I cannot say enough about Standard! Our air conditioner went out in the middle of July and they were very professional and prompt with their service. They came out and did a free estimate, ordered the parts, and had a new unit installed all within 3 days time. Everything from their customer service to their timeliness was flawless. We are Standard customers for life!

We were extremely disappointed with their service. They charged us to “fix” our AC. We were told that it had a coolant “leak”. The guy was here 10 min, added coolant and then left. We were charged over $200 to “repair” the problem. When we had no AC less than 48 hours later and called Standard we were told by Renee that they were “too busy” to actually fix the leak on the initial service day. She advised us that we could pay another $200+ to add more coolant. Or we “could go down the street to the local thrift shop and buy a window air conditioner.” I have NEVER had someone that has treated customers so rudely or unprofessionally. —Mary Leos

I had my first new-homeowner plumbing issue and was referred to Standard Plumbing. They were able to very quickly send someone over who correctly diagnosed the issue (tree-root clogged sewer line) and got the job done very professionally and neatly! I was extremely happy with the level of service and completely understand why they were referred to me in the first place.

I converted my electric furnace to gas. James came out and gave me an estimate and explained the process in detail. The work was done quickly and efficiently. They coordinated with Kansas gas and everything went according to schedule. Rene and the rest of the office personnel were professionall and easy to work with. Our technician was Dalton, an extremely courteous and personable young man. He was very thorough in working on our furnace and was very reassuring that we are doing a good job keeping our furnace well maintained. We have been using Standard plumbing for several years at two different properties and have never been disappointed with their work.

When I have heating or air conditioning issues, I will always ask for Dalton M. He came to check my furnace for upcoming use. He was knowledgeable, thorough, competent & hard working. Im delighted with service and professionalism of this organization. Dalton M. was my contact and replaced heat pump package unit after finding my 30 year old unit was not repairable. He was prompt, professional and gave complete explanation of what he found wrong and replacement recommendations, as well as looking at possible future work recommendation. He and James W. replaced 2.5 ton heat pump and programmed new thermostat in a single day, came back with additional material to be absolutely sure connection with ductwork was weather proof. Strongly recommend.

We called Standard Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning when we had water backing up out of one of the floor drains in our basement. They got a appointment scheduled with us quickly and the technician, Jay, was able to get the pipes unclogged and everything fixed and working within an hour of showing up at our house. They came out to fix my sink and while doing that heard my heater make a weird noise. The guy checked it out and realized my heater fan was super dirty from previous renters, he took it out and cleaned it after he finished fixing my sink. Glad even though he was there to fix a sink they still pay attention to other potential problems throughout the house. Very friendly and professional.

100 degree days hit, a/c seems fine, then within 24 hours the compressor fan goes from squealing to lights out, heading into a weekend no less. Called John the owner who hooked me up with one of his guys on Saturday and by Noon, I was rescued. Dalton was knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. Thanks!

James was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful while figuring out what was going on with our broken air conditioner. He went above and beyond to make sure we werent spending any more time in a hot, un-air conditioned house than we already had. Called them out just to repair an outside faucet. Their repairman unplugged our sump pump and didnt plug it back in when he left. A couple hours later, half our basement was under water. They sent a water mitigation company out the next day to dry things out but now refuse to return our calls about when they are going to return to repair the floors and walls that were damaged. And now they keep sending us bills, even after I gave a check to the original repairman!! Would never recommend them to anyone. Guess we will have to end up in court to make them fix their mistake.

Timely service and we were given multiple options to solve a tricky AC problem involving multiple rooms as well as electronic equipment in a business setting. Standard was quick and courteous with a great solution and worked with and around our crew to not interrupt business. Id certainly recommend them.

Standard replaced my furnace and A/C unit today. Dave did a great job of evaluating the problem. Antony and Mike did the install and I was very pleased. Everything was finished in one day and they made sure the house was picked up and clean when they left.

