I’ve been studying Martial Arts all my life and stopped for a while due to life, career, and injury. In my 20s I was competing in competition and pushing myself to the limit. Martial Arts taught me to believe in myself. It’s like no other “sport”. Your teacher and Martial Arts enthusiast community is the key to success. Master Cooper and Master Red are dedicated to their students and I highly recommend this school. Although, I am no longer competing I am studying Martial Arts just because it’s part of me. I am able to go at a pace that is comfortable for me and Master Cooper has accommodate some of my limitations from prior injuries. Another great thing is that you can participate in person or over zoom.

Great instructors that instill the importance of goal setting, discipline and respect, all in a high energy environment. Ive notice a positive change in my daughters listening skills and confidence after just one month. Highly recommend!!

A great Marlborough business! One of our sons in not inclined to do team sports so we thought wed give martial arts a try. NEMA has been perfect for him. My son has been enthusiasticly learning some Korean words and phrases as well as the physical elements of taekwondo combat. I love how seriously Master Cooper and Master Red take their roles and how disciplined they require not just the kids to be but the parents as well. Dont expect to break school rules or sit passively behind your cell phone without hearing about it! Personally, I really appreciate the passion Master Cooper has for teaching the kids (and parents) some important life lessons in addition to the way of hand and foot. And of course earning each new belt and witnessing the respect you get as you go up in the hierarchy is also a great way for younger kids to visualize their own progress and stay motivated. We expect to be part of the NEMA family for years to come!

I highly recommend New England Martial Arts in Marlborough. My boys (3 & 6) joined the school in January 2019. They are completely different kids where the oldest needs to learn discipline and respect while the youngest needs to improve on balance and confidence.I absolutely love this school and all of the instructors. My boys have been improving in their goals. The 2 classes a week all year make it a normal routine and a great structured program improves the kids overall physique and confidence.Highly recommend and always grateful.

I would highly recommend new England martial arts! My son almost 5 years old joined a couple of weeks ago and it was the best thing. Master Cooper and master Red are the nicest people and truly are great with kids. Mr. Cooper noticed my son needed a bit of help with coordination and he has already been improving and has increased his confidence in doing more things now. He says Im a ninja now 😂

I’m so happy our daughter has been training with Master Cooper here for the last year. I’ve seen huge increases in confidence and physical fitness. Also emotionally she is more stable, (probably from actually enjoying exercise.) the program emphasizes fitness as much as respect and skill which I think is important. She wasn’t getting any fitness from Ballet or Gymnastics and I think this sort of program is essential for little girls to build strength and confidence. Lastly, this place is clean and high energy and easy to get in and out of. Overall a great business and program.

Master Cooper is an incredible martial arts instructor. He puts his heart and soul into his work and instructing his students. He has just enough patience, but makes sure his students EARN their next belt and not just given. My son has been coming to NEMA for almost a year and has grown not only physically but emotionally and mentally. Master Red is the glue that holds it together and always greets you with a smile.

Wow! I started about 6 weeks ago. I am not only having fun, but I am amazed at how much better I feel in such a short time. The staff is great, very friendly, and helpful. Their instruction is easy to follow. The short interval rotation between the kickboxing bag and exercise keeps my interest and keeps me motivated. I highly recommend to everyone.

This center is amazing. Although they have their moments, like all kids, my 5 year old twins LOVE Master Cooper and truly listen/absorb what he tells them. Master Cooper is so patient with each of the kids, regardless of attention span/skill/confidence level. I love that he begins teaching discipline, confidence in yourself and respect at such a young age. These skills are transferable to every aspect of life and this is a wonderful place to learning them.

Great place. First off, the place is clean and staff members are professional. My kids love it. Excellent drills that challenge the students. It keeps my kids interested and they both want to keep coming back for more. The schedules are extremely flexible, which allows for makeup classes a no brainer. Ive known Cooper for 8 years. I used to take classes with him even during my first pregnancy. When I decided to look for a place for my daughter I got in touch with him and he responded right away. Just started taking Combat Kickboxing classes with my daughter. We are getting so much out of just a few classes. Its hard work but the fast pace makes it fun and the skills we learn are valuable for self defense. We loving going to class and improving every week makes it even more rewarding.

