My car was towed by this company and upon dropping it off there was a LARGE dent in the driver side door that was not there prior. I called to ask questions and got the run around. They finally spoke with the driver who claims “he never got inside my car how could he have done it” like what kind of excuse is that? I asked if they were required to take pictures prior to leaving with my vehicle. They told me yes and then refused to provide me with said photos. HORRIBLE COMPANY! And not to mention the gentlemen I spoke with was beyond rude.

Got a flat tire on the side of the road and called Red Raider Wrecker! Within 10 minutes of calling, help had arrived to fix the tire! The guy that came to help was very nice and changed the tire quickly!

My vehicle got towed and I went to pick it up and asked why it got towed. A driver from the company then ran in the office and started to yell and threaten to beat me up over getting my truck out of the impound after I paid. Very unprofessional company.

The staff yell at people coming in trying to ask how they got stuck with a 400 dollar tow bill even when they have a parking pass. They will tow you even after 5 mins. A lot of people around here have deep issues with their professionalism. I just didn’t believe it until I heard the lady at the service desk screaming on some poor kids video. Totally should apologize to that kid. He even still paid, I wouldn’t have.

This is the most unprofessional business that I have dealt with in a long time. The employee working there is completely rude and not helpful at all. Does not give information unless you know exactly what to ask for. If this is your first time being towed you would have no idea what to ask for. My daughter had her car towed and the employee would not talk to us on the phone. We are 5 hours away so we could not talk in person. Employee would not tell us how to fill out some form so we had to get it notarized 3 times. This place is WORSE than the DMV!!!!

What they will do if your childs car if towed:Make you pay AND initial that you do not hold them responsible for damaging your car before allowing you to see and inspect the condition of the car. They prey on college students - obviously NOT Texas Tech Red Raider student friendly - they will harm your childs car and not allow child to inspect the car until your child has paid and signed to accept car as is. My child just moved into a new apartment and was learning where to park when it got towed. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL THEY SHOW YOU WHAT DAMAGE THEY DID TO THE CAR FIRST then get a lawyer because they will destroy it.

Broke down 31miles north of Lubbock called red raider they got me and my wife back to Amarillo 126 miles in the other direction for what they quoted me not a penny more was there in under 30 minutes the driver Billy was very professional about loading my truck taking extra caution for my brand new wheels and tires. Excellent service would recommend time and time again. Kim went out of her way to make sure I received the help we needed. Thank you all at Red Raider.

I parked out front of my office building at work when I noticed the red tow truck outside, I was trying to carry this huge pot of chili and didn’t pay attention and forgot to put my parking permit in the window. As I was struggling to carry my chili for the potluck that day, I hear the trucks engine as is sped thru the parking lot, I looked back and noticed him pulling my 1970s gremlin onto the back of the truck! I ran back and dropped my chili all over the parking lot. Long story short, it cost me $10,000 to get my car back. 0/5 stars.

I had an absolutely horrendous experience here. If you’re a landlord or business owner who currently uses or is considering using this service PLEASE READ THIS.I was told by my leasing office that I could load my uhaul trailer to move out within the gated parking garage so I didn’t have to worry about my stuff being stolen. I am a tenant and have paid for a parking pass. My truck and trailer were towed regardless. I showed up very early and was the first person in the door, I offered to show ample evidence that I was rightfully in possession of my truck, but was told I needed to take forms to a notary to get my stuff. I did that, returned with the forms, and before the worker even began reading the form she was shaking her head no, and threw the form back at me and said to do it again because there was a small mistake that was clearly irrelevant. At this point she had been incredibly abrasive and rude throughout all of our interactions. I re did the form, and she claimed I had doctored the last document and refused to accept it. I re did the form again which she finally accepted, so she asked me to fill out some paperwork.I dropped my ID on the countertop because there was a plexiglass shield preventing me from handing it to her directly. She then told me that because I dropped my card, she was refusing to give me my truck back for as long as legally possible to teach me a lesson. For context, she was aware I need to be half way across the country for work tomorrow or risk losing my job, and simply out of spite she kept my car for far longer than necessary. Additionally, the owner of the vehicle called the office MULTIPLE TIMES with proof of title and insurance and to confirm I was rightfully in possession of the car and she was hung up on before she could speak. I called the police, who informed me that this was an extremely regular occurrence. I called my apartment building, who also said this happens frequently. Overall I was there from 8am-3pm, and now have to drive to California and pray I make it in time to work.I have never in my life had to deal with such power hungry and abusive people in a professional setting, and I will never move in to an apartment that utilizes their services again. I don’t care how nice the apartment is, I will not risk myself or my friends having to deal with this company. Please, if you have a choice in which towing service you allow on your premises, if you value your tenants or customers even slightly, you should not use red raider wrecker service. Absolutely horrendous.

