Absolutely horrible service. for 3 freaking years everyday, my internet would just cut out, for hours at a time. no explanation was ever offered. even after updating my router. I still had horrible connection. I have suffered at the hands of these hooligans for far to long. I am literally getting far better connection from my mobile hotspot. Do not buy from them. Also Robert shut up youre wrong 4 stars too high smh.
My internet has been going out for 2 1/2 weeks, Ive contacted frontier through many avenues, online support, sales office, automated calls, technicians and repeatedly get passed off onto someone else. Ive spoken to ONE helpful tech who actually listened to my problem. They scheduled an appt. about two weeks later, which was unacceptable to me as this problem has been ongoing for 2 weeks already. Please train your employees to be attentive and helpful. Im at the end of my rope.
Two times in the past 3 months, Frontier has had an outage in our area. The first time, it took them over 3 days to bother coming out to look at the main service box for the area. A car had crashed into it, so they tossed a tarp over it.Now, we are at 45 hours and counting with no service, we have two lines to our house and when we call or email about it we get the “we’re working on it and have no estimated time frame.” They assigned an account manager to our an account one hour before she left the office for 4 days! They refuse to assign an account manager that is actually in the office.My disabled mother counts on internet for her heart monitor, my kids do school online, Frontier is not reliable and they don’t care about service or customers.

After waiting two weeks for a technician to come connect my service, four guys show up on a Friday afternoon, in a hurry to start their weekend, and they screw it up. Now, Ive been told theres an issue thatll have to wait till Monday to figure out.What bull.
I been a customer for 8 years and the internet has been inconsistent. There were times when literally the internet would go out 3 times a day or the internet would be just fine. But recently it’s been worse than McDonald’s WiFi and there customer service is terrible. I would not recommend this internet company. The only reason I haven’t switched to another internet company is because all the internet companies in southern Illinois are just as bad. Oh btw when I’m on my Xbox and Ps4 the router is right by both of the consoles but I still have unreliable internet speed and I still lag.
The bill has ALWAYS been higher than the original quote I was given several years ago at Time of installation. It is extremely slow and many times does not work at all. I would change providers but Frontier is the only option in the area I live in.

Dealing with Frontier communications has been nothing but a migraine headache in southern Illinois. Weve been trying to install a phone line to the house from the phone post across the street for 2 1/2 months. It was finally brought to the house last week but instead of staying within the easement parallel to the road they trenched around the house and across our septic line. This was done because the workers forgot to put on the truck the tool that allows them to trench under our driveway. Yes, I know that cell phone is taking over the landline in the U.S. But past experience says that when the cell towers go down or you lose power, you lose your cell phone capabilities. Your landline will still work. If we had any other landline options other than VOIP we would most definitely switch companies. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. total lack of communication within the company. The joke has become, How many Frontier Communication technicians does it take to bring a landline to our house from across the street? Answer: 4 and counting.
Worst ISP Ive ever had. I cant wait to move somewhere that has more service options because right now where I am its frontier or nothing and nothing is that we pay for essentially. Cant wait to get another ISP. Please stay away from frontier if possible
If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. I was told on multiple occasions I could upgrade my package only each time to be told by the technician that I could not. I was offered a second router that they said would give me at least 6 extra gigs only for the technician to tell me it would only give me one extra and cost $30 extra dollars a month. My internet has only worked for about a week and I have been with frontier for about 2 months. I called billing and they said they would take the first month off my bill. That apparently didn’t happen because I just got my first and second months bill. When I called I was told a supervisor would be in touch but no one called. I called again about a week later and again someone said they would be in touch. Guess who never received a phone call. I call and ask to talk to a supervisor today and she says that no one put any notes on my account about taking off the first months bill and that I have service. I HAVE NOT HAD INTERNET FOR BASICALLY 2 MONTH, I HAVE NO SERVICE. she then said I still have to pay my bill after hearing about the terrible service I have received because that note wasn’t put on my account so apparently it’s my fault. Great customer service!

