The Virginia Eye Institute, located in Hanover County Virginia, is truly a great place to come in and get your eyes checked out. I’ve been using Dr. Cameron Lindsey for the past several years to check in on the health of my eyes every year. Highly recommend him if you’re looking for an amazing eye doctor in the area!

What a great group of people to work with!! Check in was fast and easy, comfortable waiting area. Not sure of the title but the young lady who checks everything before the optometrist sees you was a rock star-super kind, very knowledgeable, and caring-Tiffany was her name. Dr. Han was also amazing and makes the visit pleasant. The young lady who fit me to my new glasses was also was incredible. Hard to believe so many great folks in one place.

I was very pleased with the entire operation. The check in process was safety focused and went smoothly. And the wait time was a minimum. The doctors assistant was skillful and cheery. She took me through the initial tests quickly but also answered all of my questions. And Dr. Lindsey capped off a great visit, providing me with a very thorough eye exam. The only small ding was in leaving, when I wasnt quite sure if I was supposed to go to the optical shop or to a check out counter, etc. It was remedied fairly quickly.

This was my second visit at this location. I was a long time patient of Dr. Paul Bullock which has retired and I was transferred to Dr. E and I am totally satisfied. This location is very convenient for me as I live in Bowling Green. Very professional and personable.

My first visit to the Hanover location and I found it to be a great experience. The entire staff was kind,friendly and professional. The facility was clean and inviting. My appointment was timely and thorough. I was well pleased.

Extra extra long wait! 45 minutes and then once inside another wait 40 minutes and a free appetizer for the wait. I never plan to go back. They forgot us once inside which resulted in the gift from the mgr. which was not that good. Fried onion cheep and I left it. The pick up business outside was very busy, but to have to wait for a total of 90 minutes then wait for our dinner to be prepared absolutely suck!

Busy and didnt really get the feeling I was important to them...more as a number.

Outstanding, as always. My doctor resigned and this was my first visit with Dr. Grubb. Very good, very thorough, but should probably speak a bit slower; were southern here, after all! Continuing good care. Four stars only because theres always room for improvement, however slight.

I was very happy with the results of my eye surgery. Dr Estopinal was wonderful and his staff were all very knowledgeable and kind. I would recommend them to everyone.

Frirndly and warm atmosphere and the staff was courteous and friendly. I didnt t have a long wait before being seen by the doctor. I recommend this place to anyone seeking good quality vision care.

I will not recommend the Mechanicsville location. The Doc. was knowledgeable and cautious with regard to an existing issue (5*). The administrative and communication areas need great improvement. Long waits to be called to the counter, misinformation shared regarding appointment making, eye glass techs deciding to have a chat about evening plans while in the middle of fitting us, etc.

Imagine the most expensive bill you can, and then double that price. Sprinkle in some rudeness, and thats what you will get here. The bills are ridiculous (even with insurance) and borderline duplicitous.

Dr. Christopher Estopinal was able to diagnose my problem and provide a reasonable solution. Very happy with the outcome.Highly recommended!!

Went here to see my opthomologist. It was organized and efficient.

Saw Dr. Han on an emergency basis (in lieu of my regular ophthalmologist) -- diagnosed my problem quickly and recommended medical solution -- true professional!

Ive been seeing, get it lol, VEI for almost 10 years and they all do a great job with the examination and fittings.

I was very pleased with the staff. Professional and pleasant.

The Dr. was okay but his nurse was rude. She was very ugly and abrupt telling me to cover my nose better with my mask. Its not what you say but how you say it. Id happily adjust my mask if she was nicer. My whole family have been going there for years and have spent way too much money there to get snotty treatment. The receptionist arent the most welcoming either but Ive put up with it. Not anymore. Im going to find a smaller practice where they are more welcoming.

Great doctors, eyeglass sales are a joke. I guess if youre loaded with cash, no big deal.Person I saw had the personality of a rock, she was more concerned with going to lunch and what other employees were doing than helping me.Ill continue seeing their doctors but pass on the glasses. Walmart is much better, cheaper and more appreciative of your business.

Staff wasnt very friendly and the doctor I saw wasnt nice and when I was telling her I couldnt see she kept doubting me like I was lying to her about not being able to see. she kept asking are you sure you cant see that?.. obviously I cant see or else I wouldnt be here. Also had to get my glasses made somewhere else because the cheapest pair they told me they had was $150

It is not very comforting when you are met at the door and told that your spouse cant go in with you. My husband is very hard of hearing. So I usually accompany him so that I can take notes and ask questions for him of the doctor. Everyone seems to be in a bad mood since moving into the new building. No one has time to be friendly. Dr. GRUBBS was in a hurry. He did not have time to get to know us or for us to get to know him.

I purchased distance glasses with transition lenses. I was led towards drive-ware and led to believe that sunglasses frames couldnt be used. When I picked up the glasses, both women said they suspected I wouldnt like how dark they were. After a week of trial, I agreed, but I think they should have known how dark the lens would be before they were ordered. So I returned them within the 1 month period they allow. Then I found out I could use sunglasses frames. I went with active-ware lenses in sunglasses frames which works much better. With the switch, I picked a less expensive pair of frames and gave up the polarization that was in the first pair. The difference was about $150 but they wouldnt refund the difference. I get that there was cost involved in making the first pair but taking a loss once in a while is part of doing business. I will say this was my first bad experience with the VEI. It was also my first(and likely last) time purchasing glasses from them.
