Swimming competition…why do we need to park about a quarter mile away when parking lot is empty? No space for parents to watch their kids beside on the outside area of the Pool behind the fence in the grass-mud because of the rain, and yeah bring your own chair if not, you’ll be standing the entire time. For what it looks like a high end location and gated community, not making good decisions (impressions) on visitors. Thumbs down..

First time here. Got a TeeOff deal for $39 on a holiday. The good. The staff were nice and helpful and the course layout is really challenging. Tight fairways and small greens always make for an interesting day. The bad, this course needs some TLC. Starting with the driving range and putting green. Rough shape. For the most part, the fairways were OK, but the greens were horrible. They had just been punched, but that wasnt the problem, some of them looked like Mortar practice ranges. Big divots without grass, big stretches of mud... just not in good shape. The drainage in the sand traps need to be addressed as well. Lots of standing water. I think with some real maintenance work, this course could be one of the best in town...mostly

Staff was great..course layout good...Greens were so slow and shaggy it ruined the whole experience. When the cart guy got my clubs I asked if the greens were ok wanting to be sure they werent just punched or top dressed......he said...yes, I think they may have mowed them today. I thought that was a pretty good joke...what course doesnt mow every day?? Well apparently this one doesnt.

Golf course is in good shape except for the last two greens. My biggest problem today was the playing time. Took over 5 hours to finish my round. Needs better course playing management on days like today. In all I will be back to play again. Fun course and challenging.

Great! The course is not overly difficult. There is water are a lot of the holes, but, if you hit your ball right, youll be ok. Its a real pretty course too. And its reasonably priced at $70 per person. I really enjoyed it!

We were there for a wedding and resection, very nice place. Beautiful surroundings and all the people working there were great. Had a great time!!

Very nice Golf course. So many great holes.. Its Paramount that you put the ball in the fair way. The approaches are very soft so you have to carry the green.

Very nice layout. The scenery is beautiful. Love seeing all the different custom homes while playing a wonderful golf course.

First hole fairway was soaked with all the recent rain. Cart died on the second hole, but was quickly fixed with a call to the pro shop. Course was in pretty good condition. The 17th hole was pretty sad. There must be a better way to put a temporary hole together. The price was right and everyone was nice. I’ll be back.

Great course spread out over a big area. Lots of woods/nature areas in between holes that help to spread out the different groups. Golf carts have gps, bluetooth, yardage to pin, and can call the office or beverage cart to you. Theres a driving range (lake with floater balls) and chipping/putting area. Greens were pretty quick today but some tee boxes need more grass or need to move the tees to a more grassy part of the tee box. Lots of wildlife, I saw a gator, rabbit, and a ton of birds along the course. Would definitely recommend playing a round here.

Living in Cheval its definitely convenient to have this great place available within the community. Chef Gerry is definitely making sure to keep things fresh with his specials, as well as some good staples like the delicious burger. The bar is also great with a decent beer selection and good friendly service. Id recommend this family friendly place to anyone.

Played Golf here on Friday. They were way out in front and extremely honorable with social distancing guidelines, the course was in excellent shape, and we had a great time. Thank you so much for the first class experience, especially now. Ill always support this great golf course/club

We hosted a Tea Party Bridal Shower in Cheval’s Sunset Room. Everyone raved about the food. Chef Gerry prepared an exquisite High Tea complete with an assortment of scones, tea sandwiches, and desserts. Even the side salad was special!Dina and Krista made our event so easy with their attention to detail in the set-up and excellent service.In addition, Krista was very accommodating as we struggled to schedule a safe and socially distant event to include larger tables, masks and hand sanitizers. We cannot express our appreciation enough to Chef Gerry, Krista and Dina. Thank you for making this Shower such a success!

Very nice.course but currently under construction in a number of areas. Want to come back and check it out when completed. Due.to recent heavy rain the course was soggy and difficult to figure the speed of different holes. Play time was right over 4 hours. Small pro shop, didnt find restaurant. Not sure about quality. Will check it out. ..

Had the whole course to ourselves, the fairways were great and the greens were decent considering they were just aerated. The management clearly cares about this course. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful fundraiser event here in March for the Carrollwood Service League. We had an amazing lunch for 162 guests prepared by the awesome Chef followed by a beautiful fashion show and huge silent auction. Krista was a pleasure to work with and covered every detail for us. This was our 3rd year hosting our annual event at Cheval and we hope to return next year! The flow of everything went beautifully and the presentation of the meal was outstanding.