HOWEVER, they continued to bill me for two months. and when I refused to pay it they sent it to a debt collector! when I call to ask about it they wont talk to Me and say sorry the account is closed we cant transfer you to a manager. This level of terrible customer service and accounting ability is horrendous! they should not be allowed to be in business!

Terrible service. Daily, DAILY outages that last anywhere from a few minutes to a few days. Every time I call I get the same response. “Have you tried unplugging your modem?” Yes, it didn’t work. “Ok sir. I am scheduling a technician to come to your house two weeks from now. Does that work for you?” No, it doesn’t work! I am a full time student and depend heavily on the internet for my classes. There have been times when the internet will go out while I’m working on an assignment and I’ll have to go sit in the parking lot of a business that has free WiFi, just so I can do my homework. My question for Frontier is, so you even care? A majority of your customers rely on the internet now more than ever for work and school. Too bad this is the only company that provides rural internet in my area
If I didn’t have data on my phone, I’d never be able to get on the internet. I pay $50/mo so that I can lose connection one room away from my router, so that my TV buffers if I try to get on my laptop at the same time it’s running, and so that if I want to upload my homework online I have to shut off my TV and phone and the file still takes 15-45 minutes to go through.
This has got to be the most unreliable company of all. You loose service, it takes days for help to arrive, and in the meantime you pay for service that you dont have. Repairs are nothing but them putting a bandaid on the problem
Terrible customer service. My internet began going out during rain storms immediately following installation. I lost service 11 times over a month long timeframe. When I finally contacted technical support, these times were verified by the technician Gustavo Meza, and I was told by him that after the issue was resolved I could contact billing to be credited for all outages. I was scheduled a service date.The day of my service appointment I received a text to inform me that the issue had been resolved remotely. Great. Later that day I contacted billing. I was told by Romain, the billing representative, that they were only able to verify an outage of three days, basically from the time I called to complain about my outages until the day of so called resolution of the problem. All the records of outage days and hours I had previously, only a few day earlier, been given through technical support, had somehow completely vanished from the records.Basically, I was being lied to by billing. Romain would not put me through to a supervisor when requested by me to do so, claiming they were all busy. He told me that I could not receive credit unless I myself was able to verify with technical support all the outage days and times. I had already done this a few days before with Gustavo, who assured me multiple times upon my request that he would put all that documentation in my file along with the service ticket. So I was back at square one.After being on the phone for over one hour and on hold multiple times, a supervisor was finally transferred to me. We spoke and she confirmed that she was unable to acquire dates and times of my service outages from technical support. When I asked her her name she hung up the phone! I promptly re-called technical support and was able to acquire exact dates of my internet outages within minutes. Appalling that billing claimed to not be able to do so. I was then transferred from technical support to customer support, outage dates in tow. I was then given credit, via a customer support representative, for all 11 days of no service. Bingo, something billing could not/would not of themselves accomplish.I have put in a formal complaint and a request that phone recordings be pulled to verify the poor customer service I have received, especially in regards to the supervisor. I await a follow-up to confirm the resolution of my complaint against the supervisor in billing.
Speeds are only a fraction of what you pay for with frequent outages and very cheap flimsy equipment. Customer service is a joke. Twice we requested techs come to fix our service and nobody ever showed up, which cost us time off work for nothing. And of course, more days and weeks with no service that we still had to pay for.Now we have canceled them. But 2 months later our balance continues to go up with nothing showing up online to reflect our most recent bill or payment history. We NO LONGER HAVE THE SERVICE, paid the final bill, but were still being charged! The entire account history is wiped out so we cant even see what theyre trying to charge us for.All attempts to reach them by phone result in a hang up every time we request billing in the automated menu. Attempts to speak to anyone else result in being transferred immediately and a hang up.Please please please save yourself the experience of throwing your money away and getting ripped off. And thats exactly what this company does. It will rip you off.

Seems company has no problem cotacting customers about their receiving payment, but yet cant provide adequate service. I am a college student and never have service for more than a couple minutes or there is an outage. So, maybe provide a more consistent service and maybe your bill would hold a higher priority.

