Very disappointed with this gym. They said they were going to go to a 24 hour schedule. They still havent done that. They also dont have consistent hours of operation so its hard for people that work full-time jobs to pin point when they can go. A lot of equipment needs to be replaced or fixed. Very poorly ran

Not a review but suggestion. Can we get 24 hours I woke up at 5am nothing to do was getting up to come to gym and realized they werent open until 8am on weekends ........ super nice facility needs more hours hopefully soon. Because 8am is late to me haha.

I think the location is well equipped and the staff good. Ive used LA Fitness all over the country (from Texas to Ohio) and believe there are better options in the market place. If you change your debit card they are quick to call you to continue their revenue stream but no follow-ups when you have other issues. In Texas one attended tried to pull me off a spin bike because the desk was busy and I didnt check in. He followed me to my class .... I was astounded by the behavior and wrote to the company about it and never heard a thing. Big impersonal business that only cares to preserve their revenue. (I am no longer a customer)

Its a huge facility, with barely any workout equipment for weight training. An over abundance of cardio equipment. A lot of the equipment needs upgrading as well.

My new favorite place, after taking a year off I joined LA Fitness and man has it been great from the sales guy to the training team I have lost weight and toned up. I feel great and love coming here, thanks Maumee La Fitness team for changing my life.

The hours of operation ( most especially weekend hours) prior to the pandemic were asinine and not conducive to most working Americans with families.There are 8 gym/athletic centers nearby that are open 24 hours.It is no wonder this location is failing financially when the business model is aimed for the convenience of management . working hours are more for the unemployed portion of the population and those people Without families.I wasted two years of membership due to hours of operation.I would give 4 stars to the workers, 4 stars to the equipment, and 1 star to the management.When I first joined, on my second visit....the cardio theatre room was “ broken” for 3 weeks partly because the manager was on vacation. They don’t have an assistant?I get that an empty or nearly empty gym for that square footage of operation is losing dollars during THAT time. But instead, up your marketing and fill the gym across a larger spectrum of hours... especially during a pandemic when you shouldn’t have a population funnel because of greater viral spread.Aim your marketing towards healthcare professionals, parents, 2nd &3rd shift workers, and all the features that you have over the “mass marketed fluffy” gym companies. Geez, go out into every surrounding business and market a package for their workers. Your gym has more to offer and looks better/cleaner. There is no reason not to be able to grab a client base from all the businesses in a 3 mile radius. Do things to bring lasting clientele in and you can hire more employees and management to cover those extended hours.At least be open 5a-9p (10-11 p would be best 6 days a week)on weekends if you are not going to at least try to compete with area alternatives. Many families with kids have athletics and extracurricular activities ... so they need outside the box hours to workout for themselves.I looked this gym up as an option that is a half of a mile from my home when I saw the new name attached... but then I saw the same “ catered retail” hours posted so I will be checking out the other options. Again.It’s better to spreadpeople out throughout your open hours Anyways now that we have a pandemic . I repeat, Narrow business hours means more packed people and spread as it creates a heavy population funnel ... and it is just the nature of the industry ( panting lol)means heavy exhalation and aerosolized particulates in the air.

Dont make the mistake of joining this gym. Although the outside appearance is nice. The equipment looks like it hasnt been updated for years, is quite dingy and the customer service is terrible. I recently joined but soon found better options in the area with significantly better equipment for the same price. Trying to quit is where my problems started. On trip # 1 I my wife, as part of a joint account, was told that she could not cancel the account as I needed to be present to do it. On trip #2, I was told that I could not close the account as I had to do it in person from 9-5 M thru F even though I work those hours and originally signed up in the evening. After a argument from me, I was told that my account would be canceled with a note to the manager to call me later in the week. Two weeks later, after receiving no call, I noted that my credit card was still being charged my membership fee. So trip #3 commenced to get a refund. On trip #3, I was told that I could not get a refund unless I spoke to the manager who once again is not available by phone and can only be seen during the week from 9 -5. Later this week I will be at 4 trips to simply cancel my membership. Most businesses typically try to part on good term to win back potential future business. Not the clueless folks here!

LA Fitness let my Wife and I work out there for free for two weeks as we were home from WA where I serve in the military. They were very understanding and courteous! They have more than enough gym equipment and a very clean facility. My only critique is I wish they had more than one free weighted squat rack! Thanks LA Fitness!

Leg extension, cable leg press, and tbar row machine have been out of for several months. I ask the guy on the front desk, in a rude manner says the technician will need to take a look. I ask when, he just repeats the same thing. Not a good gym. Also there is only 1 squat rack

Listen the gym is fine and the staff at the gym are also fine, but I have had way too much trouble dealing with this company. They literally just want your money, to over charge for everything and not do what they said they will. Would not recommend.