Parked in the guest parking and was still towed. tell me how that’s fair then when I called she said yeah we have your car and then I asked why did you take the car it was parked in the guest parking she said I don’t know they don’t tell me. Do you think if somebody got towed they might have a reason for it but no they just go around and tow people.

This is the worst towing company in Lubbock. I usually have to deal with them when someone parks in my reserved spot. Right from the start, they sound like they do not want to be there. Usually an older lady named Kim answers, takes your information, and gives you the third degree about it actually being your spot and if you can prove it. Then they usually say it wont be long. When you ask, theyll tell you 45 minutes, but I have not once had them show up to a call, and sometimes Ill be waiting for hours for a tow. When you call and ask, Kim again sounds annoyed and says that theyre extremely busy. No towing company should take so long to pick up a car, and if they happen to, they should at least be considerate and nice about it. I recommend using someone else if you have the choice. Lubbock Wrecker is typically a lot faster.

Had the misfortune of needing to visit a towing company after promising a friend that her car would be fine. Went in to go pay which turned out to be difficult at first with needing to verify ownership of vehicle with registration and insurance in glove compartment, but the lady who helped us was attentive and helped us process all of the paperwork we would need. I would like to never return to this business again, but at least the customer service was good.

I have a broke ankle and there was no handicapped parking spots nearby, so I parked in a regular spot. Where are we suppose to park to visit friends at the Villages at Overton Park? The safe areas are over half a mile away! I cant walk that far limping with a walking boot. Also, there was a 13 minute time difference on the invoice from when it was called in to when my car was gone. How can a tow truck get there and hook up a car in 13 minutes?? It is literally a scam and I wouldnt be surprised at all if the apartment complex is getting money per car towed. When I got there this morning there was at least 10 other college students there that got towed last night.Also, read what you are signing! They wanted me to intial that if my car was damaged from being towed that they were not liable. I refused to sign that. I couldnt even see my car beforehand. DONT INTIAL THAT BS.Im taking them to court. This is all so fed up!!

I initially contacted RRW as I was informed that they would install no parking signs in my parking lot. They sent someone out within the week. He said he would get back with me. After a month I called them to find out what the issue was. Then I was told to find someone else because they were busy with all the Hail damage in and around town. I called them 3 more times over a period of months but I could never get any cooperation. They said they would be there and they were getting the signs made. Finally yesterday I called and demanded to speak to the manager again. He was nice and calmed me down a bit and proceeded to tell me he would be at my business after lunch that day. Of course no one ever showed and no one ever called. Pitiful customer service. I will find a new provider but I think its appalling that the manager would lie to me and tell me he would be there and not show up or call. I give them a big F as well as my middle finger.UPDATE******This past weekend they came and installed our No Parking signs. They look very nice. I want to say Thank You for finally getting that job done.

