BEWARE: ROACH INFESTATION. I viewed a vacant apartment at their property on Holtwood road in Overland. The first thing I noticed going inside was a strong cigarette odor. I noticed several dead cockroaches on the floor. Then I moved the oven out from the wall and along with nasty old garbage, about 30 live roaches crawled out. It was disgusting and I will not consider this place.
Turned in all of my paper work working 2 jobs working 70-80 hours and 34 hours every 2 weeks. Told me I had to make 4 times the rent. 3 sources of income coming in but we didnt qualify. The requirements seemed to be made up because it said nothing about 4 times the rent when it should be 3 times the rent. 4 times the rent in a area that doesnt even comes to the amount of 4 times the rent. The area is not Ladue, Clayton, St. Charles, etc. The property value is not that high and we were told 4 times the rent on a 795 a month house for rent.
Super nice area. Alicia in the office is very helpful. Properties are well taken care of and nicely updated. Parking on Ida is tight, but great other than that.
Apartment Exchange is a Great Company to rent from. Great Maintenance team and Great Apt Management. I would recommend them if you are looking for Great Landlords.
We loved our apartment through Apartment Exchange! They were friendly and responsive to email communications. The process for a maintenance request and payment for our lease was fast and convenient through their portal. We loved our 2-bedroom apartment in Tower Grove and only left because we bought a house.
Our property manager and maintenance team are so wonderful to work with. Theyre quick in responding to our needs. I highly recommend working with this group.
Management is aware of parking issues at our complex. Up until today, management has been great at sending mass texts to other residents when they parked in our spot. This week alone, our spot has been parked in 3-4 times. Today, the neighbors who parked in our spot called the police when we knocked on their door. Afterwards, Josh, our apartment manager, called us and told her not to call her with parking disputes again, and faulted us for the incident with the police even though we didnt do anything wrong.Apartment Exchange should really take some responsibility for the properties that they manage. Yes, parking is always at a premium in apartments, but you are aware of the issues and should not fault tenants when they get into disputes over parking. Instead of having us rely on our apartment manager who no longer wants to deal with these issues, maybe you could post a towing sign and number that residents could call when their spots are parked in.Ive never felt so disappointed in an apt community in my life, and Ive lived in some bad ones. I now know that in the future, instead of calling my apt manager, I should just follow the actions of my neighbors and call the police every time theres an issue, since they are very supportive of my neighbors who chose to call.EDIT: Please see the email sent to us after our property manager called us to tell us our complaints are no longer welcome. She specifically states that people are allowed to violate lease policy if we do not claim our spots first. Anyone without a 8-5 job will find themselves lacking parking, and the complex will not honor their legally binding (lease) obligation of reserved parking.
I have lived at Williamsburg Townhomes for a year and the experience overall has been good. The walls are thin. Other than that, no complaints
I cannot say enough good things about Apartment Exchange. From viewing available properties on a Saturday (Kelly is awesome!) to having a number of BIG maintenance requests (through no fault of AE), which were all quickly and professionally handled, and then little maintenance requests that were handled even faster, this is by far the best rental management company Ive ever had. And Ive lived in a number of places in St. Louis and out of state. If we ever decide to leave our great apartment now, I will rent from them exclusively in the future.
Apartment exchange has done an excellent job inspecting my property’s rehab and communicating necessary updates to yield the highest market rent. Their feedback is timely and thorough. I am very pleased to this point.
Apartment exchange was great while I rented from them. Everything was awesome until they made the decision to sell the building I was renting from without even letting me know. They told me I would be able to renew and nothing would change, just a new owner. That was not the case the new owner gave me a notice to vacate in 30 days when my lease went through 6 more months. Sooooo all I have to say about apartment exchange is make sure they are not going to sell the building you are living in in the middle of your lease because apparently they can do that without even mentioning it to you. Absolutely unprofessional and unnecessary! I would elsewhere if you want someone you can trust and will treat you with respect!
The staff that assisted me during my visit (Janelle) was very friendly and helpful.
I reside at 5844 Bermuda the tenants above me are extremely loud and has a lot of traffic flowing come home at times. I can’t even park in my parking space kids running wild. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone unless you like dealing with a bunch inconsiderate tenants . I have have sent serval emails and voicemails messages and even talk to one staff member.
