Internet is unreliable. When working it’s great, but it will stop out of nowhere. I can tell the call center techs are no stranger to angry customers when I call. I’ve filled out requests to have Futiva come to my area, but that’s all I can do. Extremely unhappy with this overpriced service. I work from home & spotty isn’t an option.If I ever move somewhere locally again, I will not go where Mediacom is the only option for fast Internet. That will be the deal breaker. How sad.
Horrible and incompetent. Going on 19+hours with no service and no explanation whatsoever, and no ability to ask any questions. If it were a weather related issue then perhaps I could understand but that is simply not the case. Apparently 11k people without service and they just keep pushing the eta back. Ive had some horrible service providers in the past but it takes real skill to be this bad. If I wasnt disgusted I may actually be impressed. Perhaps they should give all 11k of us a discount on this months bill.
Customer service is non existent. They changed my bill from 41$ to 79$ with no notice. Justified it by saying it was a promotional price. Ask them to show me where I signed anything as promotional or any of my bills that quoted my pricing as “promotional”. They could not, and simply told me “this price is not a negotiation”. I live in an area where they are the only service above 6 MB/s. I will be moving soon and cannot wait to be off of their service. They are on the very bottom of the list of providers I would recommend.

I used this company because they already had wires run when I moved into my building. I paid for the second highest internet package and it still wasnt great. It was enough for one person but not multiple. They also didnt help me get the piggy-backers off my Wi-Fi even when I did everything they said to I still couldnt remove the 5+ devices that werent mine. Glad I am moving somewhere I have options. If you have a more consistent option, take it. The only thing consistent here is how mediocre it is.
Absolutely terrible customer service, internet was fast when it was actually on but the prices are outrageous and they don’t tell you exactly what it will cost before you get the first bill. Horrible.
If you do not add the NBC network to my channel list soon, I will drop Mediacom as my TV provider. This channel has been dropped from my TV PACKAGE for months with no reduction in my monthly bill. I was not able to watch this years Olympic broadcasts, the PGA Tour Championship last week, and will now not be able to watch the NFL weekly game broadcasts. I also watch many weekly NBC network shows. My monthly bill is $239, and for this cost, I should at least get the four major television networks.

Mediacom is awful. Im ready to cut the cord. Our 3rd tv in the spare bedroom is a smart tv yet we cant even get YouTube in there.

Very poor service have had it for years with internet randomly shutting off but kept the service because of a decent price and when it did work it was good. Now Theyre forcing a package upgrade on there customers and going to charge an extra $10 a month even if you dont want the upgrade just to make more money. So Ill just say good luck with your spotty service and losing your customers to fibre internet mediacom
I paid for services I wasnt getting. After 3 service calls I decided to cancel some of my services and turn some components in. My bill was an additional $50 on top of the 3 weeks of no services. Not impressed. Seriously thinking about paying $6k just to have Futiva run fiber-op to my house and be done with Mediacom forever. I guess Mediacom is better than Frontier. So I gave them 1 star for that.
Years of being in southern Illinois and unfortunately this is the only reliable internet provider and they take advantage of it. Our initial installation was done incorrectly and we kept having internet issues whenever it rained (because it wasn’t sealed at all) and it took weeks for mediacom to believe us and send someone out to fix it. We recently moved out of the area and disconnected services (yay!) and they shut off our internet a week early, when my husband still needed to work from home. It took over a day for our internet to come back. And a month later we got a $49 bill for reconnecting the internet even though it was their fault for doing it a week earlier than we said! They try to get every penny out of you since they know most people are stuck with them since they are the only reliable internet provider in the area. We need more reliable internet providers in southern Illinois to prevent this.
The worst customer service I have ever dealt with anywhere in the country. Terrible connection. The stability of the connection you do get when it works is like trying to use 3g inside of a cave. Its actually a joke having to reset my modem every 4 or 5 hours and they do not reimburse for the time you are actually down. They only reimburse SOMETIMES for when your modem is physically off. Trying to call or get a customer service rep on the chat is a nightmare and when you do get someone all they have u do is turn it off then on and they claim it fixed until it goes down again. Ive had McDonalds connection more stable and reliant than what Im paying almost $100 a month for. As soon as literally any other company services my road I am switching. This company is a joke.
Tried getting them. Already paid to have it installed. Gave me the run around for almost two weeks before telling me into unserviceable and told me I couldn’t get it. At least they gave me a refund.
This office is always changing their time that they go to lunch. First it was 12 to 1 and now its 11 to 12. Your customers really dont like sitting in the parking lot waiting so they can pay their bill. Hopefully your company will work on this issue. And yes they do have a drop off box. But you cant get a receipt from a drop off box.

