The good: Captain Chuck seemed like a nice guy, the owner Dave seems like a super nice guy. I dislike posting this negative review.Captain Chuck seems like a great friend to go fishing with, but not a great charter captain especially for inexperienced/kids.It was the least charter of any charter Ive ever been on, more like hitching a ride. Only 1 crew member (the captain) was not sufficient, it was pushing it for two of us to fish comfortably without captains stress levels getting to high. Little to no instructions/information were given on all levels, and then annoyed when kids are not pros.Did not catch what we chartered for. Caught very few and small fish. We did catch 2 sharks aprx 65lbs witch turned out to be the highlight of the day and was neat for two of the kids, but not what we were looking for.It was still fun and nice to get out on the water, but I would book differently if I could do it over.

What an amazing day My son, husband and I went out with Capt. Chuck on the 32ft Century with two 300 Suzuki outboard. It was an amazing ride out to about 700ft depth looking for Mahi. Capt. Chuck’s eyes were peeled on birds and we found them, and under those birds were the fish! We landed nine dolphins in five hours! Capt. Chuck was always attentive and ready to replace our lines and bait at a moments notice! This charter is fun, professional and educational as well. I recommend this charter from beginners to experience anglers! We have been on other charters in marathon, and hands down, this is the best!

Another great trip on Sweet E Nuf Charters. We have fished with Captain Dave many times over the years. Captain Dave always ensures we are on the fish and that everyone has a great time. Best Captain we have found in the Florida Keys. Highly recommend.

Had a great day dolphin fishing with my son. Captain Dave was professional, efficient and sharp. Equipment was immaculate and we had an awesome day. There’s a fair bit of cigarette smoking on the boat. Doesn’t bother us, but just in case that’s a thing for you.

Great day of fishing! We limited out on mangrove snapper and caught a nice yellow jack. Chuck put us on an awesome spot and he was a great captain. Highly recommend going with these guys.

Always a great time on sweet enuff Charters! Captain Dave makes every trip an awesome and unforgettable experience. Cant wait for my next one! I do about 3 to 4 trips a year with him and bring both family and friends. He makes it easy for me to introduce my love of fishing to those who are new at it and also educate anyone experienced on something new every trip. Plus whatever you catch, he definately has a recipe for!

The attitude of Captain Dave was very disappointing. We paid for the charter, yet he was barking orders at us the whole trip. He did not treat us with respect nor courtesy. We told him we didn’t have experience offshore fishing, and we had a 13 yr-old and an 83 yr-old in our group. None of us had been on this kind of fishing charter before, yet rather than explaining what we should be doing and how, he would harshly tell us what to do like we should have already known. We understand he had a goal of catching the most fish for us, but he should have focused more on us enjoying the experience. He also did a hard sell on the tip after the charter. Not only did he push us to tip more than we initially did, but was insulting and acted like we should have known better.On the other hand Chris was great. He was working every second of the trip, helped us when we needed it and explained what to do.We would not recommend this charter unless you’re whole group is already experienced at offshore fishing.

Great Charter! Captain Chuck went out of his way to make sure we caught all the target species we asked for. He added a deep drop stop on the way in so we could add a grouper and tile fish, then when he heard that I never landed a tarpon he stopped again to add that also.

Capt. Dave and his mate Steve were awesome! They got us on a ton of fish early to get our boys excited about fishing and we hit a wreck a bit later to get me hooked up to some bigger fish. Great trip and would highly recommend Capt. Dave!

Group of 4 went out with Captain Chuck. He was very knowledgeable of the area, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and caught a good amount of fish. We even Caught a giant 45lb Snowy Grouper. Highly recommend!

Had a very good trip with Captain Chuck, I’ve fished in every ocean, caught 1000lb fish and ran charter boats myself. I wanted a day trip to have some fun but mostly to keep my teenage son busy pulling on larger fish that pull drag.I talked to Chuck the night before he gave us a few options and decided on a plan for what we wanted. He’s a great guy, he listens to his clients and knows how to fish and was great with my kids. We had a good day of fishing and on a Gray rainy day a really nice day on the water.His boat is comfortable new engines, electronics etc, great guy to fish with and knows the area, I’d go back today.

My first Tarpon Trip was everything it could have been and then some. I am 100% confident I could NOT have been with a better captain. I fished PMs only for a couple nights with Captain Dave, after weather cancelled the full day trip I had planned with Dave on Monday. I had never caught or fished for tarpon previously, and they are EVERYTHING I had bargained for and then some! The only thing crazier than a tarpon with a hook in his mouth is a tarpon with a hook in his mouth in DARK! The ONLY downside to our trip was a fairly regular interruption by sharks, eating our bait or fish, but even that helped make action steady. Daves clearly extremely experienced and pilots a boat better in dark than I could do in daylight, his equipment is impeccable, and he is a great story teller and educator. MOST importantly, he is a fisherman! IF there is a fish around or nearby he should put the white flag up now! HIGHLY recommend for a successful/great time!