I would go to another gym in the area if I was you. I was a member here for about a year pretty much because they trapped me in with the contract. The gym never got a new piece of equipment my whole time there and probably only was cleaned a handful of times within my year there. Its dirty, the locker room smells, the sauna never reaches full temperature, they only have 1 squat rack, machines break and stay broken for weeks, they dont even have a machine that fills up water bottles. Out of all the members that belong here, I personally never saw $1 go back into the gym.. I dont understand where all the membership fees go to. I could go on and on why this is a bad club. Then, i tried to cancel my membership and the staff refused to get back with me and tried making me jump through a bunch of loops to do so. Dont support this gym.Join Maxx fitness, they actually care about their members

Ive been a member for 3 years. Top notch free classes with great instructors. The equipment is kept up really well. Pool is a huge bonus. Avoid rush hour if possible because it has become very packed as of late. There are some jocks who hog equipment but its definitely worth what you pay for a quality gym

I recently visited this gym NOT joined and I was extremely disappointed. My first initial impression of the young lady checking customers in was terrible. She was rude, disrespectful and just very nasty I felt. You would think since she was getting me checked in she would at least try to put on a happy face since I was visiting there gym but that wasnt the case. I proceeded to tell the gm and he had a issue nonchalant attitude, and told me to pass the information on to someone else...Which I understand businesses have a system as to how they run their company. But he was very nonchalant. And Im sure the young woman did not receive any correction. Also...the equipment looks very out of date to the point of rusting. I was on a machine and did not feel safe at all. The hours are not the best prefer something that is 24 hours and the price.....no comment. I hope this helps...Customer service is so important no matter where you work and we all deal with customers that are difficult no matter the job. But a customer should never be disrespected because your having a bad day or whatever the reason is. I really hope they are able to get their staff in order.

Got ripped off Of my membership monthly. I called and asked for a quote to add a membership into the account and I refused and turn it down somehow it charge me in my account for three months. I Called to ask for Reimbursement back to the accounts but it have never been handled. Could not charge people without signing the contract The associates too greedy just want people money and it’s hard to get it back. Don’t like the way they handle the business there. Definitely not recommend this place.

I have been a member since it started. Never wait for any equipment and always feel comfortable with workouts. The facility accommodates everyones needs. Have met some very nice people and can work out when convenient for me from 5:30 AM to 11 PM.

Pretty nice for a gym. Many, many machines and equipment for working out. Comfortable ladies locker room. Very clean. Hundreds of tvs, many that no one ever looks at.

The facilities are clean and the equipment is excellent. Kids zone makes it easy to get a workout in when you have kids. Offers a vast assortment of machines, so finding an available treadmill is easy. The facility has excellent natural daylight from large windows that give the gym a nice energy during the day.

Get another squat rack and Ill give it a 5 star.

Manager is rude and I wish I could get my money back for my 1 year paid in advance membership (purchased from another LA Fitness before I moved back to Ohio). Atmosphere used to be good, but the place has gone down hill. Equipment is dirty and a few are broken. Seems like everybody is switching to Maxx fitness because it’s close by, new, cheaper and clean. Hope this helps.

Its a chill place to get a good workout in and they have a lot of equipment to work with. Also, you can go to any class that they have going on at the moment. With no extra charge! There is a lot of good stuff that they offer, but there are cheaper gymnasiums out there. However, you do get what you pay for.

Very nice gym! Fair price and even has a theater so you can watch a movie in a dark room while walking on the treadmill. Quality place to get a great workout and excellent staff to help out with fitness goals !

Will was so helpful in the registration process making it convenient to sign up from home via email. The movie room at this specific location was so cool and unique. Definitely recommend.

Completely disappointed. I was impressed with this place when I first joined, but when you need to cancel thats when it is sketchy. I called and stated to the girl I wanted to cancel my membership. I was advised it would be taken care of over phone. I also asked if Id be billed for the next month since I wasnt entirely too sure how close I was to the next payment date. Was told I would get a call back but didnt. Decided to not worry and expect that payment. Then the month after that next month I was hit with another payment. I called and was advised by someone else I could only come in person to cancel, and this girl had falsely documented that she had told me of the cancellation policy. All in all it fell on me even though i wasnt advised of the correct procedure when I called. Make sure you read the fine print when you sign up is basically all I got. Also if they tell you the initial and then monthly fees are all you have to expect, think again. I was even told by an employee they are not supposed to tell about an extra charge they do after a year. Youre supposed to read the fine print to know that too. Fooled me even after I thought I asked the right questions. They just avoid the full answers.

