These guys are the BEST!! My review is for Dennis and Ken, specifically,as I havent really dealt with anyone else at this firm. Let me say again... These guys are the BEST!! Helpful, knowledgeable,and friendly. Communication is outstanding!! Dennis is a machine as far as taking care of my yearly accounting and tax returns. These two gentleman have REALLY helped me out! Do not hesitate to put your personal or business tax or accounting needs in their capable hands. You wont regret it! I cannot recommend Ken and Dennis highly enough!! Thanks guys!!
I have used the services of Sareen & Associates, Dennis and Ken, for my business and personal taxes for many years. My daughters are also having them prepare their tax returns. I will never switch. I first started working with Sareen & Associates a little over 14 years now, when my fiancé at the time, who is and still my wife, had an issue with her social security number and was being reported as deceased. After working through all the issues and the resubmissions of multi years of her returns, and still being very much alive, we have never gone anywhere since. Frankly, I would not even think of it.As time has passed and needs have changed, the Sareen & Associates team has been there for us exceeding our expectations at each turn. They have more than helped us through some rather complicated situations. Dennis is fantastic. Professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating with efficient and effective results. I cannot speak more highly of Dennis and the Sareen Team.
Sareen and Associates have done my taxes for 20 years. I would have no one else do my taxes. My taxes always include complicated real estate and investment information that require many additional computations and pages to the IRS and state tax submissions. Dennis Litchfield is my tax accountant and always makes me feel welcome in his office or on the phone when we discuss my tax situation. Dennis explains complicated tax files in plain English and always treats my question with importance and understanding. I dont know what I would do without Dennis and Sareen and Associates great knowledge about tax preparation. I highly recommend this great company and all of its expertise in tax preparation.

Viniti Sareen at Sareen & Associates - Payroll department is very responsive, tentative, and professional. I truly appreciate her quick turn-arounds respond on the time-sensitive payroll requests and inquiries. She always follow-up with a phone call or an email to confirm all questions were answered accordingly.

Do NOT recommend. Accountant assigned to us was condescending. Same as previous review, our CPA was bought out by Sareen. Previously paid about $180 for tax prep, was quoted $220 by Sareen, but when we got the finished forms, they were charging several hundred dollars. No courtesy call to warn us that their estimate was ridiculously low. Spent a great deal of time negotiating, but cut our losses and ended up spending over $300.
Great experience at the Winchester Va office!!!! Tax returns were done in a timely manner. It was very convenient to drop off information and in no time they were completed. My husband also uses Sareen for payroll needs and its handled very efficiently. He has been using them for years and they are very trustworthy.
Horrible experience. I would not advise ANYONE to do business with Sareen & Associates for personnel nor professional matters This firm constantly FAILS and gets the BASICS of bookkeeping and tax preparation incorrect. I am still awaiting the reconciliation and accompanying financial reports for my businesses (Im a franchisee) despite having paid them all of their 2018 fees. Every time I make an inquiry about my work product, they request more data from me. Its as if they are trying to get more time. This firm always request data in a piecemeal fashion. This firm never shows in advanced thought or preparation. In the past I have brought their mistakes to to their attention; they did not find the mistakes. Instead they passed along to me incorrectly prepared IRS/financial documents. If they seek to become your bookkeeping/tax preparers---RUN, do not answer their phone calls. Based on my experience with Sareen and Associates I will file a complaint with the IRS and well as the governing board of CPAs for the state of Virginia.
BEWARE! This company purchased the tax office of our former CPA. They agreed to take us on and we were told (in an email) that the tax prep cost would be about what it had been the previous year. On Saturday, April 13th we were told that the cost for the work would be double what wed previously paid. On Monday, April 15th my wife spoke to the owner. He claimed that the cost was due to additional forms associated with the new tax laws that had to be completed. My wife said that had we known this we wouldn’t have hired them. The owner rudely said that if we wanted to pay less he would just not submit the newer forms, which would result in our paying $1,500 of additional taxes. It was too late for us to make different arrangements and really had no other choice but to pay the inflated fee. They flat out lied, and then treated us poorly. Dont make the same mistake - take your business elsewhere.(Note: We’ve since notified the BBB.)Reply to owners comments (4/30/2019)The owner seems to think that we didn’t understand why they had to do more work, but that’s not the case. When we asked what the price would be in March, they - even though they are supposed tax experts – appear not to have known there would be more forms or worry about managing client expectations regarding a cost increase. Had we known, we would have shopped around. Given that it was their mistake, they should have honored the original quote instead of treating us rudely and sarcastically after the fact – essentially holding our return hostage until we paid twice the original estimate.
You do what you are good at and let professional do what they are good at. As a business owner you have many responsibilities and priorities. You dont have time or need to remember all old & new tax codes. They do it all for us - bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, taxes, etc...including multiple locations in different states. You will get individualize services and advise. I have been with them since they started the company and I don’t have plan to leave them even some one offers me same service for a half cost.
I have been with Sareen & Associates for 15 years and cant praise them enough. The entire staff is always pleasant and helpful. I recently purchased a new home and Ken Pohoniak went above and beyond to furnish information and speed up the process. The company is invaluable.

They do it all for us - bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, taxes, everything. We have multiple retail locations in different states. Weve been with them for almost two years now. Very attentive, individualized service.
They did a business plan for us and it showed exactly how much money we would need to open a store. We decided not to do that right now, but they still do our taxes and do a very thorough job.
Not trustworthy or professional. Way overpriced. Not very knowledgeable. Just went in for a brief 10-minute consultation during which the guy didnt answer any questions I asked then tried to bill us $295 for one hour to answer two questions (he didnt even know much & half his questions were irrelevant & I had already prepared my return). Ive met with maybe 4 CPAs in the are who were very helpful and gave clear answers for a half hour in fact, were not trying to push for business as well (and thats the way they actually got some of mine, I spend thousands a year (unfortunately) with accountants--they get it by doing real work, being trustworthy not wasting my time). He thought that it was late so that he could exploit and scare us into paying him for virtually nothing. I literally ran out. It is not hard to find a better CPA or tax preparer than these folks.
Sareen has done the accounting for the business for three years and they do a good job for what we pay.
They are fast and priced competitively for taxes.
Great business partner, efficient outfit.
Had to drop payroll with them because we couldnt understand anything they were saying. It was like calling tech support for your computer in India.