Captain Chuck was great! He tailored our trip to the wind conditions and our experience level. We had such a blast! We caught sharks, mutton snapper, yellow tail, and mangrove snapper. Highly recommend Sweet Enuf Charters and Captain Chuck!

Captain Chuck was an awesome guide. We started out 7 miles off shore and caught some yellow tail snapper but the wind was high and the waves a little rough so we moved to the gulf side where we caught lots of mangrove and some more yellow tail snapper, a cero mackerel and even caught and released a nurse shark! It was an awesome day and I highly recommend him for charters! Have him tell you his story about playing and singing in Key West and everyone thinking he was Kenny Chesney!

I cant really put into words how awesome this trip was. I put our trip in Daves hands and he put us right into the thick of the dolphin. We did not get the chance to see a marlin, but we were fishing at that point. It was legitimately all catching with the dolphin, so getting to hang out and troll was relaxing. Even at the dock, Dave didnt stop. He showed me how to clean our catch, and handed my wife a fishing pole. She then proceeded to make more work for Dave and catch her limit of snapper. She also attracted some sharks, tarpon, and jacks. If you get the chance to go with Dave, it will be a memory you wont forget, and an experience you will want to do again.

Great fishing trip! One of the people on our trip got sick and captain chuck was able to find a fishing spot with smaller waves to make sure everyone had a fun time! Definitely would recommend them! It was a blast!

Great day on the water. We enough Mahi for weeks. Beautiful clean boat, Capt Chuck was terrific, great guy to be on the boat with for 8 hours, looking forward to the next trip, Will definitely be back.

We had an amazing time out with Capt. Dave. We own our own but and mostly spearfish, we charted with Dave to teach us how to rod and reel fish for Mahi which we constantly failed at. He made a great effort to teach us everything he knew and by the end of the day we worked as a well oiled machine. He taught use everything from how he rigs the baits, how to find the fish, to how to keep the school trailing the boat. We ended up filling the cooler with more than 25 mahi and one 40# monster. Would 100% book with him again. THANKS DAVE!

As an avid fisherman, I’ve had previous experiences with other charter services. Some were good and some fell a little short. Our experience with Captain Chuck with SweetEnuff Charters was nothing less than first class. Nobody can make a fish bite, but Capt. Chuck always kept a contingency plan if the bite wasn’t there or slowed down. Honest, engaging, knowledgeable. Patient and great with kids or those who don’t fish often. Scratched a few species off my bucket list and I can’t recommend these folks highly enough.

Great 1/2 day trip, got us right on the fish and did not stop catching fish until it was time to go in. Thanks Dave and Chuck!!

Captain Chuck took our family out over the Christmas break. Unfortunately Mother Nature was not our friend that day, and the fish did not cooperate. Knowing we had rented a boat for the week, but being from Alabama and clueless, he gave us tips on where to fish. He then called us the next day and offered, after one of his trip’s was unexpectedly cancelled, to ride with us on our personal craft and show us where to fish, what to use, etc. Captain Chuck came through!! Our 15 year old son, who was gifted the fishing charter trip for Christmas, was able to catch an abundance of snapper and mackerel AND learn valuable fishing tips from the captain! Went out with the family and we all had a blast. Capt Dave and Capt Chuck worked their a$$es off and had us on the fish all day!! They were great with our 11 year old from start to finish. This was an amazing fishing charter. The captain and mate were helpful and very instrumental in supporting me land a HUGE African Pompano, my first trophy fish...EVER!!! The crew was the best in helping coach me so I could land this massive fish. New comers and experienced fishers... Fish with Captain Dave and Christian, theyll give you one hell of a good fishing experience!! Because of them we had fish to eat the entire week we were in Marathon.

Captain Dave Schugar and Sweet ENuf Charters is a great operation. We shared with Captain Dave the fish we preferred to target and he produced. Our group was comprised of five large-bodied fisherman and there was plenty of room on his big well-maintained center console boat. It was great to have the t-top to grab some shade between catching snapper and AJs. Everyone caught their fill and my back is still soar. A big thanks to Captain Dave! Well be back.

Great captain best fishing trip ever

Had a great time. Captain and crew were very nice. Kept it fun and exciting. My 11 year old fought a shark for a half hour and finally got it in. Plus we caught a bunch of other stuff too. Brought home a couple bags of fish and kept the Mrs happy. Couldnt ask for more, thank you!

