I garden avidly, I met the very nice owners before I started in the garden dept. Of a local home Depot and Urban Garden has a lot of QUALITY & variety that is beautifully nurtured and organic. Some plants & products that we are still waiting to receive in our garden department are already available at the urban garden center. Such as sphagnum peat moss and sweet potato vines. I have an eye for healthy plants when I buy starts for my own organic gardening, they have lots of vegetable varieties that are stout & ready to transplant. So, while I may enjoy my job at another place, I also let customers know honestly when I have seen what they want at a different store, & its good to keep things local. They do a nursery the way an organic gardener would prefer, all the way down to the beneficial nematodes, mantis, and ladybugs. :)I add very few photos that I took for note to self purpose, but also, its because I havent seen the same quality or color of particular plants elsewhere & there is way more than flowers there.

Excellent Nursery stock, wonderful vegetables, some very unique plants. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I purchased this green zebra tomato plant from them. It has flourished and is covered with tomatoes. I know good Nursery stock when I see it these plants were very healthy and robust. I will be returning.

Saw their sign on the way to Liquid Mechanic Brewery and had to stop in. Their selection was weak on vegetables but strong on landscaping plants. Of particular note were their climbing Vines, including two honeysuckle varieties Ive not seen anywhere else.

Fresh Christmas trees and some seriously cute decorations inside. Also small living trees, garlands, and poinsettias. Very friendly staff, terrific place!

Tried getting mulch at 3 different places near here in September. They were my third attempted yesterday - but won my business because they 1) answered the phone and 2) had it in stock. Perhaps I will try these guys first next time. They seem to be more geared toward helping me.

The outdoor plants, bushes and trees were all in very good shape as well as organized. I appreciate the organization as it’s easier to maneuver through. I was happily surprised at the indoor plants. Upon entering, there is a sign directing you to light level requirements on plants. It’s super helpful, especially if you’re still a beginner like myself. The plant selection was decent given its smaller size. Everything was super happy and thriving. I chatted up the salesperson and she was very helpful as well as just plain nice. I definitely recommend it if you are in the market for tiny succulents to 6’+ fiddle leaves. I can’t what for the holidays to go grab a tree from them!

My husband and I stumbled across Urban Garden a few years ago in our quest for our first Christmas Tree together and we LOVE them! We’ve gone back 4 years in a row and will continue to do so. Their trees are high quality, their service is impeccable, and they are always very nice and helpful. They make our experience easy and fun every time. In addition, we love their unique ornaments and just this year I discovered their selection of plant pots that are unique and gorgeous and very well priced. We HIGHLY recommend them and we love supporting their small business.

My seedlings did not take this year, so I rushed in for started veggies. So far, they are thriving and healthy! More expensive than Walmart or Home Depot, but quality is worth it! Staff was also very friendly.

I love this place! Large selection of gorgeous plants, helpful and knowledgeable staff, beautiful planters and garden decor. We bought a 10 year old Audrey Ficus this Fall and it is an absolute showstopper in the living room. The woman helping us had hand picked it from the wholesaler because it was so unique and she gave us detailed care instructions. It is thriving thanks to her tips!

Rude and over priced

I moved to the area in 2018 & we bought our Christmas tree here- it was great! We made the mistake of trying a different “tree farm“ this year & were NOT impressed (we were not talked to by anyone, the selection was not good & they were way overpriced), so we went back to Urban Garden immediately where we were greeted as soon as we arrived. Even though it was cold, we had GREAT service & they have a great selection of quality trees! We will definitely be back more often!

Overpriced and not healthy plants and also very rude staff. Either the owner pays for good reviews or reviews herself with 5 stars under different accounts. Save your time and take business elsewhere. Buyer be ware. Also they claim that the plants are locally grown, but in fact they are transported from other states.

I love how everytime I come here there is something different. It is always so clean and organized. Best garden center! They buy all of their annuals locally as well which makes a big difference.

Due to COVID, no returns. My first trip to the store, spent $250+, bought an extra bag of Soil Pep on recommendation of my pro. They never said anything at checkout, refused the return of one unopened bag for $13.Won the battle, lost the war, going elsewhere to buy 2x $2,500 trees that I saw there for the front of the house. I saw poor reviews on Yelp as well. Too bad. Nice people just doing what they are told by the owner and of course they arent incentivized to think about the larger business. Overall fail.