After 3 days of no service and persons in another country telling me there is an outage in your area, I emailed the FCC. Got a response from them next working day and a response from Frontier that afternoon. Repairman was out the next day. Its a shame that this is apparently the only way to get service. Contact your FCC!
Im only giving one star because 0 is not an option I have spent so much time on hold with customer service I feel like I should be an employee. More often than not I get transferred and The Times that I dont I get a message saying things for calling and hung up on. I have had none of my issues resolved the only thing that is consistent is they remember to send a bill
I have been without service for pushing close to a week. My service date has been moved around and they refuse to try to get me the help I need. I have been hung upon, I have been told my issue is fixed and it has not been. I have been given different info each time I call and the customer service has been rude and condescending. I have reported them once to the BBB and will get filing a second complaint today. Mediacom is more expensive but if this is how Frontier handles their customers I will gladly pay more. My wife and I work in healthcare and education and this is affecting our jobs to where I cant even work. My job is going be in jeapordy. I am beyond done with them.

I am trying to a return a router that was sent to me for no good reason. I did not request it. Someone at Frontier just did it. I cannot get customer service to send me a return label so that I can send it back. This morning, I called Frontier in Marion to ask them if they could send me a label and I was told they could not. Plus, the young woman I was talking to - hung up on me twice. What kind of company is this? Is this the new work force? Hang up on customers you dont want to help?

I had virtually no service the last 3 months of having Frontier. I called multiple times to complain but was told it was due to congestion and they could do nothing about it. We used the hotspot on my phone for those remaining few months. When the final bill came I paid two-thirds of it and sent correspondence showing the overage that I had to pay for my hotspot use, and felt like I do not know the remainder. I received a letter back saying that the total must be paid or it would be sent to collections. I then called and was on the phone with them over 45 minutes but was told that they showed no calls from me since 2014 complaining about their service and had never opened a ticket! Therefore they were unwilling to make an adjustment. The representative said that he could see the many disruptions in service but that wasnt enough. Terrible!!

Called a month before my move to switch my service to new home. Service guy never showed up even after I got a text saying he would be there called set up another apt got the text and never showed up. On calling them they played hot potato with me passing me from department to department eventually transferred to tech support 2.5 hour hold. They had no Idea why they sent me to them. All in all over 5 hours on the phone no shows on 3 apts and no answers. Everyone around me said they cant even stream with the service and switched. I canceled.
My max speed is 9mb available in my area. I have 2 devices (cell,firestick) and if Im watching TV I cant connect my cell. When I pull up my account it says I have NO INTERNET!! Ive submitted 3 troubletickets and have NEVER been contacted. Also when creating my online billing account I had to create a new email address because I tried all 4 of my current emails and it keeps saying they were already connected to a account!? Im setup up for paperless billing but NEVER recieve a bill.*******NOT RECOMMENDED********I gave 2 stars because although the Customer service is incompetent they are polite.

The worst service that I found ever in my life. Within a year, Internet disconnected more than 10 time and each time they take more than 2 week to repair. Lately, they even didnt repair and gave very vague reasons, outage in your area and even they dont know how long it will take to repair. Already more than a week. With in 2 days everything can be fixed but frontier even cant fix the simple Internet problem.
Had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau today.After MONTHS of trying to get not only the internet speeds Im paying for, but internet at all, they offer no help at all. You are given appointments that you have to wait a week and a half for some hillbilly to show up and tell me the boxes down the road that are destroyed look fine to him.The only thing high speed about Frontier Internet are their bill collectors. Totally on the ball when it comes to that.