My friend and I parked in an apartment complex to see a friend. Came out, our car was towed. This place scams people out of their money, and I cannot believe they’re still in business. We went to get the car, but even though they’re towing 24 hours, they are NOT OPEN 24 HOURS, despite what their website says - which isn’t legal.... if they tow 24 hours, they have to be open 24 hours, which they are not. Not to mention the prices are absolutely ridiculous - $300 for parking in an apartment complex (that doesn’t even make logical sense?) that we didn’t even stay in for more than three hours. This place is sketchy, breaking laws, and getting away with it. If your car gets towed from here, I’m so sorry.

This entire company is a complete sham. They towed a vehicle belonging to a resident in MY household because apparently there is a NEW clause that states they cannot park on the grass. They did NOT park on the grass however, they parked on the driveway and their tire was LITERALLY 1 or 2 inches on the grass and the no parking on the grass clause was NOT in my lease as I have been there for several years now. After bringing this information to the managers, they stated they would have Raider Wrecker give me my money back and since then it has been B.S excuse after B.S excuse, followed by their disgusting inner office assistant / aid..WHOEVER by the name of Susie / Suzie and her nonexistant customer service skills. She never knows when the managers will be in the office, she doesnt know how to contact them, and doesnt know their work schedule so it seems like to me she shouldnt have that job.

This towing company is a complete sham nothing absolutely nothing about it is legitimate. Several things they filled out on the form they gave me describing how and when they towed my vehicle didn’t even add up or make any ANY sense at all in regards to the towing signs etc. So I will be taking legal action against them. I’m writing this review so no one else gets victimized by this company who claims to be the “boy scouts of towing” and offer “superior” help. Yeah freaking right. The lady who I spoke to on the phone was so rude I was in shock as someone who’s worked in customer service I can say that they have absolutely zero customer service she talked to me like I was a child. Which leads me to my next problem they obviously pray off of college students because they think our “mommy and daddy” will just pay for it when in reality I had to use my rent money to pay an OUTRAGIOUS amount of money that doesn’t even match up with the paperwork. How has this company not been sued? Disgusting. You won’t be open much longer I’ll be promising that.

Owner Scott Bickel, wrecker James Lindsey and the entire company are dubious at best. They charge more than legally allowed in Texas so I have notified the Texas Attorney General, the FTC and the BBB. It seems that some of the local businesses are working in cahoots with this company and get a little bit of a finders fee for contracting with them. When I contacted Ashley, the apartment manager at Raider Walk, she claimed she was unaware of their predatory towing practices but this cant be the first shes heard of this. When a business cant be sensible and decent, Ive always had luck solving these issues with the Attorney General so I eagerly await for this companys day in court.

It must be so sad to know youre going to wake up and go to work to just screw people over all day everyday. The owner of this company will pick and choose who to tow based on what you look like and how old you are, he said that to my face after I questioned why he warned these two boys to move their car, but didnt warn me when I left my car in a spot for MAYBE four minutes. I wasnt even gone long enough for them to leave with my car, I stood right there and watched them load it up. He admitted he discriminated against me because Im not an adult to my face! Who runs a company like that? These people should seriously be ashamed of themselves. I wasnt going to get over it until I did what I could to let the public know how these people like to do business. If youre in a bind, I strongly recommend you take your hard earned money elsewhere, dont let these snakes get ahold of it! Theyre not even worth the 1 star.

Trying to take advantage and charge ridiculous prices

I was stuck out in BFE and Rick saved my life. This was the only company who would even come out and do a winching before 8 am in the morning which really sucks if you get stuck in the mud at 4 am. When I finally called red raider wrecker Rick was there within the hour. Rick also tried to make me not feel like such a dumbass for getting stuck in the mud for four hours which was really nice of him. If youre reading this Rick youre my new favorite person.