My wife and I rented from Apartment Exchange from 2015-2017. They took good care of the property, had a very quick maintenance response, and were easy to work with. The lease was straight forward. We got our whole deposit back upon moving out. It was easy to pay rent online or request maintenance online.
My name is Tiffanee..4 years ago i was in a shelter with a eviction. With odds stacked against i felt helpless..i just started a job maybe 3 months prior to contacting Apartment exchange..a miracle happened..they found me a place in Florissant and worked with my eviction i cried in their office real tears..today, i still live in my apartment .still have my job...God bless the staff there..i been here 4 yearsThanks for giving me a chance
Im a tenant and the apartment that I live in is literally falling apart I report problems by phone and email and it takes months sometimes a year for them to fix anything this company is slum lords never want to fix anything but try to demand payment. Have no problem paying so save the smart remark you all never fixed my problems my ceiling caved in 4times in different rooms theres a hole in my ceiling as we speak if things was being fixed you would have been paid you guys suck royally even tried to reason with you all and you still refused to fix anything stop with the lies and the property manager omg is a piece of work he never respond to calls or emails
Spent 18 months in an Apartment Exchange apt and loved every bit of it. Quick and easy with I had a repair & so courtesy to me when I called at odd hours. Would have stayed longer but needed a larger place. Will be back when the time is right!!!
A professional team who acts and reacts promptly
My boyfriend and I rented a house through Apartment Exchange from 2015-2017. They were good about responding when we called with issues, they replaced our air conditioners with brand new ones when we called about them not working well. They normally showed up either the same day as the request was put in, or the next day. The house that we rented was in slightly rough condition and was very old, but they charged a fair price for the rent and returned our security deposit as promised. They did not hold onto any of it to fix issues that were already present in the home before we moved in. We did take good care of the place while we were there, but being over 100 years old, the home obviously had its issues. The only minor complaint I would have is that even though we took good care of the place and paid on time every month, they still upped our rent each year. I think that is standard practice, but it still isnt great when you do everything right and still get your rent upped. From our experience I would recommend renting from Apartment Exchange.
They respond quick to my messages or concerns. Are very welcoming and nice to work with. I am so far glad that I rented from them.
Administrative staff is always cheerful and helpful and The maintenance staff goes above and beyond. This is the best experience Ive ever had with property management/landlords in my life.
BRENTON AVENUE APARTMENTS: Ive been here since August 31. They have roaches in the apartment and they wont do anything about it except for spray outside. They need to just rebuild everything. They also have critters in the crawl space! But the people here are nice they just cant be selling to no dirty people. Dirty people=bugs! Yuck! I spend $50 extra dollars that I dont have to get roach spray!
I have been renting from Apartment Exchange for the past 4 years and would recommend them to anyone. Always kind and attentive to my needs. This is the second management company Ive rented from in the St. Louis area and I wish I had found them sooner!
My car was broken into in the private parking lot in front of my building. There is a sign up that says surveillance cameras in use. When I called Apartment Exchange to see about viewing the surveillance footage, they became argumentative and said they do not have surveillance cameras and they dont have signs out claiming they do. When I asked about the need for added security around the buildings, they said that was between me and the police. DO NOT rent from apartment exchange. I have had several issues with them in the past and they have always been addressed in an unprofessional, argumentative way.
The landlord does not care about his tenets but loved when we pay rent on time I bet it’s mice in the apartment where I live and water leaks into the apartment he steady tells me they will fix the problem on the roof the apartment is not insulated correctly my bill a month should not be $260 for gas I will not rent from this company again
I love living in my apartment! Its lovely, they always keep up with the landscape, they come fix things quickly, and the owner of my particular building remembered me at Christmas time!
WARNING! They put a hard inquiry on your credit report, and they also require a $200 application deposit on top of the $40 application fee. I couldnt get a copy of my application either despite multiple requests.
5 Stars times 1000!
First class operation
Current tenant with them never come and fix issues my home is falling apart my neighbor has not had air for a whole month and its 90° outside basement keeps flooding in my stuff has gotten ruined and my home in my living room and my room and in my kitchen have all flooded
Worst property management company EVER. If you find out a property owner uses AE to manage their rentals, RUN!
Typical closet racist tactics over there.