If it was possible to only give one star that is what I would have rated. I upgraded my internet due to paying for 6 and not even getting 1 download speed. Upgrade to 18 and was able to get 14 download speed for two days. Now we have been without internet for a week and yes it takes that long for them to schedule a tech to come and try to fix it. I have never been so frustrated with a company and I have been a loyal customer of Frontier since 2012. They definitely need some training in customer service. Apologies are nice but unfortunately them apologizing does not make my internet work!
A 1 star is too good for them. I called and set up an appointment for someone to install my internet. They gave me a FOUR HOUR window for them to come, and never showed. When I called, the woman basically told me I had never made an appointment, which was wrong. So I rescheduled for another time, and again I was given a 4 hour window, and again nobody showed up. We had wasted our day waiting for them. I cancelled my service with them. Soon after, against my advice, my parents arranged to have someone install internet. They were given a four hour window, and AGAIN NOBODY SHOWED UP its honestly ridiculous.
I have been trying to get someone from frontier to change out one of their utility poles since July 30th the pole is literally rotting out in the ground, I have made at least 20 calls and have been either on hold or actually talking to someone between 10&12 hours, I am at my wits end, I have four grandkids that live here, and the pole is so unstable media com wouldnt touch it, guy said hed have to wait for a truck with a bucket, now they are telling me they wont be out until the 15th, I even told them on phone to have tech call me when he was coming, according to them they did but I received no call and the time the tech said he was here he lied we were here, I have also informed them I have pictures to prove that if it falls they cant claim it as an act of God, I just hope it doesnt fall on anyone, property can be replaced, children, and other people cannot, so I would advise anyone thinking about getting frontier as a carrier, think hard about it, from my experience with them I wouldnt have their service if they paid me to. The are a very inadequate company the numbers that you call give you 2 options if a customer press3, or if you want to set up service press4, those are your options, so if you like getting runaround go ahead and get Frontier, but the people I know that have them are not happy with the service they get either, I will never get Frontier for anything, I wouldnt even give them a 1 star rating, but I had to in order to post this in my opinion Id rate them at a -10 star. THEY REALLY DO SUCK!!!!!😠

They have THE WORST customer service! I was given a install date for today between 8am and 12pm. That time came and went. I called they said they had no install date for me. I told them to cancell and refund me. They said ok and hung up I have a confirmation email with the install date. They deserve 0 stars but thats not an option.

I have been a customer for over a year and when moving to a new home wanted to continue my services with the company. I set up an appointment to have a technician come out to move my services and was told someone would be here between 8-5 Monday. I took off work and sat at home waiting for 8 hours. When I hadnt heard from anyone by 4 I called and spent 30 minutes on the phone with a customer service rep who said there was no record of my phone call. After much arguing she finally discovered the issue, that my account had been placed on hold because they needed a deposit to move my services. This was never mentioned in the first phone call and I was never notified of any issues. She told me the soonest they could be out was Wednesday which didnt work for me as I dont have unlimited days to take off work and wait around for no one to show up. After telling her Id be looking for a new service provider she magically found an opening in Tuesdays schedule. I paid the deposit and was assured someone would be out Tuesday between 8-5 for the service. Tuesday morning I still havent heard from anyone so I call to double check and YET AGAIN there is no record of this happening. My account has been charged the deposit but the customer service rep cant find any info with any of my account numbers (Ive been assigned two new account numbers due to moving service) or the confirmation number I was given. After a 10 minute hold she comes back on the line to tell me I was scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday). I was VERY clear that Wednesday was not going to work and was blatantly lied to by yesterdays customer service rep. She assured me the date was for Tuesday!!! So after taking two days off of work to sit around and wait for nothing to happen and hours spent on the phone with these people I still have no internet.