I had a fire at my house and it has to be rebuilt, so I called to cancel service, they suggested I go on seasonal service. I moved into my temporary house and had media com service installed there. I misunderstood how the seasonal worked, so the service was reactivated at the old location and I did not know until I was billed for the month.I called and explained that I had their current service at my new location and could they cancel the service at the old location and credit me the $85 that I was billed? They said no, that at the time the customer service person explained to me how seasonal service works, and if I was confused because my house was destroyed by fire, that was my issue and I COULD GO POUND SAND, they were not going to help me out!
The lady at the front desk was not at all helpful. She just kept saying call the 1800 number. All she was capable of doing was taking my money. I will pay other ways from now on!
Was a customer for 10years my bills would increase every 6 months. Cancel out in March 2019. Now have Clear Tv an No Monthly fee. $00
Scheduled a service transfer to my new house between 3-5 because I work during the day and get a call at 115 saying they are at the house and had me reschedule. I reschedule for July 30th between 3-5 due to the same circumstance and never even get a call from the technician. I call Mediacom once again and they try to reschedule me for August 11th, so I just canceled on the spot.
Liars, they tell you one thing and do another! Their internet service is choppy (one minute it is fine, the next....buffer...) they need to stay honest with their customers if they intend to keep them.Best bet is to get a different company to supply those services.
Desk attendant on duty at 8 :15 was courteous and went out of her way without being asked to get me a newer box that didnt look as dinged up. Very appreciated!
Service is much too expensive. I love Mediacom channel lineup, reliability of service, speed of internet....but the price. Its no longer affordable. 😔
Poor customer service
I have had to have them to my house 5 times in the last 6 weeks. I asked them to come at 5 when I got off work because I have already left work 5 times to meet them. One more time leaving and I wont have a job to pay the cable bill with. They show up at 3 without calling first. Then the technician was a smart arse! It is a shame that they have monopoly in Southern Illinois. Their service is awful, they are rude and they are way over priced for what you get.
The older blonde lady with glasses that works on the left side has been unhelpful and rude to me both times I went in there. She doesnt wear a name tag and refuses to tell her name. She wouldnt so much as help me order a new router, so instead, I have to call and wait on hold for a long period of time. And not to mention how increasingly expensive the service becomes after just one year of being with Mediacom. I really liked the service at first but now with increasingly expensive bill and the unhelpful employee at the local office I will definitely be looking into finding a new internet service provider.
Been with mediacrap for a year now and get charged another random $30. They stated you had a one new member rate for one year... So being a loyal customer means I get charged more???? Not to mention not the first time Ive been charged for random things before.

My grandma is stuck with their service in Marion. Terrible. Their rented equipment stops working all the time, and they replace it with another set of used equipment that ends up quit working sooner rather than later. Of course they take their sweet time coming out to replace it so youre without service for a week or so.

I hate this game of monopoly. For college students, you either have this or frontier, which apparently mediacom is only 1 point ahead.Worst customer service, you can physically hear them not caring about your internet issues.I never had a usage overcharge fee and they charged me twice after five days when I was told the usage resets after the billing cycle.The lady told me she will transfer me over after I told her I was interested in discontinuing my service and she basically just muted me.Im thinking of just tolerating it till my graduation, but I also want this company to be obliterated.

OK for a hundred bucks, or more a month youd think the service would be right. Cable has been going out more and more frequently. For hours at a time. Today along e we are going on four hour out. Get use to seeing ref code SOaOO. Thats all you get to see waiting on you ur cable to come back on.
Awful internet and customer service. High bills and didnt even get what we paid for. Had to call almost every month because of an issue we had. Ended service almost 3 months ago and had to call 4 times to send boxes but instead of boxes I got a bill for 589.00 for the equipment. Wouldnt refer this company to anyone!
Highly dissatisfied with costumer service and how they operate. Use Dish Network instead Mediacom is a bunch of lazy people who cant set equipment up correctly and REFUSE to fix it right after they mess up. Do not trust them at all. Dish Network is waaayyy BETTER!

