Im not a fan of title companies in general or this one in particular. Real estate is one of those sectors, like health care, where it is difficult to shop around, and prices are, not surprisingly, much higher than they should be. Realtors steer you to one title company or another and you often arent even asked which one you want to use.Just to provide a concrete example: we closed a real estate transaction at this location last year. They charged a $300 Lender Loan Package fee... but we paid cash - there was no loan! Yes we did ask about it and were told that it would be charged anyway. Without a major disruption of the transaction, there is no recourse, and they know it.

Stay away from Stewart Title Company. They neglected to identify all of the recorded documents in our Title Policy which resulted in significant information not being disclosed to us.