When Isigned up and waited for my home install kit I provided all required of me and when I called back to check on my package they informed me it was being sent out that day. 5 business days later still no package, I called again to find out that I wouldnt be getting service because they were all tapped out. Two weeks after the phone call I was still receiving emails to finish my at home install?? What the heck, get your people together so the customer can be served correctly the first time and not draw out the horrible experience for three weeks. There is a demand for service but no supply, many tenants in this apartment building are sadly without internet. Way to miss out on more customers. -very VERY disappointed family.
Zero stars is the real rating. Frontier is the only isp in my area. I have had over 6 issues this year. It is only April. Their customer service is awful. Make sure you use the chat and get things in writing. For example our technician was late 6 hours and we called wondering where they were. We were told we would get a credit applied to our account. NEVER happened.They say youll recieve a credit on our account if you call. I never had any credit applied even though 35% of the time, my internet is down.Stay away from these crooks.
I wish I could give them zero stars. This company is the most unreliable, worthless, terrible customer service company I have ever dealt with. Dont walk but run from this internet provider! They will not fix problems with their service, they will lie and blame the customer or whomever they can and hope the problem goes away instead of doing their job and actually fixing the issues with their service. They are quick to take your money and promise you nternet speeds and service that they know they cant and wont provide. Go anywhere else but here for internet service if at all possible!
Internet just shuts off for no reason several times a day every day for past 5 years. They raise rates with out notice. Calling them for help is an enormous headache. Technicians look like meth addicts. Local female office workers useless and obese.
The worst internet ever will just stop working for 10 min. or so periodically throughout the day. I have never got the speed I’m paying for and I can’t wait for my contract to end to get rid of it. My advice is not to get it if there is any other option available.

Id only recommend this company is if you dont dowload anything online, game, or anything that required fast dowload speeds. Its not for the modern family. It works fine streaming videos. The speeds are inconsistent and sometimes just stops. If you only use the internet for facebook and online shopping sure this is for you. If not dont waste your money.
I worked at the Carbondale location a couple years ago and was shocked at how bad the training program was and how unprofessional the women who ran this office were. They refused to offer any concrete training, opting for joking with coworkers nonstop then verbally attacking anyone who asked questions or objected to the way they did things. It really isnt surprising when you read the reviews stating how horribly bad the customer reps are here.
What a Joke. Customer service is terrible. They act like you are bothering them because they screwed up the billing. Get transferred back and forth without being able to explain what was going on. They charged us for directory assistance when we dont even have a land line and then disconnected our service without notice. Spent just over an hour trying to get this issue fixed. Going to cancel my service and go with another option. I would not spend my hard earned money for this lack of service.
They promised one price and then a few months later jacked up the price by $5. Spoke with four different customer service reps, each one told me something different. The final man told me that there were different prices for different people. I said WHAT and how do I become one of those people? He didnt seem to have the answer for that question or really any of the questions I asked. I am going to start recording their answers so I can play them back to them just to prove what they told me. Ugh Internet service should not be this hard.
The worst internet service I have ever had. The whole 2 years we have had frontier has been nothing but problems! I’m a online student so trying to do classes with crapy internet is so stressful. Please do yourself a favor and do not get this internet provider!
I called frontier to up my internet package after setting up the appointment nobody showed up the day scheduled. After calling three more times I was then informed that they could not give me said package in my area. a note on file from the installer. When asked why the installer didnt call like they were supposed to I was told that they did call and left a note on my door. I had no missed calls all day and there was no note. Everyone at this company seems to be a liar. Very dissatisfied will never recommend.
Just had internet installed Jan 28th 2019.Today is Feb 7th and already had my internet stop working all of a sudden.I call and am told there is a short in my LAN.SERIOUSLY!!!And heres the best part.. they cant send anyone to fix it til Feb 11th. Are you kidding me???Great way to keep a customer.I spoke to someone (Sue) on their Facebook page. She was quite insistant that I give her my phone number and email address. I told her that information is on my account.I will be calling again this morning and demanding someone come out immediately or Ill be shoving their router up someones behind.
Constant disconnecting and reconnecting Internet. Absolutely horrible speeds even with the fastest package they offer. They dont even let you install your own modem and the professional installation people barely know what theyre doing and have the the worst most snooty attitudes Ive ever encountered amongst ISP.
Ive used other internet providers before, but none compare to the absolute worst internet provider Frontier. If the slightest touch of water doesnt destroy your connection a gust of wind might do it. If you want fast and consistent internet speed I deplore you to stay away from this absolute steaming pile of garbage.
How is it not possible to give a negative star review? Ive had this service for two years. The first year it was good... A few extra fees and what not, but I was getting the steady 10-13 Mbps I was paying for. The past year has NOT been this way. Several times an hour my signal will drop from that 10-13mbps down to about .002. this happens for 30 seconds or so and then back to normal. Good luck doing anything online with that. Streaming is terrible, browsing and media sure is impossible, online gaming? Forget about it. Ive called their tech support so many times I figured out all three hold songs they use on guitar and piano... The techs have been out 3 times. They wont send them out anymore and have told me its a congestion issue and theyre working on it. Okay? I pay for your service. When I signed up you didnt say Id get that service/speed only 90% of the time. Super frustrating to finally reach this conclusion. Ive spent HOURS of my own time working on an issue that was on their end the whole time. DO NOT GET FRONTIER INTERNET.
The absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Took 3 months to get internet transferred to new address. Talked to over 30 different people. Everyone claimed they were a supervisor. Super slow speeds. I have no other options where I live or I would switch in a heartbeat.