Antony was very knowledgable and eager to check all possibilities regarding a high heat bill at my house. Insulation was reviewed, leaks around windows, air flow, thermostat, and heat pump outside. I was very pleased that my heat and air were thoroughly checked and will call upon him again.

I called Saturday night because my sewer was backed up and completely clogged. When the on call guy answered the phone I explained to him what was happening, he then informed me the price would be around $800 to clean my sewer!! Talk about taking advantage of people in stressful situations. It worked out for the best because the company we called next was half the price ($415) and the guy who came out to clean our sewer was an amazing. Took his time, cleaned up and cared about our situation.

Had a tech come by when my roommate and myself were not home due to my landlords required preventative maintenance schedule. I had just replaced the filter two days prior to the tech showing up and when I arrived home the $12 filter I just bought was bent and destroyed because the tech was not patient with putting it in.Also was not aware that the furnace was to be checked to ensure it ran (which it did/does) but the tech had entered my locked room (push key lock door) which has the thermostat w/o permission.Callled and spoke to Barb and she said I’d receive a call from one of the owners about my filter but never did so I followed up. Spoke to John about the issue and he sent another tech out to replace the filter with a “better one” but did not apologize about the situation.Tech came by and was visually upset about having to replace the filter and tried to reason through why the filter was bent up and left like it was without even telling me since the 3M filtrete filters are “a little larger than standard” even though both comply with ASI standards. He replace the filter, and still no one has apologized for the poor workmanship.In conclusion: the service was performed, I had to call to mitigate an issue that should have never arose since the original tech should’ve notified me for entering a locked room and destroying my filter, and there was passive aggressive tension for getting the filter replaced that was broke by a Standard Plumbing Tech.Would I choose to do service with them again? No.But my landlord company apparently has a contract with them so they’ll probably be continuing work. I guess next time I’ll be sure to stay in the unit to make sure everything goes smoothly.2/5 for getting the new filter but that’s about it.

Antony came at a time when my house was in dishevel from remodeling with an electrician, Carpet One, and the Merry Maids in thehouse and I had things I had to do.Antony walked in with covered shoes, and we went over all the things I wanted him to do, (which he already knew) and off he went to work. Paul and Dalton did a great job installing my new air conditioner. They were friendly, informative, efficient, and left the work area clean.

Antony did an excellent job. i hope to see him again. he was professional and obviously knew what he was doing repairing facets and attending to our hvac system.

Had a main line break today. Called and they had time, so the plumber came out early. Once the plumber arrived, he was shown the line, valve, and connector where the leak originated. Either this was his first solo call or he was having a bad day, but he didnt seem interested at all in fixing the problem. The landlord came by and got into more detail about the issue (I own my home but rent the land, the main line is his property). After pulling the faulty connector, the plumber didnt seem to know what to do next. He kept saying I dont have that part, nobody does. The landlord and myself didnt buy this and started calling around. We found the piece in Waters True Value in Wamego. I went to talk to the plumber, who was wrapping up everything, I guess thinking he was done, to tell him that we found the part. After informing him about the part, his direct quote was Oh, well he can put it on. I asked what the gameplan was; if I was going to go get the part, or him, or the landlord. He ignored me, got into his van and drove off. We locked eyes so he saw my confusion so I waved, he quickly jerked his head forward and kept driving.I have no idea if Im getting a bill, if hes coming back, what the deal is. I finally went and got the part and fixed it with the landlord. The landlord didnt know what happened with him either or if he is coming back. I called the company multiple times only to receive a busy signal each time (calls spread 5 minutes apart.)All in all, a very bad experience with the plumber during a crucial time. Will update in future if I receive a bill or not. Dont see a reason why I should pay somebody to come out, look at it, say its broke, then leave.

I am contracted to do air conditioning myself. I was out of town and my unit lost freon and needed recharged. These guys are as honest as they come. I hated that I couldnt do it myself, but didnt mind paying the charges these guys billed me. Very modest. My wife talked me into calling. She didnt want to go without a/c for few days :) I will call these guys without hesitation if I ever get stuck again. I urge you to give them a call and see what they can do for you.
