UMA is the headquarter of Wushu Sanda National Team and also has an excellent BBJ program. The best of both worlds: the best stand up skills and the best ground skills. But more so the staff is professional, very well experienced, and just an awesome environment for youth, teens, college students and adults!

Coach Lee and coach bueno are excellent! Both my kids and I are loving sanda and bjj I suggest trying both combat sports.

No disrespect to the other places in town. This is the place! Coach Lee is like no other. Cory, Bruce and Doug are beyond amazing. They dont just simply prepare you for a matchup....they prepare you for life!

Douglas Bueno is such an amazing Jiu Jitsu instructor! I travel for work from Dallas, but every time Im in town I dont hesitate to come in and train. Hes so amazingly technical and all of his students are extremely skilled and respectful. Absolutely one of the best schools in the area!

I came hear for two trial workouts this week. The environment hear is great. The instructors are friendly, know their stuff and look the part. You wont be being trained by some out of shape instructor. These guys are active and are very engaged with all the students. You are going to feel like they want you to be there, and that they want you to learn. Their is an emphasis on technique and precision. You wont be told good job if youre not doing good. I love that about this place.In terms of membership, its a straightforward contract, I think its affordable for what you get from the place. Its not planet fitness so dont expect that. You can also not expect for them to put pressure on you to make a decision. Like I said, youre going to feel like they want you there, but it wont feel like theyre putting pressure on you. Theyre honest, theyre sincere, and theyre going to have me as a member until I move from Lubbock.

I was in Lubbock for 24 hours on business, and had the opportunity to stop in for their evening class. Everyone was super welcoming and made me feel right at home. There was zero “tough guy ego” and everyone rolled hard. The instruction was detailed and specific. Douglas was patient and incredibly helpful. His energy was very positive and infectious. If you are in Lubbock and have a chance, get a class in here!!!

Great place that works with kids in the best ways. They are patient with the kids and still push them to try hard.

This is a great group of guys who show respect and very noticeably teach with their hearts! I had my son there for several months and now we are headed back home to South FL. But otherwise would of gladly kept him there.Bring your kids here you wont regret it.

If you want learn some serious martial arts and self-defense skills, UMA is the right place. All coaches there are professionals and will try their best to help you to improve. They also provide after school lessons where your kids can learn good martial arts and good discipline.

UMA offers the best and most decorated staff in lubbock and possible the area. With coach lee teaching sanshou and muay thai, and Douglas Bueno teaching Bjj they are the most complete training center in lubbock! they are great with kids and family oriented.
