It was an easy repair and now Im not dying in the Virginia summer awfulness. So grateful for Matthews expertise and care. The total price was cheaper than I anticipated considering the amount of time he spent looking at my system and making sure everything checked out before calling the job completed. I signed up for the maintenance membership because I was so impressed with this companys timeliness and attention to detail. Everything I hoped for from my HVAC installation – Dec 2020After our AC Unit (28 years old) finally gave up the ghost in early Fall, it was time for an HVAC overhaul. With the weather cooling and the old furnace still ticking over, the need wasn’t pressing so I was able to consult multiple HVAC companies for quotes for a new system.Twin Air were early favorites for several reasons. Its always a sinking feeling when the heating or AC stop working, but I am so grateful for a friends referral to Twin Air. They showed up the next day and were extremely polite, kept my home clean, and talked me through the issue. They also provided various options (and how long each option would give me on the existing system).There was no pressure on whether or not to fix or replace, they just provided a lot of information and gave me space to decide what I wanted to do. I also appreciated multiple quotes, and the pros & cons of each.We ended up getting an entirely new HVAC system (with steam humidifier). Its been whisper quiet, and made the home MUCH more comfortable in the ever-changing Virginia weather.Their pricing was very fair, and even offered up to 5 years 0% interest financing to help us weather the impact of an unexpected expense. Just wanted to share an experience we had with Twin Air LLC because it might help someone else. I know some of you have used this company with no problems unfortunately, we did not experience the same. We had a terrible experience with this company and found them to be very dishonest. We were charged $400 and we still do not have a working AC unit. When they first arrived they said a new part was installed on the unit. They also told us the AC needed to be replaced but the new part would buy us some time. We call them again the same day about 3 hours later because the unit did not restart at all. At their second visit they stated the system must have died completely. I asked what was the $400 charge for? Their response was the cost for the visit and the part they put in which didnt fix the problem. So basically we paid for their best guess and a part that might work. They said they would disconnect the AC from the house so it wouldnt pull anymore electricity and send us estimates for new units. We went outside 2 hours after they left again and found they never disconnect the unit from the house at all. This makes us wonder if they ever put in a new part or even perform any work. We never received the written estimates from them either as promised. We were using their preventive maintenance plan for several years. - Waste of money. This was the first time we called them with a problem and I must say we are disappointed in their service and mostly importantly disappointed in how dishonest they are. Shame on them for providing this type of service.

I have used Twin Air twice. They repaired an electric fan on my outdoor heat pump unit and ultimately replaced my heating / air conditioning unit with a new Lennox system. The new system works great!Each time I called Twin Air, their representatives arrived on time, were courteous and left my home as they found it.They provide quality, timely service at a fair price. I called to inquire about an issue I was having with my heating system.They are all just so nice there. My AC was not blowing cold air. Twin Air tech (Jose?) did a great job and found the issue very fast. The only part I didnt like was the high pricing. $115 to show up (like most folks). The actual repair was $181 for a $30 part and literally two minutes of repair work. Service was excellent but value was low.

In order to be more accurate and fair, we wanted to have a full season with our new Lennox system installed by Twin Air before writing this review. We are happy to say our home has never been cooler, our family more comfortable and our electric bill as low. Our positive experience with Twin Air began after numerous proposals to replace a 25 year old system. We were impressed by Twin Air from the first visit, when Tollie looked at our system did a load calculation and was not ashamed to say he needed input from his sons before moving forward. This was no ordinary HVAC replacement as they had to tear out an existing boiler/chiller system with yards of copper pipe and not once did they complain about the crawl space. What impressed us the most was that this team led by Jeremy really loved what they do and took pride in their work. They truly valued the challenge of replacing this system and came up with a clean, efficient and cost effective replacement. They worked with us on all aspects of the job, our schedule and did not nickel and dime us when little issues came up. Their office staff was also awesome as they handled all of the rebates and warranty registration for us. The service technicians are well trained and really know what they’re doing when it comes to installing furnaces and air conditioning systems!

I returned from Vacation this Sunday and my house was 90 degrees. The air conditioner was on but was blowing room temperature air. Twin air was open so I called them and explained the situation and they came to my house that evening. While waiting I did a little troubleshooting myself and found that the capacitor inside the unit seemed to be the culprit (I am an engineer but not an AC technician). The tech that came out confirmed that the capacitor was the problem and said that it would be $291 to for parts and replacement plus the $115 for diagnostics. The price seemed very high for me to replace a capacitor but desperate to get the house cooled down I agreed and paid. I went online and check the average price for this particular capacitor and it is a $15 dollar part (the most expensive one I found was $40) so lets call it an even $50 for arguments sake. That means that they charged $241 to replace this capacitor. Now for those of you who do not know, this capacitor has 2 wires on it. One that goes to the fan and one that goes to the compressor. They have sleeves on them so they slide on and off (no tools required to replace) and does not take more than 5 minutes (especially for an experience technician). The tech was at my house for no more than 30 minutes and the total cost was $406.The second issue was that replacing the capacitor did not even fix the issue. The technician also explained to me that I might also need coolant (it is an older system so it uses R22). He told me that the price would be $225 per pound and I would need between 3-4 pounds (roughly $900). I told them to not fill it because the AC is a closed system and should not need Gas. If it does there is probably a leak and it would be smarter for me to replace the unit. I checked the prices online or R22 and there are several sites (amazon included) that sell R22 for $480 for 30 pounds. That means the gas itself costs roughly $16 dollars per pound. So they are charging $209 to install it. Now I understand that you need to be trained and certified on how to install this gas but doing some research online, most places will charge around $80-$100 dollars per pound with instillation, which is well justified for their service, but $225 is highway robbery (Another company in my town told me they would do a complete fill with four pounds of R22 for $450 so half the price that this company is charging). This companys is without a doubt, taking advantage of its customers through its pricing.