I don’t often post reviews, but I made my decision based off these positive reviews and our family could not have had a worse experience. This wasn’t our first trip fishing, and it’s not negative because no fish were caught, but that was disappointing. I would not recommend!I booked an offshore full day trip emphasizing wanting to catch fish for eating, not sailfish for sporting. Captain Dave said certain fish may not be biting and they could come in for wreck if morning wasn’t successful. That sounded great. It was booked to go with Captain Chuck, whom Captain Dave emphasized was great and experienced.Captain Chuck was not set up for anything we booked the charter for. My husband mentioned that the plan was to try wreck and Captain Chuck had no clue that was the plan. They wasted time having to turn around to get two (yes, only two) rods to wreck fish.- There wasn’t a deckhand! Lines constantly tangled because it was only the Captain. My family had to help steer the boat to keep it straight. Captain Chuck was a nice guy but lacked the knowledge and equipment to have a fun or successful time.I communicated with Captain Dave about the experience prior to this post. I expressed the disappointment with the lack communication he provided to the captain of his other boat. He offered a partial refund to pick up the next day as long as I didn’t post an honest, poor review. When my husband went to pick up the refund, he refused.It’s always a toss up if fish are caught, but a lack of appropriate gear and a deckhand to help run the lines should be provided for the services advertised and the cost to go. Save your $1200 and go elsewhere.

All I can say is when you are in Marathon, Sweet “E” nuff Charters with Captain Dave Schugar and his man Steve will show you a great day on the water!! He put us right on the fish and it was nonstop all day! On top of the fishing you won’t find a couple of better guys in the Keys. Their hospitality was unmatched and not only did we find a great charter but we made some good friends and we can’t wait to go back.#BestPokeAround

We caught a ton of fish! We had 2 little bday boys with us and they were entertained for 4 hours bc they were catching fish left and right. Captain Dave and Chuck were very knowledgeable and taught us a lot and showed us a good time! They answered all hundred questions the little boys asked! Everyone caught fish. We can’t wait to do it again.

This is our second year going out with Captain David and it was again an awesome experience. Plenty of fish caught by everyone on the boat, and a lot of meat to bring home. Captain David is very knowledgeable about the area and the fishing. I 100% recommend him for all your fishing trips.

Captain Dave is the only captain I charter with in the Florida Keys. He has the most knowledge on the water and always seems to put me on the fish.Safety is not never a concern and his mate christian is awesome as well.I fish every month or so with him and its always a solid time. Highly reccomended and will show you a variety of different species!

Captain Dave was great from start to finish. We arrived a little early and he was prepping the boat and the bait was rigged Awesome coffee shop at his dock. Capt. Dave loves his coffee drinks...Just ask for the captain Dave brew if you care to soften the captain up before leaving the dock. The boat was very clean on both top deck and the head. The two lady’s in our party were very appreciative that the head was well maintained and clean! We left on time and Capt. Dave kept us on the fish virtually all day. We trolled and wreck fished with success. Capt Dave even had the patience to teach me how to vertical jig! We were hitting them really well at the end of the day and Capt. Dave kept going for one more pass. He really enjoys fishing and it shows. He was a fountain of excellent information when asked questions but never over verbalized and let us enjoy our time together as a family. Never a dull moment fishing with Dave. Be sure you are ready to do some serious fishing when you call Sweet ENuf Charters. From hitting the wrecks, to fishing the reef.....Dave will target species and you will catch what you want. Great boat, smooth ride, has a bathroom, and amazing electronics. You will enjoy fishing with this company. All i can say is do 6 or 8 hrs, as 4 hrs is not enough.

It was kinda last minute when we contacted captain Dave about a Tarpon evening trip. But he made it work. The evening we went out was windy and a lot of chop in the water. But captain Dave knew a calm spot and within 45 minutes I had a large Tarpon on the line!Captain Dave’s boat was super nice with state of the art equipment.I had never fished for Tarpon before and captain Dave spoke clear instructions to me as to what to do while totally remaining calm.I felt so comfortable with captain Dave. I felt like I was fishing with a friend.Captain Dave knows what he’s doing and will get you on the fish.Next time I’m down in Marathon to fish, I’m calling captain Dave and recommend if you want a great experience catching fish with a great captain full of experience. You should call him too.

Capt. Chuck took us out yesterday and we could not have had a better time. He is a friendly, engaging professional who was great to be around - his fishing knowledge is really incredible- and I Have fished offshore in my own boat in Charleston, SC for 10 years. As far as the trip - we lit up tuna from the time we started to the end. We trolled them, jigged them and cast to them. Lots of action. FYI, There’s a great coffee cabana in the parking lot to hit before you get onboard. Highly recommend Sweet E’nuf and Capt. Chuck.

