking your money this company do not solve any issues or take serious responsibility as they say.LA fitness staff is pretty nice and the location is overall very clean. However, there is a lack of communication that leads customers to a misunderstanding starting from the moment they try to get you to sign the contract. I liked the fact that this gym is fairly complete, so I received the contract to sign and the small talk about the fees and classes offered and I was happy that I finally got a membership. Everything was going okay, until the gym closed for about 2 month during coronavirus pandemic, and I was still getting charged for my membership (received an e-mail saying that I would have those 2 months I paid for at the end of my contract but this never happened.)Once my membership contract ended I was told I would have the 2 months that I paid ON TIME while the gym was closed due to COVID19, but instead I got charged monthly as if nothing happened and I ended up losing my money. I canceled my membership (for which you also pay a fee) and yet expected to get the 2 months I paid for but after talking to the front desk they were not able to help me. This ruined my experience at LA Fitness and broke the trust I had in the company.I am not a customer they would ever miss but I wanted to warn people who are thinking about joining an LA Fitness gym: I would not recommend if you really care about the money you work so hard for.

I love this place. I feel so much better after I finish my water aerobics. Mr. Davis is a very good instructor. He takes time with us senior citizens. I hate when I have to miss class for personal reasons. I have two other friends who will join his class. They are very interested and enjoy as well as being excited when I describe our class experience. Thanks Mr. Davis

I wanted to try it for one month and told that specifically to the guy that came to talk to me. He said that wasn’t possible and that the shorter package was 6-month. And he didn’t specified that Personal training wasn’t included in the already expensive package and while talking he included all that in one packed and after I paid he told me to comeback tomorrow. I did comeback tomorrow and he started to train me and then did my plan and all just to comeback at me trying to charge me for the personal training for the future 6months.

Gym is small and cramped. Very popular machines (leg curl, lat pulldown) have been broken for over 6 weeks. Staff is rude and half of the members are paying Esporta prices and some are paying la fitness prices. Do yourself a favor and join the Club4Fitness across the street for much cheaper

Awesome staff, awesome trainers, facility is okay but good for a great workout.

Good gym to work out, no one bothers you.

Enough space for everyone to workout where they want to and feel the burn. Staff keeps sanitation stations stocked and ready for guest. Clean environment.

Never join LA Fitness!!!!Before my friend join, they say he can cancel anytime without charging. But when he wanted to cancel, they charged him $200.I was with them more than three years. Because of this pandemic, I called in to suspend my membership. After about 3 month, I found they kept on charging me for full price, my membership was not suspended at all. I called in again, they told me I have to do it face to face. I went to fitness center to suspend again, but they still charged me the next month. I went to fitness center the second time, they said they didnt receive my suspend request and there is a fee for requesting suspension, they never told me about this before. I paid the fee and they told me that is all I need to pay and I can reactivate whenever I want. It has been sever month since then and I just found they are still charging me $10/month.If you are already in and want to get out, just report your credit card for lost, that is the only way to get out of them.

ROBBERY: Be careful Women about leaving important items in your car. Women are being Targeted and Robbed in broad day light on LA Fitness Parking Lot. Men and Women leaving your personal items at night are being robbed too. LA Fitness has cameras but they do not work. That is the reason for a 3 star!

Great place to work out if you are interested in a place to socialize. Guests can congregate and be loud. And also if you are good with your workout being disrupted by other guests who talk loudly on their phone while they are working out or listen to their loud music or videos without a headset. The management advises its a violation of guest rights to ask them to be respectful of others when working out. So if you want a quiet place to work out and not be disturbed, this LA Fitness is not the place for you.

A lot of gym for a little gem! And you can add family and friends. Even though everyone I invited to join have not but at least 1 family member joined. And others have become more health conscious and exercise outside of the gym. Love the sauna after a good days work out. Everything a larger gym offers without the large price!

I had a great workout

I come here whenever I travel to Memphis for work. Kinda new facility, and clean also. Some guests are loud, sometimes I got scared by people yelling at each other, for motivation I guess. There is a pool and hot sauna. There are no ceiling fans, which I hate :D

Ive been a member since the gym opened a few years ago. The facility is great. Theres more than enough equipment to get a fabulous workout even when the gym is crowded. The staff is great as well.

Its exactly what the franchise made it to be, so if youre familiar with LA fitness youll get what you expect. High turnover but generally very nice employees. The picture is what youll see just before you do a sit up.

Love this gym. I have been a member have nationwide membership. I go to all the local gyms. It feels like working out with friends and family.

We didnt stick around long. Went to a couple spinning classes and the instructor was great. Wish the rest of the employees were too.We started going when the gym was new and so everything was clean as well-kept. Not sure anymore.