My TV when changing channels stops n have to wait to change channels they said it was fixed its not. This is the only cable we can get here at my apt nothing else can be hooked up and when ur on a limited budget they charge u out the butt for family n local I cant afford it!!
I have had mediacom for almost 3 years now. It has been 1 issue after another. Installer technician hooked everything up, tivo and internet, gave me a booklet with password and user name for WiFi, then bounced after 20 minutes.4 scheduled appointments later new lines had to be ran from pole to house. Due to old outdated wiring that couldnt handle the signal. 170$ A month.In May 2017 we bought a new house, had service transferred, with a fee of course. Even though we moved all equipment. 4 days later still no service and technician had to come re run news wiring from pole to house, same issue of outdated wiring.Fast forward to 10/27/17 and again service is out on all channels. Customer service says call back in 30 minutes due to system update.Upon calling back I get the standard, we are sorry for any inconvenience sir, we can have a technician scheduled for the 30th, if there is a cancellation, since will set appointment for the 31st.Uh no! You will have a supervisor call me, and a th Nubian here today, or Monday the 30th you will have all my equipment at your office in marion illinois and cancel my service. Absolutely the worst customer care ever.

The tech called 20 mins late and said hed be there in 15 mins. 46 mins late after he calls then he shows up. The appointment was from 8-12 and started after 1.After installation not even a full 24hours and there is no response from the router. I called them and they said its broken. After waiting a few days got a new router. Every 5-10 min the internet turns off. Call them again. Had to wait a week before the came out again. So paying for the higher end internet, but cant even use it. Literally 5 mins after they changed all the cables the same issue happens. Cant even use it to play games when it goes out after 3-5 mins.
The folks at the office are fine. They are polite and courteous, the problem is with the actual service. Theres not a week that goes by where my internet doesnt have a problem. I seriously had to add the Mediacom support number to my speed dial because I have to call it multiple times a week to complain about internet issues. Considering I work from home, these frequent internet outages can cost me my job. The only reason I stay with them is because they are the only provider in my area. The moment another dependable service comes into this area, Im dumping Mediacom. Unless they finally start to deliver on the rock solid dependability they promise in their commercials.
I have had mediacom for six years. Customer service is lacking and they are very slow in resolving outages and general issues.Also just called to add an additional internet service to bundle with my existing account. THEY WONT DO IT. They said that In order to receive an additional modem, they have to create a second account independent of my current service! LOL All I want is internet in a detached garage that doesn’t doesn’t really work with a WIFI extender. After the promotion year has ended, it would cost an additional $100. As soon as a real provider is offered in my area I am getting rid of them.
They shut off my service three days before scheduled. Since I had already paid for those days I asked for a credit. Took me about five customer service reps before getting my credit. Then there was the inconvience of not having internet or cable for three days because they couldnt get anybody out to re-activate the service. Supervisors David representative number 8067 and Annepte representative number 4135 very unprofessional and rude.
So I can keep watching cable and having internet.

Im tired of the service that you get with this company. They need another cable company to come in the area. Ive had cable.with this company for a little over a year now. Im thinking that each time the cable goes off it gets long and long to have to wait for it to come back on. This company sure does not offer any thing off your bill when this happens. My cable has been off the air since 1:30 am and is still off. When you call the office to complain about it all you get is a recording saying that they are working on the problem,will to me there not working to hard to get it back on.
They were very mean and made false accusations when i told hem to prove what they accused me of the net was cut im glad im rid of this physco company
Overall very poor customer service. Internet was okay though. After the year of lower payment they did not inform us about the pay bump. We asked for the promotional deal to be reinstated and informed them we would be looking else ware for a provider, but they seemed not to care.
Terrible overpriced internet. Drops out for days at a time. Router needs reset several times a day. Stuck with it because its my only option where I live. Have called customer service numerous times. I either talk to a robot or somebody from the middle East that I cant understand. Both tell me to reboot my router like I dont know to do that. A one star rating is too high In my opinion.
Lousy service charge out the pocket and even if you disconnect your internet they still charge you I will never go through medicom again and will be sure to tell my friends and family to seek other options then this place.