Our seedlings did not make it this year; so we ended up making a rushed trip. There was a huge selection and everyone was so friendly! We found exactly what we needed and could get most of it outside that day!

My company needed some new plants for our office so we went to check out Urban Garden. I was totally blown away by both their selection and knowledge, they made the process of buying the perfect plants so enjoyable. Urban Garden is now my new go-to for everything plant related. They clearly love what they do and it shows in the care they give their plants and their customers!

I purchased a Blue Spruce from the Urban Garden Center. It was delivered and planted today! The crew consisted of Drew and Ryan. They were the best! They prepared the location for planting, brought the tree into the back-yard without a hitch, and once put into place, made sure that it had plenty of new fertilizer, and water; and arranged each and every decorative stone as it was prior to the planting.....then they actually used my hose to wash down any remaining dirt or debris. I couldnt be more pleased/satisfied with their skill, services and professionalism. Thank you so much!

Urban Gardens is my go-to place for plants that are not treated with neonicotinoids which are killing our bee population. They have an excellent choice of flowers, trees, vegetables and I enjoy going there mid to late summer to find the same plants they have earlier in the season. I appreciate this business being in our Lafayette community!

We just bought a beautiful 8’ Fraser Christmas tree at Urban Garden. So difficult to choose as there were so many beauties on display. Given trees seem so much more expensive this year, it was reasonably priced too.

My daughter bought a tomato plant as a Mothers Day gift for me last spring here. This is the ONLY garden center she found selling ORGANIC cherry tomatoes in our area. I stopped in today for a tomato for this season as last years produced so well. Their retail area is clean, well organized & stocked with a good variety of healthy plants, lovingly cared for. The temperature inside was comfortably cool considering todays outside temperature and we were helped cheerfully by Meghan. I shopped here some years ago when I first moved to Lafayette and remember the grounds and greenhouse were pretty run down. I dont know how long these owners have been here but the difference is striking. I have been to MANY garden centers and am so pleased to discover this lovely place which is just the right size for an Urban gardener. I will definitely be back.

Been coming to Urban Garden for Christmas trees for the past 5-6 years... hot chocolate, friendly staff, really helpful netting and packaging that gets your tree home in good shape with minimal mess, and makes packing up and disposing after the holidays very easy. First, I love the name of this place. Second, Their professional loading was the attraction for me. I was dreading how to get the car onto the tree and home in one piece. Buy your tree here! You’ll love it!

Reasonable prices. Plants are well cared for and staff is engaging, welcoming and knowledgeable. A lot of people park on the street, but there is designated parking on the gravel so dont be afraid to pull in, especially if youre picking up bags of soil. So far our plants are still alive and at the very least, I now know how to care for them. Was in and out in 20 minutes and I took my time.

Weve been getting our Christmas tree here for a few years now and we absolutely love the quality of the trees, competitive pricing, and the super friendly and knowledgeable staff. We always get our tree a few days after Thanksgiving and these trees last!! We could probably leave them up until March and they would still look great!! They always make it a fun experience with the great Christmas music playing and hot cocoa offering:)

Kinda pricey (but up to $20 off with coupon and review) but much better selection of trees than other places we checked out before here. Plus very nice people, a great sleigh setting for photos, hot chocolate and coloring books given to my kids. Made it a fun experience.

I have been shopping with the urban gardens for a few summers now. They have a beautiful selection of plants and they have some that have been winterized Which make them a little tougher in used to our challenging weather. Urban Garden has been my husband’s and my go-to garden center this spring and summer as we’ve been working on a couple landscaping projects around our property. Eric is very knowledgeable and has been super helpful in offering tips on how to plan out our spaces and pointing us toward plants that will thrive in different areas of the yard. They have a great variety of plants that have been selected because of their reliability in Colorado’s climate, their house plant selection is unique and reasonably priced, and the staff is always friendly and helpful!