Good variety of equipment, classes, and separate ladies area. It has a 3 lane pool, sauna, clean locker room with showers, and personal training for additional cost. Overall good facility.

Every LA Fitness should be like this one. All new equipment, a lot of space, womens only section, a theater room, plus racquetball and pool area. The showers are awesome too! Glad I stopped here!

I am a member at LA Ditess in Maumee Ohio. This would be a good place to workput if they have the equipment i need but they do not. I need the exercise bike that you sit down in as opposed on, as i have back trouble on all and connot use the other bikes. They only have three here and they are always taken and i can not often complete my workout. I asked the manager about this and the possibility of getting more and the response was what we have is ehat we have. NO WILLINGNESS TO LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER AT ALL. I will be finding another gym that actually cares about their members.

This is my home gym although I go to LA Fitness gyms ALL over the country as I travel constantly. I love this gym. The staff are nicer, more patient and compassionate than any I have seen anywhere in the country. The ones who clean do a wonderful job--its near immaculate. The pool is warm and clean and never crowded. The cardio machines all have their own TVs with tons and tons of cable channels to watch. They have one of those movie theatre cardio rooms with a different film playing every day. They also have a special workout room for women only which is very well equipped. I could go on and on--its a fantastic gym. My only SLIGHT complaints are that they close early on weekends and Fridays, and that they dont have a hot tub, and the water pressure in the showers is really terrible. -M. Miller

Ive worked out at several gyms in the Toledo area, and by far LA Fitness gets my vote as the areas top gym! All the machines and weights you could dream of, and their staff is always super helpful and polite. The cost of membership is definitely fair, and I love that they are open till 11 PM during the week!

This is a place where you can really diversify your workout. Compared to any other gym, LA surpasses all with a great selection of equipment, classes, pool, sauna, movie cardio room, kids klub and many other amenities offered with the purchase of a membership. The staff is always patient, friendly, and upbeat. There mission is stood by strongly as they really are passionate about your fitness results. I would not choose any other gym in the country to workout at in order to achieve professional results.

Large facility. Have only a fair amount of class offerings. Some great instructors and some not so great. Need to update and maintain equipment better.

Was pretty disappointed with the customer service. Im a member at the other location, but that wasnt an issue with the lady at the front who let me in at this location with no issues. The next day, the man at the front told me it would cost $5 dollars to enter, which wasnt a big deal. But making me wait ten minutes to check me in, only to telling me they didnt have change for $10 was ridiculous. Didnt bother asking the manager or anything for some cash change. Do you guys really not carry cash for cases like this?

I am a member, but I will not continue at this facility. The ladies locker room was filthy! The showers and bathrooms looked as if they had not been cleaned for days. The carpet in the workout area was dirty, and the machines had not been cleaned recently. The floor in the free weight area was torn and was unsafe. I used the pool, but only because I was assured by another member that it had been cleaned that morning. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Definitely not what I expect from LA Fitness!

I have been going to LAFitness for years! Both Maumee and Toledo locations. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. I always get a great workout in and there is so much to do. The track to run on is always a major plus!

I dislike the fact that there is only one squat rack - that isnt a Smith Machine - and very few free weights.I prefer the Holland location for this reason.This seems to better suit those in the immediate area as it is rarely busy, but if the squat rack is under maintenance for any reason and I refuse to use a Smith my regimen is botched.

Allowed me to get a trial at the gym to experience what it’s all about. Great customer service!

Extremely clean and a HUGE number of workout options. Theres a lap pool, weight room, track, a room with exercise equipment and a running movie (continuously run a different movie every day), and a LARGE assortment of equipment and workout tools.

Facility is ok,but very rude Operations manager ( he has been there many years) horrible people and managerial skills. I believe his name is Joe.I am tired of going to use equipment and there is a sign on it that it is out of service.A machine can not be fixed for months.

Went for a day pass, which cost $15, and walked out after about 10 minutes. The lady at the front desk was nice, after that not so much.There are so many better options out there.

I love working out here theres more machines than you could ask for and its very clean. The staff is always more than willing to help and there are so many different classes offered.

Make sure you read the fine print in the contract you sign with this specific LA Fitness in Maumee because they will take money out of your account without your knowledge on dates they did not discuss with you. I was charged twice in the same month for my membership and when I saw the extra charge on my account the sales manager was extremely rude and refused to refund my money. Do not sign a contract with this LA Fitness.