Terrible service and even more terrible customer service. My service never worked right the whole year I had it. Several technicians came out and never even made an attempt to fix it. Then they started charging to send a technician out who still did nothing to fix it. So I shut them off. I would rather go without internet then pay them.

Honestly the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I wanted to switch over from mediacom to save some money but the money that I would save is not worth it. Worst customer service. Theyll try to swindle you the heck out of you. I wasted 2 hours of my life on the phone with them. They were so rude. I dont trust this company and I hope it goes out of business.
Fraudulent Charges & No customer serviceFor months, I was being charged for 6gbs, but while scheduling a repair call, I was told that my area only receives 1gb of service, which meant that Frontier knowingly charged me for service I wasnt receiving. Theyve made no effort to rectify or reimburse.I could not reach anyone via online chat or calling the residential service number. I was told Id receive a call back in 5 minutes, but it was more like 30. could not access my account online because the website also worked poorly, as links and buttons take too long to load or never load at all.Customers take the lowest priority at frontier. To support their business is to say no one deserves honest, attentive service.
Dont bother with this service! Three months ago I was told I would have Intenet. Each week I called because the Internet was not working. I was told each time there was a bad line and it would be fixed in a couple of days. Not one service person has been out to fix the problem. Plus they continue to bill me for the service which I have not been able to use. Every time I call to talk to someone it takes over an hour out of my day and still nothing has been accomplished. My suggestion is to find some other provider because Frontier is a waste of time!
Awful communication skills. I had installation set to be installed twice, 2 different towns and both times wasnt notified of a cancellation due to no available ports. Once even after I had them check and was told 12 were available. They even rescheduled me to have it installed and to make sure I called 5 more times just to be told there was a mistake and it isnt available here. Ive been ran around for months and finally thought it would work out in the new town but no, they were even more confused when it shouldve been simple. Poor customer service skills, poor communication within the company. Terrible service overall and I wouldnt recommend.Oh and let me add, I took off of work both times just to have to wait around and make 14 calls to be transferred 20x and learn installation was cancelled. Im disgusted.
I called frontier to hook up service for me and time after time, this is after they supposedly hooked it up i never got service call after call after call after service techs that they sent out never could get service to my poll . this cont. on for nearly 2 months .then i got a bill in the mail for 200 dollars plus, and still had no service .what a joke! i finally had to call them and cancel the service. no internet.......
Horrible service. I am single and cant even get a connection when I am sitting right by my wifi box. I did everything they told me to do and still no connection. Then they tell me I need to upgrade because the signal isnt strong enough. HELLO!!!!! If I am paying 40.00 a month and cant even get on the internet one time I am sure not gonna upgrade. They will not send a tech out and any time I call they tell me the same exact thing and say they cant fix it unless I upgrade.
Dont have any complaints- service works as intended - I can watch Netflix and surf just fine with 3M service. Got a great monthly rate for phone and Internet and have never had to call in for service in the 10 years I had it.