The POOL definitely needs a upgrading in CLEANING and LIGHTS. One guy was sitting in the hot tub singing loud the entire time. The WATER in the POOL is not CLEAN and CLEAR like the Poplar location.There are DIRT STAINS around the POOL. Women sit in the SAUNA with jogging pants,legging, shirts, shoes,and shower caps on. Attention Management.🤢

The gym equipment are great and in good condition. My issue is I got a call one day from the VP stating that both general mangers have been training someone at the gym so they were taking my guest pass away. They couldnt tell me who it was male or female. I went to the Lakeland location where I usually work out with my wife and I asked the general manager that if he told the VP that I have been training someone, and he said no he hasnt spoken to anyone about anything the only person he usually see me working with is my wife. I called corporate to speak to the district manager and waiting for about a week but never got a call so I decided to call corporate back again to see why I didnt get a call. When I spoke to corporate the lady said it was Final theres nothing they could do about it so I decided to call one of my friends who work at the gym and he told me that basically they wanted my wife to have her own membership because we have been at the gym for over 3 years and she been using my guest pass to work out with me.

Love my trainers and multiple locations. Everyone is different. I like Ridgeway the best but excited to try all of the Memphis area locations.

Nice & for the most part clean. They have some of the best group classes in the city. Yes they had a bad incident there almost a year ago (I know, I had direct contact because of my job) but things like that can & do happen anywhere. The staff has done an excellent job at trying to make people feel safe. Would give a 5 if they had a better Kids Club (The kids club is for the little, little kids. I needed something for the 8-12 year old.) & had WiFi like the other LA Fitness in the city :(

Very clean location. Updated equipment. I attended the Zumba class this time. The instructor is fabulous. He definitely kept us moving.

I frequent Lamars bootcamp and power circuit classes as well as Kennis Body Works class. They are challenging classes that help you build stamina and strength with consistency.

I visit several LA Fitness locations around the country. The Memphis Winchester location is good except for the cleanliness and members who play their music to loud, sing out loud to their music and talk out loud on their phones when they are working out. Pretty annoying. When I visit, the toilets are pretty nasty, trash bins are overflowing and paper towels on the floor in the locker areas. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I have shared observations with several staff and no significant improvement. Depending on the workout environment you prefer, be prepared.

They definitely dont verify backgrounds of employees before hiring them. They just hired a personal trainer with a drug history who was fired from multiple jobs for violent behavior. If they are that careless with who they hire, would you trust their business? I was a member, but like many others was duped on the contract. The final straw was learning about the integrity of their employees.

Clean facility and friendly staff. Im from out of town but this location is really good and convenient to shopping areas- Food, clothes, vitamins etc!

The apartment complex I moved to across the street gave me a week pass to LA fitness and those people only let me come 3 times for free. I couldnt really understand if I like it or not but I decided not to go because of contract that has to be signed. Too many contracts these days and dont feel like signing another one. Besides, just as other people are saying - they dont even advertise 1 year term unless you sign up yourself on their website. The 3 times that I went the gym was always full and was not very clean at the pool and sauna areas. They also call me every single day and I had to block their number because it was super annoying. Just go to planet fitness down the road and you wont regret.

This is an excellent place to workout at. Their are all different types of people from different walks of life, income, and social status. Ive seen cars in the parking lot range from an old Grand Am, to Fiskers and Bentleys. Once inside, we members are respectful to one another. I give credit to that to Derrick, the man-ager. He makes everyone feel welcomed and accepted by being involved and getting to know members personally, and by their 1st name. Ive also meet a few celebrities. I love my gym

I love this gym, its very very nice and clean. i just dont agree with their sales tactics and theyre sham of a free fitness assesment turning into like dealing with a car salesman.. unless you are dying for a personal trainer, DO NOT sign the contract for one. You will have three days to cancel as a buyers right. but that being said, IF YOU DO NOT CANCEL after THREE days of SIGNING that CONTRACT, you are BOUND BY IT and the only other options are to die. move farther than 30 miles from a LA Fitness location, or become physically or mentally disabled. luckily i read it after i got home and called the home office and got it straightened out. Just if you go here please please please be smart and dont listen to the fitness people. they are trying to make profit.but other than that, i love their atmosphere. they include free classes nightly that come with your membership package.it has a pool and a sauna and i absolutely love that. i have a package here and at ATC and i love both. ATC just doesnt push the personal trainer thing like LA. Overall it is a very nice well kept facility and i would recommend it to a friend, but i will also tell them about the hoax.

One of my cousins was physically assaulted here by another member and the staff refused to do anything about it. If anything, they UPGRADED the mans membership. Who does that?

Not worth paying 35 a month with a 3 year contract. He said itll be 1 year contract but when i read contract later on it had 3 years written on it. I gave them my debit card and told them to dont use it for automatic payments. But its 3rd time they charge my card automatically without my permission. I just dont understand why they open at 8 on Saturday and Sunday. Why? They charge more than every body else in town and cant even open early on weekends?? What a cheap looser .