Beautiful place, food was phenomenal, service was amazing, entertainment and overall vibe will keep me coming back for sure. Highly recommend!!

Good course. Good layout. A lot of doglegs. Tough track when you do not know where to hit the ball (even with GPS). Course was a little wet, but did not have any restrictions (just a few spots that you could not drive). Nice GPS on the cart (would be great if all courses had them). Rough was thick. It was hard to find your ball if it ended up in the lettuce. We only saw the beverage cart once the entire round. It was a hot day so they need to have someone out there rolling more often. Other than that, Ill be out there again.

I found these people to be dishonest and have no use for them. Due to Covid the club was unable to define details of its swim camp but encouraged enrollment with a promise to provide details later. We ultimately learned the $480 camp had been whittled down to a mere 45-minute lesson each day for 5 days, not a camp by any standard. As that did not meet our expectations we notified Cheval of our withdrawal and desire for a refund. Cheval denied the refund claiming a 45-minute lesson qualified as a camp and asserted a no-refund policy.

Challenging golf course, quick pace of play, and the Starter is a great guy. In fact, hes an awesome guy and fun to talk to. Ive been to this club 3 times, and plan to play more often in 2018. They are currently working on getting the driving range back as its bound up in legal issues, and once they do, this is easily a 5 star location.The carts are GPS enabled, the clubhouse is top notch, and the greens are fast. Highly recommend.

Brought my son over to play a round of golf. Was surprised to find all of the great improvements that have been made to this course and the facilities. The course is in great shape and very challenging. Afterwards, we stayed and ate lunch at the restaurant. Food and service were amazing! Cant wait to come back.

I made a tee time to play last week and the course was in phenomenal condition. The greens were rolling true and the price was very affordable. Pace of play was not a problem, and the Prime 19 restaurant was very convenient to eat at following the round. I would recommend this course and restaurant facility to all looking for a kind staff with a wonderful golf course in the Tampa area.

Great layout. Totally private so getting on is difficult if youre not a member. Lots of water. Menu is good. Servings are bit small but all and all it about the golf and the course is beautiful.

You need to come and see all of the amazing improvements to the Cheval Golf & Athletic Club! Being under new ownership has brought many new updates and exciting changes to an already beautiful facility and course! There is something for everyone at this course. They have recently added an adult par 3 course or junior par 62 course. The yardages per hole range from 92 - 176 yards. They also added a golf course at 5,300 yards in length. These additions will give Cheval GAC a total of 7 sets of tees. Something for everyone!

Nice layout. Always in great shape and the speed of play is ALWAYS under 4 hours. There is nothing I can say about Cheval that hasnt already been said. This is one of my favorite local courses.

Beautiful, challenging course with friendly staff. GPS unit in my cart didnt work, and routing from one green to the next tee was not clearly marked a couple of times. Lots of water, be sure to bring extra balls!

Love this place and would highly recommend it to everyone! Cheval Golf and Athletic Club is my home away from home. The Tennis Club offers 9 fully lit and well maintained Har-Tru clay tennis courts. The club is well-managed, so members can always get a court. The tennis instructions as well as private lessons are truly phenomenal not only for kids but for all ages. The pros are well-informed and care about their students improvement while making sure the classes are incorporated with fun drills and exciting games. Kids love it! The classes are great for after school kids activities. This club is one of the best places in the area to take kids to. They are getting stronger every week and you can see results almost right away. Great place to involve the kids into sport.The club also provides after school programs and camps. Also, their fitness program is fantastic with more than 60 group fitness classes and personal training. The fitness instructors are very kind and helpful and they make sure that you can attend your favorite classes by providing different times throughout the day (check for yourself) . Cheval Golf and Athletic Club is located in a great and beautiful location, only about 25 minutes to downtown Tampa. All of the facilities have been incredible and the gym is always clean. The staff is always so welcoming and accommodating. It is always a pleasure to be around. Five stars to this Club!

Reasonable price for above average course

Food is beyond disappointing, we used Uber Eats and it all arrived wrong and missing most of the order. We were even missing sides and the Grilled cheese which came with lettuce and tomatoes just had cheese on bread.

The clubhouse feels worn out and dated. The cocktails were so so.