The reports said Mahi bite was slow. Thats not the case when youre with captain dave. Caught 40 Mahi including a big 40lb bull.

Another great experience with Capt Dave. As usual - clean boat, personable, prepared, and plenty of fish fillets.

Dave and his mate did an excellent job putting us on the Mahi. We missed a Blue Marlin and a wahoo but that didn’t make the trip any less fun. I’ve taken hundreds of charters all over the world, Dave knows his stuff and is patient during the process. I brought out my 5 year old for his first offshore trip ever and Dave made it a trip to remember. We’ve been eating Mahi all week cooked different ways and still have 6 packs of 10 filets left. We’ll be back.

Fished a afternoon trip with Capt Dave and Mate Christian. Captain Dave put us right on the fish and they both worked very hard to show us how to do it and fill the cooler up with several different species of fish. If you are in the Keys I highly recommend booking a charter with these guys!

Captain Dave Schugar knows his stuff! We recently chartered with him and we were not disappointed. We caught quality fish mutton snapper and a trophy African Pompano we will definitely be back. His first mate Christian Patrick made it easy getting our rods ready to fish. Tight lines were in order!

Captain Dave was great for the half day charter. Kids and adults had a great time. Would highly recommend for future trips to adults and families alike. We even used Daves recipe for sauce on the snapper we caught.

I first met Capt Dave in 2007 with my boys. He came highly recommended at the time and since we wanted to catch fish we were told he was the man. Since 2007 we have been on approximately 50 trips with him and have always done well and made ridiculously great memories not to mention becoming close friends. This guy is the best and for all those who read this post i would say good luck and have fun!!

We booked 2 trips with Capt Dave while in Marathon last week!! What an amazing Capt!! Not only did he take us to the fish, he showed us a good time. He is an experianced fisherman, courteous and friendly! And man does he keep a clean boat!! I would recommend contacting Capt Dave if you are in the Marathon area for fishing!! Totally worth it!!! We hope to be seeing him again next year!!

He knows where the fish are and will burn the gas to get you there. I have been on numerous charters and Capt Dave will definitely be my guide from now on. His boat is a great combo of comfort, fishability and speed - and has a WC if the need arises. We took home over 100 lbs of fish and had a fantastic time.You wont be disappointed!!

Captain Dave is awesome! Our morning charter was cancelled out of Duck key & after a very short notice request~ we had a fabulous afternoon of fishing with Sweet E’nuff. Weather was tough, so were we, & made a wonderful afternoon out of it! Plenty of fish caught~ snapper and grouper! Brought our hook & cook to the local restaurant & had a wonderful meal for our entire family; great eating & cleaning by the captain! Can’t thank you enough for a wonderful experience! The BEST! I have fished with Captain Dave a few times and every time is better then the last. His boat is fully equipped and super clean. He knows what fish are biting and where to find them all year round. I have caught large jacks, snappers, king fish, groupers, and sharks to name a few. If you are ever in the Keys make sure you track down Sweet ENuf Charters. Im convinced Dave is part fish because he knew exactly where to go and how to catch them. Kids had a great time catching Yellow Snapper and Amberjack. 13 year old son even pulled in a +40# fish. We loved that we also got a chance to hit some of the best snorkeling weve found in the Keys.

Captain Dave provided my family of three boys and my wife an unforgettable experience. This was our first time on a charter and won’t be the last. My boys wanted to catch big fish with a huge fight and he put us on 50+ lb Amberjack and 150+ lb Tarpon which was definitely “Sweet Enuf”. Go night time snapper fishing with Capt Dave! The bite was non stop and we brought home so much fish. Daves boat is awesome and made for a smooth fast ride out to our spot. He was right on with the bait and tackle needed for the snapper we were targeting. He even accommodated us when we needed to book our trip last minute. Very disappointed, had a full day trip (8 hour trip) planned, went out with 10mph winds, 3-4 foot white capped chop, seemed ok at first, my wife and I both got sick within 30 minutes and puked multiple times, we sat still with lines out for 2 hours with not one bite and no attempt to troll, asked if we could do a half day instead or if he would work with us on the price but wouldnt budge, we even offered him $800 and he pretty much made it out like we wasted his day, we paid over $1000 for 2 and a half hours total, not one fish and no compensation whatsoever. We traveled all the way from California for this charter trip, was extremely excited and was taken advantage of.

It was a windy cold day and Captain Dave was the only one brave enough to take us out on the ocean. We caught a bunch of fish including a 30 pound Kingfish. We were the only boat on the ocean but it was a great adventure!

Captain Dave took us out and did a combo charter. He got us on the fish in some subprime conditions. Ambejacks, Grouper, Blackfin Tuna, and Spotted SeaTrout. A full fun day of fishing was a blast.