I joined this location of LA fitness around Christmas 2014. This is the worst gym Ive been a member of. I canceled my membership.When I joined I was told I could add my family members at anytime, so a few months ago I tried to add my son and they told me he would need his own membership. Hes not even old enough to legally sign a contract hes not even in high school yet.Worst gym and service.

I am writing to state the frustration my boyfriend and I (both members) have encountered in the past two weeks at two separate gyms.A week ago, my boyfriend and I went to the Signature LA gym on Ridgeway. My boyfriend and frequented there for two months.Last week, my boyfriend was stopped and was told that he does not have access to the signature club. We were very confused because we had been there several times before and no one had said anything to us earlier on. Also, when my boyfriend signed up, he was told hed have access to all the gyms, including the signature ones.We were made to feel like criminals by the front desk associates, making comments to us such as:Youre lucky you got in the gym for so long!Well, I dont know how you managed to get in for free for so long.Think of it as a free trial!These comments were really offensive to us both.Do you really think that we were intentionally trying to hack the system by sneaking in? No one had brought it to our attention those past times, so how were we supposed to know?The general manger then came up to us and became very hostile when we were asking questions about how this couldve gone on for so long. He immediately shut out questions down and told us wed have to pay or leave.My boyfriend told the associate hed go ahead and add the signature gym to his plan.The lady told him at first itd be $5/month, and she kept making him sign the pad three times without telling us what he was signing.Every time we would ask, she would say, Try again, its not going through.Then, she told us at the end because of her manager that his rate would actually go up $20 dollars. We became very irritated because of all the confusion, and just decided to pay the $5 daily fee.Throughout this process, not once did any of the associates nor the manager apologize about the situation that wasnt even brought up to us until that day.The second time was today, when we visited a standard gym.Im not an expert with the weights, so I go with my boyfriend so we can workout together and also show me how to use the machines.Today, the general manager at the Polo Grounds location very rudely said to my boyfriend, You! Come here!My boyfriend told me that the GM was very hostile towards him, telling him that no training sessions were allowed and that he had seen him several times before at this location.My boyfriend explained to the GM that he remembered he used to see him at the Lakeland location, and thats where he had seen him before. He also explained that I was his girlfriend and we were working out together.After both these situations, we continued our workout together, but not in peace. Its kinda hard to workout when youve just been made to feel like a criminal instead of a guest.Both these situations are very frustrating, especially when your staff members are hostile and unfriendly. Both of these situations wouldve turned out better for me if the staff members wouldve been more friendly and listened to our situation before making rash judgements.I understand that there are rules and guidelines, but theres no need to be hostile towards guests, especially when all they want to do is workout.I know you probably wont miss my membership, but my contract ends May 6th, and I will happily look for another gym to workout at.You may have really good gyms, but the people that work there and their attitudes can truly make a difference.

I would really give this 3.5 stars as the gym is basically worth joining for alot of people but it has a few flaws that need to be taken into account before signing on the dotted line, especially for a year.I use to go to 24 Fitness on Ridgeway because they had a wet area and were 24 hours but they closed down years back. LA Fitness was the only place I found that had that had a wet area outside of a super expensive club in Collierville.My main issue is that the sales people at LA Fitness are super pushy and even had a guest I brought one time go talk to a salesperson for a pitch which ive never had happen at any gym ever. They hadnt even tried the facilities so how would they know if they wanted to sign up? In the beginning I signed a year membership and paid in full a year in advance which in retrospect was probably an error on my part. As I was told I was getting a deal but it seems like I was basically given a rate that probably wasnt the best I could have gotten for paying a full year. I was just ready to have a nice clean place I could go to after work and swim or sit in the sauna after work.Basically my main two issues with the place is that they should at least have the gym open 24/7 and close the wet area after 11 if they are worried about liability. I ended up only being able to go about 4 out the 12 months because my work schedule changed. They close at 11 which is reasonable for 9-5 people but what about the overnight workers? Just food for thought for 2-10 workers or 11-7 workers who just want to relax and not have a packed morning gym.Also it seemed like the basketball court was taken up all the time by pickup games, Many of the people seemed not to be regular members or guests abusing the system and stayed until it was about time to close. That means kids who like basketball are basically bored waiting for their parents to finish working out since they cant play....I have no problems with the rest of the staff overall and the place is very nice and clean, I just dont feel I got my moneys worth in the end but its not a bad club by any means. My personal experience could easily be someone elses so I felt it was worth commenting on.

Its a joke someone got killed on the basketball court and my wife is scared to go to the gym in the day time but her contract couldnt be voided because the gym wasnt at fault. Security measures are super lacks and the fire alarm goes off during my work out and no one told me it was an emergency or a problem. In between songs I asked what was the alarm and 3 employees told me it was the door alarm. 2 to 3 mins later the fire department comes and asked everyone to wait outside in 37 degree weather with a sweating body. I was sick for a week. This gym is hood and suck like a hooker who charges $20 cause the only wants ur signature on a 1 yr turns 3 yrs contract. This place sucks worse then the police departments bad cops. (Not the goodcops)