Joe the operations manager is rude, has no customer service skills at all. The rest of the staff is friendly. Who ever hired Joe really dropped the ball with hiring someone with customer service skills.

After joining, they decided to shut down whole areas of the gym unless you pay outrageous fees for personal trainers. In watching these trainers, it is apparent they do not know what they are doing. The areas shut off also have equipment unique to these areas...meaning they arent located anywhere else. Cant wait til Maxx Fitness opens...and it will save me $20 a month.

I prefer this location to Toledo. The dont carry paper towels and shouldve hairy dryer in men locker room

Great selection of equipment here and many rooms to work out in. Not as busy as the Central Ave one so its quieter and more private feeling. Generally clean everywhere, including the locker room.

Nice place a lot of things to do I love that they have a sauna and pool. But one thing I dont like They close to early they can at least close at 1am every day then close at 11pm on Saturday Sunday that would be nice if they did.

Ive never met disrespectful people like the manager and one of his coworkers that has a little muscle. LA Fitness, please make sure you hire the people who make you earn more money, not people who let the customers hate this gym. Additionally, the manager was making new rules that are different than LA Fitness rules. My advise to anyone who wants to get a memebrship that is way cheaper and way respectful staff plus it is 24/7, you have the best option which is Planet Fitness. It is a very long story that has happened with the manager and his spoiling muscular kid😜. Reviews through Yellew Pages, My time, Facebook and other websites have enough real reviews to show the real color of this gym.

Ive been here since it was Urban Active. Love the facility, reasonable membership cost.

I did a 5 day trial of this gym, had to meet with a sales person and discuss my intentions before he let us work out. Gym is nothing special. There is a lot of equipment, most of the freeweights are old and some broken, but not in the good warehouse gym type way. In the people dont take care of things type of way. The freeweights area was dirty every day I went.The sales guy will not stop calling me now more than a month later. I had to block their number.

I just wanna say what is in my heart and what I feel about the experience I have had in Maumee La Fitness, I had been working out for so long and one of my relatives came to my town for visting and I had told him to join my work out with the Week Card Pass. Unfortunately, one of the staff was yelling and screming so loud with no respectful asking us to leave by saying some bad words and so loud voice. What made me sad is that I showed a great picture about Maumee LA Fitness although that staff with a big body in the manger section had showed that the opposite is the truth.I still love LA Fitness but that was the only not good thing and embarrassing moment.

My family was a part of this gym for 4 years. I left the country for half a year, and came back. We had cancelled our membership, but we were told that if we swiped our cards, the membership would be reinstated. I tried to do this upon returning to the states, and was confronted by an extremely rude employee telling me I could not. We called the gym to see what the issue was, and were told that it would cost $100 for reinstatement. The gym offered no apology for the rude employee. Anyways, a lot of the equipment is old, worn down, and obnoxiously squeaky. I won’t be returning.

Alot of equipment & bathrooms where clean thats a plus

I have had a membership here for 3 years and no mater how much I call and complain THE STAFF DOES NOT CLEAN. My husband and I went to planet fitness b4 la fitness and I can say Planet fitness is the cleanest by far. The employees are always cleaning at planet. We chose to go to LA bc of the wieght sizes for my husband and classes for me but I have noticed that u dont see not one employee clean. I have said something to the staff and the Mgr and they state that they clean everyday. But thats a JOKE. I take the fitness classes and everyday I go in the the floor that we have to lay on sometime is so filthy. Now they do offer mats but they get put on a filthy floor multiple times on both sides and I know dang well the mats r never cleaned. They r probably worse then the floor. And the same dust bunny with a rad string and hair in it has been flying around for weeks. I even call the customer service line and supposably they told the Mgr to clean but they still dont. I even told the Mgr that I will come in early and do the floor myself and if he could just leave the dust mop out. And he said that I dont have to bc they clean. Im just going to assume that they dont have one. You never see any cleaning product here other then on the wall that the JOCKS are supposed to use on the equipment after they put their nasty sweaty self on it. Like goodness forbid u wipe something down! There are more cons to this place then I am stating like the equipment is getting old and some needs to be replaced, that the staff is not friendly or helpful at all, and that the sales reps get u to sign up and dont tell u somethings that u should know and tell u thing that r lies but Im not going to waste more time. Now I understand that some ppl say this is a great gym but this is what my husband and I see every time we go in, and this is my opinion of the gym, u take it how u want and make ur choice, u can join but dont expect much....I am on the look out for a better gym that is clean and u should to b4 u give them ur money. Until then I will keep seeing my hairy red string dust bunny friend! I think I will name him Harry! 😂 Hes getting bigger every day.. SMH! LMFAO!
