Difficult to rely on and poor communication. We booked a truck for 8am and didn’t get it until several hours later on our moving day, and never received any updates— we had to call and ask several times on the status. The agents were nice and seemed to mean well, but the company this was not a great experience.

Penske is a mess. Folks at Waters are trying but they dont have much to work with. I reserved a small cargo van using Penske online. When I arrived I was told they do not have such vehicles at this location -- never have had any, and dont expect to ever have them in the future. I have important plans. I asked if they could substitute another small truck for the same price. They had only two trucks on the lot but one was available. Waters employees tried hard but failed to reach anybody at Penske who could authorize the transaction. I eventually gave up and left empty handed. My plans have been turned upside down. I cant recommend this incompetent company or its local operation.

Went and picked up a friend from there after he dropped off the rental truck.

Awful customer service from some of the staff. The truck we rented didnt start up and the cab was filled with trash and nails. They didnt clean the cab upon request and hired a mechanic who did the minimal amount to fix the truck. The trailer we also rented doesnt have working break lights and will need to be seen again by another mechanic. We lost a whole day of moving due to inefficientcy of the Penske Company and rushing to meet our deadline. We now have to rely on this truck to move across country safely.

Dont do business with them, the day before the move they call to say sorry we dont have a truck for you anymore, even though we reserved it 3 weeks before.

Dont expect good customer service. Had a truck reserved for mid morning. Arrived, and it was in the KC area. Told it was on its way. Called 3 hours later to check, and it hadnt arrived and was told they hadnt heard what its status was. What good is a reservation? Why not call the customer before they arrive to pick up the truck to tell them that the vehicle is not on site?

I called the Lenexa location because a Penske customer had reserved a 26 foot truck over a month ago. I was told by KEVIN that there is no one going toward Manhattan today so they probably cant get the truck today. I told KEVIN that the customer absolutely needed the truck, and after being put on hold, he told me that he guess he could send someone our way with a 26 foot truck and that we could expect the truck to arrive by 2. The truck came, but it was a truck with a lift gate. The customers also needed a car carrier, which cant be pulled by a truck with a lift gate. We were told by CAMERON, who I had not spoken to, that apparently I told him that we needed a truck with a lift gate. I never said any such thing. CAMERON hung up on us multiple times when we tried to call him back to fix the problem. The customers, who were told that there was a truck ready for them, had to leave empty handed again. Finally, after CAMERON lying repeatedly and refusing to speak to us, we called the District office and we were able to get a 26 foot truck heading our way. We have had many problems with KEVIN and CAMERON in the past.

Friendly and fast. Got us in and out twice within 5 minutes. Everyone is friendly. Great introduction to the state of Kansas. Huge hardware store guaranteed to have almost everything

I had a 2 month prior rental cancelled by Budget and called Waters 3 days before a holiday weekend. They not only fixed a truck that the previous renter had broken so i could rent it, but gave me a discount so i didnt have to pay the last minute premium.Waters is a class act!

Avoid at all costs! We reserved a large truck for a 300 mi family move. They contacted us during the week to ensure we would pick it up. Then when we went to get it, NO TRUCK. The regional office said it was 200 mi away and they hadnt been able to start it. We were given no courtesy call prior to our pickup time, no recourse of action, NOTHING! The employees at the local hardware store / Penske contractor even stated that Penske drops the ball like this FREQUENTLY. This company has little regard for the families they affect and the local business partners whose reputation also gets tarnished by their amateur performance.

Pleasure dealing with everyone there. Equipment is excellent, and if its not, its promptly fixed.

Flexible about pick-up time, courteous service.Seemed understaffed or in the middle of a number of small storms, staff were dutiful despite the circumstances.

Be careful & watch your phone cause if you dont answer their call then your reservation is automatically canceled. Ruined all our moving plans.
