Excellent service. I went to him with an old radio transceiver battery box that needed some soldering done. He was able to fix it on the spot and and charged an extremely reasonable rate, also had great communication about what he was doing and why. Would recommend to others that need electronic repair.

I rarely write reviews but Short Tronics really deserves a great review. My Garmin GPS for my boat broke on a recent trip. Sent to Chris and his team at Short Tronics requesting an expedited repair as I was about to take another trip in a new area and really needed the machine repaired quickly for safe travel during the trip. As soon as they received it, Chris contacted me about the repair and exactly what was needed. They expedited the repair in 1 day and express shipped it back to me so I would have it in time for my trip. Plugged it in and was off on my trip with the machine working like new again. A+++++ company. I very highly recommend working with them. Chris was also very kind as Id tried to fix the machine myself right before sending and I personally did a bit of additional damage cracking a screen in the process. They were able to completely fix it all and he was very gracious in telling me those screens are sensitive and they see them cracked frequently when owners try to repair them on their own. Next time, Ill send straight to Short Tronics ASAP without even a second thought so it gets fixed correctly and save my personal time. I also felt the price was very fair for this repair on this machine and their communication was great! I am a happy and safe boater once again in Florida with the repaired machine. Contacted Chris about my hiniker plow joy stick controller. He said he had part on hand. Dropped it off had it fixed within an hour. Very reasonably priced and fast service. Brought controller home plugged it in and everything works as it should. I recommended Chris for any of plow electronic needs. Thanks again chris

Our Garmin 541S was serviced by Short Tronics - it was non-responsive and we really couldnt easily replace it because the newer units are too large for the space we have on the boat. Chris gave us immediate feedback when he received the unit and fixed it promptly - including a firmware update that was needed. Excellent service, quick turnaround and great communication. It works like new and were extremely satisfied. I highly recommend Short Tronics.

Chris and his team did a great job! He replaced the internal battery and updated the firmware on my Garmin 540S. The cost to repair was in line with repair cost in the electronics industry. The turn-around was quick and the level of communication was excellent. I would not hesitate to do business with Short Tronics in the future.

I had a loop pedal that stopped working. I brought it to Chris and he took a look and said, come back in an hour. When I returned I paid him and went home to test it. Works great. I will bring all of my problems to him. Friendly and fast. Also very reasonable.

My Garmin Zumo 550 quit working after I dropped it. Garmin wouldnt repair it because its too old. Chris took it in, fixed in short order and returned it quickly, looking and working great. The price was very reasonable.

Chris the Palm Doctor has kept my old Palm TX units running for years. No other device can replace the TX. The TX gives me a full sized keyboard that fits in my pocket. Like having a full laptop for note-taking in my pocket.But sometimes I need a little laptop for travel and the ASUS Transformer fit the bill perfectly. It is small enough to fit in a fanny pack, but it runs Windows 10. I dug it out recently in order to attend Zoom conferences for work. I was horrified to find that it had come unplugged. The battery had died and it was in a state that it could not recover from.As with the Palm TX, the ASUS Transformer was so perfect that it was discontinued and nothing like it is being made anymore.It seemed like a longshot, but I asked Chris if he would be willing to try to open it up. Fixing it is the easy part. Getting it open without breaking it is the scary part. I cant imagine anyone I would trust more than Chris to do this.Not only did he get it open. He fixed it and got it back together again as good as new. It works perfectly now. And he turned it around immediately. And he stayed in constant contact every step of the way. Who does that anymore?Not only are your repairs a kindness to those of us in need, Chris. I ordered a Zire71. It was delivered quickly. I had some questions which were answered promptly. I am very satisfied with my Zire, and with the prompt support.

I was having intermittent on/off problems (well actually, the off wasnt a problem) with an in dash Garmin GPS unit on my boat. I found PalmDR through a quick Google search and filled out the form as instructed. Within the hour I received a reply with instructions for sending the unit in. I opted for the rush service and they arent kidding, the unit was back in my boat 8 days later.Chris Short says what he will do and then does it with integrity and at a fair price.I do not wish to have GPS issues, but if I do I will not hesitate to call on Short Tronics once again.Thank you guys.

I sent out my rand mcnally tnd 740. It was flickering and not turning on when the untit was sitting in the semi cold. Great communication and made sure for me it was the battery and not something else. Price was great and got it sent back quick. A+ job. Working as it should.

I have been a palm user since the palm pilot was created in 1997. THE most reliable device I have ever owned (It only crashes when I drop it). I have been purchasing palm devices from Palm Dr for several years now and have always been very satisfied with the products. Turnaround time is excellent. Cost for products and services is very reasonable.Recently my palms USB interface quit. I sent the unit in for repair and purchased an upgraded unit, which required new drivers for my laptop. Chris was able to provide remote support to install the program and drivers, and configuration. I am VERY satisfied with the support I received and recommend this vendor 100%.

My trusty Garmin Zumo 550 would not fully boot. Found Short Tronics on the web and after exchanging two emails off it went. On receipt Chris suggested I might also want to replace the screen and the buttons, which I am very glad I did. I had not realized how balky the screen and buttons had become. It works like new now, and his price was a fraction of the cost of another GPS or some potentially stolen device listed on eBay. Great job, great price and the GPS was back in my hands in no time. Highly, highly recommend him if you need a GPS or similar device repaired.

My Garmin Zumo 550 needed repair and Garmin no longer offers repair service. I sent my Zumo to Chris to perform the button repair and to fix the contacts on the bottom of the unit. He repaired my Zumo on the day it was delivered and shipped it back to me on that same day! Cant get any faster than that.My Zumo is back in service and fully functional! Thanks Chris...