If I could give them 0 stars out of 5 I would. I got towed at my apartment complex because I parked in the covered parking spot on the other side of the complex for literally less than 2 hours because my friend called me at 2:30am saying she left her inhaler in my car and was having a panic attack. When I went over I went upstairs and calmed her down and left the apartment at 4 am only to find my car missing. No one left a note or anything so I started freaking out. Basically, the clubhouse didnt open till 10am so we waited till 10 to call only to find out that my car had been towed. I called Red Raider Wrecker and the lady was extremely rude on the phone so I had very low expectations of this place right off the bat. When I reached there I explained the situation to her and she said verbatim it doesnt matter give us the $291.65 and take your car and leave. Marla (rude) and the other lady at the front desk was incredibly rude. I would never recommend this to anyone and would never encourage anyone to give this place business.

Customer service was extremely unhelpful and rude. The place also looked sketchy and only seem to care about taking as much money as possible. 0/10 do not recommend them for anything and be on the watch for these thieves towing.

My car was picked up FROM MY OWN APARTMENT because my parking tag feel from my rear view mirror to the floor. When trying to reason with them they hung up on me, and told me I would absolutely have to pay, no matter what. My car was picked up at 6:27pm (after they say theyre closed so I couldnt pick it up that day, they said to come the next morning) and when I went to pick it up the next day, they charged me for 2 days of storage! One for the day they picked up, and one for the next day when I got my car! What a scam.

Raider Wrecked decided to tow my car in an abandoned fast food lot where I have parked for the past 3 months while at class at Tech. When I called they did not even know if they had my car and I needed it as I had a test and work that day. $300 for parking in an ABANDONED PARKING LOT completely wasted.

My wife had her vehicle towed from the Overton Plaza shopping center while she was in Starbucks. Starbucks is part of the Overton Plaza as the signs are posted off of Mac Davis lane when you turn into Starbucks. She was parked in front of the old ruby tequilas. The manager of Starbucks even said they were part of Overton plaza parking and should not be towed. When we called Red Raider Wrecker company the lady was rude and just kept repeating we were not getting our car back and we have to pay almost $300 to get out even after telling her we had pics of the signs where it clearly includes Starbucks as part of Overton parking. She told us that Starbucks has their own parking even though the sign clearly states they are a part of Overton and the Starbucks manager also told us this. Then she claimed I could not even park in front of the old Ruby Tequilas if I was going into Red Raider Outfitter. She ended up hanging up on us! I knew then that their operation is a racket! My wife missed a business meeting as she was stranded. She grabbed an Uber to the towing company and the lady again was rude and said she was not getting her car back without paying the $300.00. Finally we said we would report to the news stations about this and have the manager of Starbucks back it up. All of the sudden they changed their mind and let us have the car and paid us back cash for the Uber. After all of this they asked us to please not leave a negative review, but after thinking about it I dont want them to take advantage of someone else. The Starbucks manager was great and called to check in and make sure we had our car back and to make sure they didnt charge us.

Two words: predatory towing. My car was towed despite having a parking pass. When I got the car back, my tag that was TAPED to the window was removed and my dashcam was unplugged and the memory card romoved. They wouldnt let me see the vehicle until I payed and claimed they had no idea what happened to my camera. No pictures. Nothing. This company is a sham.

Never shows up to tow vehicles its been 3 weeks now. This is the second time Ive had this issue.

Horrible wrecker who ripped a hole in the underside of our daughters brand new car while getting it out of the mud it was stuck in. They did not hook to the tow rings based on the dealership assessment of the damage which in no way was caused by mud. They hooked up further back behind the tow rings in the front. After they hooked her car up they would not pull it out until she signed that they were released of all liability of damage. She had no choice and knew mud could damage the car but had no idea negligence in how they hooked it up would tear it up. When she called them with the insurance claim she was told have your attorney send a letter and they hung up on her. We can assure you legal action will be taken on this! She accepts full responsibility for being in mud which could have scratched her car or messed up alignment but never would she have dreamed a tow truck would tear a hole through the metal under her car all the way through the passenger floor on a 4 month old car that was brand new. What business hangs up on a college student and says have your attorney send a letter? Completely unprofessional and the worst customer service to hang up on a student.