I visited a month or so ago and they didn’t have house plants in yet- but I stopped in yesterday and they were filled. I went in looking for a string of hearts but came out with a string of bananas.Their prices are a little on the higher side for some plants (succulents) But they are a small business.The String of Bananas I got is most definitely worth the price. For approximately a 8in hanging pot with some strings reaching 3ft and a fairly lush plant, it was only $30. If you went to a Home Depot you could probably get the same 8in pot with less than half of the plant at the same price!Staff was friendly too!

Very helpful in helping us pick out a couple high quality spruce trees for our yard. Trees were delivered and planted right on time with no issues whatsoever. Could not have asked for a better experience.

I have limited plant knowledge, so I came in few a few specific parameters (low light, cat-safe) and asked A LOT of questions. The woman who helped me was SO HELPFUL and patient with me. She went above and beyond helping me research which plants wouldnt be toxic for my plant-nibbling kitties. I ended up purchasing a beautiful bromeliad, and will definitely go back when I decide to invest on some more greenery.

Locally grown! Does it get better than this? Its a garden center for the pure joy of selling plants! Not like Home Depot where they use the plants to draw you in and add onto your home improvement cart. This is a garden center because they love PLANTS and the selection proves that. You can find every kind of shrub, perennial and even indoor plants. The quality of plants is nothing like the Depot stores. This is where I build a beautiful garden - how about you!?

I used to live in Lafayette and used this nursery all the time. Ive moved to Boulder now and havent found anything comparable. The yard I built in Lafayette was beautiful, thanks to the healthy plants and experienced advice I received here. Ive been disappointed in the selection and service in Boulder and will be going back to Urban Garden from now on.

The urban garden is an upscale tree and plant nursery. Only the finest quality plants and products are sold here, from native, drought resistant species to popular classics. The owners/operators are very friendly and experts in their field, and are quick to provide helpful growing tips.

We get our Christmas tree here each year. Good quality, but $50 for delivery (house is less than a mile away!) seems a bit extreme.

Went in for a hanging planter, left with so much more. Their houseplant selection is amazing and all of the plants are in such great shape. They often have a variety of sizes available and they even special ordered a few for us. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

Careful- plants will die and they will not stand by your purchase. Customer service as good as the plants, awful. Spent hundreds of dollars and they don’t care or offer to help, disappointing.In response to Urban Garden reply:Eric and Daniela- what your “degree” or certificate in gardening obviously missed is in customer service. I wrote three times asking for assistance, and maybe not in the first 30 days after a purchase that exceeded $400 and included this plant, along with 3 others, your garden soil and a planter. I realize that after a plant is stressed and transplanted it might take some time to rebound, which I incorrectly assumed would happen. As the plant got worst I wrote seeking assistance and was told I was overwatering, I don’t believe this was the case but adjusted accordingly. After taking your advice and not seeing a change I wrote again and was offered 20% off my next plant when you routinely send out coupons for discounts far greater than this. Assuming with 20 years in the industry you have figured out that the plants you sell for $100, cost less than $10? If you were as good at running your business, as you are at looking into other peoples, you would have realized all this could have been avoided by offering good guest service, similar to places like Target. Target actually stands by any of their owned brands for life and they can be returned or exchanged without a receipt. You must have missed this as you googled me? I could be a promoting customer for life, if you took guest service seriously and replaced you defective plant. Instead, the most energy you have put into your faulty plants and business is when someone shares their experience in an online review. That is pretty sad. I wish you both the best, congratulations on the recent marriage, but am afraid if you don’t learn how raise better plants or treat customers who make purchases and have problems you will not have success. You’re right, Home Depot is a much wiser decision than Urban Gardens.

Ok place, but this store sold me a 6” satin pothos for $35. Fine price and all until I got home and realized the entire pot was full of unrooted cuttings. This was in oct- it’s Jan now and I’m still mad that these temperamental babies won’t root and my plant is STILL curly and slowly dying. I keep 60+ tropicals and this is least favorite (I would have water propagated. Not soil.) Easily the worst plant buy I’ve ever purchased. Check your plants from here guys!

Ive lived in Louisville for decades and have found the local garden center lacking in all of the above. Tired of driving to Longmont, Boulder and Denver. Ive been there four times this season and its my favorite place to browse and BUY!!