Updating my review six years later! I am both an instructor and a student of this martial arts school. The culture here is one of a big family. Kids learn important life skills that are not taught elsewhere. Even with COVID precautions in place we get to exercise and have fun while doing it. If you have always wanted to try martial arts, you should come down and try a class!

I signed my youngest up for one of their trials with Master Cooper and she LOVED it! She learned so much in such a short period of time. Our major concern with our daughter was her respect and discipline. With Master Cooper directing her, within 2 weeks we started to see an improvement. We decided to stick with it and see how far she would come. It has been almost 5 month and she is doing wonderful! We, as a family, also decided to start with Red doing her kickboxing classes. If you are hoping your child will learn how to defend themselves, they wont. They will learn SO much more!!!!We signed our son up (who is undersized) after he was dealing with continual bullying at school and sports camp. His introduction to the school was a 1 on 1 review with master cooper where his values and approach was made very clear to me.Master Cooper in two weeks has transformed my child but not how I first expected. He has taught him to respect the art, that he will demand 100% effort, and that he will make it fun along the way. But what he taught him about respecting the family, honesty, and integrity has been the best part about by far. At home when he is asked to do something we are no longer met with ok, or in a minute, his response is a stern Yes dad or Yes mom.In closing if you are looking to teach your child how to beat people up, find another instructor. If you want your child to learn how to defend themselves, become more confident so they can avoid conflict but have the tools to defend themselves while learning respect Master Cooper is the best Ive seen. So much so that I will soon be a student myself.

Facility is large and well designed, VERY CLEAN, no funny smells, well air-conditioned. Management & instructors know their martial arts - they been at it for a long time and are properly registered in World Taekwondo Federation - which is the only OLYMPIC federation accepted across the globe, they behave highly professional, super-friendly and good with students of all ages, they instill CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, LIFE skills & DISCIPLINE - and can go to competitive level if interested and work hard - this is not a daycare or playground - which is very refreshing comparing to most other places. I was happy with the classes until the style was changed on me three months into the program. I was unable to attend the classes on the new schedule that Muay Thai was moved to. Overall, the facility is awesome; large, clean, and well equipped. The classes are good and the instructors are knowledgeable in their craft, friendly, and helpful. The main takeaway is the price of the classes and the payment structure/contract. Just be sure to fully understand everything in the contract you sign.

Im so glad I found NEMA. Ive been taking kickboxing for two years and have enjoyed every minute. The classes offer a great workout and an awareness of self-defense techniques. We researched several martial arts schools to put our son in. We live in Framingham and were looking for something close to home but a friend told us about New England Martial Arts in Marlboro. We made the drive out there and realized it wasnt that far. We couldnt be happier and every class is the highlight of our boys week! My two kids attend this school and absolutely love it! Master Cooper has a great way of engaging kids and adults by making this educational experience positive, informative and great boost to self esteem. Definitely recommend to come in and see what they are all about!

Our family loves NEMA! It is very family oriented and teaches good values. Master Copper, Red, and the other instructors are all amazing! All 3 of my children attend and look forward to class twice a week. I have noticed a huge change in my children at home. We have been going for over 2 months now and my son lovessss coming here. He loves his class and his instructors and he is always super excited to go. i am so excited for the future and on what more he is going to learn from this amazing class. I have know Master Cooper since we were kids, truly there are very few people out there as motivated,out going,with such character and disposition to teach martial arts!I am extremely grateful and honored to have know him and his family all of these years, the new facility is only one more step towards bringing the martial arts world to a new level, a level that can and will bring the first timer to a better sense of compassion, community mixed with assertiveness and competiveness!

My husband and I have talked about having our 2 boys 8 & 6 years old start taking Martial Arts. But as all parents we got too busy and just never made the time. After seeing an ad on FB about NEMA I figured lets give it a try. Thank goodness we did. This school is amazing. They look at each kid as an individual and teach to the child. If one is struggling they put in the time to help. There open floor policy is great. Parents can participate in a class with there kids or just step in when they see their child just needs that extra support. This is great to help them adjust. They dont only teach martial arts but also how they can be safe in the crazy world we live in today. Master Cooper and his team not only teach the kids but they also teach the parents. I would recommend this school to everyone I know. My kids love coming, even after a full day at camp on a 90 degree day they cannot wait to put on their uniform, belt and go to class.
